The only way we will defeat Trump in November is by bringing in people who have given up on the the political process. We have the movement and agenda to do that. Live now from Grand Rapids with Rev. Jesse Jackson: https://t.co/WpDcJbCty8— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) March 8, 2020
Today is a special day for our campaign. Rev. Jesse Jackson is one of the most transformative figures in modern American history and a hero of mine. It is one of the honors of my life to have his support. pic.twitter.com/CAszZIuKDT— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) March 8, 2020
Jackson telling the crowd that a vote for Sanders is a vote for justice and health care.
"I stand with Bernie Sanders today because he stood with me. I stand with him because he never lost his taste for justice with the people. I stand with him because he stands with you," Jackson said.

The youth that come to these rallies represent hope, healing and promise for our nation.

Sanders had events at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids.
Sanders called Jackson one of the greatest fighters for civil rights in America's modern history. If it wasn't for Jackson's tireless activism, Barack Obama would likely not have become the first Black president.
Jackson once said that he'll cut Obama's nuts off because "he was talking down to Black people."
Last time Jackson endorsed Hillary Clinton over Sanders in the 2016 race.
"The Rev. Jesse Jackson has broken down more barriers than one can ever dream of," said Sanders.
Jackson posted on social media, "It's a joy to 'feel the Bern.'"
"We look to our youth for energy, expansion and inclusion which leads to growth. The youth that comes to these rallies represent hope, healing and promise for our nation," Jackson added.
It's a big endorsement. Sanders has struggled with the Black vote.
Since the South Carolina Democratic Primary, Sanders had struggled to regain footing. He's hoping to win Michigan to stay viable in this race.
Polls show that Joe Biden leads in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Illinois and Missouri.
