Donald J. Trump, Mike Pence, Melania Trump, Congress and the Canadian Parliament were informed about the developments involving the prime minister.
Trudeau's office released a statement on Thursday night confirming that the 44-year old activist has tested positive for the virus a day after she reported feeling mild flu-like symptoms including a low fever, on Wednesday night.
"She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remained mild," said the Prime Minister's Office in a statement.
Trudeau, 48 is "in good health" has no symptoms but will be in isolation for 14 days, according to the statement.
He is not being tested at this time because he is asymptomatic, and will continue his duties as normal.
He will address Canadians on Friday about the developments in the provinces.
Relations are icy between Trump and Trudeau. The two have been at each other's throats over many issues. |

Sophie experienced symptoms after returning from the United Kingdom. She was at an event that had former Australian prime minister Julia Gillard, actor Idris Elba, actor Jamie Oliver, race car drier Lewis Hamilton.
