Well famed actor and director Max von Sydow passed away today.
The Associated Press said the actor passed away on Sunday at the age of 90.
Von Sydow got his start in the 1949 Swedish film "Only a Mother." Throughout his career, he appeared in almost 200 films and television productions, the AP reported.
But he is best known for the role of Father Merrin in the 1973 film, "The Exorcist."
He was was the character of the Three-Eyed Raven in the HBO series, "Game of Thrones," as well as Lor San Tekka in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," delivering the line, "This will begin to make things right" at the beginning of the final "Star Wars" trilogy.
Von Sydow was also one of a handful of actors to play James Bond villain Ernst Blofeld in "Never Say Never Again."
His final role will be in the upcoming film "Echoes of the Past."
Von Sydow was nominated for two Academy Awards over his career, including one in 1998 for the Peele the Conqueror and a second for "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close," the BBC reported.
Max von Sydow (born Carl Adolf von Sydow) was a Swedish actor who appeared in European and American films. He is known also as Knight Antonius Block in Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal."
He was born in Lund, Sweden in 1929. He passed away in Provence, France.
Max was married to Christina Olin in 1951 and divorced her in 1979. He would later marry Catherine Brelet in 1997.
He had two children from Olin. He also had adopted Brelet's two children as his own.
Von Sydow said that he was non-religious and he wasn't afraid to die.
He gained citizenship in France in 2002 and relinquished his Swedish citizenship.
