DeRay McKesson Runs For Mayor Of Baltimore To Stop Sheila Dixon!

DeRay McKesson decided to run for mayor to stop the potential nomination of former mayor Sheila Dixon.

Civil Rights activist DeRay McKesson formally files for the Democratic primary in the Baltimore mayoral race. The race is fielded with 13 candidates and one of them is scandal plagued.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has declined to run for re-election. Leading candidates include former Mayor Sheila Dixon, state Sen. Catherine E. Pugh, City Councilmen Carl Stokes and Nick J. Mosby, lawyer Elizabeth Embry and businessman David L. Warnock.

Knowing he's a long-shot for the nomination, DeRay wants to make a statement to corruption in the Baltimore police, the rampant homicide rate and potential of Sheila Dixon returning.

Dixon served as Baltimore's mayor before Stephanie Rawlings-Blake took over. Dixon was appointed to mayor after Martin O'Malley became governor of Maryland. Dixon would end up resigning after she was caught up in a bribery scandal. She took kickbacks and tried to hide it from state auditors.

Mckesson, 30, a Baltimore native and former public school administrator here and in Minnesota, is part of a team called Campaign Zero, which seeks to end police killings in America. The group wants to end "broken windows" policing, increase community oversight of police and limit use of force, among other goals.

He has met with top White House officials and presidential candidates in recent months to discuss civil rights. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called him a "social media emperor."

McKesson who rose to fame as apart of the #BlackLivesMatter movement has attracted much attention during the 2014-15 peak. He was there protesting throughout a list of high-profile incidents involving law enforcement.

McKesson has been rewarded for his actions and scrutinized by them. I started to acknowledge him when he appeared on that annoying conservative agitator's right wing carnival. He appeared alongside some conservative Black extremist Kevin Jackson. The interview between the two was heated. Jackson played dirty by called McKesson a "race pimp".

Since his appearance, McKesson rose in social media stock. Today he has 308,000 followers on his Twitter account and I am guessing some of his detractors are there too.
DeRay runs for mayor.
McKesson ignored the critics and kept pressing forward. His ground work also includes his #CampaignZero project which expands from police reform but protection of those in the LGBT community.

McKesson came out last year as a gay man.

Other candidates include Nick Mosby, the husband of state prosecutor Marilyn Mosby. She rose to fame when she indicted the six cops who were involved in the killing of Freddie Gray. Nick also appeared on that right wing network and told the reporters and Geraldo Rivera that their divisive coverage of the 2015 riots were biased.

The city of Baltimore already have 23 homicides this year.

Conservative Outrage: Behind The Mosque!

President Barack Obama meets with religious leaders at the Islamic Society of Baltimore.

President Barack Obama spoke at a mosque today. This is the first time a sitting president ever visited a mosque.

The Washington Post reports that the historic 45-minute speech at a large, suburban Baltimore mosque was attended by some of the country's most prominent Muslims. In what appeared to be a counter to the rise in Islamophobia, Obama celebrated the long history of Muslim achievement in American life from sports to architecture and described Muslims as Cub Scouts, soldiers and parents, pointing out the mother of the pre-med college student who introduced him at the podium.

"There are voices who are constantly claiming you have to choose between your identities…. Do not believe them…. You fit in here. Right here. You're right where you belong. You're part of America, too," Obama said, his volume rising as he said he was speaking in particular at that moment to young Muslim Americans. "You're not Muslim or American, you're Muslim and American. And don't grow cynical."

The speech was one of several almost back-to-back, high-profile Obama addresses to U.S. faith communities, talks he seems to be using to focus on religious tolerance during an election season where faith often comes up in fiery contexts. One week ago he spoke at the Israeli Embassy, saying the impulse to stigmatize people of other faiths is "deep within us." On Thursday he will address one of the most high-profile evangelical events, the National Prayer Breakfast.
One of the biggest voices spewing anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Obama's comments come at a time when the country is furiously debating what constitutes religious freedom and who has the right to proclaim it: Is it for the Muslim refugee from Syria? The conservative Christian baker or photographer who can't in good conscience participate in gay weddings? The Orthodox Jewish private schools seeking funding? His comments Thursday will likely be closely watched.

Of course, in his last year, there's no rest in pissing conservatives off. Regardless of what Obama does, these conservatives will bitch about it.

It's pathetic. He's going all the way in pissing these guys off.

Obama already issued executive orders when it comes to firearms. The Iranian nuclear deal is active and the country is removing its nuclear stockpile. He rejected the KeystoneXL pipeline. He is "feeling good" about a potential Supreme Court ruling on his executive order on immigration. He and Vice President Joe Biden have spoken to Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton on how to address Republicans and their relentless bitching.

Obama also acknowledges his achievements and failures as president. He said that he wished he could have gotten firearm safety laws passed when he had a minor super-majority in Congress.

He also says that conservatives would be "out of business" once he leaves. They'll have nothing to bitch about.

If a Republican gets into the White House and a disaster happens, you should already know that conservatives will blame Obama for it. Conservatives refuse to blame Republicans for inept leadership.

I'm sorry. They do blame Republicans. But not the way I see it. They believe that compromise and bipartisanship is bad. They refuse to acknowledge cultural shifts in the country. They're still living in the 20th Century with Ronald Reagan and tactical fear mongering.

Who's the real extremists?

I believe its the agitators in the junk food media who bitch and bemoan about President Barack Obama in their latest phony outrage.

Wondering how much outrage will conservatives have knowing the day after the election, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton or an establishment Republican winning the general election.

So far, Republicans managed to piss off almost everyone including their own base. It seems so disorganized and so intrusive when it comes to the right to choice, right to press and right to religion.
The trio of Islamophobia: Brigitte Gabriel, Thomas McInerny and Pam Geller.
Conservatives are so obsessed with the word vomit de jour, "radical Islam".

Obama warned Republicans to stop using the term. He believes that their ignorance could legitimize the terrorists and inspire more hate crimes against Muslims.

They're complaining about the poor. They're trying to use 20th Century tactics when it comes to socialism. And they're blow the dog whistle when they're attacking Blacks, Hispanics, immigrants, and Muslims. The fear mongering and finger pointing is getting old and extremely tiring.

They refuse to acknowledge the Republican Party becoming more Whiter and isolated. Yeah, they may have Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio running. The Rainbow Coalition of Extremism isn't going to work.

White extremists hate them. They don't want a politically correct candidate.

On The Outskirts Of West Kardashian, You See The Khalifa Rose!

Wiz Khalifa confirms that feud with Kanye West is over.

Wiz Khalifa still despises Kanye West but confirms that the feud between them is over. Last month, Kanye West launched into a Twitter meltdown dogging on Wiz after the rapper accused him of dissing his wife Kim Kardashian. Wiz was saying the actual meaning for KK is Khalifa kush.

In his rant, West managed to dog on Amber Rose and their son Sebastian.

Amber Rose clapped back and told her social media followers that Kim K. and Kanye do butt traffic and finger play. That set the junk food media ablaze. But after a few weeks of verbal snapping, it seems like the two ladies managed to work it like moms.

It's been told that Kim and Amber worked it out through their publicists. Kim actually called up Amber to directly squash the feud.

On Amber Rose's social media she poses with Kim Kardashian signalling a truce.

I am clearly a huge fan of Wiz Khalifa. He normally is a smoker not a fighter. He doesn't have many rap beefs with anyone. I know Kanye was kind of pissed Amber hooked up with Wiz, but he's now with Kim. Kim's antics turned him out.

Kanye's behavior was tolerable for some time. I remember the George Bush doesn't care about Black people remark. I also loathe his antics when he stole the spotlight from pop singer Taylor Swift.

Kanye West is a rapper, producer, songwriter, and media mogul. He is the founder of G.O.O.D. Music (Gettin' Out Our Dreams). He signed rap acts, Pusha T, Q-Tip, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Big Sean and singer John Legend to his label. West is signed through Def Jam with contractual association ROC Nation/Roc-A-Fella Records. He is married to Kim Kardashian and has two children with her.
Ego Trippin' .
Wiz Khalifa is a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. He's the founder of Taylor Gang Records. LLC. He hails from Pittsburgh. He came to fame when he released his hit single "Black & Yellow" which would become the Pittsburgh Steelers "unofficial" anthem. He is signed to Atlantic Records and Rostrum Entertainment.

Taylor Gang Records is ran by former Three Six Mafia rapper Juicy J and Wiz.

Juicy J along with his brother Project Pat, Chevy Woods, Ty Dolla $ign and Berner record music along with Wiz Khalifa.

Amber Rose is a professional model, actress, video vixen and author. Legal name is Amber Levonchuck (formerly Thomaz). She was married to Wiz (Cameron Thomaz) for a few years before they had a divorce. They still remain friends and raise their son.

Khalifa from Wiz Khalifa comes out this Friday.

WAVES from Kanye West comes out on February 11th.

A Bronco's Wild Ride Got Saddled!

The Denver Broncos send practice squad Ryan Murphy to the showers after he was caught up in sex sting.

Ryan Murphy won't celebrate the festivities on Sunday. The Denver Broncos safety on the rookie squad was caught up.

Murphy who lives in Oakland was caught in a human trafficking sex sting. The Santa Clara Sheriff's Department, the San Jose Police along with the FBI put Murphy and his brother in the county lockup for allegedly picking up a girl on the stroll. They took her to the Motel 6 to "kick it".

The law was watching them from a distance. Inside Edition, the tabloid news program was in a ride along with the law for Operation Charlie Brown. The law was doing decoy and monitoring women on the stroll. When they seen Murphy and his brother head off to the hotel, the law busted him.

Gary Kubiak was heartbroken that his player got caught up. He doesn't care what they do in their personal lives, but when it involves things that make the team look bad, he's extremely disappointed in the behavior.

Murphy, the woman and his brother have a court date and he's going to be eventually cut from the team. After all, when it comes to behavior, Roger Goodell had no choice but to lay the hammer.

Thank Ray Rice. If it wasn't for him, the NFL would just say "boys would be boys".

He was a standout for Oregon State.
A transgender prostitute in San Francisco.
Prostitution is an activity that involves a person selling their bodies for payment or bartering.

Tricks (johns/marks) are usually picking up female or transgender prostitutes in areas where the law often considered frequently traveled. The women often are addicted to drugs and may pose a risk of having a sexually transmitted disease. The women may often set up tricks by leading to places where they could be robbed of properties. Some women are often willing to put their lives and others at risk.

If you're a prostitute and have HIV, you could face a felony charge. It could carry 15 years in the iron college or LIFE depending on the state where you're busted in.

Murphy, the woman and his brother are innocent until proven guilty.

Superbowl L (50) is on CBS Sunday night February 7th. It's going down at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos will face off.

Inspector Gadget Self-Destructs!

Wowzers, he had a turd in his trousers.

Rick Santorum, the most lamest candidate besides Martin O'Malley is reportedly bowing out tonight.

The former Pennsylvania senator and former 2012 Iowa Caucus "winner" couldn't squeeze enough people into that truck he drove across the 99 counties of the state.

Rick Santorum is by far the only candidate outside of Ted Cruz to champion on pro-life, anti-gay, and anti-immigrant stances.

Santorum like Mike Huckabee were perennial candidates who seriously believed they could win. If they couldn't beat the 2008 and 2012 nominees, they should have not ran in the first place.

And this candidate self destructs.
He is expected to make the announcement Wednesday night and will endorse a candidate.

Santorum won the 2012 Iowa caucuses and ended that race with the second-most number of delegates to eventually GOP nominee the perennial loser himself, Mitt Romney. But he was unable to capture any momentum this year, despite extensive barnstorming efforts in Iowa.

He is the third Republican presidential candidate to drop out after Monday's caucuses. Mike Huckabee ended his campaign that night, and Rand Paul suspended his campaign Wednesday morning.

Remember some time ago, Santorum (or I refer to as Son of Boredom) once said that he doesn't want to make Black lives better. He also said that President Barack a "government nig-guh". He caught himself before he said NIGGER.

He won't be missed.

Ran'd Away!

Will the state of Kentucky forgive him?

Republican senator Rand Paul will exit the race after the disappointing results from the Iowa Caucus.

The high profile senator who ran on his father Ron Paul's libertarian policies struggled throughout the whole campaign. He was on the verge of exiting the race when he was sent to the kiddie table back a month ago. He may have made the mistake of ditching the debate and whining too much.

"It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House," Paul said in a statement. "Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of liberty.

Paul finished fifth in Monday's Iowa caucuses with 4.5 percent of the vote, behind rivals Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Ben Carson.

Paul campaigned on defending liberty and shrinking the federal government’s influence in the United States and abroad.

Since announcing his candidacy on April 7, 2015, in Louisville, Kentucky, Paul was unsuccessful in breaking single digits in national polls.
Pathetic Rand Paul will exit presidential race. He will focus on getting reelected to the senate.
The man who was dubbed “The Most Interesting Man in Politics” by Time magazine in 2014 wasn’t able to capture the electorate’s attention, even in states like New Hampshire where his libertarian positions have broader appeal.

Paul, 53, was one of the earliest and strongest voices against GOP front-runner Trump on or off the debate stage, calling the billionaire real estate mogul from New York everything from a “fake conservative” to a “delusional narcissist.” He even compared Trump to “Gollum,” the antagonist in “The Lord of the Rings.”

Paul’s campaign focused on gaining grassroots momentum among younger, first-time voters and college students.

Back home in Kentucky, Paul will be gearing up for a re-election campaign where he will be facing off against the Democratic mayor of Lexington, Jim Gray.

See Donald Trump let the cat out of the bag. He says that he can't run for president and then make running for senate a runner's up bid.

Carson Cries Over Cruz Winning! Accused Him Of Playing "Dirty"!

Carson should understand that opportunists will do anything to win. Cruz proved that by winning the Iowa Caucus.

No sign of getting out yet, but clearly Ben Carson is on his last breathe. The Republican candidate finished in a distant fourth place in the Iowa Caucus.

The Carson campaign slammed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his campaign for playing dirty politics.

The Cruz campaign posting a flyer saying that Carson suspended his campaign.

Cruz surrogates on Monday night circulated a CNN report that Carson would be going to Florida and Washington, D.C. after the caucuses instead of immediately decamping to New Hampshire, as is customary.

Carson criticized that move, characterizing the gossip as "dirty tricks" that had cost him the caucus.

Cruz's camp called the information-spreading "fair game," but conceded that they should have updated people once Carson's camp clarified that he was staying in the race and going back to Florida simply to grab a change of clothes.

Cruz would immediately come out and somewhat apologize to Carson.

Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated the grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story. That’s fair game.

What the team should have done is send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out.

That was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.

Bern 'N Hills!

No easy road for Hillary Clinton. The Bern is hot!

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Hillary Clinton ended up in a tie in yesterday's Iowa Caucus. The Democratic candidates both ended up having 49.9% and 49.6% respectively. Clinton carried 700 (23) delegates and Sanders 695 (21). Some of the precincts were decided on coin flips.

The Democratic caucus is totally different from the Republican caucus. The delegates for the Democrats are split between candidates. Republicans are distributed through proportional.

Assuring that this will be a bitter Democratic primary. The Republicans on the other hand have Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as their winner of the Iowa Caucus.

Sanders who is clearly a threat to Clinton is vowing to shake up the establishment. Sanders is a Democratic Socialist. He is a progressive and a very nice guy. He hasn't got the endorsements of fellow senators and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), DNC chairwoman wants him out.

The young Democrats are not having it. They came out for Bernie and it seems like I can say that this is a "victory" for both Clinton and Sanders.

But the bad blood is already there. The Sanders supporters booed Clinton, and Republicans rivals.

You got liberal agitators Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Bill Press, Alan Colmes and Leslie Marshal all debating over who's got it in the bag. Their callers are threatening boycotting the Democratic candidate if its not theirs.

A civil war is mounting between Schultz and Rep. Tulisi Gabbard (D-HI). Gabbard, a conservative Democrat is trying to focus on issues that Republican bark over. Schultz and Gabbard sparred over the debate schedule and how to distribute delegates. Gabbard was banned from the first debate after she appeared on MSNBC to bitch about Schultz.

Also noted, former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley dropped out. He only managed to win a measly 8 state committed delegates.

The agitators in the junk food media (i.e. Drudge, old fart Limbaugh, and that annoying conservative agitator Sean Hannity) have called Sanders a curmudgeon.

And yet, Cruz and rival Donald Trump aren't!

Well it's off to New Hampshire. The Republicans have a last stand here. Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Chris Christie and Marco Rubio have a last stand here. If they fail at winning against Cruz or Trump, it's over for them.

It's over for Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, and Jim Gilmore.

Clinton and Sanders will appear on CNN tonight to do a town hall. They will have the gloves off when this happens.

Cruz'n To Victory!

Republicans picks Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the Iowa Caucus.

Rafael Edward Cruz is the front runner. Shake ups in the elections as well.

As reported the results are in and one bombastic voice in the insurgency won the Iowa Caucus.

Congratulations to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for pulling off a victory in Iowa. The Iowa Caucus results are in and of course, many hardline conservatives are happy that Cruz pulled an upset against Donald Trump in the most bitterly fought race for the nomination.

The Canadian American politico beat back an onslaught of attacks from Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Jeb Bush.

Overall, Rubio did well. He pulled a few points behind Trump. This third place victory assures that Rubio is in it for the long run. Also reported Democratic candidate Martin O'Malley and Republican candidate Mike Huckabee are out of the race. The two were polling so fucking low, it was totally a waste of time for them running given the atmosphere.

Rand Paul, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, John Kasich, Chris Christie, Rick Santorum and Jim Gilmore might want to exit the stage as soon as possible.

Trump's boycott of that right wing network during the final lap may have been a mistake on his part.

But never one to give up, Trump is pressing on to New Hampshire hoping to knock Cruz off his perch.

Cruz on the other hand is now proven to the Republicans he's no loser. His extreme rhetoric proven to be a success. He's at the forefront of repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). He said that he would "carpet bomb" the hell out of Islamic State. He said that the "Washington Cartel" will hate him even more now that he's won.

And now, he's got the title of being the front runner in this race.

O'Malley who had a struggling campaign was fighting for more debates and more airtime. Unfortunately the race focused on ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

So far, we have no clear winner in the Democratic race but it's a razor thin and a tough call.

Sanders is appealing to young voters. Clinton is appealing to older voters and working class Democrats.

This will be decided as soon as possible. We'll keep you posted on the results.

Obama To Visit A Mosque!

President Barack Obama to visit a Baltimore Islamic center.

No he's not a Muslim. He's a part of the United Church of Christ. You may remember that they were hand ringing about the president's former pastor Jeremiah Wright making the fiery sermons about the United States and god's law.

Well the White House announced that President Barack Obama will head to the Islamic Society of Baltimore to address religious freedom and acceptance.

President Obama has been criticizing increasing anti-Islamic sentiment in the United States.

"When politicians insult Muslims, whether abroad or our fellow citizens, when a mosque is vandalized, or a kid is called names, that doesn't make us safer," the president said during the 2016 State of the Union.

Fear of terrorist attacks on American soil has risen after attacks in San Bernardino, California, and Paris. And according to a study by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, attacks on mosques in 2015 were at the highest point since the group began keeping track in 2009.

But presidents visiting mosques is obviously nothing new. President George W. Bush famously visited one just 6 days after the attacks on September 11, in another attempt to quell intolerance.

"The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam," President Bush said when he visited the Islamic Center at Washington D.C. "That's not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace."

I am expecting the Islamophobia to be off the hook from assholes like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Pam Geller will be in the spotlight again.

That annoying conservative agitator Sean Hannity or that old fart Rush Limbaugh will likely bemoan about the president refusing to say the polarizing word vomit "radical Islam".

It will be splashed on Matt Drudge's conservative Craiglist.

Ann Coulter would use her Twitter fingers to attack the president on being a sympathizer to Muslims.

And of course it will be more dog whistle to Trumpublicans to question the president's birth or religion.

These clowns on that right wing network going right into him.

Man Shot In The Chest Talks To The Junk Food Media And It Goes Viral!

Man shows his gun shot wound to a local reporter.

Mediaite picks up a story about a man being shot in Quincy, Illinois. He actually talks to a junk food media reporter about his ordeal. Devon Hawkins speaks directly to KHQA's Reyna Harvey on live TV about what happened.

The shooting, which took place in the very early hours of this morning, came as a surprise to DeVon, who simply shrugged and said some people “probably want [him] dead” and are “on some other stuff.” A bullet flew through the window of the room he was “chillin’, kickin'” in and his first thought was to get his son out of the room rather than tend to his wound.

He lifted his shirt to showcase his bloody bandages, but the best part of the video might just be when Harvey kicks it back to the studio and an almost unfazed-looking Chad Douglas deadpans that the event was “incredible.”

Again, gun violence is the number one threat in the United States.

Republicans and some squishy Democrats fear the wrath of the National Rifle Association.

Work Or You Don't Eat!

Republicans are happy to see the poor work for food stamps.

Here we go again. It seems like meddling in your personal business or your refrigerator is Republican business. They want smaller government when it comes to polluting the water and air. Now they want to keep the poor and needy hungry by passing laws or modifying legislation to require the unable to work so they can earn food stamps.

I've listened to that annoying conservative agitator Sean Hannity bitch about 47 million Americans being on food stamps. The most ignorant quote comes from failed presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.

Gingrich said that President Barack Obama is the most successful "food stamp president".

Republicans and the Trumpublicans believe that the Obama economy is a disaster.

This populist behavior is scary for America. The White outrage machine is cranked to the max.

With unemployment leveling off, Republicans can now feel confident to take food stamps from those who can't support a family under $300 food stamp subsidies a month.

More than 1 million low-income residents in 21 states could soon lose their government food stamps if they fail to meet work requirements that began kicking in this month.

The rule change in the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program was triggered by the improving economy — specifically, falling unemployment. But it is raising concerns among the poor, social service providers and food pantry workers, who fear an influx of hungry people.

Recent experience in other states indicates that most of those affected will probably not meet the work requirements and will be cut off from food stamps.

For many people, "it means less food, less adequate nutrition. And over the span of time, that can certainly have an impact on health — and the health care system," said Dave Krepcho, president and chief executive of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Advocates say some adults trying to find work face a host of obstacles, including criminal records, disabilities or lack of a driver's license.

The work-for-food requirements were first enacted under the 1996 welfare reform law signed by President Bill Clinton and sponsored by then-Rep. John Kasich, who is now Ohio's governor and a Republican candidate for president.

The provision applies to able-bodied adults ages 18 through 49 who have no children or other dependents in their home. It requires them to work, volunteer or attend education or job-training courses at least 80 hours a month to receive food aid. If they don't, their benefits are cut off after three months.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture can waive those work rules, either for entire states or certain counties and communities, when unemployment is high and jobs are scarce. Nearly every state was granted a waiver during the recession that began in 2008. But statewide waivers ended this month in at least 21 states, the largest group since the recession.

An Associated Press analysis of food aid figures shows that nearly 1.1 million adults stand to lose their benefits in those 21 states if they do not get a job or an exemption. That includes about 300,000 in Florida, 150,000 in Tennessee and 110,000 in North Carolina. The three states account for such a big share because they did not seek any further waivers for local communities.

n Tennessee, Terry Work said her 27-year-old deaf son recently was denied disability payments, meaning he is considered able-bodied. And that means he stands to lose his food stamps, even though she said her son has trouble keeping a job because of his deafness.

"I know there's going to be a lot of people in the county hurt by this," said Work, founder of Helping Hands of Hickman County, a social service agency in a community about an hour west of Nashville.

Nationwide, some 4.7 million food stamp recipients are deemed able-bodied adults without dependents, according to USDA. Only 1 in 4 has any income from a job. They receive an average of $164 a month from the program.

In states that already have implemented the work requirements, many recipients have ended up losing their benefits.

Wisconsin began phasing in work requirements last spring. Of the 22,500 able-bodied adults who became subject to the change between April and June, two-thirds were dropped from the rolls three months later for failing to meet the requirements.

Some states could have applied for partial waivers but chose not to do so.

North Carolina's Republican-led government enacted a law last fall accelerating implementation of the work requirements and barring the state from seeking waivers unless there is a natural disaster. State Sen. Ralph Hise said the state was doing a disservice to the unemployed by providing them long-term food aid.

"People are developing gaps on their resumes, and it's actually making it harder for individuals to ultimately find employment," said Hise, a Republican who represents a rural part of western North Carolina.

In Missouri, the GOP-led Legislature overrode a veto by Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon to enact a law barring the state from waiving work requirements until at least 2019. The three-month clock started ticking Jan. 1 for 60,000 people in Missouri, where unemployment is down to just 4.4 percent.

"We were seeing a lot of people who were receiving food stamps who weren't even trying to get a job," said the law's sponsor, Sen. David Sater, a Republican whose Missouri district includes the tourist destination of Branson. "I know in my area you can find a temporary job for 20 hours (a week) fairly easily. It just didn't seem right to me to have somebody doing nothing and receiving food stamps."

Others say it's not that simple to find work, even with an improving economy.

Joe Heflin, 33, of Jefferson City, said he has been receiving food stamps for more than five years, since an injury ended his steady job as an iron worker and led to mental illness during his recovery. He said he gets nearly $200 a month in food stamps and has no other income. Heflin was recently notified that his food stamps could end if he doesn't get a job or a disability exemption.

"I think it's a crummy deal," Heflin said while waiting in line at a food pantry. "I think they ought to look into individuals more, or at least hear them out. ... I depend on it, you know, to eat."

Policymakers often "don't realize a lot of the struggles those individuals are dealing with," said Mariana Chilton, director of the Center for Hunger-Free Communities at Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Some are dealing with trauma from military service or exposure to violence and abuse, Chilton said. Others have recently gotten out of prison, making employers hesitant to hire them. Some adults who are considered able-bodied nonetheless have physical or mental problems.

A study of 4,145 food stamp recipients in Franklin County, Ohio, who became subject to work requirements between December 2013 and February 2015 found that more than 30 percent said they had physical or mental limitations that affected their ability to work. A similar percentage had no high school diploma or equivalency degree. And 61 percent lacked a driver's license.

"There should have been more thought on how we look at employment and not thinking that people are sitting there, getting food stamps because they are lazy and don't want to work," said Octavia Rainey, a community activist in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Some states have programs to help food stamp recipients improve their job skills. Elsewhere, it's up to individuals to find programs run by nonprofit groups or by other state agencies. Sometimes, that can be daunting.

Rainey said people who received letters informing them they could lose their food stamps sometimes were placed on hold when they called for more information — a problem for those using prepaid calling cards. And in Florida, food aid recipients received letters directing them to a state website for information.

"A lot of these folks, they don't have computers, they don't have broadband access," said Krepcho, the Central Florida food bank executive. "That's ripe for people falling off the rolls."

Say if you're disabled by being either deaf, blind, schizophrenic, allergic to an element, or terminally ill, there may be an ounce of sympathy towards these people. But given what Republicans are today, they wouldn't care.

When you're a felon in certain states, it's nearly impossible to get a job in the United States. Let alone you're a sexual offender and you're trying to find a job.

Blame the poor and needy for the economy. See the Republicans have love for the wealthy. They refuse to raise taxes on the rich. They refuse to increase Supplemental Nutrient Assistance Program to those who have no options

Hell I just had my rent go up in my crappy one bedroom apartment. I can't obtain food stamps because I make $1,340 a month in earnings at my job.

At best I make $25,000 a year working at my job. That's just slightly under middle class.

I can't even obtain food stamps because of that. I am single and have no children. I am able bodied and I still don't make enough.

The middle and lower class needs the safety net. It prevents them from robbing and looting stores.

Cause if you have to steal to keep food on the table, you probably would. Trust me, if the opportunities were given, the poor would steal from a grocery store if they couldn't have access to the safety nets. Believe me, you never know what happens until you become one of them!

If you're disabled, I guess that you better get better. Because you're going to need a job as well. If you're in need of a firearm, get one because you're going to need it.
