Is Jimmy Kimmel On The Outs?

ABC saying they are not done with Jimmy Kimmel. But are they?

Is Jimmy Kimmel Tonight on its way out?

Yearly wrap up.

The longtime ABC show could ending in May 2027. However, ABC is pushing back on the New York Post story claiming that his contract not being renewed. Kimmel is the No. 1 talk show on late night.

So Page Six claimed that Jimmy Kimmel, 58 is being told that his year to year contract is no longer obligated and they are trying to save money by eliminating the show.

The rumors spread so fast, I am assuming Sean "Softball" Hannity is licking his chops.

The network swiftly responded, with an ABC Entertainment spokesperson telling USA TODAY, "This information is inaccurate – any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative."

The report was published hours before the show returns for its 25th season. The premiere will feature appearances from actors Andrew Garfield and Joey King.

Kimmel was suspended last year after he made a mild joke in which he dissed President Donald J. Trump for his tepid grief over Charlie Kirk. The white nationalist was assassinated on Sept. 10, 2025. We are coming on the first year of that white nationalist's death.

ABC suspended Kimmel. He was off for one week and it drew massive backlash.

Kirk advocated for free speech also had rhetoric that was too extreme for most civilized humans. Kimmel tells jokes, some of them will hit nerve. But free speech.

Because of the Brenden Carr, the toilet brush head of the Federal Communications Commission pressuring license pulls, ABC made a bitch move.

Kimmel came back an apologized (by force). Since his return, he has become more popular and stood in solidarity with fellow late night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert as they faced pressure.

The Late Show was canceled in May.

Kimmel is to do his season premiere on Tuesday.

One guest host riled up the president. It was Rosie O'Donnell. She returned to the United States to host the show. O'Donnell left the U.S. in 2024 after Trump's winning the election settling in Ireland.

O'Donnell hosted her own show as well as being a main panelist on The View.

She was an early critic of Trump and the two are long time rivals. Her guest hosting pulled in massive ratings. It also drew the ire of the far right.

Kimmel is a rival of the president. He hosted Trump in the past. The two ended up having a nasty fallout over the Charlottesville incident. Kimmel also faced calls for his firing when he mocked First Lady Melania Trump's accent. She is Slovian-American model and business executive who is twice served First Lady of the United States.
