Two More GOP Lawmakers Out!

Republicans House members are abruptly leaving. It sets the stage for possible upheavel.

We got people jumping off the boat. Donald J. Trump and the Republicans are causing such dysfunction in Washington, DC, it may affect down ticket candidates. So two more Republicans are now calling it quits.

Rep. Jim Sensebrenner (R-WI) and Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX) are bolting from Congress. That brings the retirement and abrupt resignations of Republicans to 15.

Sensebrenner announced on Wednesday that he will not run for reelection next year, according to multiple sources.

Sensebrenner is a senior member and second-most-senior Republican in the House of Representatives. He has represented the Wisconsin 5th Congressional District which covers Delafield, Wukesha, Menomonee Falls, West Bend, and west Milwuakee. That district was crucial to Trump. He won the district by 20 points.

Sensebrenner and Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) were the latest Republicans in Wisconsin to bolt. Duffy who served in 2011 will leave the House in a few weeks. He said that his wife, Fox News commentator Rachel Campos-Duffy is having issues with their pregnancy of their ninth child. I don't buy it. I believe he may have cheated on her. But I don't want to start rumors, eh! Duffy and Sensebrenner were leading the way in helping Scott Walker strip bargaining rights from state workers and rollback early voting in precincts favorable to Democrats.

Texas bloat neck Bill Flores is leaving the House. His district is becoming more competitive. He and other Republicans demonized Barack Obama during his two terms as president.

As the senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, he was one of the founding members of the controversial Patriot Act. He has been a far-white figure in Wisconsin and Washington, DC. He was one of the many long-term Republicans who voted to impeach Bill Clinton. He is one of the many Republicans in the current House who refuses to take up any impeachment inquiries into Trump.

Flores announced on Wednesday that he is also retiring. He is seeing the writing on the wall. His district is becoming competitive.

Flores is one of those Tea Party Movement Republicans who rode on the wave in 2010. He was one of the lawmakers who demonized Obama during his first and second term. Flores and Sensebrenner denied Obama the authorization to strike in Syria (and yet complain about how the "red line" wasn't crossed). They denied Obama the gun reform legislation after Sandy Hook in his first term. They have demonized Obama with phony scandals. They even threatened to impeach him.

Flores represents the 17th Congressional District which serves Waco, College Station, Bryan, Buffalo, Rockdale, Round Rock and portions of Austin.

Flores said that he wanted to just serve six terms or less. He said that he's going to spend more time with the family and help the next generation win.

Flores joins Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), Rep. Pete Olsen (R-TX), Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-TX) and Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX). These Republicans are heading for the exit. Hurd is the only African American in the Republican minority. Most of the Republicans bolting are in districts that have a strong Hispanic majority and are becoming more competitive.

Suburban areas once were Republican strongholds. The areas are trending more bluer because of kitchen table issues and the demand for lawmakers to put aside politics to do something.

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES. NOT PLANNED PARENTHOOD. NOT KNEELING TO THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. NOT MIGRANTS CROSSING THE BORDER.

Republicans are doing poorly on the economy. They are being pressured to address climate change.

They are being slammed for passing restrictions on a women's right to choice. The Republicans won't take on issues that affect millions of lives. They want to continue the status quo.

Republicans leaving abruptly have the Democrats licking their chops. Given that gerrrymandering and illegal tactics from Republicans at the state level, many Republicans shrugged off the notion saying that they're "ruby red" districts.

Why can't the Democrats just run on a progressive platform? I mean the Republicans are running solely on the conservative platform and have no intentions of moving to the center. Why do the Democrats have to move to the center? I mean that's the part of the status quo politics we're getting tired of. Democrats have to retreat from being aggressive while Republicans and Donald J. Trump are free to do whatever they want.

Remember Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) denied Barack Obama a third pick to the Supreme Court.

He confirms that Trump will get more Supreme Court nominees.

So Democrats, how's that moving to the center working out for you?

We can't allow this. Democrats better get that through their heads as well. Folks are getting tired of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). They are part of a status quo in leadership that folks have gotten tired of.

Democrats won the majority and they're still stuck on stupid. If Democrats don't get their act together, the Justice Democrats will find candidates to primary them
