Dayton Area Fast Food Companies Are Abruptly Closing!

Jobs are leaving Dayton, Ohio. Many fast food and causal dining restaurants are suddenly closing in the area. Tim Hortons have closed a handful of locations.

Okay, Dayton, Ohio is my hometown. I am getting fatigue of this community. I am tired of seeing this community fall apart. Piece by piece. Year by year. Day by day. Hour by Hour. Minute by Minute.

I am sick of this town. I wish things would be different for the once thriving manufacturing city.

Given that the city has faced a destructive tornado and mass shooting. I haven't forgotten about the abrupt closing of businesses in this community.

Dayton has lost Taylor Communications (which owned Standard Register).

The Bon Ton Group (which owned Dayton's retailer Elder-Beerman) went out of business.

Sears Holding (which owns Kmart and Sears) has officially left the Dayton region. Only a Sears Outlet store remains (abet it's an independent affiliate of the struggling company).

Premier Health Partners decided to close Good Samaritan Hospital. The move closes the stable of Northwest Dayton. The hospital is being demolished and it leaves the Salem Avenue region without a hospital. It will affect the area. The area already lost KFC, KeyBank, Taco Bell, United Dairy Farmers and Lee's Famous Recipe.

The former northern branch of Good Samartian in Englewood is now Miami Valley Hospital North Campus.

Food Town, the last staple of grocers in West Dayton announced they're going out of business.

You notice that many restaurants are closing without explanation.

Take IHop.

The popular pancake restaurant made a comeback to Dayton in 2014. It opened three locations in Beavercreek, Huber Heights and Springfield. The company was going to open up two more locations in Vandalia and one near Miamisburg.

And in early 2019, we found out that the restaurant abruptly closed. Many employees were unaware of the decision. They went to work to see that they padlocked the door and regulars who were apparently heading to breakfast were stopped at the door literally.

The Vandalia location was complete and ready for business. The building was idle for a year. Then all of sudden, a local business owner decided to buy the property and convert it. It was briefly called The Wright Cafe. It was open for three months and then abruptly closed. Then the tornado destroyed the building.

IHop locations in Dayton were permanently closed. So I guess they're officially out of Dayton again.

Then you notice that Steak 'n Shake locations were closing their doors without explanation. They were plentiful around Dayton. They had locations in Englewood, Springfield, Huber Heights, Miami Township, Beavercreek, Troy, Vandalia, Moraine and Piqua.

Now all of sudden you see the locations in Englewood, Moraine, Troy, Springfield and Piqua close their doors without warning. They claim that the owner's couldn't pay the franchise fee and they had to lock the doors. The 24/7 business was good for people who leave the bars and have a third shift work schedule.

The Normal, Illinois based business has it corporate headquarters in Indinapolis. The company is struggling to survive. They introduced Doordash and new steak burgers on the menu. They also offers all-day breakfast items.

Steak 'N Shake locations in the United States are closing. Dayton, Ohio stores were affected.

Sardar Biglari, the Iranian-American business executive who bought the struggling franchise has stated that the service is terrible and wait times are atrocious. Some customers have waited for 40 minutes because of understaffing, failed kitchen equipment and lack of opportunities for hires.

His company Biglari Holdings is hoping to turn this around before they go out of business.

The company stated that stores in the United States that abruptly closed are temporary.

Now all of sudden, Tim Hortons are now closing stores. It was announced today that stores in Dayton, Centerville, Vandalia and Miami Township's locations closed. The stores in Huber Heights, Troy, Springboro, Kettering, Beavercreek, Monroe, Fairborn and Englewood were not affected as of yet.

The company stated that the closing is a part of a normal course of business.

Did you also notice that Sonic Drive-Thru locations are closing up in the community. Dayton had three locations close up. There was on in Dayton, Troy and Springfield that suddenly closed.

Dairy Queen on Dixie Drive in Harrison Township has apparently closed. On its sign it says that it's going independent. The other Dairy Queen that was located in Dayton's Belmont neighborhood went out of business over three years ago. It became a local ice cream parlor.
