Would it even matter if Rush Limbaugh does die?
The far-right agitator said on his final 2020 episode that he didn’t think he would make it to Christmas. I mean he is at Stage IV lung cancer and confirms that he has given up on treatments.
Limbaugh, 69 has been the vanguard of conservative talk radio. He was considered the King of Talk. He has been on radio since 1988 and has been an active figure in Republican politics.
He has agitated the left and Democrats from coast to coast. He demonized Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and progressives.
He has picked fights with women’s groups, NAACP, civil rights leaders and a law student by the name of Sandra Fluke.
Never a moment without controversy, Rush Hudson Limbaugh III will forever be a figure that is loved by conservatives hated by progressives.
“You have no idea what you all have meant to me and my family, said Limbaugh. “The day is going to come folks where I’m not going to be able to do this.”
Limbaugh reflected on the many years of agitating.
“I don’t know too many people who enjoyed 2020 -- probably some sickos out there who have -- but 2021 has to be better,” he added, “I wasn’t expected to be alive today.”
The radio host announced he had cancer shortly after his birthday.
He closed the show, which has been on air for more than 30 years, saying, “I wish there was a way to say it other than thank you. You’re the best. My family is just the best. Thank you.” He wished his listeners Merry Christmas and Happy New Year adding, “ Hope the things that are in store for all of us in the coming year are certainly better than what we endured in 2020.”

President Donald J. Trump honored Limbaugh with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in February. It was certainly controversial because he honored a person who never accomplished anything meaningful to America.
Scratch that. He has done the Limbaugh EIB Cure-a-Thon. It was at least one thing he would do for Americans who have leukemia and lymphoma.
Limbaugh also wrote children books and trademarked ice tea.
Limbaugh has also been involved in numerous scandals besides his acid tongue. He was arrested for illegally obtaining prescription drugs oxycodone and hydrocodone (due to him losing hearing). He has a cochlear (bone-anchored) ear drum. He was arrested in Florida for doctor shopping. He was given probation and paid a hefty fine. He admitted that he is human. He admitted he was addicted to painkillers.
He had previously condemned drug abuse. Of course, he attacks Hunter Biden, the son of President-elect Joe Biden.
He also was detained by the DEA with a package of Viagra. It was alleged he was in the Domician Republic having sex with prostitutes and underage girls. He denies the drugs.
But he was ridiculed for having trouble getting it up.
He nearly died in Honolulu. While spending time at his friend’s home in Hawai’i, the agitator had chest pains. His doctors attributed the pain to angina pectoris. He went heart surgery.
He also had an appearance on Family Guy. He has made three appearances on the Fox animated sitcom. He and Seth MacFarlane are friends despite the political differences. In a memorable episode, he inspired family dog Brian (played by MacFarlane) to become a conservative.
Since October, the old fart has been hinting that his days are numbered. He may not make it to 2021.
I know I am going to say this….. But Limbaugh is a part of American culture. He is hated by a lot of people but assured he is loved. Limbaugh will leave a legacy of divisiveness and bigotry.
I would say good riddance to him … but that’s just too mean!
