While most national sports leagues postponed or suspended their seasons, the pro wrestling organizations will continue to do shows without audiences in Florida.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, a staunch ally of Donald J. Trump issued a statewide stay-at-home order this month to slow the spread of COVID-19. But for the hundreds of workers and professional wrestlers, they're now at risk of catching the coronavirus due to their jobs being "essential" for the state.
The WWE, the largest pro-wrestling organization is allowed to resume taping and performances.
Monday Night Raw, a stable of USA Network and WWE Network is resuming taping at the Performance Center in Orlando. There will be no audience and "essential personal" will be only present.

The city of Azalea Park and Orange County condemned the move.
Jerry Demings, the mayor of Orange County and husband of Rep. Val Demings (D-FL) said that DeSantis must think wrestling is an essential business (or a quid pro quo).
"I think there was a review that was done and they were not initially deemed an essential business. With some conversation with the governor's office regarding the governor's order, they were deemed an essential business and so therefore they were allowed to remain open."

Linda McMahon, the former Small Business Administration chief and Trump's reelection SuperPac chief is part owner and COO of the WWE. She and Vince McMahon are good friends with Trump.
The XFL, Vince's second version of the football league abrupted came to an end due to the coronavirus. There is no plans of revising the league.
The WWE and XFL are part of Alpha Sports, Media and Entertainment. It's own by Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque and Paul M. Levesque (aka Triple H).
