North Korean leader Kim Jong-un appears to be in "grave danger" after heart surgery.
The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is in "grave danger" says CNN.

North Korea supreme leader Kim Jong-un, 36 is in grave danger after a surgery, says a U.S. official with direct knowledge.

Kim missed a celebration of his grandfather Kim Il-sung's birthday on April 15, which raised speculations that the dictator was having medical issues. He had been seen four days before that at a government meeting.

Another U.S. official told CNN on Monday that the concerns about Kim's health is credible and they can't determine whether the severity of his medical issues are deadly.

Daily MK, an online newspaper based in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) focuses on the reclusive country. The reports say that Kim had cardiovascular system procedure on April 12.

Kim had a history of obesity, smoking and overwork. Kim has gotten treatment in a villa in Hyangsan County.

After Kim's condition had improved, most of the medical team treating him returned to Pyongyang on April 19 and a few of them remained to oversee the recovery.

The National Security Council and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on the situation. CNN also reached out to the CIA and the State Department for comment and sought comment from South Korea.

They said that intelligence is hard to obtain. The North Korean military intelligence are very clear about motives and techniques done by the U.S. government.

The government of North Korea controls its information surrounding their leader and they treat him like a deity in the country, His absences spark speculation and rumors about his health. North Korea has no free press and is often a black hole when it comes to the country's leadership.

Kim's last appearance was on April 11.

Donald J. Trump met Kim Jong-un twice during his term. The first time he met him in Singapore and then in Vietnam. Both encounters didn't bring forth progress. It just became one of the most forgotten things Trump done in his three and a half years as America's most controversial president.

Trump became the first U.S. president to step over the demilitarized line into North Korea.

Kim is known to be extremely paranoid about his security and maintains a high level of secrecy about his life. Particular concern was given to the possibility of an assassination attempt during the Singapore summit, and the North Korean government went to great lengths to protect him both while traveling to the summit and during his stay.

Kim arrived in Singapore on an American-made Boeing 747, loaned to him by the Chinese government. Reportedly the plane flew a longer route through Beijing instead of through Shanghai over the Yellow Sea, because it is harder to protect a plane over water. Two decoy planes also flew with him, and his sister Kim Yo Jong followed on a separate flight a few hours later.

He also brought along his own chef to prepare his food, personal physicians and medical staff, and even his own portable toilet, to avoid the risk of anyone obtaining and analyzing his stool.
