Rick Ross is once again creating another controversy. The rapper's verse was controversial. He claimed he's date raped a woman. Atlanta based rappers Future and Rocko were featured on the single where he made an inflammatory verse. |
To all reading: Understand that rape is rape! There's nothing funny or creative about it!
Again, Atlanta-based rapper Future came to the hip-hop scene as the guy that done the auto-tune hooks on some of the most popular rapper's songs. He broke on the scene with his various mixtapes and features with big name rappers. His biggest break came through his collaboration with pop singer Rihanna.
After releasing Pluto last year, the rapper is becoming a mainstream act. He and his crew the Freebandz Gang are attracting the Stans. The rapper is working on his sophomore album, The Future Hendrix which its lead single is Karate Chop which features Casino and the remix with Lil' Wayne. The album is slated for summer release.
But every time Future comes out with a new song, the featured guest causes controversy for him. Last month,
Lil' Wayne attracted a bit of controversy by saying on the Karate Chop Remix that he'll "beat that p***y up like Emmett Till". Civil Rights groups demanded that Epic Records pull the verse off the radio.
They've succeeding in getting the verse off the song. Lil' Wayne's representatives had no comment about the issue.
Nowadays, you're hearing Future, Lil' Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, and Rick Ross, get frequent radio spins on the hip-hop stations. Most pop stations are saturated with their songs and features.

It's a part of the business cycle in hip-hop: If you're hot, you're hot!

It appears on Rocko's newest mixtape and it's available for download on

Rozay once again puts his mouth in the wrong place! The Maybach Music Mafia boss runs his lyrics similar to Lil' Wayne.
In a way, Rozay's lyrics come off like he had drugged a woman and took her to his home (to rape her).
That nigga sold you that re-rock, you ain't even know it
I die over these Reeboks, you ain't even know it
Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it
I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain't even know it
Got a hundred acres I live on, you ain't even know it
Got a hundred rounds in this AR, you ain't even know it
Got a bag of bitches I play with, on cloud 9 in my spaceship
Zoned out but he stay fresh from Zone 1 through Zone 6
Bricks all in my blood, birds all in my dreams
Boats all in my yard, lemon pepper my wings
I’m bout to get you fuck niggas wacked, you ain't even know it
Your main nigga bout to turn his back, you ain't even know it
Well some women's groups and the conservative/White supremacist bubble are disturbed by this lyric. Some are demanding that Reebok drop the rapper from the sponsorship.
Doing some serious damage control, the rapper does even more stupid shit.
He goes to the social networks to apologize for his lyrics.
Rick Ross had went to Twitter tweeting, "I dont condone rape. Apologies for the lyric interpreted as rape."
The apology wasn't heartfelt and it begging itself for even more agitating from the junk food media.
Even veteran rappers said on print that Rick Ross and Lil' Wayne have taken their verses a little too far.
Still, the criticism of Ross has continued to mount, with many underwhelmed by his apology. Rapper Talib Kweli called Ross "a misguided 40-year person" during a segment on HuffPo Live, adding: "Rick Ross condoned rape in that song and he shouldn't, and he should apologize, and the apology that he offered was unacceptable."
Kweli also took Ross to task on Twitter, writing: "Its clear from Ross apology that he doesn't understand u don't need to say 'rape' to condone rape . . . Ross needs love and education on this issue. He has a platform that can be used for good, especially if he takes responsibility here."
The controversy has also begun to affect Ross' endorsement deals. Reuters reports that the women's rights group UltraViolet planned to protest outside a Reebok store in Manhattan today, bringing petitions with more than 71,000 signatures demanding the company cut their ties with the rapper. The group's co-founder Nita Chaudhary said Ross "is pushing the idea that if you don't use the word 'rape' it doesn't count. We are fed up and disgusted with Reebok."
Rappers who continue to hold on this mentality of sexism, commercialism, homophobia, and embracing crime and the gun culture are getting hurt in their record sales. The Game learned that lesson after picking a fight with 50 Cent and the conservative turd flipper.
The criticism mounts Rick Ross and it's likely going to take a hit on his "street cred".
Since the Rush Limbaugh/Sandra Fluke incident to the Steubenville rape trial, many women are calling out the sexism. Even
President Barack Obama wasn't immune from criticism.
Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person without that person's consent. The act may be carried out by physical force, coercion, abuse of authority or with a person who is incapable of valid consent, such as one who is unconscious, incapacitated, or below the legal age of consent.
Victims of rape can be severely traumatized; in addition to psychological harm resulting from the act, rape may cause physical injury, or have additional effects on the victim, such as acquiring of a sexually transmitted infection or becoming pregnant. Furthermore, following a rape, a victim may face violence or threats of thereof from the rapist, and, in some cultures, from the victim's own family and relatives.
There are several types of rape, generally categorized by reference to the situation in which it occurs, the sex or characteristics of the victim, and/or the sex or characteristics of the perpetrator. Different types of rape include date rape, gang rape, marital rape, incestual rape, child sexual abuse, prison rape, acquaintance rape, war rape and statutory rape.
"Victim blaming" is holding the victim of a crime to be in whole or in part responsible for the crime.
Rape is a Class 1 Felony in most states. It carries a punishment that could land you in the iron college for life.
In some countries, you could lose your life if you're convicted of rape. And yes, the American justice system has the death penalty for rape in some states.
