"... some people cannot bear the truth, no matter how tactfully it is told. No doubt the haughty, the tyrannical, the unmerciful, the impure and the fomentors of discord take a fierce exception to the Sermon on the Mount." ~ Mary Church Terrell
Take a look at the women whose lives were taken mercilessly by an evil man, neglectful police, and an apathetic public. Those murders would have been prevented had the police and the public done their jobs.
Just like Charlotte P.D. brushed off the concerns of the Black murder victims of serial killer Henry Louis Wallace, the police in Cyprus brushed off concerns of immigrant Filipinas in connection with the missing and murdered women of Cyprus serial killer.
Cypriot police chief fired over the handling of the serial murders of women and children of Color. Good for them. I wished for the same kind of action back in the U.S. where police chiefs and investigators have the tendencies to mishandle serial murder cases involving poor and working class Black women, past and present.
Vigil and protest for the murdered victims as well as to protest violence against women and children in the island nation of Cyprus.
Nikos Metaxas was convicted in connection with a string of murders of young immigrant women and children of Color in the Mediterranean island nation of Cyprus. The discovery of the remains of seven women and children in the toxic lakes of copper mines and shooting range outraged the inhabitants of that island. Protesters took to the streets to demand answers in why the deaths of the women went unreported by the authorities and that the police and government had been slow in searching the missing women and children because they were immigrants and foreign workers. Most of the murdered women were from the Philippines. Two were from Romania. One woman was from either Nepal or India.
These women were attractive, hard working individuals who were improving their lives and their families by working overseas. Women and men from economically disadvantage nations had to take work in richer nations because of economic and social inequality in their home countries. Wealthy countries take advantage of adverse economic conditions of poorer nations by promising women to work in domestic and agricultural jobs. Many of the workers worked in poor conditions without rights. They're poorly paid and are subjected to abuse, deportation, and worse. The case in Cyprus really exposed an exploitative system that allow thousands of migrant women to work as housemaids in conditions that critics have described as modern-day slavery. This exploitative system isn't confined to Cyprus. It's all over the whole world including America.
The women and children murdered are: * Mary Rose Tiburcio, 38, Philippines *Arian Palanas Lozano, 28, Philippines * Maricar Valtez Aquiola, 31, Philippines * Sienna Graze Seucalliuc, 6, Mary Rose' daughter, Philippines * Livia Florentina Bunea, Romania * Elena Natalia Bunea, 8, Livia's daughter, Romania * Unknown woman, either from Nepal or India
Members of the Filipino community in Cyprus held a vigil in honor of the victims
Greek National Nikos Metaxas(inset)murdered 7 women and children over a two-year period.
A lake in Cyprus where the remains of some of his victims were found.
The following article is from the BBC News Network
Nikos Metaxas, 35, plead guilty in court on Monday to 12 charges relating to the abduction and killing of seven women and girls in Cyprus over three years.
In tears, he apologized to the victims' families and said he did not know why he committed the "hateful crimes".
The case, Cyprus's first trial of a serial killer, has stunned the island.
"Cypriot society will be wondering how one of its members reached this point," he told the court in the capital Nicosia, adding: "I have also asked myself why; I have not yet managed to find an answer."
Metaxas said he was willing to assist authorities "in search of those answers".
A candlelight vigil held in honor of the seven murdered victims
The killings took place between September 2016 and August 2018. Of his victims, three of the women were from the Philippines, one from Nepal and one from Romania. Most were working as housekeepers.
The two children were aged six and eight.
The country's police chief was later sacked and the justice minister resigned over the failure to properly investigate following the missing persons reports.
Associated Press Archive. On Monday June 24, A Cyprus criminal court on Monday sentenced an army captain to seven life terms in prison after he pleaded guilty to the premeditated murder and kidnapping of seven foreign women and girls.
In handing down the sentence, the three-judge panel said that Nicholas Metaxas appeared to have mounted a "campaign of murder" in choosing defenceless women, most of whom came to Cyprus looking for work.
The case first came to light in April, when the bodies of two women - Marry Rose Tiburcio, 38, and Arian Palanas Lozano, 28, both from the Philippines - were discovered.
One of the bodies was spotted by tourists down a mine shaft that had flooded following heavy rains.
The discoveries triggered an investigation and, after tracking Ms Tiburcio's online messages, police arrested Metaxas on suspicion of murder.
At first he denied killing a third Filipino woman, Maricar Valtez Arquiola, 31, who was reported missing in 2017, but then changed his testimony and confessed.
Following his arrest, Metaxas showed investigators to a well at an army firing range where the body of one of the victims was discovered.
Authorities then scoured two lakes in the south for two other bodies.
Metaxas reportedly gave police detailed information about how he disposed of the bodies. _____________________________________________________________________ I'm glad justice has been served and that POS served seven consecutive life terms in prison. While the verdict won't bring the victims back to life. This tragedy would have been prevented had the police took the reports of missing women and girls seriously as well as taken the time to thoroughly investigate the crimes. It's a pattern we see involving poor people of Color and Immigrants, time and time again. This needs to stop.
Dwayne Johnson was named People's Most Sexiest Man Alive. Finally a man of color covers the gossip rag.
Again, we have the controversial billionaire/racist/sexist/reality television star coming in as our next president. And of course, the world is mixed. Donald J. Trump built a reputation of being ruthless and of course he was a tabloid favorite. People Magazine was one of the outlets the president-elect often flaunted to. He also flaunted his ego around a woman. He sexually harassed Natasha Stoynoff while she did a story about him at the Trump Tower (I meant the second White House).
People Magazine has covered this from all angles. Unfortunately it didn't sway the Trump supporters.
It may have gave them reason to get this asshole in the White House.
Now People is going to cover the Trump presidency as best as it can.
Now you know last year, I was on a verbal rant about how People Magazine often picks White actors as the most "Sexiest Man Alive" and ignoring men of color.
Me and S. Baldwin along with many others have often wondered why People was ignoring people of color for their sexiest alive issues.
I swear if they were going to put another washed up White actor as their "Sexiest Man Alive", I was going to join the boycott against the magazine.
For the People's Most beautiful people there were only four women of color. You have Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Queen Bey (Beyonce Knowles-Carter) and Lupita Nyong'o.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will grace the cover of People's Most Sexist Man Alive cover for the year 2016. After 20 fucking years, the magazine finally puts the "sexist male" of color on that goddamn magazine.
Johnson is an actor, body builder, WWE wrestler and business mogul. Johnson is born of a Black Canadian father and an Anoa'i Samoan mother. He is a native of Los Angeles and has two children.
Dwayne Johnson has been named People's Sexiest Man Alive, succeeding the British soccer player David Beckham. Previous honorees include Chris Hemsworth (2014), Adam Levine (2013), Channing Tatum (2012), Bradley Cooper (2011) and Ryan Reynolds (2010), among other stars.
NBC's Today announced Johnson had received the title during Tuesday's broadcast.
The actor—who voices the demigod Maui in Disney's Moana, in theaters Nov. 23—was flattered to receive the call. "I said, 'That's awesome.' And then what went through my mind was just how cool and exciting it is," he says. "And then I thought, 'Wow, we've pretty much reached the pinnacle.' I'm not quite too sure where we go from here. I've done it all, this is it."
Johnson is expecting to get some grief from his friends over the title.
"It's coming now. I can just imagine how it's going to be," the former wrestling champion says with a big laugh. "But see, here's the thing: They give me grief, but they all wish. They all wish."
What makes Johnson sexy? "This is the kind of question that gets me into trouble," he jokes. In all seriousness, he says "a sense of humor" is probably the sexiest thing about himself. "And I think probably just not trying to be sexy and just being cool and confident in your movies," the Jumanji actor adds. "I think with a lot of my fans, I've gotten to a very, very cool place where there's a direct line between the man they know off-screen and the man they see on-screen." It doesn't hurt that he's good-looking, either. "It starts with the skin," he says with a laugh.
"We've only got one face," Johnson, 44, adds. "You've got to take care of it. So I exfoliate."
Although I haven't watched the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, I want to give big ups to the two young woman who became a part of American history. Two young African American women achieved a goal that others strived for.
I want to personally congratulate them on their success and their Olympic Gold.

World News Today congratulates these young woman on the Gold Medals in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones are the Ghostbusters.
Who ya gonna call?
Iconic words of a great movie from the 1980s.
The characters Peter Venkman, Egon Spangler, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddmore fight the supernatural in the movie Ghostbusters.
Columbia Pictures rebooted the franchise and it features Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.
Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later, Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. When ghosts invade Manhattan, Gilbert reunites with Yates, teaming up with a nuclear engineer, Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), and a subway worker, Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), to save the world from a mysterious evil and powerful demon known as Rowan (Neil Casey) who can exercise control over human forms.
The trailer is out and the fans are anticipating it being a successful movie. But then there's the critics.
The critics are so brutal towards the movie. I've read some of the most offensive comments aimed at McCarthy and Wiig for ruining the franchise.
So far over 6 million people viewed the trailer and they voted it down. Over 100,000 people voted down on the trailer. It seems like the "originalists" are most brutal critics.
Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Dan Akaroyd are the Ghostbusters.
These people live in their basement with all their collectibles and VHS tapes. They're probably still complaining about how ABC ruined the animated series with too much exposure to Slimer and Dave Coulier playing a role that made a successful voice actor.
The Ghostbusters was an extremely popular comedy/horror film that featured three paranormal scientists investigating unusual activity in New York.
The idea was created by the late Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd. They teamed up with Ivan Reitman to create this movie success. It featured Ramis as Egon Spangler, Akroyd as Ray Stantz and Bill Murray as Peter Venkman. Other characters included Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddmore, Annie Potts as Jeanie Melnitz, Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett and Rick Moranis as Louis Tully.
The Ghostbusters were fired out the cannon at a New York college. They decided that their investigative work would be better done independently. They decided to open up a ghost busting business. The movie was huge success it launched The Real Ghostbusters animated series, Ghostbusters II, Slimer! and the Extreme Ghostbusters.
Dan Akroyd gave his blessing to the movie and said that he, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and semi-retired Rick Moranis might make a cameo appearance.
I’d Loved Before, But Never Like This: It’s not as though there is anything special my daughter, Nisa, is doing. As I write this, she is leaning back, listening to, I don’t know, Future? Drake? But peeking…
Retro television reboot.... As with Disney's Ducktales the possibility of more 80s theme sitcoms and animation are steamrolling into your home.
I got to say that if it wasn't for ABC's The Goldbergs, I wouldn't be so happy to see the past come back. I mean I grew up in the 1980s when television was good. Cable became just a switch box with 40 channels and Saturday mornings were cartoons and cereal.
Now in 2015. If you don't have cable, your mornings will be likely woken to infomercials, Litton educational programs, news blocks, and reality television (i.e. courtroom shows, Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer, and Ellen).
I will blame the Obamas for this only. Last year The CW ended its Saturday morning animation block. That was the last animation block to ever air on a major television broadcaster.
It was the end of an era. While some blame the rise of cable and the numerous other animation shows, I have to blame President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
The Health Eating (Let's Move) Program was a factor. The first lady was concerned that too many children weren't getting enough exercise and eating high calorie foods such as McDonald's.
Full House cast. John Stamos is confirming that a sequel is go.
Now that some of the incentives went into effect, you hardly see any animated commercials featuring General Mills, Kellogg's and Post characters. Matter of fact, you hardly see any animation in commercials.
Walmart, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Pillsbury, Wendy's, and other business decided to cut the cord on the smiley face, Ronald McDonald, Tony The Tiger and the Doughboy.
The networks decided that cartoons were a factor to children being overweight and not exercising.
So in order to meet federal mandates and eliminate a costly time block, they ended the Saturday morning cartoons. ABC, CBS, The CW have partnered with Litton Entertainment. Now on Saturdays you either get a huge news block, infomercials, and this bullshit.
Yeah, I fault Obama for it.
John Stamos, Bob Saget, Mary-Kay and Ashley Olsen. Stamos is pissed that the Olsen twins declined the offer to return to television. They have declined to appear on the Full House reboot.
The genre's popularity declined in the 1990s and 2000s after cable and satellite television, and later the Internet, began providing 24-hour access to cartoons for children. The format has continued in a reduced manner through the present day as a way of meeting educational television mandates.
Minor television networks continue to air Saturday morning cartoons while meeting those mandates (for now).
This issues are the reasons to why Saturday Morning Cartoons are non existent. I am a fan of animation. It gave me a sense of leaving the meaningless and gave me a sense of fantasy. Imagining that I could be the hero or villain in a show. Gave me something to relax to instead of the partisan rancor of politicians. I didn't want to know what goes on in a reality television star's personal life.
But on the bright side, some of the series I've watched are coming back for new seasons.
The Flash is speeding into season two on The CW.
The Odd Couple gets a second season on CBS.
Girl Meets World is on Disney and its a sequel to Boy Meets World. Disney gave it a go for a second season.
Now Full House is Fuller House. And it's going to premiere on Netflix in Fall 2016.
Miller-Boyett Productions, Warner Bros. teamed up again with Jeff Franklin and John Stamos to relaunch the hit sitcom to Netflix. In this edition Candace Cameron Bure (DJ) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) living in a home with their children trying to adjust to being mothers.
The series will feature Stamos (Jesse), Bob Saget (Danny), Dave Coulier (Joey), Jodie Sweetin,(Stephanie), and Lori Loughlin (Rebecca) in supporting roles.
What's missing is Mary Kay and Ashley Olsen. The twin sisters were playing one role, Michelle.
Now the 28 year old sisters have confirmed that it's a "NO GO" for them. For the time being, the feud between them and the rest of cast stems over contractual disputes.
My Tuesday nights are going to be quite different knowing that one of the programs I've watched for three seasons is being axed.
It was critically acclaimed. It was a cult favorite and yet it was low rated.
Fox decides to put an end The Mindy Project.
Mindy Kaling's comedy was put on the watch for years. Fox's cancellation of the show puts the usual void that fans have to paint in their heads.
What will happen now that.....you know!
It left fans wondering what's going to happen now that Mindy and Danny are expecting to be parents. The cliffhanger was Danny introducing himself to Mindy's parents after he failed to see them off.
It managed to pull into syndication so it fulfilled its requirements.
With that being said the many cameos appearances.
Comedy starring Mindy Kaling was cancelled.
Stephen Colbert, Leverne Cox, Niecey Nash, Rhea Perlman, Shonda Rhimes, Vanessa Williams, and Tim Daly were the guests who appeared on the sitcom.
While it's sad that a critically acclaimed program is put on ice, the fact that makes it so great was the fact that an Indian-American writer, producer, comedian had the opportunity to create it.
Maybe there's a possibility that Fox may sell off the show to Hulu. It's up in the air......!
It's also reported that Cristela is out. ABC canceled the freshman sitcom. Cristela Alanzo created, wrote and directed the sitcom. They folks over at ABC put her sitcom on the dead spot (Friday).
Cristela is the first Latina to create a sitcom for a major American network.
The country's worst cable news host gets combative with the lawyer of a family seeking information on woman who may have left the United States to join the Islamic State terrorist group.
Mediaite is right, this annoying conservative agitator's program is by far the worst cable news show to ever be on. To be quite frank with you, he's so annoying, you have to change the channel whenever you listen or watch him.
He and that old fart are so controversial, many national brands avoid them. When that old fart attacked Sandra Fluke on radio, he put a big dent in his well protected armor. Many activists force a boycott on him, this annoying agitator and Glenn Beck. The activists succeeded in getting many brands (i.e. Walmart, GM, McDonald's, U.S. Army, etc.).
The activists are trying to have them pulled from Armed Forces Radio.
Since 2012, the iHeart Media Group is trying to save grace. They know that it's costing a whole lot of $$$$$ to keep these two agitators on. I mean seriously, talk radio is thriving in the Obama years, but its not making money and that's what's killing it.
Chief Roger had a damn good reason to demote this clown to the 10pm slot. His show is too bland.
There's nothing but screaming and vicious name calling on this right wing carnival. The agitator can't even go a day without name dropping President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and everyone who's pissed him off in some way.
Hoda Muthana gave up everything. She fell in love with a man who may have ties to the Islamic State.
The agitator is a walking, talking, word vomit. You have to scoop up enough of it before you lose your lunch.
On occasions, since I am so thankful I have no cable, I often get the opportunity to view this garbage on Mediaite and YouTube.
The moron was talking about the evil "radical Islam" and this American woman who left her home in Alabama to join the Islamic State.
The family of Hoda Muthana are desperately search for their daughter. They pray that she didn't fall in love with a man who may have been inspired by the extremist group.
The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a Muslim civil liberties advocacy organization that deals with civil advocacy. It is headquartered on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., with regional offices nationwide. CAIR is a civil rights group. Their job is monitor extremism from those who may get involved into terrorism. They also monitor hate crimes upon Muslims and all practicing faiths (inspired right wing extremism).
CAIR is very familiar with that guy.
Through media relations, lobbying, and education, CAIR presents an Islamic perspective on issues of importance to the American public, and seeks to empower the American Muslim community and encourage its social and political activism. Annual banquets, through which CAIR raises the majority of its funds, are attended by American politicians, statesmen, interfaith leaders, activists and media personalities.
Critics of CAIR consider it to be pursuing an extreme Islamic agenda.
In 2007 the organization was named, along with 245 others, by U.S. Federal prosecutors in a list of unindicted co-conspirators and/or joint venturers in a Hamas funding case involving the Holy Land Foundation, which in 2009 caused the FBI to cease working with CAIR outside of criminal investigations due to its designation.
The junk food media spooks Americans into believing a handful of men are more dangerous than a natural disaster.
CAIR was never charged with any crime, and it complained that the designation had tarnished its reputation. Following a motion from CAIR and other groups, a federal appeals court sealed the list on October 20, 2010, ruling the designation violated the group's rights and was the result of "simply an untested allegation of the Government, made in anticipation of a possible evidentiary dispute that never came to pass."
CAIR has been criticized numerous times by various officials and organizations. The organization was criticized as pursuing an extremist Islamist agenda, and putting out propaganda.
It has been listed as a terrorist group by the United Arab Emirates.
Hassan Shibly, the executive director of CAIR Florida, was on that right wing carnvial to talk about his representation of the family of Alabama college student Hoda Muthana, who left the U.S. to join ISIS and did an exclusive interview with BuzzFeed.
Shibly said the family is horrified by how she’s now surrounded by an “extremist violent gang of monsters.”
That annoying conservative agitator repeatedly pressed Shibly on why CAIR’s involved and called them a controversial group. Shibly told him to stop changing the subject, and he said, “I’ll ask any question I want, this is my show.”
But it got even more heated when that annoying conservative agitator asked Shibly if Hamas is a terrorist organization. Shibly got annoyed with the fool, and kept saying this is not what he came on to discuss.
As that annoying conservative agitator appeared to wrap up the interview, Shibly said, “Shame on you for just asking every Muslim what he thinks of terrorist organizations.”
Truly another pain inducing interview in which a real serious issue becomes a shouting match.
That annoying agitator doesn't give two fucks about that young woman. All he cares about is trying to expose "radical Islam" and attack President Barack Obama for not saying it.
So are you preparing for the cancellation?
I betcha that he'll be there until 2016. If his show contributes to a Democrat getting elected, he's going to be flying right out of the tent of Loserville studios. The cannon is ready to fire.
Lil' Wayne signs Christina Milian to the YMCMB label.
The Cash Money/Young Money empire is growing. The label helped Lil' Wayne, Birdman, Drake, Tyga and Nicki Minaj into the mainstream with catchy hooks and mainstream album releases.
Some of the veteran acts have decided to save their careers, hop on the label that's making money.
The Game, Busta Rhymes, reality star Paris Hilton and pop singer Christina Milian have decided to saved their washed up careers, they would join the Cash Money label.
Now I'm all for protecting the lives of high profile celebrities. But is Christina Milian a high profile celebrity?
I mean she released three albums on her previous label Island Def Jam. And of the four, one album managed to make her mainstream buzz.
Nowadays she's now a mom. She temporarily gave up the singing and acting to raise her child.
Having a child with confirmed cheater and former Def Jam act Terius Mash (known professionally as The Dream), Milian filed for divorce after rumors of the entertainer cheating on her.
After having a chance to rebound by appearing on Dancing With The Stars, the pop singer announced that she's getting back into the studio with her new crew.
Today, she gets her street cred for allowing her bodyguard smack away a crazed fan. Although the video shows the bodyguard open palm the broad, the video shows that it may land him and Milian in the courtroom if the woman decides to take them to court.
The woman (wearing only a bra and shorts) went after a bodyguard protecting Christina ... and the bodyguard swatted her away with an open palm to the face.
We have no idea who the woman is or why she was upset -- but the video's intense.
Christina was in a great mood on her way into Hooray Henry's ... but the short-tempered security guard definitely led her out in a hurry.
The Comedy Central satirist and fake anchor of The Colbert Report is facing criticism over an apparent knock at Asian Americans. One in particular is a conservative agitator who doesn't even acknowledge her heritage as a Filipino-American.
The turd flipper and her blog finally found racism. There's a movement online to cancel the comedian's show.
The hastag #CancelColbert is springing up on the social networks because apparently Stephen Colbert said something that pissed off the Asian American community.
Suey Park is the creator of the Cancel Colbert movement. She is a well known internet activist and her impact has got the junk food media involved. The feud is ongoing because she felt that even though he's entertaining the audience, his mention of Asian stereotypes have crossed the line.
This seem to grab the attention of the conservative agitator who is known throw racial slurs and insults in the direction of those she disagrees with. The turd flipper continues to be the gadfly of the racist right.
Colbert then addressed the firestorm from his personal Twitter account, and the official "The Colbert Report" account later clarified that Comedy Central, not Colbert or anyone who works for his show, managed that account.
Harping conservative agitator sales her "gotcha moment" website.
Mediaite reports that harping turd flipper Michelle Malkin sold her social "gotcha" website to Townhall.
As an internet savvy activist who launched Twitchy about a few years ago decided to hang up her share in the company.
With that savvy comes her volatile attitude towards President Barack Obama and his family.
Malkin has made no bones about her disgust of the Obama family and she was given plenty of air time on Fox News to inject her venom upon the masses.
Malkin, born to Filipino immigrants denies her heritage and consider her minority standings as irrelevant.
Malkin has a cult-like status among the internet. Her followers will do anything for her. If she post the information of anyone whom she get into a heated debate with, you will expect death threats.
The turd flipper's decision to sale the site to the same company that bought mega-successful Hot Air could be beneficial. Salem Communications wisely kept Ed Morrissey and friends on after that deal, and the Twitchy team is being left in place as well.
Jonathan Garthwaite, general manager and editor-in-chief of Townhall.com, confirmed the news to viral news blog BuzzFeed Tuesday, saying he was “excited” to be folding Twitchy into existing Salem news properties.
“Media Matters types would like to paint conservatives as boring, old white guys,” Garthwaite said. “Twitchy adds more fun and humor to our platform, which will appeal to totally different generation and break that stereotype.”
Rightie website goes for sale.
Launched in March 2012, Twitchy was the brainchild of conservative author and pundit Michelle Malkin, who until now served as owner and chief executive officer. The site is unique in the conservative media landscape for its native social aim, acting as a “Twitter curator” and timelining social media wars between pundits, politicians and celebrities.
…Garthwaite says Malkin will relinquish the title of CEO, but will still be active in promoting the Twitchy brand. He said the nine Twitchy staff writers, disparately located around the country, will not be asked to relocate to the Townhall news offices in Arlington, Va.
Washington Post opinion columnist wrote another aim at the Black community. Could this attack be the end of his longtime career at the newspaper?
Richard Cohen maybe one sentence away from a pink slip after he made an offensive comment about mayor-elect of New York City, Bill de Blasio and his family.
He claims that biracial families make him "PUKE".
As usual, the Washington Post opinion writer pens a piece criticizing Black people.
In turn he's criticizing the interracial family. Bill de Blasio is married to a Black woman.
And he's got a miserable history of inflammatory statements criticizing the Black community in general.
Cohen wrote a column in 1986 which argued owners of jewelry stores were right to refuse to allow entry to young black men because of a fear of crime. This column led to the Washington Post having to apologize.
Following the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the shooting of Trayvon Martin in July 2013, Cohen wrote "a controversial column in which he defends George Zimmerman's suspicion of Travyon Martin and calls on politicians to acknowledge that a disproportionate amount of crimes are committed by black males".
The column went on to say that Cohen "can understand why Zimmerman was suspicious and why he thought Martin was wearing a uniform we all recognize;" in any case, he also points out that:
New York City elected Bill de Blasio as their mayor. Conservative mounted a full scale attack on de Blasio and his family.
"What I'm trying to deal with is, I'm trying to remove this fear from racism. I don't think it's racism to say, 'this person looks like a menace,'" "Now, a menace in another part of the country could be a white guy wearing a wife-beater under-shirt. Or, if you're a black guy in the South and you come around the corner and you see a member of the Ku Klux Klan".
Towards the end of the column, Cohen calls Trayvon Martin "a young man understandably suspected because he was black".
On November 4, 2013, Cohen wrote a column about the much talked about Oscar buzz film “12 Years a Slave”, in which he evinced personal ignorance of the history of slavery in the U.S. and a negative view of abolitionist writer Harriet Beecher Stowe, writing: "Instead, beginning with school, I got a gauzy version. I learned that slavery was wrong, yes, that it was evil, no doubt, but really, that many blacks were sort of content. Slave owners were mostly nice people — fellow Americans, after all — and the sadistic Simon Legree was the concoction of that demented propagandist, Harriet Beecher Stowe."
Shortly afterwards, on November 11, in the course of a column about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Cohen referred to the recent victory of Bill De Blasio as Mayor of New York, writing: "People with conventional views must repress a gag reflex when considering the mayor-elect of New York — a white man married to a black woman and with two biracial children."
This statement was widely condemned.
Anyway, what's your opinion of it?
Me and S. Baldwin explained this multiple times.
Color doesn't matter. As long as individuals share a common interest and love for one another, it's satisfaction. I don't discriminate against a person's race when it comes to relationships.
Cohen is entitled to be a blowhard conservative bigot. He's perfectly fine. I mean after he's fired from The Washington Post, maybe he'll get a job with people he'll feel comfortable with.
They're hiring over at the Loserville Nation, Breitfart and WorldNutDaily.
Bill de Blasio is America's mayor. The new mayor of New York City celebrates a huge victory with his wife, Chirlane McCray. They been together since the 1990s. McCray is openly bisexual.
Hey, we've covered the closely watched political races in Virginia and New York City.
Did you know that two of the candidates running were married to Black women?
Well that's something I want to share with you here on Journal de la Reyna. Me and S. Baldwin have talked about women of color for a long time. The junk food media will be looking forward to meeting the mayor's wife Ms. de Blasio.
Bill De Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr. in Manhattan, New York, the son of Maria (née De Blasio) and Warren Wilhelm. His father had German ancestry, and his maternal grandparents, Giovanni and Anna, were Italian immigrants from the city of Sant'Agata de' Goti in the province of Benevento (where his mother's surname is spelled with a capital "D" — De Blasio).
Chirlane I. McCray is a writer, poet, editor, communications professional and political figure. She has published poetry and worked in politics as a speechwriter. She is married to New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio and is the mother of their two children, Chiara and Dante.
McCray met Bill de Blasio in 1991, when they both worked at New York City Hall for Mayor David Dinkins. At the time, de Blasio was the aide to a Deputy Mayor and McCray was a speechwriter. McCray and de Blasio fell in love, and in 1994, were married in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
Asked about her sexuality, McCray has stated that she hates "labels".
In 2012, when asked about her 1979 essay, she commented: "In the 1970s, I identified as a lesbian and wrote about it. In 1991, I met the love of my life, married him."
McCray and de Blasio are the parents of two children, Chiara and Dante, and live in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Well wishes to the new mayor of New York City.
And even though Libertarian nominee Robert Servis was roundly defeated in the race for governor in Virginia, he at least opened up about his personal life. He is married to a Black woman.
Here's some pictures of Robert Servis' wife.
Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis and his wife Astrid.
According to his campaign website, Robert Sarvis is of mixed-race (White and half-Chinese) and open-minded (supports gay marriage and marijuana legalization). He is well-educated and technologically savvy.
Astrid Servis is a pediatrician originally from Greenville, Mississippi. They are raising two beautiful children in Annandale, Virginia.
Many Republicans blame Robert Servis for being a spoiler in the election. He pulled 8% of the general election vote. The vote could have made a difference in Tea Party endorsed candidate Ken Cuccinelli's bid for the governor's mansion. The Republicans have big problems trying to incorporate people of color into their party.
The only Republican of color in nationally elected office is Tim Scott, the U.S. Senator from South Carolina.
MY PERSONAL TAKE ON INTERRACIAL LOVE
Now I am single. I've been on social networking websites like Facebook, POF, Badoo and OKCupid for dating and social hook ups.
Color doesn't matter to me. As long as the woman loves me for who I am, then I am satisfied with her. I don't discriminate against a person's race when it comes to relationships.
However whenever I see these profiles on the social networks from some saying they don't date "INSERT RACE", I shake my head with disgust.
Single individuals have the right to say their interest in dating. That's perfectly fine. But to say "I DON'T DATE [INSERT RACE]" will guarantee a lifetime of being single.
I understand some don't like overweight people and a particular race. It's understandable. But that shouldn't be a reason for not dating that person. You're negativity will ensure you failure with love.
I mean could it be simple as pie if you just ignore the messages and not engage in contact with the person who you're not suited to. That's if you have such a strong disliking towards that person.
Why on earth would you create a dating profile if not interested in the various individuals who could be your suitor? ______________________________________
President Barack Obama meets with Malala Yousafzai. The young girl became an international figure in the women's rights movement. She was a survivor of a gun shooting at point blank range. In the picture is First Lady Michelle Obama and the president's oldest daughter Malia.
Pakistani girl who was shot at point blank range by terrorists meets President Barack Obama.
Malala Yousafzai, the 16 year old girl who sparked international praise for women's rights in her country is one of the world's most influential figures. The remnants of Taliban has taken over tribal regions in Northwest Pakistan. They've put a hit on her because she stood up to them. She wanted to learn and excel in society.
Islamic conservatives aren't hip to that one. So they decided that a bullet is the only way to shut her up!
They would ambush a school bus. They would shot her at point blank range in the head. They would shot two of her friends before fleeing. The young girl was injured around her left side. The injury partially grazed her skull and bounced off her head. While barely breathing, the young girl fought through surgery to make a full recovery.
British doctors and millions of supporters contributed to her recovery. And now as a victim of gun violence, she been a leading advocate for women's rights and gun control.
Malala Yousafzai (Pashto: ملاله یوسفزۍ [mə ˈlaː lə . ju səf ˈzəj]; Urdu: ملالہ یوسف زئی Malālah Yūsafzay, born 12 July 1997) is a Pakistani school pupil and education activist from the town of Mingora in the Swat District of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
She is known for her activism for rights to education and for women, especially in the Swat Valley, where the Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. In early 2009, at the age of 11–12, Yousafzai wrote a blog under a pseudonym for the BBC detailing her life under Taliban rule, their attempts to take control of the valley, and her views on promoting education for girls.
The following summer, a New York Times documentary was filmed about her life as the Pakistani military intervened in the region, culminating in the Second Battle of Swat. Yousafzai rose in prominence, giving interviews in print and on television, and she was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize by South African activist Desmond Tutu.
Many observers believed that she would be a participant for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The prize went to The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
That didn't disappoint the viberent young girl.
Yousafzai spoke at the UN to call for worldwide access to education, and in September 2013 she officially opened the Library of Birmingham. Yousafzai is the recipient of the Sakharov Prize for 2013.
She kind of endorsed Hillary Clinton, if she should run for president in 2016.
I just don't have any words for it. Although, I laughed at the YouTube video, I also shake my head in disgust over the latest attempt to scare up fundraising.
The video has went viral and drew the ire of liberal agitators.
In the video promoted by the conservative group My Generation Opportunity, a young woman goes into a exam room and out of nowhere comes this cartoonish version of Uncle Sam.
He's appears out of the woman's pelvic region with clips in his hands.
The video has over 1.4 million views and it's crazy.
My Generation Opportunity is group with ties to the Koch family. The Koch family has been an adversary to President Barack Obama and his allies in the progressive movement.
Political dog whistle. What the political ad says is the government is forcing women to have abortions.
David and Charles Koch have promoted libertarian and conservative causes for over 30 years. They've spent millions in promoting the tea party movement.
As health care cost are rising, young Americans often never worry about their health. Well as the implication for the health care law take effect, it will require a majority of individuals to have mandatory insurance or face penalties on their taxes.
The uninsured continue to drain resources. Many Americans spend thousands if not millions of dollars for treatment.
What this YouTube video is telling the public, young voters don't fall into the trap of Obamacare, opt out.
What are you're thoughts on this video and the implications of the Affordable Healthcare Law?
We want to send our thanks to the men and women who fought for our freedoms. We wish those in active duty, our military veterans and the fallen a dedication to their service.
We are still in times of war.
Afghanistan will finally be over in 2014. The battles that the United States must face here and abroad require a great deal of military endurance and expediency.
And while those who volunteered to become our nation's heroes made sacrifices for our children, our wives, our husbands, our mothers and our fathers, you're always told: You'll never be forgotten.
This Memorial Day once again gives us the blessings for a good plate of barbecue, a nice swimming pool, a good drive on our nation's roads, and of course the start of summer. But while we're here in the United States having a day off from the daily routine, you always remember that our military serves 24/7.
If you have to time, say thanks to our brave heroes. The fallen will never be forgotten.
The people who serve in the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marines, the National Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard deserve our thanks on this Memorial Day.
I just watched Bikini Beach movies on ThisTV yesterday afternoon.

Pauline Friedman Phillips dies at 94; original 'Dear Abby'
Phillips, writing as Abigail Van Buren, dispensed wry, no-nonsense advice to newspaper readers around the world for over 40 years. Her identical twin also wrote an advice column, as Ann Landers.
"Dear Abby" is the world's most widely syndicated column, appearing in more than 1,400 newspapers and generating as many as 10,000 letters a week, according to the syndicate.
Dear Abby: "Are birth control pills deductible?"
"Only if they don't work," she answered.
From 1939 until her death, she was married to Morton B. Phillips, scion of the National Pressure Cooker Co. From an office in their Beverly Hills home, she edited the column into her 80s. She started sharing a byline with her daughter, Jeanne Phillips, in 2000 and turned the column over to her two years later.
The improbable saga of "Dear Abby" began in 1955 when Phillips was an affluent homemaker in Hillsborough, Calif., with time on her hands, doing volunteer work and playing mah-jongg. Her twin, who'd just been hired by the Chicago Sun-Times Syndicate to take over the Ann Landers column, began soliciting her help with replies.
Extremely close, the sisters were thrilled to be collaborating, but the arrangement abruptly ended when the syndicate that distributed the Ann Landers column learned of it.
"Having acquired a taste for dispensing advice," as Phillips wrote in her 1981 book, "The Best of Dear Abby," she offered to write a column for the San Mateo Times, but it declined.
When she called the San Francisco Chronicle, she identified herself to feature editor Stanleigh Arnold as a Hillsborough housewife and said she could write a better column than the one the paper published. Intrigued by her brashness, he invited her to stop by sometime.
