Like every time the Grammy's come on, someone who made an impact in the music industry passed away. I mean we are reminded about the tragic death of Whitney Houston. She died on February 11, 2012. Now one of the greatest jazz musicians in the world passed away.
Al Jarreau, the voice behind several hits and the winner of seven Grammy Awards passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 76.
On his official website, the news was confirmed. He died in Los Angeles. He was hospitalized for exhaustion and it forced him off his tour. He would cancel his tour dates and semi-retire from touring.
He death was preceded with family and friends present.
He was a product of Milwaukee. He sang for fun growing up and didn't pursue a music career. He decided to jump into show business when he graduated from college.
Before his death, he apologized to his fans.
"With complete sorrow, Al Jarreau must retire from touring. He is thankful for his 50 years traveling the world in ministry through music --- and for everyone who shared this with him --- his faithful audience, the dedicated musicians and so many other who have supported his effort."
He is survived by his wife Susan and their son, Ryan.
Our late thread is dedicated to Al Jarreau and we mourn his loss.
The Queen Of Soul who gave influence to many of pop music's greatest acts is retiring after her final album is released. Aretha Franklin on a local Detroit television station said that once her album comes out, she will do a final tour to promote it. After that, she will hang up the microphone for good.
Aretha Franklin had been in the business for years. The 74 year old legendary singer said that she wants to spend more time with her grandchildren.
"This will be my last year. I will be recording, but this will be my last year in concert," she told the station. "This is it."
She said that her longtime friend and producer Stevie Wonder is contributing to the album.
Since the age of 19, Aretha had performed shows and released 41 studio albums, 6 live albums, and has numerous hits.
She was born in Memphis as Aretha Louise Franklin. Her father was a local preacher and her mother is a piano player. According to the stories, Aretha was abandoned by her mother and her dad was charging his player's card.
Her mother passed away. It inspired her to sing. She started signing solos at the church and people were noticing. Her dad decided to get into show business.
Six decades in the music business. The music veteran became the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
"I feel, very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from, and where it is now....but I'm not going to go anywhere and just sit down and do nothing. That wouldn't be good, either," she added. leaving the door to a limited schedule.
It was reported that Aretha Franklin declined an offer to perform at the inauguration of fuhrer Donald J. Trump.
Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh welcome triplets to the family.
Mega producer and reality television star Pharrell Williams and his wife welcome triplets to the family. The couple have a son, Rocket who is eight years old.
Helen Lasichanh had given Pharrell the best gift in the world. The former "The Voice" coach confirms to Vanity Fair that he and Helen are "happy and healthy!"
Pharrell and Helen got married in October 2013. In September 2016, the couple confirmed a pregnancy when she stepped out showing a baby bump.
Right now, Pharrell is up for an Academy Award for his "Hidden Figures" soundtrack. He was nominated previously for "Happy".
The queen of pop and R&B confirms she is pregnant. This time she is expecting twins.
On her official Instagram page, Beyonce announced that she is proud to be carrying two new additions to her family.
"We have been blessed two times," said Beyonce.
Beyonce known also as Queen Bey is married to RocNation media mogul and rapper Jay-Z.
They have a daughter named Blue Ivy.
The world reacts to the news of pop music's biggest star with joy and the trolls of course dog on her for being a vehement supporter of Hillary Clinton and Black Lives Matter.
Chrisette Michele faces a backlash for going to the fuhrer's inaugural.
Motown artist Chrisette Michele is facing a backlash for her performance for the fuhrer.
She didn't perform for Donald J. Trump. However she did perform at the inaugural balls.
Many of her family and friends have disowned her and her fans are calling for a boycott of her music because she decided to perform on the grounds of unity.
The singer lost her spot with director Spike Lee. He nixed the idea of using her songs on his Netflix series.
Of course, many also threw death threats her way.
The singer even said that Trump ignored her after the performance.
"Originally I was supposed to perform directly after his first speech, and I had done that with Barack Obama before, so I was used to that kind of experience. And the woman who organized the event came and told me, 'Now you're going to go first and he's going to go after you'. I looked her in the eye and said, 'My family has disowned me. If you decide to Google me, you'll see that America is writing about me in their newspapers. I'm the black poster child for discord right now, and he's not going to shake my hand?' So no, I didn't get to meet him."
Michele said that the Women's March is an example of the power that drives her to sing. She supports the march.
Well one face I don't have to look forward to seeing is the aging Black conservative agitator who once was a man's fantasy girl. The political agitator and actress Stacey Dash got fired out the cannon.
Dash, George Will, Cal Thomas and Ed Roĺlins were loaded into a cannon and fired out of it.
The folks over at the Trump supporting Fox News Channel decided that these agitators will not have their contracts renewed. Their services are no longer needed at Fox.
Dash, 50 caused a great deal of controversy during her three years at the network. She had said some foul shit about Jay-Z, Beyonce, former president Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Prince, Jesse Williams, Jada Pinkett Smith and Colin Kaepernick.
She was a huge supporter of the fuhrer.
They hired a white extremist named Nigel Farage as a contributor to the network.
Black Twitter is enjoying every moment of this. They say that karma came a bit this beeyotch in the ass.
Remember former Fox president Roger Ailes said that she was the "black girl"
Dash was best known for being in the movie and television series Clueless. Also had a role in Mo' Money and was a video vixen in Rick Ross, Kanye West and The Game music videos.
Dash is officially a washed up celebrity for those who didn't know. And her politics are like Sarah Palin, tired and played out.
Whine with Tomi. This blonde beeyotch is becoming more mainstream by Black entertainers Trevor Noah and Charlamagne Tha God.
Since The Daily Show host Trevor Noah's interview with conservative troll (alt-right darling) Tomi Lahren, many people are seeing her as a potential threat to journalism and social integrity.
To go so blind with accusations against people she barely knows is one thing. To reward her with book deals and a television show spewing racially charged rhetoric is another.
Lahren is about to leave The Blaze network soon. She is gunning for bigger opportunities now that her man-crush fuhrer Donald J. Trump won the election. She, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, Alex Jones, Michael Savage, and Sean "Softball" Hannity are doing a gloating tour. Her most famous outburst was the nasty comparison of Black Lives Matter to the Klan. She believes that the BLM's protesters are similar to the Klan.
She also took aim at Beyonce, Jay-Z, Colin Kaepernick, Jesse Williams and others.
Lahren is a "Hop-Hop Republican" as she describes herself.
Her most recent feud is involving Wale, a Washington, DC, rapper who is closely associated with Miami rapper Rick Ross.
Wale was addressing Lahren by song by calling her "Tammy" instead of her actual name. He was trying to subliminally call her out for her negative compassions of Black leaders by saying her name wrong.
The alt-rights hate us
Some back baby mommas hate us
We only learn half of the drama, other side crazy
On behalf of Charlemagne I'm sure he ain't trading sides
Maybe I should meet Tammy Lahren, I'll Lauryn Hill her
Trainor, she miseducated anyway
Prolly hate the color of my face
Lahren took the bait and she's been feuding with Wale ever since.
So if you're gonna put someone in a song...diss 'em.. perhaps get their fricken name right next time @Wale
Now Raw Story and many other outlets are digging into her past. Her past was full of teenage joy and first year college scenarios. She was then a raging liberal before she became a darling of the white extremist movement.
Syracuse University student Matt Gehring uncovered a series of videos from Lahren's University of Nevada-Las Vegas days, where she hosted a political roundtable show on UNLV-TV called "The Scramble."
In the 2014 videos, Lahren (whose signature shout-at-the-camera approach is noticeably absent) can be seen acknowledging the scientific consensus that climate change is real, and advocating for lawmakers to address the “multi-dimensional issue” of gun violence.
"Despite this cold snap, scientists have reached a consensus: climate change is occurring," Lahren said in one video. "What are we going to do about it is the controversial question we will address here today."
In 2017, Tomi calls everyone snowflakes and fragile. But in 2014, Tomi hosted this civil discussion about slurs and their place in society. pic.twitter.com/ed31Be9e5k
Tomi won't mention the words "gun control" without blaming Islam. But she calls it a multi-dimensional issue here, with no mention of Islam. pic.twitter.com/evDEUVbdPc
As Gehring points out, while Lahren today "won't mention the words 'gun control' without blaming Islam," in college she managed to get through an entire segment on the nuances of gun violence without mentioning the religion.
"We need to understand that it's a multi-dimensional issue,"she said in 2014. "So anytime you have a rampage or school shooting, it's not caused by one thing. It's not cause by the gun, it's not caused by the violent media or video games, it's not caused by mental health—anything entirely. It's a multi-dimensional issue so it needs to be addressed from all angles."
So far, the troll responded to videos with the words,"So!"
Lahren doesn't apologize for her past. All she cares about is basically getting attention and spewing her rants.
I didn't watch the Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's on ABC. I enjoy the antics of Ryan Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy and Fergie. But sometimes, I just get tired of watching celebrities and couples making out at the stroke of midnight. I get tired of staying up to celebrate another year of being single, having lack of trust towards people and the disgust of the fuhrer coming to power in less than 18 days.
And I happened to miss the entertainment scandal of 2017.
Mariah Carey had another "break-break down."
The junk food media criticized her performance at the Rockin New Years as terrible.
Accusations of lip-syncing surround her and she claimed that ABC and Dick Clark Productions sabotaged her.
Dick Clark Productions slammed the accusation as absurd.
The New York Times report that the performance was a trainwreck. Malfunctions left her at a loss vocally during her hit song, "Emotions," struggling to reach notes and to sync the lyrics and music.
The trouble continued when she gave up on another her best known numbers, "We Belong Together," while a recording of the song continued to play, a confirmation that she had been lip-syncing.
This comes as no surprise that in July 2001, Carey had a nervous breakdown and was nearly suicidal.
Conservative outrage will continue to linger even when Fuhrer Donald J. Trump takes over. As the transition team prepares for the inaugural balls, they finding hard to get some major talent to show up.
With the fuhrer grabbing the world by the pussy, many actors and singers are distancing themselves from the balls. Of course, the conservatives are bemoaning about it.
Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, Garth Brooks, Elton John, Andrea Bocelli and other mainstream A-listers turned down a request to perform at the ball.
Even some B-list performers are cancelling and bailing out at the last minute.
The Radio City Rockettes are scheduled to perform and Broadway isn't happy about this.
Matter of fact, some of the Rockettes aren't happy about it as well. One of them voiced frustration that she's obligated to perform.
Jackie Evancho and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir are confirmed performers. DJ Chris Styles of SiriusXM's hip-hop/R&B station The Heat will deejay at one event. He hasn't confirmed any changes yet.
Fuhrer Trump vents off to social media.
The so-called "A" list celebrities are all wanting tixs to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary, NOTHING. I want the PEOPLE!
Divas take a photo op. The fuhrer and bitch boi Kanye West meet.
The meeting of two minds. One is a controversial rapper/producer/reality television star/bitch boi who married a controversial reality star who got famous off a sex tape. The other is a controversial billionaire racist/sexist/pussy grabbing/immature reality television star who will be the first Fuhrer of The United States.
After being spotted donning a shade of blonde, Kanye West emerges from his mental breakdown even more nuttier. West and wife Kim Kardashian have suffered setbacks. Wifey was robbed of her jewels and tied up in the bathroom while vacationing in Paris. She has taken a break from reality television and social media.
West had a bipolar breakdown. He was in Los Angeles getting treatment. When he left the hospital he hopped on a plane and headed to the second White House in Manhattan to meet with fuhrer in waiting Donald J. Trump.
The guy who went off script by saying "George Bush doesn't care about Black people" is buddying with the guy who once demanded President Barack Obama show his birth certificate.
Trump is in a honeymoon period. He hasn't gotten used to the responsibilities of being in charge of a country with 330 million people. About 1/2 of the country hates him and his Christian extremist partner Mike Pence.
This photo op on Tuesday gives the impression that he's desperately trying to reach out to Black voters.
West even teased the idea that he could be the next fuhrer in eight years. We all know that Trump is likely going to win reelection based on how weak and spineless the Democrats are.
I mean he pulled at least 10 percent or more of the vote.
I didn't vote for him.
I didn't buy Kanye West's album or even wasted time downloading it.
John Legend who supported Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama was not happy about the photo op.
West had went after former mentor Jay-Z at a concert and bashed Queen Bey.
Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O'Grady star in Fox's STAR. The Lee Daniels drama is greenlight for eight episodes and it features Queen Latifah and Lenny Kravitz.
Fox greenlights a new Lee Daniels drama called Star. It features the newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O'Grady as three young women who want to become singers no matter the price.
Lee Daniels and co-producer Tom Donaghy wrote this drama about a tale of the music business and how it's not all easy for the gifted.
Three newcomers who auditioned for the roles.
Star played by Demorest is a street smart woman who was brought up through the foster care system and decides to take control of her destiny. Star gets in touch with her sister Simone (played by O'Grady) and her best friend from social media Alexandra (played by Destiny) and they take a roadtrip to Atlanta to become superstars.
It also features rapper/singer/actress Queen Latifah as Carlotta Brown, the owner of an Atlanta beauty salon who becomes a surrogate mother to the three young women. She's highly religious and doesn't approve of their musical ambitions.
The series is a backdoor pilot from the hit musical drama Empire.
The series will air during the Empire break and if its a success, we'll see more of Star.
The official premiere will be on January 4th. Are you looking to be the next STAR?
The stress of publicity has both Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian West going to the medical ward. I guess Kid Cudi isn't the only one suffering from suicidal thoughts.
Yeezy may have dabbled with the snow and spazzed out. His publicist denies that he's drugging.
They publicly said that he's "bipolar" and he's just real "sensitive" on the ordeals of his wife.
The controversial rapper/producer/bitch boi Kanye West had a nervous breakdown after he attacked Jay-Z and Queen Bey for not being on his side. He also told fans in Sacramento that he didn't vote but he would be willing to give the fuhrer a chance.
West canceled the shows after he had to be rushed to the hospital for undisclosed reasons.
After all, his wife was jacked up in Paris and hasn't been on social media since. I read that she was going to have a comeback ceremony. I guess that was scrapped.
There's trouble in West Kardashian and I am assuming that Yeezy might want out.
Who knows what's going on in the mind of Kanye West?
I believe he was robbed of his brain cells and they're holding ransom to them.
In the late thread, we'll pay tribute to soul singer Sharon Jones. We just learned she died of pancreatic cancer. Jones was the leader of the soul group The Dap Kings.
The band announced the tragic news tonight.
Sharon Jones passed away. She was the lead singer of The Dap-Kings.
Jones was born in North Augusta, South Carolina and was the youngest of six children. Her parent gave her motivation. As she was a regular at the church, Sharon would enter talent shows and try out for bands as a background vocalist. While she was dreaming of being a singer, she spent days watching the interns at Rikers Island and being an armored car guard for money loads.
Sharon would get her break in the 1990s. In 1996, she would got a chance to break into the music scene with her 2002 debut Dap Dipping with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
She was nominated for a Grammy in 2014. Sharon and her group's last album Give the People What They Want was a critically acclaimed album.
Throwback of the night. It's a song from then Motown act Horace Brown.
The song "One for the Money". His hit from the mid-90s.
When you're down, get yourself up! Don't let this controversial billionaire/racist/sexist/reality television star winning the election bring you down. Let your anger turn into activism. I mean let it be known that you're American and you want your country back!
You don't tolerate racism, bigotry and hate.
Now Republicans will experience the wrath of progressives and Democrats who are fucking tired of obstruction towards President Barack Obama.
I warn the Democrats. Don't go soft on the incoming president. Treat him and his family like they've did the Obamas.
Find out where Republicans are holding town halls. Make sure you get your facts together and then shout them down like the Tea Party did to the Democrats.
Make your voice great again. Get out there and protest the Republicans and their standard-bearer.
"One for the Money. Two for the show. Three to get ready! Here we go!"
Here's one of my favorite songs from The Gap Band.
It's the single "Party Train".
Don't be discourage about the Donald Trump victory. Celebrate that now it's Republicans who will face the wrath of progressives seething with vengeance.
I feel the need to give you some honest listening while we are dealing with the disaster that's coming to Washington, DC in January. I will do my best to give you my honest take on the issues in my community, my country and of course the corrupt Donald Trump ass kissing junk food media.
I want to be the fierce opposition to the reality television star who is slated to become the 45th President of the United States.
I want to make sure that we're spreading the honest discussion about how to take back Congress and the 2020 presidency. Right now I have no suitable candidate from the Democratic Party capable of stopping Trump.
It's gonna be a tough 4 or 8 years of dealing with the oldest living president. He represents the party of White people and old farts.
The Democratic Party nominated Barack Obama twice. He became the first African American president. He managed to serve two terms as the President of the United States. Now, he's passing the baton to his predecessor.
Today, could be a historical moment in history. The Democratic Party nominated the first woman to represent their party. And today Hillary Clinton could become the first woman president.
In Philadelphia, the president, Clinton and Jon Bon Jovi came together for a rally. They had her husband former president Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea, First Lady Michelle Obama and the Boss himself Bruce Springsteen aid their rally.
Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen together with Hillary Clinton.
Clinton very upbeat after the FBI distraction. The FBI found no wrongdoing in the Clinton server.
Clinton was nominated in Philadelphia after a brutal primary fight against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). He was the most formidable challenger she ever had. He forced Clinton to take a hard left stance on most issues and is facing increased pressure to keep her word.
Donald Trump and his allies are hoping to pull an upset against Clinton.
Celebrity firepower is in effect. Conservatives are outraged by Hollywood's 2:1 support of the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
They're outraged over the guests who came to perform in Ohio for Clinton.
Jay-Z came to Cleveland yesterday for a special performance. The media mogul performed a free show for the Clinton presidential campaign. He even brought his wife Queen Bey to the show. The concert was a get out to vote rally for young and Black voters.
"I don't have any ill will toward [Donald Trump], but his conversation is divisive...he cannot be our president."
Clinton is trailing Trump in Ohio by 3 points. It's a last ditch effort to get out to vote.
Ohio is the crucial swing state for Republicans and Democrats alike. No Republican ever won the White House without carrying the Buckeye state. Ohio's 18 electoral votes are necessary for Trump, not so much for Clinton.
Donald Trump's allies were none to happy about Jigga's performance. They believe that Jay and Bey are anti-cop, anti-White, elitists and of course, "UPPITY NIGGERS".
This week, Republican country music fans were outraged over Queen Bey's performance at the Country Music Awards. They were blasting the CMAs for allowing this "thug" on the stage.
CMAs also faced scrutiny over allegedly scrubbing the footage of the concert.
Trump's Black support is currently at 5% by most accounts. He has the Omarosa, Diamond & Silk, Wisconsin sheriff David Clarke, Kevin Jackson, Don King, Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman's support.
One Black Trumper is not happy about this.
Darrell Scott, a Cleveland Heights pastor who supports Trump blasted the decision to host Jay.
He called the media mogul a drug pusher and a slime to the Black community. Scott hosted Trump and Sean "Softball" Hannity for a town hall on Black issues. The audience was packed with White folks.
Lou Dobbs claimed that Clinton allow Jay perform his songs with the N-word.
Trump says he doesn't care. He could pull massive crowds without Jay-Z and Beyonce or whoever else she pulls in.
His performance at the Cleveland State University was big.
Clinton also dismissed the criticism from the right. She basically said that she's got a better ground game in courting voters.
Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the Country Music Awards to perform a duet with The Dixie Chicks, Wednesday.
The queen of pop and the country music trio started off their set by giving a shout out to Texas. They all grew up in Texas. They collaborated for a remix to Daddy Lessons. The album comes from Lemonade, the visual album.
The audience were on their feet when Queen Bey performed.
Many country music stations refuse to play the song because they don't believe it's a country music song.
The song went viral. Now it's streaming its way to Billboard's top spot in not only mainstream but country.
Many in the audience didn't expect Beyonce to appear at the awards. Brad Paisley confirmed Queen Bey's appearance in the second hour of the show.
Jay-Z is coming to the crucial swing state of Ohio to perform a "get out to vote" concert for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. It's going to be a free concert in the 'Land.
The media mogul said it's time to make it happen. He will be doing the performance on Nov. 4.
The tickets are free and it will be probably gone before it is launched. There's no additional details at this moment but it's going to be big.
Also a warning to those attending. Don't buy the tickets from scalpers. This is a free concert. The Cuyahoga Board of Elections and the Ohio Attorney General warns of scams.
It's big in Cleveland. The Ohio city hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA victory. The Cavs are starting off their season hoping to defend their title.
The Cleveland Indians are right now playing against the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. Hopefully one of these teams break away from the curse. Cleveland was the place where Donald Trump was nominated as the Republican leader.
The Jigga man is certainly going to an agitator who singled him out recently.
Jay-Z pissed off alt-right agitator Tomi Lahren.
I missed this feud but I will give a short rundown of it.
Tomi Lahren, the internet's right wing vixen went to war with Mr. Carter and his wife, Queen Bey.
She had called them out for being enablers of Black crime and demanded the two to stop crying about racial grievance.
"Your husband was a drug dealer. For 14 years he sold crack cocaine".
Jay-Z hopped on Pusha T's track and let Lahren have it. On Drug Dealers Anonymous, the rapper said that "Bitch, I've been brackin since the eighties. Google me, baby: You'ze crazy".
Tomi Lahren will likely go after Jay-Z for playing to the Black vote.
