Ivan Diaz Is Considering Taking On Hillary Scholten!

Time for a change.

Sen-elect Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI) is becoming a formidable force in changing the status quo. He is the first Muslim and Egyptian American to be elected as senator of Michigan.

His win broke barriers.

His win also opened up wounds that came to fruition.

Rep. Haley Stevens (I-MI) is officially a washed up politician. Her last minute attempt to sabotage El-Sayed in the final days has now isolated her from the Democratic Party.

Now Democrats are laser focused on primarying distractions. Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-MI) is now one of the 50 members the progressives have in their sights.

The West Michigan lawmaker has become a major distraction. Her refusal to endorse El-Sayed and quiet whisper to Michigan voters to abstain from voting has now made her a target to defeat.

Ivan Diaz has seen it all and has had enough.

In a video posted on X, he had addressed the generational issues that has affect the working class. He said that the incoming state Democratic leader, the mayor of Grand Rapids and Scholten (all withheld endorsements of El-Sayed) show the lack of fortitude.

He is talking with family and local activists. He is seriously considering a serious primary challenge against Scholten.

Diaz, aligned with the progressive wing of the party, argues that recent Democratic electoral victories are not enough. He has criticized Scholten's moderate policy stances, specifically pointing to her legislative record regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), law enforcement, and her campaign funding from organizations like AIPAC.

Diaz did not limit his primary targets to Scholten. He also urged progressives to launch primary challenges against other local Michigan figures, including Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand and State Representative John Fitzgerald.

Scholten was first elected to Congress in 2022 and just successfully secured her reelection. Scholten has previously defended her centrist approach, stating that Midwest voters are generally hesitant to embrace far-left platforms like abolishing ICE or defunding law enforcement.

Diaz, who previously served on the Kent County Board of Commissioners, also ran unsuccessfully in the August Democratic primary for Michigan’s 29th Senate District.

Enjoy this victory. Hillary Scholten, this could be your last term as Michigan U.S. House member. The progressives are vowing to oust her in 2028.

He outlined three priorities for progressive organizing: increasing union membership, establishing community mutual aid networks and challenging elected officials at the local, state and federal levels.

Diaz also criticized elected officials who supported newly elected U.S. Sen. Abdul El-Sayed but have not embraced the progressive policies he advocated during his campaign.

“Yes, many people, many electeds [sic], endorsed people like our new Sen. Abdul-Sayed, but many of those same people — electeds [sic] specifically who supported Abdul — are not fighting for the policies that Abdul ran on,” Diaz said.

Other Democrats have also questioned the party’s leadership following Tuesday’s elections.

El-Sayed, who defeated Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, has also declined to commit to supporting Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York, for another term.

“I do believe we need new leadership and I think people are hungry for it,” El-Sayed told The Associated Press.

Hasan Piker has vowed to oust Scholten, Josh Gottheimer, Wesley Bell, Jared Moskowitz, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, George Latimore, Ritchie Torres, John Fetterman, Chuck Schumer, Jacky Rosen and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Piker, the most streamed progressive agitator is feeling like a winner. He is now planning on pushing for future candidates to oust pro Israel status quo Democrats.
