The former Brooklyn Center cop who shot Daunte Wright is on the stand right now. I bet you money this woman will turn on the waterworks in order to sway a jury. The defense is going to make the victim, the bad guy and of course, they'll make her a "happy wife, mother and respectful peace officer."

The shooting of Daunte Wright happened shortly after they convicted the dirty cop who murdered George Floyd. The incident happened in April 2021. The shooting was capture on the body camera of the three cops who pulled Wright over. They pulled him over for expired tags and some other minor offense. They found he had a bench warrant for misdemeanor firearm charge.

The defense will try to cast Daunte Wright as the party responsible for his own death.

Thus, they tried to arrest him and he got out of their grip. The cop would threaten to use a taser on Wright.

She yells, "Taser, Taser, Taser!" and thus shot him directly in the chest with her service weapon. Wright would accelerate his vehicle and crash into a car and tree. The cop realized she shot him with the service weapon and thus didn't bother rendering aid. 

The cop would soon resign to avoid a police accountability hearing. She would be soon arrested in five days after the shooting. She is now facing up to 40 years in the iron college if convicted. The suspect is now trying to justify her shooting Wright by saying that it was an accident and the use of self-defense.

She will claim that despite shooting him, she was using self-defense to protect the fellow officers.

The defense will try to at least justify a short term if convicted. The prosecution will pursue a hefty bid because she knew what she was expected to do as a police officer. She also knew the difference between her deadly weapon and non-lethal weapons. 

The suspect is tearing up when describing her encounter with Daunte Wright.

The trial will be shortly wrapping up. They should be getting ready for closing arguments soon. 

I didn't get much opportunity to follow the trial, but they heard from Daunte's parents, his girlfriend, members of the community, the person who had their vehicle damaged in the accident caused by Daunte being shot in the chest and other officers.

The suspect will be cross-examined and given an opportunity to show the jury that she's not a murderer.
