An Idaho sheriff is facing calls for his resignation after he pulled a gun on a van of churchgoers who at his home to leave a secret Santa gift.

The officials call upon him to step down after he aimed a gun at this church youth group who wanted to thank him for his years of dedicated serve to Bingham County.

The Shoshone-Bannock tribe condemned the Idaho sheriff.

Sheriff Karen Rowland, 62 was allegedly pulling a church van driver by the hair at gunpoint. 

The incident happened on Nov. 9 when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints girls' group were going door-to-door to leave "thank you" messages for community leaders.

A group of girls aged between 12 and 16 had placed a note on the sheriff's door.

The girls were getting back into the vehicle when the asshole waved down the driver with one hand while brandishing a firearm. He would point his firearm at the victim --- who he known for over 30 years -- and at two girls before demanding the woman "get the fuck out the car."

The Idaho State Journal reported this disturbing incident and it had the police report.

The sheriff pulled the woman by her hair and pointed the firearm close to her head. 

After the victim said that she was dropping off anonymous Thanksgiving cards, the sheriff told the group to never approach their home again before letting them go.

He admitted to holding the woman a gunpoint and was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

The case became a national issue when the sheriff made a racist remark to the whole ordeal. He said that the group could have been "drunk Indians." The Native American tribal agencies were not happy about the remarks.

The Shoshone-Bannock nation had condemned this as a racist remark.

He defended his actions.

Mormon girls.

"I have been doing this job for 36 years, I've had drunk Indians drive down my cul-de-sac, I've had drunk Indians come to my door. I live just off the reservation, we have a lot of reservation people around us that are not good people."

The members of the church were not affiliated with the Shoshone-Bannock group.

The tribal groups along with the Bingham County board leaders call for him to get out of the way.

"I hope that our current sheriff would again consider resignation as an option to allow Bingham County to begin the healing process," said Bingham County prosecutor Paul Rogers in a statement. "(At) some point the damage to the Sheriff's Office becomes irreparable regardless of the outcome of the newly-filed case."

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.

And I am getting fucking tired of white nationalists and their enablers of color complaining about the lack of Black fathers. The fathers are either killed by gun violence, police violence, COVID-19, heart diseases, diabetes, freak accidents and just being Black in America.
