Elf Wants Back On The Shelf!

Jeff Sessions wants to continue the status quo. He is running for his old seat in Alabama.
Alabama's most controversial candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate is about to have a challenger who is equally controversial.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions is back in the running. Sessions wants to reclaim his U.S. Senate seat he gave up to become Donald J. Trump's top cop. He was fired out the cannon in 2018 after Trump got fed up with Sessions during the Mueller investigation. Sessions who admitted misleading Congress about his conversations with Russian operatives recused himself from the investigation.

Trump was infuriated with this. He was trashing Sessions privately and publicly on social media. He finally decided to put an end to the misery by firing him quickly. He replaced him with William Barr, a former attorney general who served under George H.W. Bush.

Alabama is a state that gave Trump one of the most highest support. But in 2017, they elected Doug Jones, an out of nowhere Democrat trounced the Trump-supported former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore.

Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III was the 84th Attorney General of the United States. He served only a measly year under Trump. He was a senator from 1997 to 2017.

Trump said that nominating Session was the biggest mistake of his presidency.

Said that Sessions' leadership was a total joke.
Ernie The Keebler Elf. Many on the left and right mock Jeff Sessions as the Keebler Elf.
Sessions said that he's going to jump into the race despite warnings from Trump, Mitch McConnell and Kay Ivey. He said that he's Alabama's "favorite son" and will be the best candidate to beat Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL).

Jones is the most vulnerable Democrat running in 2020. He is trying to distance himself from the national Democrats and turning to residents of the state. Jones should be crediting Black women for putting his ass in the Senate. They turned out strongly for him.

Sessions appeared on white nationalist programming to discuss his intentions to run for the seat.

"As everyone know, President Trump and I had our ups and downs. But here's the important part: the President is doing great work for America. When President Trump took on Washington, only one Senator out of a hundred had the courage to stand with him: me. I was the first to support President Trump. I was his strongest advocate. I still am. We must make America great again."

Sessions was the first U.S. Senator to come out in favor of Trump.
Trump bashed Jeff Sessions shortly after he recused himself in the Mueller probe.
The reasons for the support was Trump's ridicule of immigrants and the proposal for building a border wall that Mexico is going to pay for. Turns out that Mexico isn't paying for the wall, it's the taxpayers.

Sessions said he was honored to serve under Trump for that 16 months as the Attorney General of the United States.

Eric Holder served six years and Loretta Lynch served 20 months. The two served longer than Sessions. The reason why Lynch was less than 20 months was Republicans obstructing her nomination in 2014. Matter of fact, Janet Reno served the entire eight years under Bill Clinton.

Alberto Gonzalez, Michael Mukasey and John Ashcroft both served longer than Sessions.
