While we await the results of the presidential election, we are expecting unrest.Today show host announced he has prostate cancer and it’s Stage II.
Al Roker, an American media personality, news presenter, weatherman, writer, actor and director told Today show that he will undergo surgery following his diagnosis.
The beloved media personality said it was discovered during a routine medical checkup.

“It’s a good news-bad news kind of thing,” he said. “Good news is we caught it early. Not great news is that it’s a little aggressive, so I'm going to be taking some time off to take care of this.”
Roker said he wanted to go public about the illness saying that 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetime. African American men get it between 1 in 7 and is more deadly.
Roker will take time off Today for surgery. He will let the public know his progress.
His wife, ABC News journalist Deborah Roberts is his fiercest supporter and advocate.
The Rokers said that they don’t want sympathy and pity. They want to say that they’ll do whatever it takes to beat cancer and they appreciate the love from his fans, his NBC family and colleagues on the other networks.
