Jamal Barrow (known as Moses Michael Levi Barrow) once was known as Shyne. 

Bad Boy is a notorious record label for bad luck streaks. Mase (Mason Betha) became a Christian pastor. Loon (Amir Junaid Muhadith p/k/a Chauncey Hawkins) became a Sunni Muslim. He was in federal time out for trafficking narco. He is being watched for possible ties to the Islamic State. And Barrow is a Jew.

Bad Boy done turned these guys to religion.

The infamous rapper who signed to Bad Boy Entertainment in 1997 and released his self-titled debut Shyne on the label. The guy who sounded like Biggie Smalls and gained notoriety for being a replacement to the late rapper. 

Shyne took a bullet literally for Sean “Puffy” Combs. Back in 1999, Combs (known as Diddy) was dating Jennifer Lopez, the pop singer and media mogul. Shyne and Combs got into an altercation with a group of men and I guess Shyne fired a shot and it led to a riot inside the club.

Shyne blames Combs for the problems he faced in the states.

Three people were injured. Shyne was charged with reckless endangerment, attempted murder, and owning an unregistered firearm. He was served in a New York court and sent to Clinton Correctional, an iron college that once hosted Manio, Hell Rell, Tupac Shakur, Bobby Shmurda and Ol' Dirty Bastard.

Shyne released another album Godfather Buried Alive on Def Jam. He wanted to get signed to Cash Money Records but the deal fell through due to the rapper’s predicament with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. 

Once he was released he was immediately deported from the United States. Due to the fact he failed to become a naturalized citizen of the United States, he was sent back to Belize where he was born.

Since he was deported, he converted to Orthodox Judaism. He would be performing at concerts in Europe and the Middle East. He would take up residence in Jerusalem, Israel for a brief period to support the far-right Likud Party and its leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Shyne would also make peace with Combs. The media mogul met Shyne in Paris and the two patched up their differences. 

Shyne endorsed Mitt Romney for president because he felt then President Barack Obama wouldn’t pardon him or grant him immunity. The rapper failed to realize that he faced state charges and not federal charges. Obama couldn’t do much as this was a crime and conviction in New York.

Shyne became a washed up rapper. He would eventually put the mic down and grab a law book.

Now as Moses Levi Barrow, the former rapper ran for politics in Belize as a part of the far-right United Democratic Party. He would become their nominee for the Mesopotamia district and won his seat.

The rapper is the son of outgoing Prime Minister Dean Barrow, SC PC.
