The Senate rejects witnesses and evidence in the impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump.

The impeachment of Donald J. Trump will wrap up in the coming days. The U.S. Senate took an unprecedented move to not bring witnesses and evidence to the impeachment trial of the 45th President of the United States.

This is an embarrassment.

Shortly before the Senate reconvened, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) released a statement saying that she would be voting "no" on hearing new evidence, making it all but certain that a vote on more witnesses and documents would fail. The only two Republican senators who are expected to vote "yes" are Mitt Romney (UT) and Susan Collins (ME).

Democrats have been pushing to call former national security adviser John Bolton and other officials who declined to participate in the House proceedings that led to Trump's impeachment. But most GOP senators, led by Senate Majority Leader (Addison) Mitchell McConnell (R-KY), have rallied to the president’s defense and said he should not be removed from office.

Trump faces charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The crux of the case for his impeachment is the allegation that he withheld military aid and a White House meeting to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son. Hunter Biden served on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, while his father was vice president.

They will face heat when they return to their constituents.

The Republican Party just concluded that Trump can get away with anything.

So don't be surprise if a Democratic president allows executive orders on issues that Republicans oppose and conduct unlawful orders. So if you hear a Fox News agitator or Republican call for impeachment they better not look at the Democrats.

For you see, the Republicans have now placed themselves with a target on their backs.

Once they conclude the trial, they will have to defend their actions. It now allows any politician to ask for foreign nations to meddle in our elections.

Trump will become the third U.S. president to be impeached while in office. He will not be removed from office though.

McConnell is the most unpopular lawmaker in Washington. He is probably ranked similar to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).

The Republicans put party over country. They are hypocrites and charlatans.

The 45 Democrats and two independents were brave. The two Republican senators were brave to support the Democrats. The 51 Republican senators are a bunch of pussies and chickenshits.

Don't talk about patriotism, you pompous bastards! Republicans are forever sealed as the party of stupid and the party of foreign influence.

The Republicans are puppets of Russia, Saudi Arabia and Israel. Three corrupt countries that will drive us to global destruction.
