A young athlete loses his life to a parasite that managed to eat his brain.
He and his friend were jogging through a suburban Houston park, when he decided to go into the pond near the trail. He jumped into the water. He came out fine. But a few days later, he got very ill.
This 14 year old athlete Michael John Riley Jr. died 17 days after he contracted primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) while swimming in a freshwater lake at Huntsville State Park. Michael's family wrote on Facebook that the three-time junior Olympian "fought a courageous fight over the past week, allowing him to move on to be with the Lord for future heavenly tasks, a beautiful set of wings, and a pair of gold running shoes."
PAM is caused by the Naegleria fowleri amoeba. "They get water up their nose with those organisms in there," an epidemiologist told the Chronicle. "They start invading the nasal tissues. They basically go all the way to the brain and you get a brain infection." Experts advise against allowing warm, still water—found in lakes, ponds, and pools—to go up one's nose to decrease the chance of infection. Symptoms include headache, fever, nausea, stiff neck, and seizures, according to the CDC.
It's an unfortunate circumstance.
World News Today send our condolences to the family of Michael Riley, Jr.
Many consider this network the communication arm of the Republican Party.
I kind of wished President Barack Obama ran a third term. He would beat every contender running.
He seems to ignore the noise. And believe me, many of us should. But it's a shame we can't! The noise is still making $$$$$$$$$$. The junk food media is basically the best PR for a bunch of idiots who talk a lot of shit.
It's also the best PR for The Donald, Uncle Ben and iCarly.
Donald Trump, Benjamin Carson and Carly Fiorina have no political experience but they're leading in the national polls. The only candidate that has little political experience is Stallmigo Cruz.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is in fourth place right now. The establishment candidates running Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, John Kasich, and Chris Christie are barely in the top ten. They were supposed to be the best to run against Hillary Clinton. Well with no media coverage, they're suffering.
Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson are top-tier candidates.
Matter of fact, everyone expect the herd will be thinning soon.
There are 17 clowns running for the Republican nomination. There are 5 clowns running for the Democratic nomination.
The Democrats are souring on Hillary Clinton. They fear that the mudslinging has taken its toll. She is taking hits from the right and the left. The left thinks she's too established. The right thinks she too liberal. The national polls suggest she's untrustworthy and dishonest.
Ouch.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is in second place and is slowly catching up with Clinton. If Vice President Joe Biden joins the race, it will make the Democrats less inspired.
The Democrats really have a weak field of candidates. The junk food media barely covers Martin O'Malley, Lincoln Chafee and Jim Webb. The news is solely focused on Clinton, Sanders and possibly Biden.
Again, no one should drop out until the delegates are counted and distributed.
Donald Trump is leading in most national polls. Scott Walker is struggling.
Polls don't matter. Votes do.
If the Republican and Democratic primary voters select their candidate then that's who wins the party's nomination. The junk food media is invested in this clown car. It's an unprecedented amount of Republican contenders in this race. The Democratic candidates are relatively weak. The Republicans are so invested in repealing Obamacare, Hillary's server, stopping Iran's nuclear deal and sending immigrants back.
To be clear, Republicans have the most to gain in this election. They are riding on this nationalist rhetoric and it maybe their last rite as the White majority political party. Democrats have the most to lose. They have lack of diversity in their candidates and the groups that support Democrats the most are not inspired by Hillary Clinton and are barely jumping into Bernie Sanders corner.
If the Republicans are hoping that Trump self destructs, then they better hope it happens when it gets colder in the year. Trump is considered a bombastic agitator and blowhard. But his rhetoric along with Ted Cruz makes them favorites among the insurgency. Same goes for Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson. They have no experience. It doesn't matter to the base. They love to hear the word vomit coming from their mouths.
Democrats better mount a defense. Start playing the role of Republican basher. The Democrats are extremely spineless because they don't want to lose the voters who may crossover (i.e. independents).
Anyway, do you view that network as the public relations arm of the Republican Party?
Wes Craven, actor and movie director passed away of terminal brain cancer.
On Sunday, the entertainment industry lost a legend. Famed horror director Wes Craven passed away of brain cancer.
His representatives confirmed the director had passed away fighting terminal cancer.
Wesley Earl "Wes" Craven (August 2, 1939 – August 30, 2015) was an American film director, writer, producer, and actor known for his work on horror films, particularly slasher films. He died weeks after his 76th birthday.
Wes Craven on the set of The New Nightmare with Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger.
Wes was famous for the cult classic Nightmare on Elm Street. It introduced the world to Freddy Krueger, the infamous serial killer who stalked his victims in their dreams. He was responsible for the hit thriller Scream. Craven also directed all four films in the Scream series, and co-created the Ghostface character. Some of his other films include The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Red Eye and My Soul to Take.
Grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, Wes always had an interest in the art of horror. He was a professor working at a college. He taught English studies. He got bored with teaching. He thought of doing X-rated movies but felt that the market was swamped with it. So he decided to take advantage of the teenage lust of sex and spice it up with a serial maniac who took advantage of their naive awareness.
The directing of Nightmare of Elm Street was on a low budget. That movie would go on to become one of the best screams in history. It would spark numerous sequels, a crossover with infamous Jason Voorhies of Friday The 13th and a reboot.
Also the Scream movie was one of the highest grossing horror movies to ever exist. He would produce the three sequels and executive produce the television series.
His art gave people a reason to fear the unknown. Believe me the damsel in distress is often the first to go in a most horror movies.
We're gonna miss them days.
World News Today send our condolences to the family of Wes Craven.
The folks over at Mediaite happened to pick up on a story that happened in this rust belt city that I call home. There was a case of profiling by the law of a motorist.
Dayton Daily News also noted that the Dayton Police offered a response to the motorist.
John Felton was in my city. He was originally a resident from Dayton but would move to the Detroit metro area. He would film one of Dayton officers pulling him over.
This officer followed him for two miles before he was pulling over.
John whips out the camera phone. The officer approaches his vehicle and told him of his infraction.
The infraction was a turn signal violation. John knew this was happening. He said that the officer followed him because he had Michigan license plates.
The officer returns back and tells him he had a warning for the infraction. Of course, John wasn't pleased about the pull over in the first place. He asked why was the officer following him for that long of a distance before a pull over was engaged.
The officer basically said that John "made suspicious eye contact" and he didn't want to argue with him. The officer said that he can reissue a citation for the encounter. Told him to move along or be cited.
John like most Americans was shocked about the encounter. Given that he mentioned the tragic situation in Texas with Sandra Bland. He noted that he didn't want to end up like many Black motorists in police custody.
So he posted the video to the social media and also reported the officer to his superiors.
The Dayton police said the traffic infraction was verified by the video, but “making direct eye contact with an officer is not a basis for a traffic stop.”
The department said Felton has agreed to a conversation with the officer, facilitated by the Dayton Mediation Center.
“This will allow Mr. Felton and the officer to discuss the specifics of the incident,” the department said.
Routine pull over.
The department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were conducted Safe Communities Through Aggressive Traffic Enforcement.
SCATE is an initiative that is aimed at decreasing OVI-related fatalities and injuries in the city of Dayton. So according to the law, they were doing spot it, stop it! Yeah, that's their excuse.
Again, the law can lie when they do a pull over. They can lie when they issue a citation. They can lie when they use their firearm in deadly force. They can lie when the suspect is killed while in custody.
They can use the media to paint the suspect as a "no good thug" while the officer is a "dedicated" public servant.
Usually getting pulled over by police does involve a minor infraction.
I've explained in earlier year, I had been profiled by the law too.
Their excuse is failure to signal at 100 feet. There is an ordinance. But oftentimes that's the most usual excuse for an officer to search your vehicle without justification.
Montgomery County Sheriff and the Dayton Police usually pull this of bullshit. I've been profiled three times this year. The first encounter was explained in a posting. The second encounter involved two officers who are in the freezer after they killed a motorist they claimed had a gun and pointed at them. These encounters involved the Harrison Township branch of the Montgomery County Sheriff.
The third time was back in June. This happened in the South (formerly third) district of Dayton Police.
I've been followed for four miles by an officer. I was on the main road called Third Street in the Roosevelt-Westwood neighborhood. I had some minor front end damage to the vehicle. It was 2:00 am. I was at an intersection near this road called James H. McGee Boulevard. The officer was turned left from that road. I took one look at him turn. Didn't think much of it. So as I move down the road, I see these bright lights 1/2 mile back. These bright lights were racing down Third Street. I figured that the officer did the U-turn and decided to pursue suspicion. So I was experimenting. I was about to whip out my camera phone and record the whole encounter. I decided to wait patiently for an encounter.
I'm filming this encounter.
I decided to turn on this road called Edwin Moses Boulevard. I traveled down towards Fifth Street. I turn left and head towards downtown. I look in the back of my mirror seeing that the officer didn't follow me. So everything was fine for a moment. I was close to Sinclair Community College when I was heading towards the highway. I was at a stop light. I saw the officer drive pass.
So I decided to turn left and proceed towards the highway. About two blocks later, the officer was making a pit stop at the Chaminade-Julienne High School student parking lot. As I passed him by, he pulls out towards the road. He decides to follow once again. I was waiting for the lights to activate.
As I proceed towards the highway, I signaled and turned. He turned and passed me by.
He literally followed me almost til I've gotten towards downtown. I was about to start recording the interaction. I was hoping he was going to prepare for a traffic pull over.
And like the motorist in this posting, I've felt that the officer had an intention to harass.
Now again, Black Lives Matter is often featured in the news. The activists are protesting for police reform and accountability. In the wake of this past week's tragic shootings, many in law enforcement blame the protesters for officer involved killings. They use their megaphone by which is the junk food media to put the Black Lives Matters activist on blast. The political agitators to stir the pot even more by trying to denounce the group as paid agitators and extremists.
I do not belong to any groups. I speak for myself and I don't have to be an activist. But I can sympathize with the Black Lives Matter movement. Enough is enough. Time to end police brutality and racial profiling. Hold them accountable for their actions.
It seems like an eye for an eye. The police won't rat out their bad officers. It goes hand and hand with the Black community refusing to rat out their bad residents responsible for criminal acts.
All this concern trolling about Black-on-Whatever crime is not helpful either. In the wake of the shooting of Texas deputy Darren Goforth, the law plays the Blame Game on activists instead of the suspect.
The suspect deserves ALL THE BLAME. No one inspired him to do a criminal act but him.
John Felton followed the rules right. He had a right to film police officers. He had a right to question why he was being pulled over by the law. That officer's conduct was out of line. John had a right to not consent to a search of his vehicle, home or property.
Hopefully this mediation will teach the officer how to avoid confrontations (at least when he's filmed by citizens).
Broadway is mourning the death of a famed entertainer. Kyle Jean-Baptiste died yesterday after falling from a four story fire escape at his mother's home.
World News Today send our condolences to the family of Kyle Jean-Baptiste.

Texas deputy Darren Goforth was gunned down in a callous act of violence. The suspect caught. Now that the suspect is caught, who will actually be blamed for the death of the lawman?
This is getting old. I am so freaking tired of explaining this. Gun crimes are happening every day.
America's biggest threat is domestic terrorism. We have experienced over 35,000 known incidents where people were shot or killed by firearms this year.
Nothing is getting done about this. For every killing of an unarmed suspect, a victim of a crime, or those in law enforcement and military, we seem to always have some form of judgement to why this stuff happens.
The junk food media is debating the shooting death of a Texas lawman. A deputy was at a local gas station when the suspect, a Black male murdered him on sight.
Now that the law caught has the man who was involved in the shooting death of a Harris County, Texas deputy, who are they going to blame for this tragedy?
A) BARACK OBAMA
B) BLACK LIVES MATTER
C) CONGRESS
D) NRA
E) THE SHOOTER
F) ALL OF THESE ABOVE
Okay, if you picked E, then you're absolutely correct. If you picked the other answers, you're wrong.
The fault of this criminal act solely lies on the feet of the suspect. No one else.
Of course it doesn't stop the blame game from occurring. The shooting death of Darren Goforth has the nation talking. The Texas deputy was filling up at a Houston Chevron gas station. Out of no where, this man comes up and shoots him at point blank range. He managed to empty out his firearm.
He would take off in a Ford truck and make the escape. The law would catch the suspect. He was taken into custody.
Shannon Miles was nabbed for the shooting of a Texas deputy.
It didn't take long for the sheriff of Harris County to blame Black Lives Matter for the actions of a man who they knew had issues with the law. Matter of fact, they want to tie the protest movement to a Black extremist group such as The New Black Panthers.
According to their intelligence sources, saying "pig roasting" is considered code for cop killing.
We don't know the motives of this suspect. He's caught and will face a court date soon.
It's kind of funny that the right blames Black Lives Matter. Did Black Lives Matter blame all White people for a former television celebrity who was caught sexually assaulting children?
Did Black Lives Matter blame all White people for the numerous run-ins for a man who managed to beat a murder of a unarmed teenager in Sanford, Florida?
Say if you have a man who shot up a Louisiana movie theater or a Charleston church, we don't automatically assume that they're conservatives. Matter of fact, conservatives do not want people to blame them for these tragedies.
But if one Black person commits an act of violence, it's the fault of all.
Well then, if a White person commits an act of criminal violence on the law or media, it will automatically be blamed on Republicans, conservatives and the insurgency (aka TEA PARTY).
This is the usual word vomit of white extremists.
Yeah, blame the protesters who felt that Sandra Bland's death in police custody was suspicious.
Blame the protesters who witness a cop slam the head of teenage girl on the ground after a pool party going awry. Yeah, it's protesters' fault for the cop to pull out a firearm on the unarmed teens.
Blame the protesters who believed that a rookie officer's judgement call killed Taylor Christian.
The suspect 30 year old Shannon Miles, of Houston was booked on capital. He will face the gas house if convicted. He is innocent until proven guilty.
Of course, that doesn't seem to matter to the critics. The suspect is automatic guilty. Nevermind the court of law, he's a Black guy. The Black Lives Matter and Barack Obama inspired this thug.
What do you expect from the racist right?
While we are quick to blame, did you know that two officers lost their lives in the line of duty?
Let me remind you again. The Line of Duty.
Everyone believes you can live a healthy life as a police officer. They think it's watching COPS on Spike Television. They think it's like Mike and Carl from Mike & Molly. They believe it's like Law & Order. They think the controversial Milwaukee County sheriff David Clarke is actually patrolling the streets with a vigilant eye.
Newsflash: Being a cop is a thankless job. Many officers don't get praised for their work. They only get praised when they are killed. They get praised when they are given positive media coverage. They work long tireless days and night making sure their precinct isn't caught up in a scandal. They are public servants.
They're human too. They lie too.
Mass outpouring to deputy who was gunned down.
When police complain about Blacks never telling, you might want to finger them for not telling too.
They are good cops. It's too bad the bad cops set the example.
The Black Lives Matter movement doesn't condone the killing of police.
And while the concern trolls were chasing the newest blame de jour, the killing of two officers in Louisiana were talked about for a brief moment.
Harrison Lee Riley is a Black suspect who murdered a woman and a lawman. Sunset Police Sergeant Henry Nelson was gunned down responding to an aggravated assault on three women. One of the women Shameka Johnson lost her life to this suspect stabbing her multiple times. The suspect took off in a person's car and crashed it into a business. He would exit his vehicle and run into the business. He would barricade himself in this business until the law ordered him out. He gave up peacefully. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff will throw the book at this criminal. Riley is innocent until proven guilty.
These lives were lost to senseless violence.
Kevin Daigle is a White suspect who killed a Louisiana state highway patrol and a roommate. The suspect was caught by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff after he was on the run. Before his act, he got into an heated argument with his roommate Blake Brewer. He killed him with a sawed off shotgun. He would also take the victim's truck. He gets intoxicated and takes off in the ride. He was pulled over by state trooper Steven Vincent. The suspect would back up into the patrol vehicle. He would jump out and put three in the face of trooper Vincent. He would then flee towards Lake Charles. He was busted before reaching Texas. He is facing capital and second degree. Daigle is innocent until proven guilty.
Ryan Arnold is a White suspect who shot his pregnant girlfriend. Hayley Nicole Hill was severely injured in this event. The law confirms that she lost her child. She is fighting for her life. The suspect threw her out the vehicle. He would crash his ride. He would exit the ride and run towards a man working on his truck. He ordered the man to start the vehicle and get it moving. The law would eventually meet up with them. The suspect told Paul Donald Davis to ram it. The law would put the lead in them. Paul was hit by the lead. The suspect was also hit by the lead. They both were caught and treated for their injuries. The suspect is in custody. Arnold is innocent until proven guilty.
Let's not forget the officers who lost their lives in Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio and Florida.
It was overshadowed by the tragic killing of WDBJ news anchor Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward. Soon this will be overshadowed for the next mass murder tragedy.
I am clearly understanding that all lives matter.
White people don't understand the Black Lives Matter movement. They think it just a grievance of Black lives only. They're entitled to their opinion.
The movement is about police brutality against Black suspects in the United States. It's also sparked by the law not indicting those involved. The movement is also sparked by the media's negative portrayal of unarmed Black suspects.
World News Today send our condolences to Darren Goforth, Henry Nelson, Shameka Johnson, Blake Brewer, Steven Vincent, Alison Parker, Adam Ward, Hayley Hill and those lost in senseless firearm tragedies.
We send our prayers to Vicki Gardner and Paul Davis.
