The Gun Violence Archive has a detailed list of shootings in the United States. I often look at the mass shooting tracker and I often see some of the most deadly shootings happened in most metropolitan areas.
It appears that outgoing Dayton, Ohio mayor Nan Whaley, leader of the Conference of Mayors is hoping to get into President Joe Biden and Congress ear. She is demanding Congress do something about gun violence.
She along with 26 other mayors are demanding Biden
There were mass shootings in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Chicago; Albertville, Alabama; Lansing, Michigan; West Salem, Ohio; Cincinnati; Boynton Beach, Florida; Cleveland and Louisville.
I'll cover a few of them
Not to mention the multiple shootings in almost every state except Hawai'i, Alaska and the U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa and Northern Mariana Islands.
Two people were killed and two others were injured in a workplace shooting at an Alabama plant Tuesday morning, officials said.
The four victims were found inside the Mueller Co. plant in Albertville, about 50 miles southeast of Huntsville, Albertville Police Chief Jamie Smith said at a news conference. The plant manufactures fire hydrants and other water distribution products.
The terrorist was a Mueller Co. employee, was working at the time, Smith said. The terrorist was found dead Tuesday morning from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Smith said the shooting appears to be "completely unprovoked."
The terrorist allegedly used a handgun and fired an unknown number of rounds, police said, adding that multiple weapons were recovered from his car.
About 100 employees were at the plant when gunfire broke out during the middle of a shift, Smith said.
The two injured employees have been transferred to a Chattanooga hospital, police said. Their conditions were not clear.

Albertville Mayor Tracy Honea in a statement called the plant an "integral" part of Albertville, adding, "We hurt with them today."
"I send our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, well wishes to those injured, and our thoughts and prayers to the entire Mueller team, both here in Albertville, across the United States, and abroad," Honea said.
Mueller Water Products in a statement said its "shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific tragedy."
"Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones, the Albertville community and the entire Mueller family during this extremely difficult time," the statement said. "Our entire focus is on the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, and we are committed to providing any and all support to them and their families."
Police in Cedar Rapids have released more information from the Tuesday morning shooting on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids.
Cedar Rapids Police said that three people, all part of the same family, were killed in the shooting at 4414 Oak Leaf Court NE. The victims were Jan Perry Jackson, 61, Melissa Ferne Jackson, 68, and Sabrina Hana Jackson, 19. A fourth family member was the shooter. He suffered a gunshot wound to the foot and was treated and released from the hospital.
As a result of a day-long investigation, officials believe that the son was the person who allegedly used a gun to shoot his father, mother, and sister. He was taken into custody and charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
The shooting was reported to police at around 8:23 a.m. Officials said the three victims were found dead when officers arrived.
DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox said a supermarket cashier was shot over a dispute with a customer about a mask on Monday. A DeKalb County deputy in the supermarket shot at the suspect, Maddox said, and the suspect returned fire and struck the deputy.
It happened at the Big Bear Supermarket located at 2849 Candler Road in DeKalb County around 1:10 p.m. Authorities said the suspect, identified by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as 30-year-old terrorist who was checking out when he got into an argument with the cashier over the mask.
"There was some confrontation, argument — I’m not sure exactly what — in reference to the wearing of masks, at which time the subject pulled out a weapon and shot the cashier," Maddox said at a news conference. Maddox said she did not know the details of the argument.
Investigators said the terrorist left the store without buying anything, but came back inside, went up to the cashier, and opened fire.
"[The suspect] walked directly back to the cashier, pulled out a handgun and shot her," the Georgia Bureau of Investigation wrote in the news release.
The terrorist then directed his fire at an off-duty Dekalb County Sheriff's Office deputy who was working a part-time security job at the store, investigators said. The deputy returned fire, investigators said, with both ended up being injured in the exchange of fire.
"That is what he's trained to do, that's part of his 30-year career in law enforcement," Maddox said. "All of us here are trained to intervene and to respond."
The terrorist was taken into custody as investigators said he tried to crawl out the front door.
The cashier and terrorist were both rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the cashier was pronounced dead. The terrorist was listed in stable condition as of early Monday evening.
The deputy was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center and was also listed in stable condition as of Monday evening.
A second cashier was also grazed by a bullet but was treated for her injuries at the scene.
The DeKalb County Police Department said warrants will be taken out for the terrorist on charges of murder. Other charges are pending.
Maddox identified the deputy only as a 30-year veteran of law enforcement.
Police have not released the names of the cashiers have not been released.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to investigate the deputy-involved shooting. It will be handed over to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office for review once it is complete.
The GBI said this is the 41st shooting involving Georgia law enforcement the agency has been asked to investigate this year.
The supermarket is located near The Gallery at South DeKalb mall and is about 8 miles east-southeast of downtown Atlanta.
Two children, ages 6 and 8, were in critical condition after getting caught in the crossfire of a Cincinnati gunfight that also injured two teenagers, police said.
The shooting erupted just after 6 p.m. on Saturday near a vacant lot in the northeast Cincinnati neighborhood of East Westwood.
Cincinnati Police Department officials said at least two gunmen, possibly more, were involved in a shootout near a vacant lot the two children were playing in when they were wounded. As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests have been made.
Both children were listed in critical condition at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, police said. Their names were not immediately released.
“I think when you have children involved, it changes the whole dynamic here. It shakes the conscience of a neighborhood when you have children hit," Lt. Col. Mike John of the Cincinnati Police Department said in a news conference near the scene of the shooting. "These aren’t people engaged in high-risk activity. They’re just little kids."
The two teenagers, ages 18 and 19, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were being treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, John said.
"We are all outraged that two children have been caught in the crossfire of a shooting last night," Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said in a statement Sunday. "Our whole city prays for their recovery."
Cranley said police investigating the shooting have some "strong leads" in the investigation.
"We are confident the police will bring these violent criminals to justice," Cranley said.
John said at least two suspects fled the scene on foot. He said multiple shell casings from different caliber weapons were recovered at the scene by investigators.
"We think there are multiple people firing shots here," John told ABC affiliate station WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. "It’s at least two, but it could be more. We can tell that by the shell casings left at the scene. So, multiple weapons used. At least two we can confirm, but, like I said, it’s possible there were other shooters, as well."
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Rodney Christian, a local community activist and president of the East Westwood Community Council, told reporters at the scene of the shooting on Saturday that "enough is enough."
Christian called on police and city government leaders to join with community leaders in working on something "big time" to curb gun violence in the city.
"If this doesn't wake you up, I don't know what will," Christian said of Saturday's quadruple shooting. "We have to do something about this. I'm just saying we've got a problem. We're in the red, and summer is going to get hotter, and we need to do something about this."
The shootings came as Cincinnati has seen a 20% drop in homicides in the first five months of this year.
The city has recorded 32 homicides this year, compared to 40 this time last year, according to data released by the police department.
Cincinnati recorded a record 94 homicides in 2020, a 28.7% increase from 2019. There were 486 shootings in Cincinnati during 2020.
The youngest victims were 6 and 8 years old. The other two victims were adults in their late teens, according to Cincinnati police.
"I'm praying for a miracle is what I’m doing,” said Marcella Thompson, whose 8-year-old son went into surgery Saturday night. “My baby did not deserve this at all. I was at home preparing for a movie night.”
Thompson said she let her son Marcellus walk up the street to Reems Market with his big brother before family night when the shooting happened. She said two bullets hit her little boy.
"It went through his brain. It came out the other side of his brain. My baby suffered from a gunshot wound to his leg,” said Thompson.
She wanted people to know the reality of this crime, in part, because of the number of shootings happening in her neighborhood.
Police records show there have been 18 shootings in Westwood in 2021. Cincy Insight records do not include Saturday's shooting. Over-the-Rhine has had the second most shootings, according to the website, with 17. West End ranks third with 13 shootings so far in 2021.
Five people were wounded in a shooting in Chicago on Tuesday night, hours after another mass shooting in the city that killed four and injured four more.
Four men and one woman were shot near the 3800 block of West Monroe Street around 9:20 p.m. CT, possibly by multiple offenders, police said. There are currently no cooperating witnesses and no arrests have been made.
All victims were being treated at nearby hospitals. Of them, a 38-year-old man is in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg, and the four other victims are in stable condition. A 29-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the back, a 39-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and leg, a 40-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, and a 33-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said.
The incident followed the earlier mass shooting in which three women and one man were fatally shot and four more were injured. In that incident, shots were fired around 5:45 a.m. CT Tuesday after an argument escalated inside a residence in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.
No arrests have been made in connection with that shooting, according to Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown.

At a press conference, Mayor Lori Lightfoot called the mass shooting “a tragedy that’s ripped apart families and inflicted intense trauma on several individuals,” adding that the city still has work to do to curb gun violence and limit access to illegal guns.
Lightfoot is facing pressure to curb violent crime, which has spiked over the past year and a half, the Chicago Tribune reported, a problem she has blamed on the pandemic.
A recent surge in shootings in Chicago has sparked fears of a violent summer after three people were killed and 34 were wounded over the Memorial Day weekend, and five people were killed and at least 55 were wounded the following weekend.
Though homicides tend to peak in the summer, they are up 5 percent and shootings are up 17 percent this year compared to the same period last year, Brown said at a news conference earlier this month.
Violent crime was declining in the city before the recent surge in shootings. May was the second straight month the number of homicides in the city declined compared to the same month last year, and this year’s Memorial Day saw less violent crime than last year.
