The state of Israel is a country in the Middle East, a region of South Asia. The country is controversial.

The state continues to build settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank despite the United Nations warnings that the continuation will only spark more unrest and will violate sovereignty. The United States pretty much allows the state of Israel do whatever it wants. This has created tensions with the Arab League, African Union and many progressives who believe the United States is aiding and abetting an apartheid state.

Israel doesn't not view Palestinians as human beings. The American junk food media always runs the narrative that most of the conflicts are started by Hamas. Many believe "both sides" are at fault.

Some are calling people anti-Semitic for even criticizing the state of Israel.

Florida lawmaker Debbie Wasserman Schultz and a handful of Jewish Democrats drafted a letter slamming Ilhan Omar.

Many Americans who equate Israel with the Jewish faith are promoting a Christian nationalist theory that Israel is rightfully a Jewish State. They continue to equate the belief that Israel has the right to defend itself and the country is always under attack.

But Israel is involved in causing many of the problems in the Middle East.

The West Bank is controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

The Gaza Strip is a land mass of less than 50 miles. It is populated with 2.5 million people. The Gaza Strip is by most standards a impoverished region. The state of Israel has restricted access for medical supplies, food and energy to be sent to the region.

The Gaza Strip is controlled by Hamas. The group Hamas is a political and militant organization that the state of Israel, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Japan and the European Union labels as terrorist.

Hamas has never attacked the United States. But since the U.S. shares this bond with Israel, your enemies are our enemies. This has also been a common theme among the American lawmakers and agitators is to call Hamas a terrorist organization even though it never attack us on September 11th, 2001.

Hamas does not have a strong military. They don't have an air force, naval operation or a lethal assassin force. That is Israel.

Last month, tensions were mounting when Israel was brutally attacking worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan. The attacks were happening at the historical al-Aqsa mosque. The attacks continued through out the fasting and until Ed al-Fitr.

The attacks prompted Hamas to fire rockets into Israel. The state responded back with massive strikes on the Gaza Strip. The attacks killed 274 Palestinians and 12 Israelis.

Controversial leader Karen Netanyahu vowed to "crush" Hamas and had the backing of President Joe Biden and the American lawmakers.

Several Democrats who are Jewish are upset with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) after she equated the state of Israel with Hamas and al-Qaeda. In a way, they're promoting Islamophobia and giving cover to state crimes and injustices.

Again, I respect their passion. But the Squad has no legislative accomplishments. All I hear from Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is talk and no action. These progressive members of Congress are the headaches of the Democratic Party.

They are pressuring President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to go left now! The president has to weave through a shoestring of opposition from these guys as well as Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV), Sen. Karen Sinema (D-AZ) and the white nationalist Republicans and the three Black enablers within the party.

The Republicans are fucking idiots. The members of the Squad are fucking annoying. I was strongly for them when they first got into office. However, their support for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) during the presidential election was the biggest turn off.

Florida lawmaker Ted Deutch. He and other Democrats claim that Ilhan Omar was anti-Semitic for criticizing Israeli abuse in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem.

On top of that was the disrespect towards Biden. Ocasio-Cortez went to nominate Sanders at the Democratic National Convention. Her recent attack on Harris when she urged migrants to stay home.

Tlaib's attack on Biden included her not endorsing him until she finally found a challenger in the primary. Her remarks about Hillary Clinton. Her antics while in Congress are frustrating.

Omar's constant reminder that she's a Muslim Black woman. I get that. I respect the young woman for her passion. But she is just making more noise. Tell me one legislative bill she sponsored on the House floor!

Bush also joined the Congress in 2021. There's been stories about her antics during the protesting days and her belief that a spiritual healer cured her of possible COVID-19.

Pressley endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for president. Pressley was attacking Michael Bloomberg and Beto O'Rourke, two candidates that had strong approval among Black and Hispanic voters.

So these Democrats are upset over a harsh truth. Omar is critical of the Israeli government's treatment of its citizens. Why aren't the so-called supporters of Israel outraged over the deadly attacks that killed 100 children?

Omar, late Wednesday, accusing her of giving "cover" to terrorist and suggesting her remarks about Hamas and the Taliban reflect a "deep-seated prejudice."

“Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided,” the group, led by Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) said in a statement, urging Omar to "clarify" her remarks.

Omar initially responded Wednesday to her critics on Twitter by calling their statement "offensive" and defending her initial remarks, which she said were taken out of context. On Thursday, she responded to the letter by saying, "To be clear: I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems."

House leadership, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) then issued a statement saying "drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all."

“We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban,” the statement from leadership said.

Omar's fellow "Squad" members voiced outrage at the Democratic lawmakers who'd criticized her.

"Pretty sick & tired of the constant vilification, intentional mischaracterization, and public targeting of @IlhanMN coming from our caucus. They have no concept for the danger they put her in by skipping private conversations & leaping to fueling targeted news cycles around her," Ocasio-Cortez  tweeted.

Bush wrote, "I'm not surprised when Republicans attack Black women for standing up for human rights. But when it’s Democrats, it’s especially hurtful. We’re your colleagues. Talk to us directly. Enough with the anti-Blackness and Islamophobia."

The statement by the group of lawmakers said that the U.S. and Israel are “imperfect” and are at times deserving of critique, “but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups.”

“Ignoring the differences between democracies governed by the rule of law and contemptible organizations that engage in terrorism at best discredits one’s intended argument and at worst reflects deep-seated prejudice,” the group wrote.

California lawmaker Brad Sherman. Sherman, President Joe Biden and many Democrats believe Israel has a right to exist. So they continue to give cover to a country committing war crimes.

The statement by a group of Jewish lawmakers was a rare public display of the long simmering tensions over what some fellow Democrats have argued are anti-Jewish sentiments by Omar. The House previously voted in 2019 to condemn antisemitism in response to statements Omar made, but the resolution did not name her.

The latest incident was sparked Monday, when Omar posted a video on Twitter showing her questioning Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a video call about the U.S.'s opposition to the International Criminal Court investigating alleged war crimes in Afghanistan and Israel.

"We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban,” she tweeted about her back-and-forth with Blinken on what alternatives would be available if the ICC does not investigate the allegations.

The ICC last year authorized an investigation into allegations of war crimes by United States military and intelligence personnel, Afghan forces and the Taliban in Afghanistan dating back to 2003. A court prosecutor had argued there was a reasonable basis to believe war crimes were committed by members of the U.S. armed forces and by members of the CIA in secret detention facilities.

The decision was blasted by then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Trump administration slapped court staffers involved in the probe with economic sanctions. The Biden administration is also opposed to the probe, but the U.S. repealed the sanctions in April, a decision that was hailed by Omar at the time and during the exchange with Blinken.

In March, the ICC announced it was also investigating suspected war crimes in the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, after finding there was involving reasonable basis to believe offenses had been committed by both the Israeli military and Palestinian armed groups, including Hamas militants.

Netanyahu said Israel would not cooperate with the probe, which he described as "pure antisemitism."

Omar's spokesman, Jeremy Slevin, tweeted on Tuesday that Omar's words were being seized on out of context by right-wing media who were focusing on her line about "unthinkable atrocities" while "the underlying question—about a legitimate criminal investigation!—is ignored."

After the group of Democrats released their letter Wednesday, Omar responded that it was "shameful" that the group released a public statement instead of speaking to her directly.

"The islamophobic tropes in this statement are offensive. The constant harassment & silencing from the signers of this letter is unbearable,” she wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, Omar defended her initial remarks: “Citing an open case against Israel, US, Hamas & Taliban in the [The International Criminal Court] isn’t comparison or from 'deeply seated prejudice'. You might try to undermine these investigations or deny justice to their victims but history has thought us that the truth can’t be hidden or silenced forever.”

The statement criticizing Omar was also signed by Reps. Jake Auchincloss, of Massachusetts; Ted Deutch, of Florida; Lois Frankel, of Florida; Josh Gottheimer, of New Jersey; Elaine Luria, of Virginia; Kathy Manning, of North Carolina; Jerry Nadler, of New York; Dean Phillips, of Minnesota; Kim Schrier, of Washington; Brad Sherman, of California; and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, of Florida.

These Karens in the House of Representatives better recognize. Folks are seeing what Israel is doing.

I repeat, I believe the world will eventually hold Israel responsible for the atrocities and genocide of human lives.
