While it is not a permanent ban, it is a final strike for the former president.
He will not be able to operate his official Facebook account for two years.
Facebook and Instagram will ban the former president for two years and it will now enforce a zero tolerance policy for all world leaders and lawmakers who promote hatred, violence and misinformation.
It is supposed to be a deterrent for all politicians who continue to violate the terms of service that Facebook enacted.
Mark Zuckerberg was forced to personality intervene in the matter. Facebook indefinitely suspending the former president after he incited a mob to attack the U.S. Capitol.
The company issued a statement in regards to the Facebook Oversight Board's recommendations stating that due process will be issued for all violators.
"Given the gravity of the circumstances that led to Mr. Trump's suspension, we believe his actions constituted a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols," said Vice President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg.
"We are suspending his [Facebook and Instagram] accounts for two years, effective from the date of the initial suspension on January 7 this year."
That means he will not be able to operate his account until January 7, 2023. If he does decide to run for president again, Washed Up 45 will be carefully monitored and if he continues to repeatedly violate its terms of service, he will be permanently banned from the platform.

"When the suspension is eventually lifted, there will be a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions that will be triggered if Mr. Trump commits further violations in future, up to and including permanent removal of his pages and accounts."
"In establishing the two year sanction for severe violations, we considered the need for it to be long enough to allow a safe period of time after the acts of incitement, to be significant enough to be a deterrent to Mr. Trump and others from committing such severe violations in future, and to be proportionately to the gravity of the violation itself," the company said.
"We will evaluate external factors, including instances of violence, restrictions on peaceful assembly and other makers of civil unrest. If we determine that there is still a serious risk to public safety, we will extend the restriction for a set period of time and continue to re-evaluate until that risk has receded."
The former president shut down his personal blog which didn't muster enough followers. He was hoping to counter Facebook and Twitter with his own social media platform.
He called the ban an insult to the millions of Americans who voted for him.
He still believes the election was stolen from him.
Parler and Gab are no longer accepted on Google Play, Apple Store and Amazon web services. There's no one willing host to the extremist social media platforms.
The former president hopes that the conclusions of the "audits" in Arizona will reinstate him and former Arizona senator Karen McSally. The twice failed U.S. Senate candidate lost to Karen Sinema and Mark Kelly in her bid to be Arizona's senator. McSally was appointed by Karen Ducey to replace John McCain.
Ducey has hinted he will challenge Kelly in 2022.
Arizona went to Joe Biden.
