Republicans and a few bullshit Democrats complained about Vice President Kamala Harris not doing a fucking photo-op at the U.S.-Mexican border. They believe that Harris visiting the border will make the problems of migration go away. No, it won't

Kind of like saying "radical Islam" will stop terrorism.

Or calling yourself a patriot when you're attacking Americans over political disagreements. 

The Republicans believe that migrants coming to the United States are bring drugs, crime and violence.

All coded in the style of Washed Up 45 and white nationalists. They know that the population of white (non-Hispanic) Americans is on the decline. Hispanic/Latinos make up 18% of the country. African Americans make up 15% of the coutnry.

Today, Harris visits El Paso, Texas. She visits the border city of 703,000 residents. She visits the border and an immigration center where asylum seekers are taken.

Harris believes that doing photo-ops at the border won't solve problems. Trust me, seeing Republicans and media agitators riding on gun-mounted boats doesn't show strength. 

Harris, who was tasked with focusing on the diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of migration, toured a Customs and Border Patrol processing center, met with a group of unaccompanied children, visited a port of entry and is meeting with local advocates.

Harris, who has maintained her focus is on diplomatic relations in Central America and Mexico, rather than the situation at the border, has been working on diplomatic efforts to stem migration from the Northern Triangle countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Harris is being accompanied on the trip by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) who has been helping with negotiations on immigration legislation on Capitol Hill, and Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX).

Mayorkas told reporters aboard Air Force 2 that he recommended the vice president visit El Paso "because it is one of the busiest sectors" across the border "and it provides the vice president with an opportunity to see the full array" of challenges facing the Department of Homeland Security.

"When you talk about addressing the root causes of migration, all of the entirety of the immigration work of the administration is connected. What's happening at the border is directly connected to what's happening in Central America," Symone Sanders, Harris' chief spokeswoman, told reporters in a call Thursday evening.

She said Harris' trip will help "inform" a strategy on the root causes of migration that the administration will release "in the coming weeks."

The Biden administration has faced a large increase of migrants coming to the U.S.-Mexico border. In May, CBP had 180,034 encounters with migrants at the border, the highest number in at least two decades. The majority of migrants were turned away under Title 42, a Trump-era measure that allows migrants to be expelled to stop the spread of COVID-19, and some of the encounters were by individuals who have repeatedly tried to cross the border.

CBP had 22,219 encounters with migrants at the border in the El Paso region in May, according to data from CBP.

Harris’ visit comes days before Washed Up 45 will be heading to the border with Texas Gov. Karen Abbott. A group of pro-Trump protesters held signs outside the CBP facility, protesting the vice president's visit.

The vice president for months has been pressured by Republicans and some Democrats on Capitol Hill to go to the border, arguing she needs to witness the toll the increase in migrants is taking on border towns and facilities.

Many of the lawmakers who do not represent the districts where the U.S.-Mexican border is came to do their own versions of photo-ops.

Rep. Karen Boebert (R-CO) decided to make an appearance with a cardboard cutout of the vice president to tell her to come to the border. 

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) complained about Harris' demands for migrants to turn around and go home. She believes that Harris was inhumane for telling migrants to stay home. Ocasio-Cortez, who has little accomplishments while a U.S. representative is first to criticize but last to draft legislation.

Sen. Karen Cruz (R-TX) is one to talk. Remember this asshole left for Cancun, Mexico after the power grid failed. Then had the nerve to blame the incident on his daughters. And while the power grid was still down, he went to the white nationalist event in Orlando to joke about him leaving constituents. 

Cruz who often is more dumber than box of rocks is up for reelection in 2024. He barely won his race against Beto O'Rourke. If a Democrat of color runs against him, he could lose. Especially if he has the potential to run again for president. 

These incompetent lawmakers need to leave Vice President Kamala Harris alone. We ain't tolerating these attacks on a Black woman.
