The Columbus Division of Police quickly released the graphic video of a cop shooting 16-year old Ma'Khia Bryant. The shooting comes fresh off the verdict against the cop who murdered George Floyd.
The former Minneapolis cop was convicted of all charges in the death of 46-year old Floyd after he placed his goddamn knee on his neck. Tensions are rising and the call for Congress to pass the George Floyd Policing and Justice Bill are growing.
The decision was celebrated by Floyd's family, Black Lives Matter and President Joe Biden.
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had talked to the Floyd family and said that their mission is to pass gun control, police reform and voting rights reform. The challenge is trying to get the white nationalist Republicans and two white nationalist Democrats to work with Biden. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) are facing mounting pressure to support the elimination of the filibuster. The removal will require the Senate to pass legislation on simple majority. The Senate is split equally and the House is controlled by the Democrats.

The white nationalist Republicans continue to slow down progress because they know if these issues pass their chances are slimmer in the Midterms and the 2024 U.S. Presidential race.
Just a few posts ago, I just reported on a mass shooting. That mass shooting happened in a shopping center close to where that cop shot that 16-year old girl.

Bryant was fighting with another girl and the cop exited his vehicle to disspell the fight. As the video shows that Bryant had a knife in her hand. The cop immediately pulled out his firearm and shot her near two other people.
The cop, now identified as Nicholas Reardon, hired in December 2019, was the first on scene and was identified Wednesday as the officer who shot Bryant.
Reardon's body camera showed what played out when he arrived on the scene.
As she went down, the people in the vicinity began shouting at him. They were saying why he didn't use a fucking Taser. Within the first few seconds of their arrival, Bryant runs into the camera's view and appears to rush another girl to the ground.
Bryant then runs away from the cop whose camera is recording and appears to swing a knife at another girl standing by the hood of a car. The cop would soon fire his weapon at Bryant; four shots can be heard. A knife appears to drop next to her as she falls to the ground.
The shooting only happened within 15 seconds of the cop exiting his vehicle.

Two officers then move towards Bryant and call for medical support while people nearby can be heard yelling, "She's just a kid!" and "Are you stupid?"
Family members said that Bryant was the victim. The Franklin County Children's Services said she was a foster child.
Paula Bryant said that her daughter was a "very loving, peaceful little girl. She was 16 years old, she was a honor roll student. Ma'Khia has a motherly nature about her. She promoted peace. And that's something that I want to be always be remembered."
Hazel Bryant, said her niece got into an altercation with another person living at the foster home and it prompted the police to respond. It was a domestic disturbance call. She said that the junk food media will try to tarnish her name.
"She was loving. Yeah she had issues. But that's okay. All of us go through shit....She didn't deserve to die like a dog on the street."
Bryant did not approach the officer with the knife.
The body camera footage was released quickly. The video was shown a press conference Tuesday night and it drew immediate outrage. The cop who shot Bryant is placed in the freezer pending an investigation.
Mayor Andrew Ginther had quickly responded to the matter and asked for Gov. Mike DeWine to let the Ohio Bureau of Investigation look into the matter.
"It's a tragic day in the city of Columbus. It's a horrible, heartbreaking situation, said Ginther. "We felt transparency in sharing this footage, as incomplete as it is at this time."
Interim police chief Michael Woods said that protocol allows police officers to use deadly force to protect themselves and others. He said that the independent investigators would assess whether the officer's actions were justified.

There were shootings of Andre Hill, Casey Goodson, Jr. and numerous other incidents in Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus Division of Police is under the feds radar for excessive force. The city has 1.1 million residents and it has been under fire for numerous incidents where cops went too damn far.
The enablers of white supremacy are already trying to justify Bryant's death. Folks like Andy Ngo, Candace Owens and Leo Terrell are offering cover to white nationalists. They are trying to justify her death. They continue to deny that white suspects especially in many of those mass shootings being brought in alive.
A domestic quarrel leads to a teenager being shot. Yeah, she had a knife. She didn't get an opportunity to lunge into the person she was going after. That cop had no training on how to deal with a domestic dispute with non-lethal force.
So fuck the far-right and the enablers of white supremacy.
It never stops!
It never happens in your community....... Until it does! Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how this gun reform is taking away your rights. I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. I don't want hear folks say this is not white privilege. I don't want to hear folks say masks impede their freedoms. I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.
The website Officer Down is a memorial to those who were killed in the line of duty. Those who don't get their names mentioned in the junk food media. Also the website the National Gun Violence Memorial also keeps record of the many individuals killed by gun violence.
