For the umpteenth time, People Magazine releases its "Sexist Man Alive" issue. Thus proving me and S. Baldwin's point about the magazine's deliberate attempts to ignore men of color.
The now retired English soccer star David Beckham graces its annual cover.
"I never feel that I'm an attractive, sexy person," said Beckham. "I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don't ever think of myself that way."
Beckham joins the list of many men who graced the "Sexist Man Alive" cover.
And once again People faces a backlash. Because this has been over 20 years since a person of color ever graced that cover for the "Sexist Man Alive."
David is married to reality star/designer/former pop singer Victoria Beckham (nee Adams) and has four children.
Beckham is one of the highest paid soccer players in the United States. He is one of FIFA's best footballers ever.
While we don't hate on the fact that Beckham earned the title of "Sexist Man Alive", you notice that People chooses the candidates selectively.
I mean there hasn't been a man of color on that magazine since Denzel Washington.
Although Idris Elba, Jussie Smollet, Michael B. Jordan, Drake and Ki Hong Lee were in the featured in the list of "Sexist Men". They never graced the cover of People.
The celebrity agitating magazine has often face harsh criticism for this.
Do you believe People Magazine deliberately leaves out people of color in their "Sexist Person Alive" covers?
Piyush "Bobby" Jindal bows out the race. Couldn't make it out the bottom!
Now there's 14 candidates in the clown car. It seems like soon to be former governor Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is bowing out. Bobby Jindal, the Louisiana governor will vacate the governor's mansion on a bad note. He's going out with the state in massive disarray.
Jindal is one of the most dullest candidates running in this race. He started a second-tier and ended a second-tier.
"I've come to the realization that this is not my time, I've come here to announce that I am suspending my campaign for President of the United States," he told the right wing network's Bret Beir.
His numbers were dismal even in the face of the minor league debates. Jindal once said that the Republican Party can't be the party of stupid. He ignored his own advice.
Since being governor of Louisiana, he took a hard line conservative stance on issue. He rejected climate change despite Hurricane Gustav and Katrina. He pushed creationism in public schools.
He also pushed executive orders to fulfill his promise to discriminate against same sex couples without facing lawsuits. He even embrace the lunacy of Kim Davis, the controversial Kentucky county clerk who refused to sign off marriage licenses to same sex couples.
He even lost his support of Duck Dynasty. The family decide to embrace Donald Trump.
So who's going to the second stringer debate?
John Kasich and Rand Paul may find a place to the kiddie table.
Now the run-off election will happen in a few days. Republicans are likely to win this race. The Democrats have not thrown much into the race. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is (D-FL) is facing a backlash of her lack of interest in these races. Democrats believe that she's willing to throw everything away for Hillary Clinton.
The race between the Democratic state lawmaker John Bel Edwards and Republican Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) got a lot nastier. The Paris attacks has become Vitter's last hope for victory. Republicans are hoping to seize on racism and Islamophobia as their path to the governor's mansion.
Bobby Jindal will find a place on radio or television. Matter of fact, he may have a job in Bollywood movies.
He can play the role of an awful governor of a state.
In 2010, Charlie Sheen found out he had HIV. He had the infamous breakdown during his run on Two and a Half Men. He admits it was an act to disguise the shame of being exposed to the virus.
The highest paid actor in America just confessed to Matt Lauer that he had HIV. Charlie Sheen made a rambling (stuttering) interview to admit to the world he's got the disease and he's being treated for it.
Sheen was high and apparently drunk during the interview. The doctor with Sheen's permission told the junk food media, that he is being treated for the disease and he doesn't have the latent AIDS.
He had admitted that he had unprotected sex while he was being treated for HIV.
He is taking the triple cocktail and admits to having doing it with alcohol.
In the rambling interview, Sheen admits he had HIV since the meltdown that led to his firing on the CBS hit Two and a Half Men. For nearly four years, Sheen knew about it and was ashamed that he had it.
He went through a binge of cocaine, alcohol and prostitutes. He had unprotected sex with a woman who may have had the virus. He admitted that he didn't care. He told his ex-wives Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller about his situation. They agreed to keep it to themselves.
During the three seasons of Anger Management, rumors were going around about the A-list celebrity having numerous flings with women. They were saying that this actor was doing risky things exposing himself to HIV.
At the time, I didn't give two cares about it. I knew that the only celebrities I could think off, Sheen, Eddie Murphy, and Hugh Grant.
The prostitutes were women and transgender. He knew that the day would come when the world would know.
A former porn star was knocked up by Sheen. She had an abortion and told the junk food media that she now has to be tested constantly.
Sheen also admits that he had unprotected sex with numerous women while being infected with the deadly virus. He admits that a prostitute went through his stuff and found the retro treatment in his bathroom.
Sheen admits that he was being exploited by tabloids.
He said that he's been with his family.
Now the social media is buzzing about the controversy. This may be the biggest bombshell in the entertainment industry.
Charlie Sheen says he's been a victim of "betrayal and extortion," paying people millions to not disclose his secret https://t.co/KATzSjEiwU
Sheen may face some lawsuits and criminal misconduct charges. He admits that he will face his maker in the wake of his tragedy. He also said that he's been struggling to get back into acting since having HIV. Sheen admits he's battled depression during this period.
Sheen says that he will now "take the high road" to discuss his road to recovery.
No word of comment from producer Chuck Lorrie, former co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones (from Two and a Half Men) or Shawnee Smith (of Anger Management).
I've heard that Republican governors want to block access to refugees because of the Paris attacks.
They believe that the federal government will not do proper vetting of those seeking refuge from the civil war in Syria.
They claim that terrorists could infiltrate fleeing refugees seeking asylum. The president said that the United States is willing to accept 10,000 Syrians to seek asylum.
The president gets annoyed by the quarterbacking from his critics. The Republicans once again blame the president for the Paris attacks. They believe that he's not taking the threat of terrorism seriously.
He won't even say the "radical Islam". It's the new phrase used in the word vomit drinking game.
The Republicans and their conservative agitators offer no real solution on how to combat terrorism.
The only answer to the problem, attack President Barack Obama and his allies for not saying "radical Islam" and not recognizing the threat.
When Republicans can prove they're tough on terrorism, come and see me!
President Barack Obama said that critics love "pop off" with their opinions about the U.S. campaign against the Islamic State without offering real ideas to combat the threat.
He says they should present a specific plan. And if his critics think their advisers are smarter than Obama's, the president says, "I want to meet them."
Obama says his sole interest is in keeping the American people safe. He says he's not interested in doing what works politically or will make him or America look tough.
Some Republican presidential candidates have called on Obama to send U.S. ground troops into Syria. Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz have said that any U.S. assistance to Middle Eastern refugees should focus primarily on Christians fleeing persecution.
Ben Carson recently said he had information on China's involvement in Syria. Obama officials said they had no evidence of that. Carson expressed surprise that "my sources are better than theirs."
Now clearly, Republicans have no room to talk. The worst disaster to happen on American soil happened under a Republican president.
Mind you that Republicans now taken this nationalist stance against immigrants. They seriously ignore the principles of America being a "welcoming place". Donald Trump believes that we should eliminate Islamic mosques in the United States. Carson claims that "radical Islam" is the new Nazis. Cruz wants to say that Obama throws Israel and Christians under the bus.
These clowns are scared of the Muslims.
Most Muslims condemn this senseless violence.
A repetitive pattern of the Republicans and their conservative allies.
When Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter.
When the Black community demands police reform and body cameras, Republicans claim that they're not focused on Black-on-whatever crime. They claim that protesting against injustice is liberal indoctrination and professional race-baiters. The Republicans believe that Black Lives Matter embraces cop killing.
When you talk about comprehensive immigration reform, they call it amnesty. They don't want to grant hardworking immigrants the opportunity to be American citizens. In their minds, if they pass this monumental Civil Rights bill, the Democrats get the credit.
Republicans are just as radical as the terrorists. They want to meddle in the lives of women by cutting funds to Planned Parenthood.
They want to eliminate birthright citizenship. They want to put undocumented immigrants into federal time out. They want to pass this Kate Steinle law to punish small time undocumented criminals.
A lot of smoke but no fire.
They want to repeal Obamacare despite the Supreme Court ruling it constitutional.
They want to repeal Dodd-Frank and let the financial market crash again.
They want to build a huge border fence on the U.S.-Mexican border ignoring the U.S.-Canadian border being loose.
They want to let the TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline flow through the Midwest with dirty tar sand oil they'll export to East Asia.
They want to pass religious freedom laws that discriminate against Muslims, the LGBT community non-Christian residents.
Gun crime happens everyday in the United States. They can't figure out what is the worst event to exploit. When the victim's families call for gun control and more accountability towards gun ownership, Republicans stand in the way with ridiculous hypotheticals. They will says that the victim's families are exploiting their member's death for a gun grab.
They continue to cry about the the junk food media being liberal despite being Republican candidates getting more attention than the Democrats.
The Republican Party fucking sucks. They make stupid look smart.
Minneapolis Police investigating death of unarmed man while in custody.
Back in the summer, the conservative agitators were pissed that members of the #BlackLivesMatter movement chanted "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon" at the Minnesota State Fair.
Many in law enforcement (i.e. Republican-elected lawmen) were saying that the rhetoric from Black Lives Matter inspires cop killings.
Black Lives Matter dismisses the criticism. The activists want the police reform. They want those in law enforcement held accountable for reckless calls. They say that the junk food media is trying to paint the group as domestic terrorist and the like.
If it wasn't for DeRay McKesson, Shaun White, and Bree Newsome, you wouldn't hear about the story of Jamar Clark.
Jamar was gunned down by the Minneapolis Police. According to the witnesses, he was shot by the law while being handcuffed.
The family quickly wen to social media to announce the death of Jamar. It got picked up by #BlackLivesMatter and now it's getting national attention.
The death of Jamar has the law doing an investigation to why deadly force was used in the encounter.
Jamar was suspected in an assault, and was interfering with emergency workers trying to provide aid to a victim. He was shot during a physical struggle, police said.
But witnesses say Jamar was not resisting arrest and was laying on the ground when he was shot, according to the NAACP.
The state takes over the investigation. The issue is still ongoing. The law hasn't released the names of the officers who were involved in the encounter.
Minneapolis Police dispute the witness encounter of Jamar being shot while being detained.
There is video footage of the encounter but it's being held back pending an investigation if the lawmen made a reckless call.
Now protesters are demanding to view the video. They want the names of the officers who were placed in the freezer pending a grand jury decision.
Police Chief Janeé Harteau said Sunday afternoon that her department’s preliminary information is that the man was not handcuffed when police shot him.
Anger and distrust fueled a rally called by Black Lives Matter Minneapolis that began at 3 p.m. at the shooting scene and continued into the evening a few blocks away outside the police department’s Fourth Precinct headquarters.
The protest began with about 250 people ringing the block where Clark was shot, to create a “no-cops zone.”
Rally speakers held firm to the view that Clark was handcuffed when shot and voiced doubt that a BCA probe could be impartial.
“I want to acknowledge that this is a very difficult situation for everyone involved: For members of our community, members of the Minneapolis Police Department and their families, and for the people that are standing here beside me,” Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau said. “We need to know exactly what happened. We need to know the truth. Everyone involved needs that and deserves that.”
World News Today send our condolences to the family of Jamar Clark.
Not winning. Famed entertainer will tell the world he's got caught up!
A week ago, an adult entertainer threatened a lawsuit against a major A-list actor. She said that he was living secretly with the deadly virus. She said that he's appeared in movies and television.
It was splashed on the conservative Craigslist Saturday night. And now the sources point to....the son of Martin Sheen. He is the brother of Ramon, Renee and Emilo Estévez. The man who had rocky relationships with Donna Peele. Then comes Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller (the mothers of his children).
At a point I had to think that the only person I've known who had issues prostitutes, cocaine and alcohol was Charlie Sheen.
The famed actor will appear on NBC Today to discuss the controversy. Carlos Irwin Estévez (known as Charlie Sheen) will confirm to the rumors.
A huge bombshell for the entertainment industry.
Sheen has appeared in major movies such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Platoon, Hot Shots, and Wall Street. He starred in television shows such as Spin City, Two and a Half Men, and Anger Management.
Many in the industry knew that Charlie had issues. He was dealing with drugs, sex, and alcohol. The woman puts his business on blast. She said that Sheen would invite women from the adult entertainment industry to have orgies. He would sleep with women and transgender prostitutes.
According to numerous sources, Sheen is HIV-positive, It's a legacy of his past solicitations with prostitutes and substance abuses.
The world's largest social media website faces criticism for selective sympathy.
The social media juggernaut is facing harsh criticism for being selective in how they cover tragedies.
The attacks in Paris attracted global attention. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the Friday night attacks leaving over 130 dead. Now the law is searching for the ringleaders involved. They zeroed in on Belgium and are targeting sites in Syria which were strongholds for the extremist group.
Facebook showed solidarity to the victims by activating the "I'm Safe" function. The function activates whenever an emergency happens in the world.
What got people pissed at the social media giant, the tragedy in Beirut, Lebanon. There are people active on Facebook in Lebanon.
Earlier this month the Islamic State struck a marketplace in Beirut killing 43 people Thursday. Of course, we ignored that tragedy. The junk food media focused on Paris.
Mark Zuckerberg responds to the controversy. He at first was shocked that people were upset over the function. But he soon realized that Facebook screwed up.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has to backtrack on the "I'm Safe" function.
"Many people have rightfully asked why we turned on Safety Check for Paris but not for bombings in Beirut and other places," he wrote on his Facebook page.
"Until yesterday, our policy was only to activate Safety Check for natural disasters. We just changed this and now plan to activate Safety Check for more human disasters going forward as well."
"Thank you to everyone who has reached out with questions and concerns about this. You are right that there are many other important conflicts in the world. We care about all people equally, and we will work hard to help people suffering in as many of these situations as we can."
"We care about all people equally, and we will work hard to help people suffering in as many of these situations as we can," said Zuckerberg.
Paris is a global city and considered an Alpha+ city.
The cities that the junk food media often see as potential targets of terrorism are New York, London, Paris, Washington, DC, Tokyo, Sydney, Berlin, Beijing, Moscow, Madrid, Mumbai, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Beirut has experienced numerous massacres in the past two years. No mentions by the junk food media here in the United States.
We send our condolences to the victims of Paris, Beirut and Russian Jet tragedies.
We will cover the Paris tragedies as best as we can.
This year marks a grave milestone for Maryland's largest city of 615,000. The city of Baltimore has had over 300 homicides. That's approximately 1 person a day gunned down by firearms.
This milestone overshadows the controversial incident that happened back in April.
When Baltimore Police arrested Freddie Gray. he was screaming in pain. He was transported to the local lockup. When they arrived to the lockup they found a motionless Freddie.
Freddie was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. The doctors determined that Freddie suffered a severed spine. He would die after three days.
The residents in this neighborhood recorded the encounter. They believe that the law was negligent.
It lead to three incidents of rioting in the city. The junk food media raced to the city to film residents robbing liquor stores and shoe stores. When the rioting died down, the state prosecutor charged six officers with involuntary manslaughter. Each officer has a day in court.
Post-riot there has been a 45% increase in violent crime in the city.
Baltimore, Chicago, St. Louis, Washington, DC, Sacramento, and Milwaukee have reported a surge in violent crime. The law singles out repeat offenders, illicit drugs and guns with bigger magazines as part of the increase.
Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake appoints new blood. The new police commissioner Kevin Davis has to turn it around or face a cannon firing.
Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey last month said that murder rates were soaring in many cities partly because police were holding back from aggressive tactics, fearful of being video recorded and accused of brutality.
The so-called Ferguson effect has become the racist right's rally call.
Conservatives balked that #BlackLivesMatter plot murder on law enforcement.
Stephanie Rawlings-Blake fired the police commissioner Anthony Batts this year. The city award Freddie's family $6.5 million in punitive damages. Rawlings-Blake decided to not run for reelection.
The impact has sparked feverish discussion on police brutality and accountability.
GUN CRIME IS THE NUMBER ONE THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES! THIS BEATS TERRORISM AND DISEASES SUCH AS HIV AND EBOLA. HEROIN WOULD BE CONSIDERED THE SECOND THREAT IN THE UNITED STATES. THE INEPT LAWMAKERS IN WASHINGTON REFUSE TO PASS COMPREHENSIVE GUN CONTROL LAWS THAT PREVENTS CRIMINALS, TERRORISTS AND THE MENTALLY ILL FROM OBTAINING ACCESS TO FIREARMS.
Terrorism is a part of the daily routine. The American politicos flex their "I'm a big muscle in the wake of the tragic terrorist attack in Paris, France.
Let me be clear, gun violence is a bigger threat here in the United States, than terrorism. Terrorism and diseases such as HIV and Ebola are exploited by the junk food media for fear.
The 15 Republican knuckle heads like to flex their "I can do this" muscle. They have no real answer to stopping terrorism. All I hear from the candidates is blaming people for unfortunate circumstances.
We haven't had a horrific [international] terrorist attack on our country since September 11, 2001. But to the Republicans and agitators in the media, President Barack Obama can't do nothing. The president has been aggressive against terrorism. It's unfortunate that the Islamic State and al Qaeda exists. Our country's influence in the Middle East has sparked feverish outrage.
The United States has blind support for the Israeli government's apartheid on the West Bank and Gaza Strip is one main reason.
We uprooted foreign leaders who we believe impedes on our "capitalism" and "values". Americans show constant bigotry towards people because of their race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, political and economic standings. Terrorism is inspired by animosity towards these groups. Terrorism exists. It's not going to stop. It's a part of daily routine here and abroad. It's a shame that we don't consider every mass shootings in our country as terrorism. It's a shame we don't consider any gun crime as terrorism. I don't call it radical Islam like the Republicans and conservative agitators. I call it terrorism.
HIV exists. It's not going to stop. It's a part of the daily routine here and abroad. Heroin and denial are the reasons to why the virus continues to thrive here in the United States.
No one talks about that in the debates. Nobody understands that heroin is causing HIV risks. Matter of fact, heroin should be second. Because so many suburban White people are killing themselves. White women are using heroin at a faster pace.
Me and S. Baldwin send our condolences to the numerous victims of the Paris attacks. On September 13, 2015, seven terrorists aimed at numerous venues in the Parisian night. The terrorists managed to kill 130 people and injured numerous people. It's confirmed that an American student studying abroad was one of the victims of this tragedy. Nohemi Gonzalez was one of the first confirmed Americans killed. She was only 23 and a student from Cal State University.
Now the world is mourning the losses.
Everyone here in the United States are showing solidarity by going to social media and posting their thoughts.
James Foley's family blames Obama for their son's death. Instead of blaming the terrorists, conservatives find the real threat to America is the President of the United States.
This became an issue for the Republicans and Democrats. Last night Democratic debate on CBS began with a focus on the tragedy. Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley all had an opportunity to express their desires to take on the threat. They offer no real answer to how to take on the threat.
The Republicans on the other hand now are using this as a banter to attack President Barack Obama.
In an interview on ABC, the president said that the Islamic State is being "contained".
Conservative agitators and the candidates are seizing on that remark as a reason to say the president is aloof and not taking the threat seriously.
The U.S. gained some ground in the fight against the extremist group. An U.S. airstrike may have killed Mohammad Ewazi, the junk food media's so-called "Jihad John" spokesman.
The French government has been active in retaliation. The junk food media broke the news that French fighter jets strike on the de facto base of the Islamic State.
On GOP Sundays, you had commentators, agitators, and politicos wonk it out about how to fight an organization that seems to be getting more powerful by the day.
Republicans now saying that we shouldn't allow Syrian refugees asylum. They believe that terrorists could slip into the United States. Terrorism is already here in the United States. We have our own people leaving their families to join the Islamic State and al Qaeda.
Terrorism is going to be around 24/7.
Americans should use their common sense.
Always expect something to happen.
We should not live in a bubble fearing the unknown.
We never expect mass shootings in our country let alone a terrorist attacks.
Republicans don't see any reason to close the gun sale loopholes. Even if we accept Syrian refugees, they go through a background check. If one does slip into the United States, they'll have access to firearms through strawman purchases.
We have mass shootings everyday in the United States. There was a mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in October and one just last night. There was an entire family murdered in Jacksonville by a man.
So I don't want to hear this talk about terrorism, radical Islam and boots on the ground. We have people murdering people with firearms here in our country. This is the real threat to the country.
Jenean Hampton becomes Kentucky's lieutenant governor. She is the first African American to hold the position. She is a registered Republican.
Kentucky's soon to be governor Matt Bevin is no longer a perennial gadfly. It was a healthy victory for the insurgent Republican. Did you know that the controversial businessman had a running mate that also won. Her victory marks a first for the state.
Jenean Hampton becomes the lieutenant governor for the state. She is the first African American to hold this position. She was elected as a Republican.
The 58 year old mother and grandmother started from humble beginnings. She grew up in the Detroit area. Her family worked in the manufacturing boom of the automotive juggernaut Chrysler.
She joined the U.S. Air Force, where she spent seven years writing code and managing software like the radar used to find enemy planes in Operation Desert Storm, where she was deployed. She then spent 19 years in the corrugated packing industry.
She boldly says that she's not a fan of Barack Obama and vows to oppose his policies. That often cause a family feud between her and her late father.
It's apparently a mystery to her family, too. Hampton said her father, who recently died, "went to his grave mad at me."
"That I'm conservative, Republican, didn't support Obama — he just could not wrap his arms around that," she told Bailey.
Hampton says her guiding light is constitutionally limited government, and she told Bailey that when trying to climb out of inner-city Detroit, she felt government and friends and family around her were rooting for her to fail:
"A huge part of what formed my opinions was the peer pressure that I got to fail," she said. "These were kids who questioned my good grades, questioned the way I spoke, questioned my choice in music and the fact that I was reading all the time. I just remember wondering, 'Well, jeez, when do I get to just be Jenean with my own likes and dislikes?' "
As she got older, she said she despised Nixon's Republican Party but came around to the GOP when Ronald Reagan was president because he reflected her own optimism about the American Dream, according to Bailey.
Now as the lieutenant governor, Hampton will do her best to make Republicans seem less racist than they normally are.
The race in the Bluegrass state was supposed to be a victory for the Democrats.
The people of Kentucky love KNect, the state's health care exchange. Outgoing governor Steve Beshear was at best a decent governor. The Democrats didn't put much in the races for governor.
But I guess Donald Trump's impact and the state's opposition to gay marriage being a contributing factor to Bevin winning the governor's race.
If I had to pick between a political debate and football game, I would say football. Given that CBS decided to place the Democratic debate on Saturday, they knew that about less than 3 million would watch it. Given that there's three candidates remaining in the Democratic presidential primary race.
Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) were at Drake University for tonight's debate.
This the second debate for the Democrats. There was a forum last Friday being hosted by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow in South Carolina.
The Democrats mostly stayed focused on issues involving the economy.
The debate changed directions given the Paris attacks. The main focus of tonight's debate focused on how to prevent a terrorist attack in the United States.
Clinton, O'Malley and Sanders have all had an opportunity to debate the issues. Terrorism, social programs, how to work with the Republicans, the Obama legacy, Clinton's trustworthiness, Sanders's being a Democratic Socialist, and O'Malley's reaction to #BlackLivesMatter.
I want to say that I didn't fall asleep listening to the candidates. I mean there was a few moments where the candidates did raise their voices at one another.
I am not going to bore you with the debate. All I can say is who won this debate?
I was caught off guard by the horrific attacks in the French Republic. The city of Paris is under siege.
Terrorism happened tonight in the entertainment districts of Paris France. World News Today send our condolences to the victims of this senseless tragedy.
Shopping while Black in Australia.
In Melbourne, Victoria, a group of Black students went into an Apple Store and they got roused by the store security. After exiting the building, the manager came out to inform the students that they were acting suspiciously and he feared they were planning on lifting property.
A video of the interaction between a Highpoint Apple store staff member and a group of students was uploaded to Facebook on Tuesday night.
The six boys from Maribyrnong College were denied entry to the store by a staff member and two security guards.
“These guys [security guards] are just a bit worried about your presence in our store. They’re just worried you might steal something,” the Apple staff member says in the video.
A member of the group replied: “Why would we steal something?”
One of the students evicted from the store, Mabior Ater, told Fairfax Media that he had been going to the Highpoint shopping centre for a long time.
“I never thought something like this would happen ... of course I was offended,” he said.
Ater said the principal of their school accompanied the students back to the store to help them in seeking an apology.
“[The manager] apologized to us and told us that we are welcome here anytime,” he said. “It feels like we have justice now.”
An Apple Australia spokeswoman told Guardian Australia that the company would not be commenting.
Apple CEO Tim Cook wasn't pleased about this.
Tim Cook in company-wide email: Melbourne Apple Store incident “unacceptable”:
Apple CEO Tim Cook sent an ema... https://t.co/YXhYrvKOQW
He ordered an immediate retraining of all employees. The company released a statement saying that "inclusion and diversity are among Apple's core values. We believe in equality for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. That applies throughout our company, around the world with no exceptions. We've looked into the details of the situation and we apologize to the customers involved. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure all our customers are treated the way they should be."
