Paul Ryan will have more time with his Bowflex now. The Wisconsin lawmakers is resigning from Congress and House Speakership |
Steve Bannon claims victory. He got rid of another House Speaker again.
Shocking news out of Washington, DC. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) resigns from Congress after the U.S. Midterms.
Donald J. Trump, Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi were notified about the decision.
The congressman from Wisconsin who was once a former vice presidential nominee for Mitt Romney has decided to bow out. Behind the scenes, Ryan was annoyed with how things were piled up on him. He really didn't want to do the job at first but took the spot after pressure from establishment Republicans.
Jeanine Pirro got her wish.
Paul Ryan's gotta go!
For nearly two years, Ryan had to wrestle with Barack Obama, Republicans and Donald J. Trump on getting things done.
He like his predecessor John Boehner was really getting tired of being told how to do his job by the underlings of the Republican House.
Ryan clashed behind the scenes with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) over tax reform, Clinton emails and the Trump dossier.
Ryan was hoping to make one big accomplishment before leaving.
He wants to change the tax code and he is clearly on his way to doing so.
Despite it being rush through, Republicans narrowly passed the House and Senate version. Now it's being worked out behind the scenes and will face a vote soon.
Ryan was facing a tough challenger. The Democrat, Randy Bryce was hoping to oust the Speaker from his seat. He informed of the news. Bryce wanted to take him on. Now he will be facing a Republican challenger who could make Ryan's district safe.
On that note, Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) is resigning from Congress too. He will not seek reelection. He was accused of sexual harassment and hostile workplace behavior. He paid out a hefty sum to his accusers using taxpayer money.
Don't forget we have Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) also in the crosshairs.
More on that next posting.
