El-Sayed Ran Through Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood!

Mike Rogers wanted to call him a ________ but was tiptoeing.

Newsnation and Wood 8 TV out of Grand Rapids, Michigan hosted the second senate debate between former Republican U.S. lawmaker Mike Rogers and former Wayne County Medical advisor, Abdul El-Sayed.

The former lawmaker skipped the Fox 2 Detroit debate because he complained about the moderator not giving him a fair shake. So El-Sayed decided to have an open forum.

El-Sayed, said the debate is about you. He said his opponent wants to make about him.

Sure enough.

So in this hour, the Democratic nominee had literally got Rogers sweating. I mean I am watching the recap and it is whew chile.....

Rogers displayed an intensely aggressive, physically animated, and angry demeanor throughout the debate.

The candidates traded sharp rhetorical barbs. Rogers accused El-Sayed of being a "glitchy AI chatbot" who repeats the same talking points, while El-Sayed countered by calling Rogers "weak" and "cowardly."

The debate grew particularly tense regarding Israel and Iran. Rogers, a staunch backer of Israel, pressed El-Sayed on why he had not released a statement marking three years since the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks. El-Sayed responded that he has condemned the attacks but refused to turn the tragedy into "political theater".

El-Sayed, who would become the nation's first Muslim senator if elected, confronted Rogers for "tiptoeing around" dog whistles after Rogers repeatedly brought up terrorist watch lists and alleged El-Sayed had ties to radical groups—claims El-Sayed's campaign strongly denies.

The candidates sparred over the economic impact of newly implemented tariffs on goods from Canada, a major trading partner for Michigan. Rogers called for an end to the trade war, while El-Sayed attacked Rogers for initially supporting President Trump's tariff pushes, citing studies on how costly they have been for Michigan households.

Both candidates attempted to paint each other as out of touch. El-Sayed scrutinized Rogers over a waterfront mansion he owns in Florida, while Rogers targeted rental property owned by El-Sayed's wife in the United Arab Emirates.

If you aren't voting for Abdul El-Sayed, you must enjoy paying $4.79⁹ in gas and 7.85⁹ in diesel. You must enjoy spending ⅓ of your paycheck for groceries. You must enjoy driving on crumbling roads and bridges where a potential disaster (nature or man-made) could damage your vehicle or kill you. You must enjoy not taking vacations or having to work endless hours and still your take home pay is crap.

If El-Sayed wins, he will immediately be considered a 2028 presidential contender.

Trust me, he is very likely going to be on that list.
