❤😘💘!

I am sometimes glad I am single. I choose to be single for a reason. Right now, I don't want the drama. I just am tired of giving and doing too much.

On Valentine's Day, the average cost of spending on your loved one ranges from $20 to $300.

Be aware of the social media dating sites. If the person sends you a message on the first like, delete it. If the person asks you to visit other sites to connect, delete. If you feel pressure to do something because of the match, delete.

Recognizing an Online Dating Scam Artist

Your online "date" may only be interested in your money if he or she:
  • Presses you to leave the dating website you met through and to communicate using personal e-mail or instant messaging;
  • Professes instant feelings of love;
  • Sends you a photograph of himself or herself that looks like something from a glamour magazine;
  • Claims to be from the U.S. and is traveling or working overseas;
  • Makes plans to visit you but is then unable to do so because of a tragic event; or
  • Asks for money for a variety of reasons (travel, medical emergencies, hotel bills, hospitals bills for child or other relative, visas or other official documents, losses from a financial setback or crime victimization).
One way to steer clear of these criminals all together is to stick to online dating websites with nationally known reputations.

I am single and I am happy now being single. After years of trials and error, I finally came to the conclusion that I rather be single than in a committed relationship.

The loss of a job I loved and helping people who never backed me when I was at my lowest point has me finally waking up to the reality of being a deserted island.

Working two jobs I despise has made me learn that companies need bodies not good or bad workers. I am hoping to leave both jobs for something better. Trust me, I still maintain loyalty but it has waned over the years. I am just sick and tired of working for companies that I despise.

My biggest fear in life is failure.

I am a single father. I am a surprise father who learned about his birth months later. I never got my moment to be a first time father. It has traumatized me.

I have now learned to date and have no regrets to telling women who want to be in a relationship that I choose to be single. I used to have feelings towards those who cared, but now I could care less about people. I don't hardly get on social media and I choose to be careful about my movements.

I don't care what people say about me in public or in private. I have learned to accept the reality of being single. It wasn't easy at first. I liked a lot of women in the past.

I loved about six in my life. But now I love myself and my son.

I don't worry about Valentine's Day or any special holiday where I would spend lots of money to a woman who doesn't love me. I have to keep my guard up now because I have been through a lot to say the least.

Love.

Valentine's Day is perfect day for those who want to get married, want to be an exclusive couple, a birth, a death or a moment in history for an achievement.

I made peace with the women I've dated with in the past. I don't want to be in a relationship right now because I just rather stay focused on making money and getting a home.

I just don't have time for commitments. I don't want to carry the weight of guilt, jealousy or selfishness when it comes to being in a relationship. I have given the past relationships more than one chance. I am through with giving more opportunities to be hurt.

It's basically me being a bachelor for the time being. I rather be a single dad.

I've only loved a few women in my time. I don't admit I love a person. I feel like I've put too much into a relationship only to be let down or hurt. So I am staying numb to saying love and wanting any relationships.

I was so tired of wasting my time dating women who take advantage of me. I've called myself the dreaded "NICE GUY" who will end up always in the "FRIEND ZONE".

I feel like I'm in the "FRIEND ZONE" and may end up getting a "HIT IT AND QUIT IT" relationship.

The social media websites that attract singles are booming today. Facebook, OKCupid, eHarmony, POF, Bumble, Badoo, Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, Match.com, MeetMe, Grindr and Christian Mingle see a spike around the week of Valentine's Day.

Romeo Rose is the world's most loveless loser.

Romeo Rose is still alive right?

This guy became a viral sensation and a butt of ridicule. He did an interview in which he went on and said some vicious things about Black women, interracial relationship and women who are overweight.

Since then, he's been blackballed on social media and women often swipe to the left when his face shows up on their social dating websites.

What's Valentine's Day without that racist goofball?

Now going by the name of David Cassanova, this white nationalist is grifting for love.

This guy is a predator. Even looking at him gives me pedophile vibes.

For the Valentine's Day story there is the White House trolling House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). This is the five year anniversary of the Parkland Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting and the most recent shooting in Kansas City at the Chiefs parade.

The White House posted on X an image of Johnson with a red background and broken hearts with the caption: "Happy Valentine's Day, Speaker Johnson."

Instead, the card posted on social media noted that Johnson played a key role in defeating a border bill that even the conservative Wall Street Journal called “the most restrictive migrant legislation in decades” with “long-time GOP priorities that the party’s restrictionists could never have passed only a few months ago.”

Although many people suggested Johnson’s opposition to the bipartisan bill was only to help Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, he claimed that was “absurd.”

The Chiefs Parade will be covered.

Valentine's Day Massacre: Mass Shooting In Kansas City!

Celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs turning into a mass shooting.

Be warned, the video footage and images could be graphic.

Police often see firearms as a threat in the hands of civilians. I mean they are quick to use force whenever they see a Black, Hispanic or Asians using firearms.

But in my last posting, I made a list of what the far right sees as a threat.

White people posing with guns are looked upon as tough, macho, heroes, patriotic, etc.

Black people posing with guns are looked upon as....
  1. Criminals.
  2. Thugs.
  3. Unfit parents.
  4. Violent liberals.
  5. Future delinquents.
  6. School to prison pipeline.
  7. A conservative propagandist's wet dream.
The No. 1 issue in the United States is gun violence. A problem that never seems to be solved through federal legislation and state legislation. According to the Republican Party, National Rifle Association, Gun Owner's of America, some Democrats and extremists love the Second Amendment. Of course, they want to silence dissent when it comes to stopping gun violence and opposition to Israel's genocide in Palestine. There's Russia invading Ukraine and the crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These issues won't change the mind of Republicans and some Democrats.

It's important to keep the pressure on these lawmakers.

Even in a moment of triumph, here comes the gun violence.

So thus, in the state of Missouri where Republicans have a supermajority in Jefferson City, the state lawmakers and governor allowed more firearms and stripped away a woman's right to choose, feeding children and forcing mandates to obtain unemployment. And of course, Missouri is home to approximately 400 active hate groups.

Missouri is an open carry gun state, and 2023 had set the city's one-year record of 184 gunshot deaths. Missouri's gun laws do not require residents to have a state permit or licensing requirement before buying or owning rifles, shotguns, or handguns.

Image of the deceased victim being shot.

Oh well.

Gov. Mike Parson, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Sen. Eric Schmidt (R-MO), the U.S. Representatives of Missouri and the Kansas City Chiefs are notified of the latest mass shooting.

Mass shooting No. 57.

On February 14, 2024, at least one person was killed and 22 others were injured in a mass shooting at the west side of Kansas City Union Station. Eight children were among the injured. The shooting followed a Super Bowl LVIII victory parade for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Three individuals were apprehended following the incident, two of whom were armed.

No members of the Kansas City Chiefs were injured. A 45-year old woman was killed.

About 25 people, mostly children were injured.

You're not safe even at a parade.

Biden said today's shooting "cuts deep in the American soul" and should spur voters to call on Congress to take action on gun measures.

"Today's events should move us, shock us, shame us into acting," he said in a lengthy statement. "We know what we have to do, we just need the courage to do it."

Biden, who noted that today is the sixth anniversary of the Parkland mass shooting in Florida, renewed his calls for Congress to pass tougher gun laws, including a ban on assault weapons.

He added that both he and first lady Jill Biden "pray for those killed and injured today in Kansas City, and for our country to find the resolve to end this senseless epidemic of gun violence tearing us at the seams."

What happens is we cover it for a few days, get reaction from President Joe Biden, a state governor or a mayor about the latest mass shooting in the country.

We talk about the weapon of choice for mass shootings. The calls for more gun reform grow only for Republicans and some Democrats to balk at it.

Now this event will be a part of Kansas City's history.

Republicans will say "Now it's not the time to talk about gun violence."

These murderers don't have mental illness. They are calculated and prepared. It happened to be a moment where they have the opportunity to take out lives. There's no sickness in the head. Most mass shooters legally obtain their assault rifles without little background checks. They have likely no criminal history and they are willing to use the assault weapon in the only thing it's good for: Killing numerous lives.

I dismiss this ridiculous notion that criminals are the problem, not the guns. Firearms are often obtained through legal purchases.

Again, having more security, teachers being armed and offering safe rooms are not solving the problem. The problem is lawmakers not willing to stop gun violence.

THE NICE GUY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PERSON WITH A FIREARM. THOSE WHO ARE SPURN BY RELATIONSHIPS, THE WORKPLACE, SOCIETY IN GENERAL WILL SEEK REVENGE BY TAKING OUT LIVES. THEY WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS OF MASSACRING THEIR FELLOW HUMAN BEING.

THE JUNK FOOD MEDIA AND POLITICIANS ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE BY AMPING UP POLARIZING RHETORIC.

Police and parade watchers detain a possible shooter.

What to do to protect your life.

1. Run - If you hear sounds like firecrackers, popping sounds or suspicious activities around a large gathering (i.e. malls, stores, clubs, public gatherings), if you can flee, run away from the shooter. Do not run in a straight path of the sight. Move around and zig-zag if possible to keep yourself out the line of fire. It's best to not film a shooter commiting the act. If you are willing to risk your life for a viral video, more power to you but its best to stay out of the line of fire by running away.

2. Hide - If you are involved in an active shooting, you must barricade yourself in a room and keep doors locked, lights off, phones on silent. Do not go into restrooms, lockers and kitchens. Those are most likely places where shooters often go. If you can barricade a room to prevent a shooter from getting in, it eliminate the opportunity for the shooter to get through. Make sure you keep your voice low when you're involved in mass shooting. Call 9-1-1 if you can.

3. Fight - If you are willing to risk your life or willing to film the incident, you have no choice but to fight. Make sure you grab something that is powerful enough to disarm a shooter. Do not confront a shooter in the midst of sight. Make yourself not visible if you're trying to fight. Do not think being a "good guy with a gun" is going to stop a bad guy. The cops don't see good guys trying to stop bad guys. They see active shooters and they will shoot anyone who is armed regardless of the matter. If you're ready to fight, be prepared to die. It's best to not be easily seen if you're trying to stop a shooter. If you're a conceal carry and attempt to disarm an active shooter, you are willing to sacrifice your life to save lives. You are willing to go hero, you could die a hero or an idiot.

Police detain a man who could have been involved in the shooting.

4. Realize - Mind you, that the types of firearms used by shooter are based on capacity which limits the time of reaction. As with rule 3, you have only less than a second to make a reaction when the shooter is set on sights. So there's no real solution to save your life in the event of an active shooter. The best thing to do is understand, that anywhere in the United States could be a target of a mass shooting. Congress isn't doing a damn thing about it.

The far right often infiltrate protests and cause chaos to paint progressives protests as violent. Even when the far right attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, they believed that far left members infiltrated the mob. Ignore the fact that Donald J. Trump and his allies urged the supporters to come, called for them to protest and told them to not show weakness.

According to the far rightWhite shooters are mentally ill. Black shooters are unrepentant criminals and thugs. Gay shooters are active groomers. Arab and Muslim shooters are terrorists. Hispanic and Asian shooters are illegal immigrants. Almost all mass shooters are registered Democrats because they have liked one thing common to the left. Of course, they often share disinformation by using the "Sam Hyde" meme as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white. Whataboutism is on full display when mass shootings happen and the calls for gun control grow. They say a white person should "protect" themselves from protesters and the use of firearms are justified. They say if a shooter is active military or a veteran who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and the use of firearms are justified. If the shooters are teens, the far right automatically assume the gunmen are Black. Social media is a driving factor to how these callous individuals think. They soon become a possible mass shooter.

The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox, X and they force it into national news. They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican lawmakers who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms. The far right and Republicans exploit gun violence in the Black community for culture wars and racism.

Only in America.

Republicans solutions are more guns, blame others for America's social ills and defect from accepting reality.

You're not safe at home, in the school, the concert, the hospital, the church, the casino, the bus station, the subway, the light rail train, the buses, the malls, the local big box store, the political rally, the local parade, the protest rally, the beach, the women's center for reproductive surgeries, the mosque, the synagogue, the road trip, the natural disasters, the state/federal buildings, the workplace, the gas station, the family picnic, the food truck rally, the funerals, the birthday parties, the graduations, the wedding, the televised events, the sporting events, the homeless shelter and many more events that have some terrorist with a firearm. Domestic violence, suicide, racism, culture war inspired, politically motivated and international operative inspired are types of gun violence.

Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of never ending tragedy. Gun violence, extremism and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms.

I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth.

When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. This good guy with a gun nonsense has to end. The cops didn't do nothing when children were shot inside a school. A security guard was shot dead trying to protect shoppers. A cop accidentally shot his own. The good guy who tried to stop a bad guy is outgunned and a part of the rule #3.

Remember #3 means: The "good guy with a gun" better be prepared to die if they want to stop a shooter.

I don't want to hear folks say masks and vaccine mandates impede their freedoms. It prevents a deadly outbreak from spreading. If you want to die from the coronavirus, that's on you. We lost over 1 million people from the coronavirus.

I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history. Thoughts and prayers and your heart going out to the victims is not enough. It quite frankly is an insult. I am also tired of scapegoating Black on Black crime, Chicago, Baltimore and Democratic mayors for the nation's obsession to be numb to gun violence. You pretty much enable this nonsense by deflecting.

Expect more.

President Joe Biden is trying to curb gun violence. However, he has no support from Republicans. Most Democrats and America are for gun control measures. However one Democrat and one independent who caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate refuse to change the filibuster rules and its holding us back.

The National Rifle Association is always pushing against gun control. They will not relinquish from the narrative. These guns are not saving lives. The Republicans aided by a fickle junk food media are openly encouraging anarchy and disruption in a desperate attempt for the Republicans to win back Congress and the White House. These agitators are calling for Biden to curb crime but will not help him. They want more guns on the streets but balk at the fact Blacks obtain them. It makes no sense.

So in closing, expect more.

What Happened To Eboni Pouncy?

Texas woman shot by police.
Well it was bound to happen sometime this year. Another person of color shot by the police.

Did you know that the Israeli government trains U.S. and Canadian police officers tactics on how to arrest civilians?

Oh, in the "free state" of Texas, guns can be lawfully carried in public. Firearms are protected class in the state. They allow firearms in churches. Unfortunately, the Lakewood Church allows them on campus for their security and did not stop a woman from shooting the facility.

When you are at your home, you are allowed to have a firearm on your holster when answering a door. You are allowed to use deadly force if a suspect is entering your home or threatens you while in your vehicle.

Police often see firearms as a threat in the hands of civilians. I mean they are quick to use force whenever they see a Black, Hispanic or Asian using firearms.

The Republicans sure love the 2nd Amendment. They love to flaunt themselves posing with firearms. But if a Black man flaunts a firearm, oh shit, they're complaining about how violent America is and it's the Democrats fault.

So in Houston, two Harris County sheriff's deputies emptied their service weapons into a woman. After getting a call about an intruder, about a few seconds into an interaction, shots were fired.

The Houston woman was repeatedly shot inside her friend’s apartment by deputies responding to a call at a neighboring unit about an intruder, an incident that her attorney, the national civil rights lawyer Ben Crump, said “should have never happened.”

The woman, Eboni Pouncy, was injured in the Feb. 3 shooting and is recovering, Crump said in a statement.

Body camera footage from two Harris County sheriff’s deputies showed them approaching the apartment of Pouncy’s friend. The videos, released Saturday along with a video statement on the incident, show one of the deputies banging on the door and yelling, “Sheriff’s office!”

Both deputies move away from the front door toward the windows.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies empty their service weapons.

One deputy can be heard in the footage saying that she sees someone coming to the door and shouting, “Gun!” The deputies begin firing their weapons repeatedly, reload and continue to fire, the videos show.

The sheriff’s office said a handgun was later recovered inside the apartment near the entrance.

While Crump acknowledged Pouncy was holding her legally registered gun, he added in a statement Monday that “this newly-released body cam footage is evidence of the unnecessary and excessive force used against” his client.

“The video shows the deputies that responded to Eboni’s friend’s house shot first and asked questions later,” Crump said.

In an earlier statement, he compared it to the shooting of Breonna Taylor, a Black woman who was fatally shot by police in Louisville, Kentucky, during a botched 2020 raid at her home.

“It is concerningly clear by the video and Eboni’s injuries that deputies were not justified in shooting her five times,” Crump wrote on X on Monday. “We demand that the deputies involved be immediately held accountable for the terrible injuries that Eboni suffered due to their impulsive actions.”

The sheriff’s office said deputies were called to the Pines of Woodforest Apartments around 2:10 a.m. after a woman reported that someone was inside her apartment, the sheriff’s office said in a video statement.

The first deputy on the scene cleared the apartment and made sure it was “safe and secure,” according to authorities.

After a second deputy arrived, someone in a neighboring unit flagged down the deputies and said that someone had broken into a different apartment.

Both deputies went to that apartment, which belonged to Pouncy’s friend. There, deputies reported seeing “the front window screen removed, broken glass and the blinds raised, near the front door,” the sheriff’s office said in a video statement.

Crump said the window was shattered because Pouncy’s friend had forgotten her house key so the women had broken the window to get inside.

“A neighbor heard the glass shatter and informed the already-present deputies of the sound,” he said in a statement.

Pouncy, fearing it was an intruder, grabbed her handgun and approached the door, according to Crump. Shortly afterward, she was shot by the deputies.

The shooting remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office homicide unit. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the sheriff’s office internal affairs unit are conducting their own independent investigations. The two deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave.

George Santos Vows Revenge On New York GOP!

Santos is sipping on revenge.
So the results are in and the Democrats won another seat once held by Republicans. It makes House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and his majority even more slimmer.

The guy who once occupied the seat vows to defeat Rep. MIke Lawler (R-NY), Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-NY), Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY), Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY), Rep. Mark Molinaro (R-NY), Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) and Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY).

Rep-elect Tom Suozzi (D-NY) will be sworn in by Friday. He will reclaim the seat after he won it back. The previous holder, George Santos was expelled from the House of Representatives by a strong majority. The first openly gay Republican elected to the House of Representatives was exposed before his swearing in.

1. He fabricated his past.
2. He was Jew-ish.
3. He stole from a veteran and his service dog.
4. He misused campaign funds.
5. He lied about his employments, school and certifications.
6. He was arrested in Brazil for check fraud and has an active warrant.
7. He lied about his relationship with women and men.
8. He was considered creepy.
9. He dressed in drag and was a prostitute.

Santos was the laughing stock of the Republican Party.

New York Republicans distanced themselves from him. The only two New York Republicans who stuck with him were MAGA supporting lawmakers Elise Stefanik and Claudia Tenney.

Santos now promoting his latest grifts as he awaits his federal trial. He managed to take digs at the Republican Party of New York and the losing candidate Mazi Pilipi.

Santos told the New York GOP in a text message: “I hope you guys are happy with this dismal performance and the 10 million dollars your futile Bull Shit cost the party.” “I look very much forward to seeing most of you lose due to your absolute hate filled campaign to remove me from Congress arbitrarily,” he added. “Now go tell the Republicans Base [sic] what you fucking idiots did and good luck raising money next quarter.”

Mazi Pilipi will run again.

The House voted to expel Santos in December after a withering Ethics Committee report alleged that he’d blown donors’ cash on personal luxuries including Botox treatments and OnlyFans subscriptions. The report followed a slew of criminal charges related to fraud, identity theft, and making false statements about his finances. His brief time in office had also been overshadowed by countless media reports covering the increasingly baroque list of lies he’d told about his life story and professional history.

As his old seat flipped blue, Santos was apparently not going to miss the opportunity to score some points from the fact that his expulsion—which was backed by 105 GOP lawmakers—had now cost the Republican Party dearly.

Even former president Donald J. Trump chimed in. He said that the Republicans blew an opportunity and got rid of a loyal MAGA despite his shady history.

By the way, Suozzi defeated Santos in 2020. So he lied about being a winner. The Democrats blew an easy race in 2022. They allowed a shady candidate like Santos slip through the cracks.

Mazi Pilipi is a Ethiopian-Israeli American. She served in the IDF before emigrating to the United States. Although she was the Republican nominee, she is a registered Democrat.

Trump claims that MAGA stayed home because they are "tired of RINOs."

Alejandro Mayorkas Impeached! 🍊

House Republicans impeach Alejandro Mayorkas.

You know Tom Suozzi won the special election tonight. It gives Democrat 215 to Republicans 217. Three more seats and Democrats win control of the House of Representatives.

The Republicans will never let these issues go. Instead of solving the problems, they complain, blame and threaten legal repercussions to those who defy them.

They can't govern.

Even this symbolic attempt at impeachment shows that conspiracy theories and misinformation drives this party to the utter chaos its in.

Democrats will return the favor if a Republican administration member riles them up.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was impeached by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. The Senate will not hold a trial and Mayorkas will not be resigning anytime soon. House votes 214–213 to impeach Mayorkas.

The historic move -- only the second Cabinet impeachment since the country's founding, after William Belknap in 1876 -- has been criticized by some Republicans and many Democrats as based on policy disagreements, not allegations of specific crimes. Conservatives have also sought to paint Mayorkas as incompetent.

The impeachment articles are expected to be rejected by the Senate's Democratic majority.

The House GOP tried and failed last week to impeach Mayorkas on the same accusations.

In a statement after Tuesday's vote, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) blamed Mayorkas for "fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history."

Again, there is no border catastrophe. If there was a catastrophe, Republicans would have solved this problem under Donald J. Trump.

In a statement after Tuesday's vote, Speaker Mike Johnson blamed Mayorkas for "fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history."

"[He] deserves to be impeached, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to do so," Johnson said. "Next to a declaration of war, impeachment is arguably the most serious authority given to the House and we have treated this matter accordingly."

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson shot back in a statement that "without a shred of evidence or legitimate Constitutional grounds, and despite bipartisan opposition, House Republicans have falsely smeared a dedicated public servant who has spent more than 20 years enforcing our laws and serving our country."

"Secretary Mayorkas and the Department of Homeland Security will continue working every day to keep Americans safe," the spokesperson said.

The articles of impeachment against Mayorkas passed on Tuesday 214-213, with the majority made up of only Republicans and three Republicans voting with Democrats against impeachment.

Two Democrats representatives, Judy Chu and Lois Frankel, and Republican Reps. Brian Mast and Maria Salazar did not vote.

Reps. Ken Buck, Mike Gallagher and Tom McClintock -- the same three Republicans who opposed a previous attempt to impeachment Mayorkas last week -- kept their opposition.

Mayorkas will now face a trial in the Democratic-controlled Senate, where a two-thirds majority vote will be needed to convict and remove him from office, which is very unlikely.

The chamber's majority leader, Chuck Schumer, on Tuesday night labeled the impeachment a "sham," echoing how Democrats say Republicans have seized on Mayorkas to criticize President Joe Biden's border policies and spotlight immigration.

They couldn't get Biden so they'll settle for Mayorkas.

Biden also criticized Tuesday's vote in a statement of his own, saying in part, "History will not look kindly on House Republicans for their blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship."

The Senate is on a two-week recess, returning Feb. 26.

"The House impeachment managers will present the articles of impeachment to the Senate following the state work period. Senators will be sworn in as jurors in the trial the next day. Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray will preside," Schumer's office said.

Republicans accuse Mayorkas of "willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law" and "breach of public trust" amid a surge in unauthorized migrant crossings, according to the articles of impeachment against him.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green, a Tennessee Republican who led the impeachment investigation, has cited Mayorkas discussing "operational control" of the U.S. border, which Congress previously defined as zero illegal crossings.

As Mayorkas has pointed out, under this definition, no administration has achieved operational control. At a previous congressional hearing, Mayorkas said he believed there was a form of operational control and said he was not following the definition outlined in the dated statute.

Green, however, has contended Mayorkas' conduct is disqualifying regardless if it is criminal: "The founders designed impeachment not just to remove officials engaged in criminal behavior, but those guilty of such gross incompetence that their conduct had endangered their fellow Americans, betrayed the public trust and represented a neglect of duty."

Lauding the successful impeachment vote on Tuesday, Green said in a statement: "Our country has suffered from an unprecedented border crisis that has turned every state into a border state, causing untold suffering in communities across our country. With this vote, Congress has made clear that we will not tolerate such lawlessness."

Critics of the impeachment push, including Rep. Buck of Colorado, have said the articles don't show specific crimes or wrongdoing and instead reflect a political dispute with the Biden administration.

"This administration has removed, returned, or expelled more migrants in three years than the prior Administration did in four years," DHS said in a memo circulated ahead of Tuesday's vote.

The previous attempt to impeach Mayorkas surprisingly failed last week after the three Republicans voted against it along with all Democrats present.

That marked a major defeat for Speaker Johnson and other House GOP leaders.

"Last night was a setback, but democracy is messy," Johnson told reporters the next day on Capitol Hill, seeking to soften the losses. "We live in a time of divided government. We have a razor-thin margin here, and every vote counts."

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise then returned to Washington after blood cancer treatment to help his party's narrow majority in the second vote, on Tuesday.

Scalise's office said in a statement on Thursday that he "successfully completed his autologous stem cell treatment and has been medically cleared to resume travel."

The Louisiana Republican is in "complete remission," his office said then.

Biden is standing by Mayorkas.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Mayorkas maintained that the flood of migrants at the border has been a problem for years and that legislative action is needed to fix the system.

In December, there were 302,000 encounters along the southwest border -- the highest monthly total ever recorded.

Kristen Welker pressed Mayorkas on whether he bears the responsibility for the flood of migrants crossing the border -- something President Biden has also called a "crisis."

"It certainly is a crisis, and, well, we don't bear responsibility for a broken system and we're doing a tremendous amount within that broken system," Mayorkas said. "But, fundamentally, fundamentally, Congress is the only one who can fix that."

Last week, the Senate's vote to advance a bipartisan foreign aid bill with major new border provisions failed -- a blow to the negotiators who worked for months with Mayorkas to develop the border deal. Johnson and other notable GOP critics of the agreement argued it was insufficient.

"The system has not been fixed for 30 years," Mayorkas said on NBC. "A bipartisan group of senators have now presented us with the tools and resources we need ... and yet, Congress killed it before even reading it."

Tom Suozzi Back In!

Tom Suozzi returns to Congress.

The New York 3rd Congressional District goes back to the Democrats. The Associated Press called the special election for former Democratic congressman Tom Suozzi. He defeated Republican challenger, Mazi Pilip.

The seat once held by George Santos, the controversial Republican lawmaker who became a household name thanks to his lies and criminal activity was expelled by the House in October.

The New York special election was going to determine if the Democrats had the potential to win back Congress and the White House. President Joe Biden barely won the district in 2020 and Republicans are starting to take a hold of the Long Island communities.

But I guess, Pilip is too MAGA for New York.

Democrats’ takeover of a GOP-held swing seat at once narrows Republicans’ already slim majority in the House, and provides a much-needed jolt of momentum for the party in the White House.

“Getting a win in a tough special election in a district that was trending red is a big boost and shows Democrats continue to defy expectations,” said Eric Koch, a spokesperson for Battleground New York, a progressive coalition fighting to help Democrats win the five Empire State House seats that Biden carried in 2020.

Suozzi’s victory suggests that there is a playbook for Democrats in swing seats struggling to overcome Biden’s unpopularity and frustration over the influx of asylum-seekers and other migrants that has occurred on Biden’s watch.

At least they can do Cameo shoutouts!

Suozzi affirmed his commitment to border security in two TV ads, and in the final days of the campaign, slammed Pilip for opposing a bipartisan Senate deal to shore up the border after Trump warned that it would benefit Biden. What’s more, Suozzi and his allies were apparently able to get the latter point across without the benefit of advertising and direct mail, since they decided that there was too little time to make it a worthy topic for paid communication.

“Trump handed Suozzi a gift, while Suozzi was in a defensive crouch on immigration,” said Larry Levy, executive dean of the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra University. “He was able to flip the script a little bit and say: ‘See, this is an example of what you would get if you elected another Republican.’”

At the same time, a defeat for Suozzi would have been doubly devastating for Democrats who went all in for him. Suozzi and the groups backing him jointly spent $13.5 million on TV advertising — about $6 million than their Republican counterparts.

Battleground New York knocked on 100,000 doors for Suozzi in just over a month’s time, securing 10,000 commitments to vote for Suozzi.
