It's like the umpteenth time the entertainer said he'll give up something. The entertainer wants to quit the music business.

Either he's getting ready to face time in the iron college or his upcoming album is likely to bomb, the 24-year old entertainer once again saying that done with music business.

This year, the Los Angeles Supreme Court has revoked the entertainer's probation after he got into a confrontation with a woman over a fender bender. The entertainer tried to play the "I get back with ya" excuse when he showed off his Virginia license instead of his current residency license. He lives in Los Angeles. The neighbors are none to happy about his antics in the neighborhood.

So says the entertainer: The music business is too stressful. He's tired of being scrutinized for the incident.

He's tired of being the whipping boy for the celebrity news agitators.

So he goes to a place where he feels comfortable to sing his woes.

Like this the umpteenth time the entertainer would say he's "done" with something. For one thing, he once claimed he was "done with Twitter". But yet he's still on there. After all he's proud of his 12 million followers.

He said that he's over Rihanna. But after two years and the restraining order lifted, the entertainer has dated on and off with the Barbadian singer. He recently broke up with her again. He even tattooed a "battered" woman on his neck as a symbol of the entertainers chronicles with Rihanna.

He's promoting his album X which includes the single "Fine China". It's not buzzing.

They're popping in their iPods and smart phones rappers like Drake, Lil' Wayne, Future, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz.

Drake is a music rival to the entertainer and they've traded barbs (lyrics) and fists. He also traded some barbs and fists with Frank Ocean of Odd Future.

All the negative publicity from his celebrity feuds have become devastating to his career.

Junkyard Dog Kills Three In PA!

A Pennsylvania man went on a shooting spree in a rural township.

Rockne Newell, a Ross Township man who own a part of land that the council deemed a hazard went on a shooting spree killing three people before he was tackled and shot.

As he's recovering for his injuries, he face trial. If convicted of murder he will be heading to the gas chamber (death row). Assuring that his snap moment will be his last.

A gunman blasted shots through the wall of a Pennsylvania municipal building during a meeting on Monday and then barged into the meeting room and killed three people before being tackled by a local official and possibly another person and shot with his own gun, a witness said.

State police in Lehighton confirmed the three deaths and said the gunman, identified as 59-year-old Rockne Newell, had an ongoing dispute with township officials over the possible condemnation of his unkempt property. They said about 15 to 18 residents and town officials were at the meeting place, a short drive from Newell's property, when the gunfire erupted.

The shooting, which injured at least two other people, happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. during Ross Township's monthly meeting, Monroe County emergency management director Guy Miller said. The gunman, who appeared to be "shooting randomly," was captured and was treated at a hospital, he said.

Two people died at the scene, and a third person died after being flown to a hospital. Police confirmed that at least one of the dead was a township official but declined to give additional details. A fourth person, a woman, was in surgery with undisclosed injuries.

Investigators said Newell began shooting as he approached the building and continued as he walked into and through it. He then went back out to his vehicle in the parking lot, retrieved a handgun and went back into the building, firing more shots, police said.

Pocono Record reporter Chris Reber said he was at the township building when a man armed with a long gun with a scope shot through a wall into the meeting place, in a rural area of northeastern Pennsylvania about 85 miles north of Philadelphia.

"The thing that got my attention: plaster flying out, blowing out through the walls. Witnesses would later tell me they saw pictures exploding away from the walls," Reber said in a first-person account told to his editors Marta Gouger and Chris Mele. "I heard more than 10 shots."

He said he crawled out to a hallway, exited the building and took cover behind a vehicle.

"The gunman was this guy wearing a blue Hawaiian shirt," he said. "I saw him go back out to his car, a silver Impala, and get another gun.

"It wasn't real to me until I went back inside and saw people bleeding."

A local official at the meeting grabbed the shooter and subdued him, Reber said.

"(West End Open Space Commission executive director) Bernie Kozen bear-hugged the gunman and took him down," Reber said. "He shot the shooter with his own gun."

State police said they believed two people may have subdued the gunman, who was shot in one of his legs.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, who represents the state's 17th District, said he was "appalled at the atrocities that claimed the lives of innocent citizens in Ross Township." He said he had heard about what Kozen did to prevent more bloodshed.

"Mr. Kozen is a true hero tonight," Cartwright said in an emailed statement.

Kozen's wife, reached by telephone at their home Monday night, said he wasn't there and she was unsure when he'd be back.

Newell had been in a long-running dispute with township officials over the dilapidated condition of his property, state police Capt. Edward Hoke said. The township supervisors voted in February 2012 to take legal action against Newell for violating zoning and sewer regulations, according to meeting minutes posted online.

The ramshackle property includes an old camper in the front yard filled with wooden pallets, pieces of what appear to be old railroad ties and trash. A garage leans and appears close to collapse, and a propane tank sits inside an old dog house.

State police, who guarded the property early Tuesday, were awaiting a search warrant so they could enter it.

In June, the Pocono Record wrote a story about what it said was an 18-year fight between the township and Newell over his property.

Monroe County Court in August 2012 sided with the township and ordered Newell to vacate and never again occupy or use the property unless he had the permits to do so. The report said Newell had been living out of a car and in abandoned buildings since being ordered to vacate.

Newell told the newspaper he was unemployed for years after an injury from a crash and had nowhere else to go.

"They have no right to kick me off my property," he told the newspaper. "They call my property an eyesore. When I bought it, it was one of only three properties on the entire road that didn't have what they call junk."

Newell was in police custody after being treated at the hospital Monday night and couldn't be reached for comment, and there was no telephone number listed for his property.

Ross Township has about 5,500 residents. According to its website, the board of supervisors meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.

I mean Democrats caught in sex scandals are like honey to the conservative agitators and the comedians.

They've longed for another Bill Clinton moment so they could talk obsessively about the personal business of politicos, celebrities and athletes. Tiger Woods, Larry Craig, Linsdey Lohan, and Amanda Bynes are often targets of celebrity agitating because of their sex scandals.

That Guy Who Helped Obama Win ignores Congressman Mark Sanford (R-South Carolina) and Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) for their embarrassing moments. He allows Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, Fred Thompson, King Hippo on his program and these men have cheated on their wives. Even his idol Ronald Reagan was a known "player" in the days of Hollywood.

Usher's Son Accidental Drowning!

35 year old entertainer's young child was injured in a pool accident.

The entertainer and reality show host's son was injured in a pool accident in Atlanta, Georgia.

he child was playing in the pool with his aunt and saw a toy in the drain.  He dove down to get the toy and his arm got stuck in the drain.  The aunt immediately dove in to rescue him but couldn't get his hand out.  The maid then dove in and tried but was also unsuccessful.

The maid screamed for help.  Two men working in the house came out, dove in and freed the boy.  He was given CPR immediately and rushed to the hospital.  Usher arrived and drove in the ambulance with his son.

5-year-old Usher Raymond V is the oldest of Usher's two sons with ex-wife Tameka Raymond. We're told Usher and Tameka are currently at the hospital.

Doctors have been running a series of tests and doctors say he'll be ok.

This is the second accident to strike a child in Usher's family. Tameka's 11-year-old son Kile from a previous relationship passed away last year from injuries sustained during a jet ski accident.

The song was just the first of a 19-track album, the majority of which are hip-hop, to be released by the Partnership for a Healthier America, the anti-obesity nonprofit that launched in conjunction with Michelle Obama's Let's Move! anti-obesity campaign, and a New York-based group called Hip Hop Public Health.

The full album, which includes songs with names like "Veggie Luv," by Monifah and J Rome, "Hip Hop LEAN," by Artie Green, and "Give Myself a Try," by Ryan Beatty, will be released on Sept. 30.

Let's Move! Executive Director and White House assistant chef Sam Kass says the White House is fully behind the initiative to use hip-hop – and other genres of music – as a tool to get kids to live healthier lives.


"Cultural leaders and visionaries in our country can give these messages to kids in a way that's not preachy. Kids are going to be dancing and listening to the music," he says. "I think hip-hop in particular – so many kids love hip-hop. It's such a core part of our culture ...and particularly in the African-American community and the Latino community which is being disproportionately affected by those health issues."

African-American children are more than 50 percent more likely to be overweight or obese compared with white children, and Hispanic children are nearly 30 percent more likely, according to a 2008 study published in Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine

If all goes according to plan, some 10 of the 19 songs on the new album will be made into music videos, much like the hip-hop video in which Michelle Obama appeared. Those music videos will then be distributed to schools across the nation – starting with 40 schools in New York City, and then to schools in San Antonio, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. The hope is that teachers will use the videos during recess, physical education classes or even passing periods to encourage kids to get moving.

Though the White House has only recently gotten behind using hip-hop to fight obesity, the initiative has been almost a decade in the making. Back in 2005, an academic neurologist at Columbia University in New York, Olajide Williams, started thinking and experimenting with how hip-hop music could be used to encourage his stroke patients to live healthier lives. His efforts seemed to work and so Williams, who has done extensive research on community-based behavioral interventions, founded Hip Hop Public Health to educate African-Americans and Latinos through hip-hop about the diseases plaguing their communities.

It's the sort of feel good story these extremists can't stand.

It's why we're likely going to focus on hopefully having the Democrats regain the House of Representatives and retain the U.S. Senate.

We need to bring together a coalition of people to inspire Americans to vote. Voting helps remove problems.

If we could send the Republican Party a message this coming election, maybe they'll change their ways.

In no way I think conservatism is bad. Actually I think it's good only if the right people can say it in a fashion that people are inspired. But if you're clicking on links from an extremist or listening to assholes like King Hippo, you are in no way a supporter of conservatism. You're a supporter of the racist mentality that drives the ongoing rifts between race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, political and economic standings.

He's spending the Republican Party's money fast and yet still has a job! He didn't help Republicans win the presidential election. He didn't help Republicans win the U.S. Senate. One state went to a Republican. And yet still have a job.

When they picked former Maryland lieutenant governor Michael Steele as their party's leader. He was the first Black man to lead the national party. But that made the party uncomfortable. When the man blew money they were grumbling about that NIGGER.

Steele was a buffoon but managed to help the Republicans win back the House of Representatives and state/territorial governorships. He was abruptly fired after the elections.

Priebus and Steele have often clashed over the direction of the party. Steele now contributes to Obama News (MSNBC).

In 2013, Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State was getting grilled by Republicans over the Benghazi scandal.

The Huffington Post reports that this threat is another line of preemptive attacks aimed at Hillary Clinton.

Between the two letters, Priebus' concerns to NBC were more direct. The network "damaged" its credibility through the partisan MSNBC, he said. Priebus also complained that executives and employees of Comcast, NBC's parent company, have been "generous supporters" of Democrats and Clinton, and have raised money for them in the past.

A.J. Spiker, head of the Iowa GOP, said the state party would also refuse to partner with CNN and NBC for the Iowa primary debate, considered to be one of the more significant of the season, if the networks go forward with their Clinton programming. Nevada also joined Iowa, among other state party organizations, in signing on to the ultimatum from the national party.

The RNC has launched prior preemptive attacks on Clinton's nascent candidacy. In May, the group released an ad centered on Clinton and the State Department's response to the 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. compound in Benghazi.

Clinton, widely considered a frontrunner for the Democratic ticket in 2016, was also a major point of discussion at the RNC's spring meeting in April, at which Republicans reportedly began planning early for the next presidential race.

Ohio Man's Crime Spree Ends With A Gunshot!

Ohio fugitive caught at an outlet mall. He was shot after he tried to injure an officer with his vehicle.

He thought his vehicle could be used as a weapon. Somehow the Ohio police officer who shot him, saw that potential of a deadly encounter. A 22-year old man who eluded law enforcement after a high speed chase was caught at an outlet shopping mall in Ohio.

In my community of Dayton, Ohio, the local junk food media has talked about a man who got shot by Monroe, Ohio police after he got into a confrontation with them over an incident at the Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall. The man tried to take off in a vehicle and ended up injuring the officer. The officer had no choice but to stop him. He put the bullet in the man's right leg and eventually stopped him from driving off.

He's young, he's reckless and he's a repeat offender. He injured an officer and shoplifted out of a suburban mall in a community that's mostly voters who are White and conservative.

Jemarcus Levon Brown is wanted in five jurisdictions for felonies that wrap like a belt. One thing was his younger days when he pistol whipped a man in an armed robbery. He managed to beat a that wrap.

Then last week, he lead Huber Heights police and Ohio State Patrol on high speed chase on the interstate highways. He threw out the blow and crashed his car. He fled leaving his wife behind.

Years ago, he eluded Dayton police and struck one of their cruisers. He managed to avoid the bullet during that encounter.

In this encounter, he's being charged with assault on a police officer. A Class 3 felony.

If he is found guilty of that charge alone he could spent 20 years in the iron college. Forget the eluding police officer charges. That charge is a Class 5 felony. He'll be in the revolving door if he gets that thrown at him.

Barack Obama Is A Product Of A Growing Trend!

The commercial was played by professional actors. It give the perception of General Mills Cheerio's being a family friendly cereal. The mother was White and the father was Black. The child was mixed.

That drove up the White extremists to rally an outpouring of racial ignorance. They've slammed the commercial as another "political correctness" effort by liberals to the family being a bunch of NIGGER lovers.

The commercial may still be on YouTube but the comments were disabled after General Mills was contacted by news reporters.

This example of this stuff had proven that our nation still has a long way to go when it comes to equal rights for all.

The reason why I post this is the fact that President Barack Obama celebrates another birthday. A birthday surrounded by the unseemly negative perceptions of him, his wife First Lady Michelle Obama, and their children.

As Malia turns 16 next year, the media will eventually start focusing on her life and start publicly scrutinizing her day to day life. They already have choice words for her after it was revealed she and her friends went over Mexico and the island nation of The Bahamas for her summer break.

The junk food media hasn't given the president a pass on many things. He can't even take a vacation without the likes of That Guy Who Helped Obama Win (aka That Scumbag on Loserville) and others trying to paint the president as "NIGGER".

The president's birthday doesn't help his job approval with the American people.

His job approval stands at 43% as of right now. The cause of his job slide is because of the economy and the lackluster Congress.

He hasn't signed many laws since the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives. As they continued their ongoing quest to repeal Obamacare, the president has tried to get the public to rally for infrastructure repair and jobs.

That stuff is lost in the ongoing scandals by the NSA, the IRS, and the controversial verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.

The racial divide between Blacks and Whites has grown even wider, despite the nation electing the first Black president twice.

At best the president has at least 35% support from Whites, 83% from Blacks and 58% from Hispanics and Latinos.

The president can't get nothing done with the constant chatter from racial extremists in the conservative movement. Rick Santorum, Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Governor Chris Christie (R-New Jersey) and Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) are the focus of the junk food media's obsession with the next wave of losers in the Republican presidential picks. They see that Governor Martin O'Malley (D-Maryland), Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-New York) as the next wave of Democratic losers for 2016. They already putting Hillary Clinton in the spotlight, despite her failed attempts at running for president the first time. Reassuring that the field from both parties will be extremely weak post Barack Obama.

If Clinton, Santorum and Alan Keyes run again, they would be considered perennial candidates.

We haven't even gotten through the first year of the president's second term and we're already writing him off as they've always have because of their obsession with the next sacrificial goat for the next election.

Anyways, long story short, the president represents a changing trend. White women are dating Black men and they're having children as a faster pace. The pace of interracial marriages and children has surpassed in May 2012.

In 30 years, WHITE MEN WILL BE UNDER 50% OF THE NATION'S POPULATION.

This is probably why White male conservatives so fixated on closing the borders. This is probably why they rather see Blacks kill one another with guns, drugs and diseases. This probably why they want more relax gun laws. They want to keep the Black men away from their White daughters, wives and former girlfriends.

They want to cut social safety nets to starve off the Black and Hispanic community. They resent welfare, food stamps, farm aid, unemployment and disability assistance. They want control over us but never control over them.

Happy Birthday Barack Obama! Well wishes to you! Hopefully your job improves as the country tries to move forward. You can't do the work by yourself, so I guess it's not worth my time explaining to you why it's not going to be a good year in getting your goals accomplished with this lame Congress.

Bill Maher and Jay-Z Slam Loserville Over Trayvon Martin Comments!

Media mogul steps in Bill Maher's Real Time.

Mr. Carter steps in the special panel with comedian/libertarian activist Bill Maher for an analysis of Loserville's coverage of Trayvon Martin and the NYPD controversial stop-and-frisk tactics on Real Time.

The panel included former Democratic congressman Barney Frank, the openly gay politico who often said some controversial things to piss off the conservative agitators.

The media mogul is on Real Time promoting his album Manga Carta....Holy Grail (Roc-A-Fella/Roc Nation) and his Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film. Jay-Z also acknowledged his feud between Harry Bellanfonte and Robert DeNiro.

Jay-Z was singled out by Bill-O a few weeks back after the Loserville commentator had choice words for the Black community. As usual, Bill-O's word vomit included the blame of the "race hustlers" who embrace the hip-hop culture and social ills of single parent homes which lead to Black on Black crime.

As explained last month, conservatives have this fixation on Black crime in urban areas.

Since the controversial verdict granting an acquittal of Martin's shooter Trayvon Martin, the Black community has rallied against "STAND YOUR GROUND LAWS" and the "STOP AND FRISK" tactics of major police organizations.

Blacks and Latino men are often stopped more than White men by law enforcement agencies.

Black leaders including President Barack Obama have express concern about the distant relationship between law enforcement and the Black community. Of course, the president shared experiences as a victim of racial profiling when he was then a college student at Harvard.

In 2009, Henry "Skip" Gates was arrested at his own home by the Cambridge Police. The conservative media got livid when the president responded to the matter in which he felt the arresting officer acted "stupidly" in not determining Gates being a resident of the home.

In 2012, the president said that if Trayvon Martin was at age and had he had an opportunity to confront a threat, would he had the right to "STAND HIS GROUND" against George Zimmerman.

These two incidents have flared up deep concern about the racial divide with class, economic and political standings.

Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-New York) has offered choice words to the Tea Party Movement recently.

“It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked," Rangel said.

Because of this, Rangel said the Tea Party could be defeated using the same tactics employed against Jim Crow.

"It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break,” said Rangel.

Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-New York) calls the Tea Party movement a bunch of "WHITE CRACKERS" who set back progress in the Civil Rights Movement.

Rangel among with members of the Black Congressional Caucus have found out about the Buckeye Firearms Association's efforts to built a fundraiser around Zimmerman and the all of sudden concern of urban crime by conservatives.

I don't blame him.

Conservatives don't give two flying (well you know) about Chicago, Memphis, Cleveland, Baltimore, Atlanta, San Francisco, Stockton, New York, Detroit, New Orleans, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. They rather sit in their gated communities, travel to Walmart, and keep public transportation out of their neighborhoods. They want to have open carry gun laws in churches, hospitals, schools and bars. But in the urban areas, they want either to take their guns or let them kill each with unregistered guns.

Conservatives (whether they are Democrat or Republican) rather see us suffer in the recession. They don't want a Black, Latino, worshiping Muslims or gay families to have social safety nets. The decry welfare, food stamps, unemployment benefits, and disability as "gubmint handouts" and want to strip the safety net instead of plugging the holes of massive jobs lost because of globalization.

They give corporations a pass on unfair labor practices, unfair pay, unethical practices in management, deliberate work hour shifts for part time and full time workers and forced closures because of political dissent. All while collecting millions in campaign fundraising for their reelection campaigns.

They want to stop abortions from single women who make a personal choice. But they don't want a Black woman to have children and raising them as single parents. They don't give to flying (you know what) about the Black community. They rather see us either in the iron college. They rather see us die off because of diabetes, HIV/AIDS and drug addiction. They rather see us kill each other with firearms and drugs.

Of course, they're up in arms over their White suburban children taking the page and using it. They'll blame us for their White kids following Black entertainers Jay-Z , Lil' Wayne, Ludacris and Snoop Dogg. They also criticize Eminem as well, being the world's most successful White rapper/entertainer.

The sins of the past continue in present time.

We allow people on Loserville to gin up dog whistle stories about "Obama Phones", "New Black Panthers", "Race-Riots" and "Trayvon Martin".  They are given the freedom of speech to berate the Black community because of the passionate responses over this whole ordeal with the Zimmerman trial.

Over 90% of Black America believes that Zimmerman targeted Martin with antipathy towards him because of his race. They believe that Zimmerman got away with murder whereas if Martin was the killer, he would have been charged for the crime.

Jay-Z is a product of Brooklyn's crime days came from the drug dealing days to become a legendary rapper and entrepreneur. The media mogul can say he's a proud parent, proud husband and successful entertainer in the same breath.

Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman, (born December 10, 1985), known professionally as Raven-Symoné (pronounced /ˈreɪ.vən sɪˈmoʊn/, as though unaccented), or simply Raven, is an American actress and singer. “Raven has hidden being gay for a long time now,” a source told the National Enquirer. “But about a year ago, she was introduced by a friend to AzMarie, who is absolutely gorgeous. The two began seeing each other, and a few months ago, Raven finally got the nerve to ask her to move into her lavish Manhattan condo. When her family found out, they blew their stack and it’s created a gay scandal for Raven."

Despite the Enquirer story, Symone feels no obligation to respond with a definition of her sexual preferences.

"However that is my right as a HUMAN BEing whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I'm not harming anyone," Symone continued via the social networking site.

Why You Russian, Snowden? | Bradley Manning Will Go To Iron College!

American fugitive granted asylum in Russia. Edward Snowden leaked NSA and CIA information to anti-Obama critic Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian. Snowden has caused a rift between Russia and The United States on how they handle espionage.

Two controversial figures in the leaking of classified information get to find out their fates.

Private Bradley Manning, the Army specialist who leaked information to Wikileaks has been found guilty of stealing federal documents and wire fraud. He was charged with espionage. He was acquitted of the most serious charges of treason (via aiding and abetting an enemy).

Manning will probably suffer a long time in the potato brig (The Military Federal Prison at Leavenworth).

Edward Snowden spent a long time in a Russian airport terminal. Now it seems like a deal was reach to grant this NSA leaker temporary asylum in the Russian Federation.

Snowden's asylum has pissed off President Barack Obama. He and the Russian president Vladimir Putin aren't on the best of terms these days. The American relation strain started from the missile shield in Poland.

Also abusing arranged Russian children and wives isn't helpful either.

The worst thing in particular is the issue over Syria. Russia wants no part of the Syrian civil war and they're supplying the weapons for the government.

This is a complete snub in the face of Obama. There's suppose to be a meeting of the big leaders this coming month. Will the president show grace or throw his gauntlet?

Bradley Manning will be sentenced for leaking secrets.

Snowden is the country's most wanted man for leaking out classified information from the National Security Administration. The NSA wiretapping of phones has been the topic of the kookspiracy movement.

Some cheer this as a way of exposing the government. Others say this is treason and this guy should be sent to the iron college.

I don't have an opinion of it. I think of this as a sign of the times. Since September 11, 2001, the nation has grown more Islamophobic and paranoid about a possible terrorist threat.

Right now the United States State Department has ordered the shutdown of many embassies in Asia, Europe and Africa. They have the signs of a potential threat coming from the al Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula.

Edward Joseph Snowden (born June 21, 1983) is an American fugitive who leaked details of several top-secret United States and British government mass surveillance programs to the press.

Snowden is a former technical contractor for the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and a former employee of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Snowden leaked the information, primarily to Glenn Greenwald of Britain's The Guardian, in spring 2013 while employed as an "infrastructure analyst" at NSA contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. The Guardian in turn published a series of exposés in June–July 2013 and revealed programs such as the interception of US and European telephone metadata and the PRISM, XKeyscore, and Tempora Internet surveillance programs.

Snowden's disclosures are said to rank among the most significant NSA security breaches in United States history.

On June 14, 2013, United States federal prosecutors charged Snowden with espionage and theft of government property.

Snowden fled the United States prior to his first disclosures and as of August 1, 2013 was in Russia under temporary asylum.

Snowden's leaks have been a subject of great controversy. Some have referred to Snowden as a hero and a whistleblower, while others have described him as a traitor. Snowden has defended his leaks as an effort "to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them."

Government officials have condemned his actions as having harmed U.S. interests and its position in the War on Terror.

Meanwhile, the media disclosures have fueled debates in the United States and elsewhere over mass surveillance, government secrecy, and the balance between national security and information privacy in the Post-9/11 era.

Bradley Edward Manning (born December 17, 1987) is a United States Army soldier who was arrested in May 2010 in Iraq on suspicion of having passed classified material to the website WikiLeaks. He was ultimately charged with 22 offenses, including communicating national defense information to an unauthorized source and aiding the enemy.

He was convicted in July 2013 of most of the charges, including several violations of the Espionage Act, but was acquitted of aiding the enemy, the most serious charge.

Assigned to an army unit based near Baghdad, Manning had access to databases used by the United States government to transmit classified information. He was arrested after Adrian Lamo, a computer hacker, told the FBI that Manning had confided during online chats that he had downloaded material from these databases and passed it to WikiLeaks.

The material included videos of the July 12, 2007 Baghdad airstrike and the 2009 Granai airstrike in Afghanistan; 250,000 United States diplomatic cables; and 500,000 army reports that came to be known as the Iraq War logs and Afghan War logs. It was the largest set of restricted documents ever leaked to the public. Much of it was published by WikiLeaks or its media partners between April and November 2010.

Manning was held from July 2010 at the Marine Corps Brig, Quantico, Virginia, under Prevention of Injury status, which entailed de facto solitary confinement and other restrictions that caused international concern. In April 2011 he was transferred to Fort Leavenworth, where he could interact with other detainees.

He pleaded guilty in February 2013 to 10 of the 22 charges.

The trial on the remaining charges began on June 3, 2013, and on July 30 he was convicted of 17 of the original charges and amended versions of four others. The trial moved to the sentencing phase on July 31.

Reaction to Manning's arrest and disclosures was mixed. Denver Nicks, one of his biographers, writes that the leaked material, particularly the diplomatic cables, was widely seen as a catalyst for the Arab Spring that began in December 2010, and Manning was viewed as a 21st-century Tiananmen Square Tank Man by some and as an embittered traitor by others.

Several commentators focused on why an apparently very unhappy Army private had access to classified material, and why security measures did not prevent his unauthorized downloading.
