NAACP Leader Rachel Dolezal Fires Herself Out The Cannon!

Pressure mounts as embattled regional president calls it quits.

Rachel Dolezal is under fire for lying about her race. The NAACP is cautiously supporting her despite cries for her to resign. Dolezal is the current president of the western region's NAACP.

The western NAACP based in Spokane, Washington.

The issue that has her in jeopardy is the fact that she's a White woman and for nearly a decade she pretended to be a Black woman.

Lying about your race is crime in the court of public opinion. It's a crime when you do lie on a government form. What she done when she was appointed a liaison for Spokane's civil rights division. She checked herself as Black.

For the last few years, some have questioned her biography. She created controversy by posing with a Black man who she claimed as her father.

Her biological parents and siblings had enough. They want to bring her back to earth. Her mother and father came out swinging. Dolezal is feuding with her family. The family decided to play their "trump" card being the "race" card.

I guess this bombshell will not end with corruption at the oldest civil rights group.

Dolezal was going to organize a press conference to address the controversy. She postpone the press conference. Instead she decides on calling it quits.

The NAACP again told the junk food media, that it's not a solely Black organization. Anyone who believes in equal rights for all Americans is welcomed to join.
Art imitates life. Rachel Dolezal resigns from the NAACP as their president after the junk food media discovered she lied Black to get in.
But some Black people believe that Dolezal's white privilege has maintained this farce and she should be fired out the cannon.

Kind of like the Donald Sterling controversy. The NAACP looked the other way when it accepted that huge check from the former Los Angeles Clippers owner.

Sterling got recorded saying that Blacks are disgusting and he won't want them in the presence of his NBA team and games.

Dolezal will continue to be a reminder to conservatives on how the NAACP has done nothing for the Black community and they see them as racial agitators. They will now use Rachel Dolezal as their proof.

And no amount of good will save her. For some in the Black community, they think it was about time to revoke her "ghetto pass".

Your thoughts on this controversy are welcomed. Me and S. Baldwin will continue to follow this controversy.

Lauren Hill Passed Away!

Lauren Hill, the Mount St. Joseph basketball player diagnosis with cancer passed away.

The basketball icon of Mount St. Joseph University Lauren Hill passed away yesterday. Many people are hoping that her legacy will help others achieve goals. She wanted to live her life doing something she told pride in doing.

Basketball.

She came to fame when she told the public she was diagnosis with terminal brain cancer.

She had Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma after she turned 18 in October 2013.

"To put my foot down on the floor and hear the roar of the crowd -- I just love it so much. I love basketball," Hill said after the game, where over 10,000 people attended, according to the Associated Press.

The away game was originally scheduled for later in the month, but the NCAA allowed it to be moved up due to Hill's condition. It was also held at Xavier University to accommodate the large, sold out crowd.

She had an opportunity to play a few basketball games and even graduated with high honors.

We here at Journal de Reyna send our condolences to the family of Lauren Hill.

Taraji P Henson: Damn My Bad! My Son Didn't Get Razzed By The Cops! Racial Profiling Still An Issue, Though!

Actress Taraji P Henson had to own up to the Glendale Police after she accused them of rousing her son.

Taraji P Henson is on fire. Her breakout role as Cookie Lyon in the hit series Empire has made her a household name.

Henson's rise to fame came from the her feature role in Hustle & Flow, with fellow actor Terrance Howard. They both are the stars of the Lee Daniels' musical drama.

Henson is also a mother. Her son is always a top priority. Henson praises her son regardless.

But something came into the news this past week and it's sparked some major controversy.

Henson claimed that her 20 year old son (Marcel Johnson) had been racially profiled by police and that his car had been illegally searched during a traffic stop on October 18, 2014 in Glendale, California.

In the beginning, Henson felt the law was harassing her son for being Black. Her son dropped out of the University of Southern California to attend Howard in her hometown of Washington, DC.

Henson told the junk food media, that who could you trust in this world, if a young Black man minding his business is harassed by the police.

Well the folks over at the Los Angeles Times wanted to obtain proof of this incident. They got some proof and then some.

A video obtained by the Times showed that Johnson had driven through a lighted crosswalk while a pedestrian was crossing, that he had given verbal consent to search his vehicle, that he had admitted to smoking marijuana two hours before going behind the wheel, and that hash oil, marijuana, and a knife were found inside his car.

Henson immediately suspended her social media profiles. She went on to apologize for overreacting and for making unsubstantiated claims, Henson said in an Instagram message that, "A mother's job is not easy and neither is a police officer's. I would like to publicly apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department."

Henson's apology was heartfelt. But unfortunately to the racist right, they will continue to denounce the BlackLivesMatter movement. They will now attack her for sparking "racial outrage" over nothing.

The racist right will place her in the box where they often hold President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Rev. Perm and Cut His Nut Off Jackson in.

The Drudge Report Is A White Extremist's Best Friend!

Lee Daniels' critically acclaimed drama Empire got worked over by the agitator of racial ignorance.

The Craigslist of right wing agitation posted tonight about the fate of Lee Daniels' hip-hop drama Empire getting the greenlight on Fox. The hip-hop drama featuring Oscar nominated actor Terrence Howard and Taraj P. Henson managed to surprise the executives. The series has managed to survive two and its going to finish the season with eight episodes with second season pending.

Fox struggled like ABC and NBC when it comes to finding the show. They often put on series that are critically acclaimed but struggle when it put against NCIS, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, and Two Broke Girls.
TVbythenumbers can determine where the cancellation bear may ruin a picnic.
Now here's what's on the Entertainment Weekly comment section. As usual the trolls of conservative Wackadoodle World have inserted the usual word vomit of White rights, Obama this, and liberal that!

Get a vomit bag cause it's going to be another dose of ignorance in the CAPITALS.

By the way, not all conservatives act like this. But a majority of them do! And it's reflective of the Republican Party and its allies. Say for example Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) and his admission to attending a meeting sponsored by former Klan leader David Duke.

It's reflective of how these people think!

Oscars So White!

Selma poster.jpg
Ava DuVernay directed biopic Selma. It features David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King. It is an account of the march from Selma to Montgomery during the 1965 Civil Rights protest.

A huge controversy has ensued. The Academy Awards nominations came out and it became a literally shutout for minority actors, directors, women and movies.

The nominations were mostly White male and older celebrities. Not many of the nominees are Black, Asian, Hispanic or women of color.

For the third time since 1995, the 20 Academy Award acting nominations were only for white actors and actresses. The first was in 1998 and second was in 2011.

David Sims of The Atlantic states "the surprising coolness towards Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic Selma—nominated for Best Picture but missing in the Director, Actor, and Original Screenplay categories—with the fact that all 20 acting nominees this year are white, the first time such a thing has happened since the Oscars honoring the films of 1995."

Selma is directed by Ava DuVernay, herself an African-American female.

The Guardian columnist Bidisha also notes the overwhelmingly white nominee list while also discussing the fact that "every nominated best director, screenwriter, screenplay adapter and original score composer is a white man," which suggests that there is an inherent lack of female representation in the Oscars this year beyond the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.

There was also some negative reaction from critics due to The Lego Movie not receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.
Similar reaction also came from singer Lorde not being nominated for Best Original Song for "Yellow Flicker Beat" from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

There was also criticism from James Gunn regarding the fact that The Lego Movie was snubbed and Jake Gyllenhaal was not nominated for his performance in Nightcrawler while Dan Gilroy has received a nomination.

Foxcatcher's lack of a Best Picture nomination garnered some criticism as well as despite the director Bennett Miller, screenwriters E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman, and actors Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo all receiving nominations, the film itself did not.

On the bright side, John Legend and Common were nominated for an Oscar.

The famed R&B singer and rapper were nominated for Best Song for the movie Selma. Glory" from Selma – Music and Lyric by John Legend and Common: performed by John Legend and Common.

Your thoughts on the matter?

Do you believe that the Motion Picture Industry snub of non-White performers was a good idea?

Andraé Crouch Passed Away!

The godfather of urban gospel passed away.

On Friday, the urban gospel world lost a legendary singer and talent. Andrae Crouch passed away and there's an outpouring of sympathy from his family and many friends. Of course, we here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Andraé Crouch.

Crouch was considered the godfather of modern day urban gospel.

Crouch was known for his compositions "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power", "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" and "Soon and Very Soon". In secular music, he was known for his collaborative work during the 1980s with Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Quincy Jones as well as conducting choirs that sang on the Michael Jackson hit "Man in the Mirror" and Madonna's "Like a Prayer".

Crouch was noted for his talent of incorporating contemporary secular music styles into the gospel music he grew up with. His efforts in this area were what helped in paving the way for early American contemporary Christian music during the 1960s and 1970s.

Crouch's original music arrangements were heard in the films The Color Purple and Disney's The Lion King, as well as the NBC television series Amen. Awards received by him include seven Grammy Awards, being inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998, and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004.

Crouch was hospitalized in early December 2014 for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. As a result, his December tour was postponed.

He was hospitalized again on January 3, 2015 in Los Angeles, as the result of a heart attack. Crouch died five days later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center on January 8, 2015, at the age of 72.

On the same day, his sister, Sandra, released the following statement: "Today my twin brother, womb-mate and best friend went home to be with the Lord. Please keep me, my family and our church family in your prayers. I tried to keep him here but God loved him best."

Following Crouch's death, Christian recording artist Michael W. Smith told Billboard Magazine, "...I'll never forget hearing Andraé for the first time. It was like someone had opened a whole new world of possibilities for me musically. I don't think there is anyone who inspired me more, growing up, than Andraé Crouch. The depth of his influence on Christian music is incalculable. We all owe him so much and I'll forever be grateful for the times we got to work together."

The Fox Network green lights hip-hop drama series called EMPIRE and it features Terrance Howard and Taraji P. Henson. With music production from Timbaland, the network executives assure this may be a success.

Raven-Symoné: I'm American And Proud!

Younger Raven-Symoné.

Last year the actress made the news when she made her "outing".

Now the entertainer Raven-Symoné wants to tell the world that she identifies herself as American first, everything else last.

That got the junk food media's attention.

When talking the queen of daytime Oprah Winfrey, the actress addressed her heritage and her possible roots tracing back to the earlier times.

"I'm tired of being labeled, I'm an American. I'm not an African-American; I'm an American."

Also Oprah asked the actress about her dating life. Well of course, she admitted that she's dating a woman but doesn't want to be labeled a "lesbian".

"I don't want to be labeled gay, I want to be a human who loves humans."

Some didn't take kind to the words

And of course the entertainer slams her critics. She said that "Of course, she's Black". She doesn't want the world to see her as this "BLACK" entertainer who happens to be a "LESBIAN".

A mild controversy for the former Disney star.

What's your opinion on this?

Kenan Thompson Leaving SNL!

Famed comedian is set to exit SNL.

Famed comedian Kenan Thompson could be heading for the exit at 30 Rock.

The comedian who often did impressions of Rev. Perm, Steve Harvey, Oprah, Miss Cleo, and numerous other celebrities will be coming back for the 40th season of the famed Saturday Night Live. However this will probably be his last season on the famed sketch comedy.

In his teenage years, he was an original cast member of Nickelodeon's sketch comedy series All That. Thompson is also known for his roles in the sitcom Kenan & Kel and the films Good Burger and Fat Albert. In his early career he often collaborated with fellow comedian and All That cast member Kel Mitchell. He ranked at #88 on VH1's 100 Greatest Teen Stars.

Thompson was a featured player until 2005 (spanning the 29th and 30th seasons), and was promoted to repertory player at the beginning of season 31 (the 2005-2006 season).
Thompson acting like Raven-Symone.
Thompson has been a cast member on SNL for eleven seasons, breaking the record for the longest serving African-American cast member previously held by Tim Meadows, who stayed on the show for ten seasons. Thompson is now the senior cast member on the show, after Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers left the show. He is also the third-oldest current cast member after Michael Patrick O'Brien (born 1976) and Bobby Moynihan (born 1977).

Thompson also holds the record for most celebrity impressions performed on the show, performing 108, beating Darrell Hammond's previous record of 107.

TMZ wrote that Thompson was set to leave the show before Season 41, to focus on other projects.

Lorne Michaels urged Thompson to stay for the remaining season.

Jay Pharaoh and Thompson both criticized NBC and Michaels for the show lacking Black female comedians.

SNL hired comedienne Sasheer Zamata to calm the criticism. She comes after a six year hiatus since the departure of Maya Rudolph.

Michael Che is leaving The Daily Show after being a correspondent for less than year to take over as head anchor for Weekend Update.

Famed announcer Don Pardo died last month before the taping of new episodes. We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Don Pardo.

New York Times Critic Calls Shonda Rhimes An "Angry Black Woman!"

Kerry Washington with Shonda Rhimes. Washington is the star of ABC's hit drama Scandal. Rhimes created Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Private Practice and co-signed the production of Peter Nowalk's How To Get Away With Murder.

ABC is hanging on to Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and the newest fall show How To Get Away With Murder. The creator of the shows, entertainer Shonda Rhimes is a well paid success.

There's a controversy building up in the junk food media. It involves the old perception of powerful, intriguing and forceful women. According to the racist right, any Black woman in power is a problem to them.

Alessandra Stanley a television critic for the New York Times wrote that the roles featuring Black actresses in the staring roles the results, perceived as "angry Black women" leads.

Rhimes is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. Rhimes is best known as the creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner of the medical drama television series Grey's Anatomy, its spin-off Private Practice and political thriller series Scandal. In May 2007, Rhimes was named one of TIME magazine's 100 people who help shape the world.

Rhimes was an executive producer for the medical drama series Off the Map which aired on ABC from January 12, 2011 to April 6, 2011. Rhimes' new show for ABC is the legal series How to Get Away with Murder, which will debut in the 2014-15 season.

Rhines went to the social networks to put the brakes on the criticism.

Does the New York Times understand who they're talking about?

This woman is probably one of the most powerful figures in the entertainment industry.

To be downgraded to being this angry Black woman is not only offensive to her works, but another reason to why the junk food media will never (and I mean never understand) the Black community.

Meshach Taylor Passes Away!

Ever watched the CBS sitcom Designing Women?

Meshach Taylor was one of the standout characters on the show.

He is best known for his Emmy-nominated turn as Anthony Bouvier on the CBS hit sitcom Designing Women (1986-1993), and for his portrayal of Hollywood Montrose, a flamboyant window dresser in the box office hit and cult classic romantic comedy film Mannequin.

He played Sheldon Baylor on the CBS sitcom Dave's World (1993-1997), and appeared as Tony on the short-lived NBC sitcom Buffalo Bill opposite Dabney Coleman.

Taylor was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of a college professor and a sociology professor.[2] He graduated from Florida A&M University in 1993. He married Bianca Ferguson in 1983 and has four children, daughters, Tamar Taylor, Esme Taylor, Yasmine Taylor, and son Tariq Taylor, and four grandchildren.

CNN reports that Taylor had fought a terminal illness and faded markedly in recent days. His wife, children, grandchildren and mother surrounded him as he passed away, Dede Binder said.

"It is with love and gratitude that we sorrowfully announce that our darling, amazingly brilliant and dynamic, Meshach, the incredible father, husband, son and friend has begun his grand transition," the family said in a statement.
Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, Meshach Taylor, Jean Smart and Delta Burke.
Taylor made his screen debut in the 1978 movie "Damien: Omen II." He has appeared regularly in television dramas since, including the series "In the Heat of the Night," "Hannah Montana," and "All of Us," according to his profile on the International Movie Database.

Most recently, he appeared in two episodes of Criminal Minds. The last one ran in January this year.
During the run of "Designing Women," Taylor's co-star Dixie Carter described him as "a good man who is confident and strong. He's absolutely grounded," according to a profile in People.

"The eldest of three children of two former college professors, Taylor, a precocious child, first learned acting technique as a survival skill. 'The kids called me the Professor, and I got beat up a lot,' he says. 'So I dummied up until I got into the 11th grade,'" the profile read.

"Even when he didn't have any money, he always had style. He was on the cutting edge of men's colognes, and he was always buying yachting magazines and GQ," actor Joe Mantegna told the magazine.

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Meshach Taylor.

Frank Taaffe: Oprah And Obama Are Two Stupid A** N****rs!

White extremist is a defender of George Zimmerman. He appeared on HLN multiple times saying some pretty racist and borderline ignorant things about the Black community.

Looks like George Zimmerman's best friends are making the news once again. For the umpteenth time, this right wing bigot named Frank Taaffe emerges again to make his case against the Black community.

The unofficial spokesperson of George Zimmerman has his own radio program on some White extremist network. I guess he's got an opinion about everything.

So I am guessing he'll have White nationalist radio host James Edwards, Asshat Colin Flaherty and Jesse Lee Peterson (The Other Jesse) on his program sooner or later.

The Raw Story reports that Political Research Associates, posted audio on Tuesday from an October 2013 segment of Taaffe’s show, “Standing Our Ground,” which aired on the White Voice Network. The network reportedly devotes itself to “media, news, and information for White people against White genocide.”

In the segment, Taaffe and co-host Joe Adams debate whether media mogul Oprah Winfrey can be considered a “n**ger.”

“To me she wouldn’t,” said Adams, who wrote a book called the “Save White People Handbook.”

“I think she is,” Taaffe responded, explaining that he thought the slur applied to Winfrey because “she keeps spewing out all that bullsh*t. She goes over to Switzerland and she says that the lady didn’t want to share a handbag because she thought that she couldn’t afford it, and she keeps just doing what she’s doing.”

Taaffe then criticized her for promoting “her boy,” President Barack Obama.

“You know, it’s birds of a feather, they flock together and stick together, and to me, she’s a n**ger,” Taaffe insisted. “Oprah Winfrey’s a n**ger. She’s a n**ger.”
One thing about Oprah and the Obamas, they're rich and famous. Frank Taaffe is not.
Adams then expressed slight disagreement, saying that while Winfrey “has worked hard, [and is] doing the right thing by her community,” society at large should still use the slur when referring to her. He also claimed that when white people raise issues related to race, “they get called racist, and that is the white equivalent of the n**ger word for me.”

Taaffe, who was Zimmerman’s neighbor around the time Zimmerman was accused of second-degree murder for killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, became an outspoken defender of Zimmerman’s in appearances on CNN and other networks. He suggested Martin fit the “ID” of prior burglars in their neighborhood and dismissed Zimmerman’s penchant for collecting firearms by saying, “Boys will have their toys.”

Mother Jones reported that Taaffe also used his platform to defend Michael Dunn, the 47-year-old man who was found not guilty of murder charges for killing another Black teen, Jordan Davis. But following criticism directed toward CNN and sister network HLN, Taaffe announced future appearances on HLN had been canceled.

This is how George Zimmerman, Frank Taaffe, Michael Dunn thinks of Black people.

12 Years A Slave Has Nine Oscar Nominations!

Again, Lee Daniels' The Butler was pushed to the sidelines. The critically acclaimed movie wasn't mentioned at the 86th Academy Awards. It was snubbed and placing the media mogul Oprah Winfrey at the sidelines.

The movie is a 2013 American historical fiction drama film directed by Lee Daniels and written by Danny Strong. Loosely based on the real life of Eugene Allen, the film stars Forest Whitaker as Cecil Gaines, an African-American who eyewitnesses notable events of the 20th century during his 34-year tenure serving as a White House butler.

It was the last film produced by Laura Ziskin, who died in 2011.

The conservatives are so thrilled that Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda and rapper/producer David Banner are snubbed by the Academy Awards.

That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall linked Roger Friedman's Showbiz 411 for the story.

Shock: Oprah, Tom Hanks, Robert Redford were all shut out of this year’s Oscars.

The nine Best Picture nominees are American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Nebraska, Philomena, 12 Years a Slave, and Wolf of Wall Street. Only nine, not 10, films received nominations.

Also snubbed: Emma Thompson and “Saving Mr. Banks” are totally out.

Biggest surprise: Of all Harvey Weinstein’s possible entries, “Philomena” turned out to be his dark horse winner. “August Osage County” pulled two acting noms. And The Weinstein Company has two documentary nomineees.

Completely stopped and I’m not surprised: Robert Redford and “All is Lost.” Sadly I knew this. Roadside Attractions should be called Roadkill. What a mess. Redford was the best actor of the year.

Big winners: Paramount, Warner Bros., Sony played the game beautifully. A big studio turnaround.

But however, 12 Years A Slave, Barkhad Abdi of Captain Phillips portraying Somali pirate Abduwali Muse, and the single Happy from Pharrell Williams are nominated for the Oscars.
Barkhad Abdi
The 86th Academy Awards is an upcoming event during which the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) will present its annual Academy Awards to honor the best films of 2013 in the United States. The ceremony is scheduled for March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California.

This will be a week later than normal so as not to interfere with the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The ceremony is to be televised in the United States by ABC and will be hosted by comedienne Ellen DeGeneres for the second time. She previously hosted the 79th ceremony in 2007.
Pharrell Williams, famed producer/rapper/rocker is nominated for an Oscar.
On September 5, 2013, The Academy announced the three nominees that will be honored with an Academy Honorary Award: the actress Angela Lansbury, the actor and producer Steve Martin, and the costume designer Piero Tosi. Angelina Jolie will be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her charity work.

For the Academy Award for Best Picture, 289 films are eligible.

In an official press release, It was announced the 86th Academy Awards will honor big-screen real-life heroes, super heroes, popular heroes and animated heroes, both past and present, as well as the bold filmmakers who bring them to life.

Robin Roberts Comes Out Of The Newsroom!

Robin Roberts reveals she's gay. Roberts was the first anchor to interview President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama when they announced they support gay marriage.

Last year, Robin Roberts had the opportunity to interview the president on his evolution of gay marriage. He actually made it clear that he's now in favor of gay marriage. He done so in front of a good friend.

She remembers getting the "chills" when she heard the president speak so favorably about gay marriage.

Robin Roberts is a personal friend of the Obamas.

The ABC News reporter and host of Good Morning America came out this week.

Unlike the Jenna Wolfe and Raven-Symone's coming out parties, I am not too shocked about this revelation.

The Obamas got the opportunity to help motivate Roberts to publicly announce her relationship with another woman.

Add another Black entertainer in the media to come out as being gay or bisexual.

Roberts disclosed the relationship in a Facebook post in which she reflected on the past year. On Dec. 29, 2012, the news anchor celebrated 100 days post bone marrow transplant during her battle with myelodysplastic syndrome.

"At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude," Roberts wrote. "I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life. I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together."

Amber Laign is a licensed massage therapist from the San Francisco Bay Area, according to People magazine. She and Roberts met through mutual friends and have been together for 10 years.

"I am grateful for the many prayers and well wishes for my recovery. I return every one of them to you 100 fold," Roberts continued. "On this last Sunday of 2013 I encourage you to reflect on what you are grateful for too."

CNN's Brian Stelter noted that this is the first time Roberts has spoken publicly about her sexual orientation.

The 53-year-old follows in the footsteps of other famous figures who have chosen to discuss their personal lives without formally choosing a title or label.

Earlier this month, Olympic diver Tom Daley came out in a YouTube video, revealing he is in a relationship with a man. Last year, Frank Ocean came out in a blog post. He opened up about a same-sex relationship he had when he was 19 years old.

UPDATE: ABC News issued the following statement regarding Roberts' Facebook post (via BuzzFeed):

"We love Robin and Amber, who we have all known for a long time. We were so touched by Robin’s Facebook message today and so thankful for all the loving support she has in her life."

Also you can mark Utah as one of the newest states that allow gay marriage. Yeah, the conservative state of Utah had a federal repeal of their state law banning gay marriage.

Again, "US BLACK FOLK" have went through interracial marriage. And now we've evolved through gay marriage. It used to bother some Black people seeing gay people. It still does but not as much as it used to be. We're seeing progress!

Well wishes to Robin Roberts and her partner Amber Laign.

The Golden Globes Snubs The Butler!

Lee Daniels' The Butler was critically acclaimed and yet not nominated for a Golden Globe.

It's a blockbuster movie. And it managed to get the Oscar buzz. And yet at the Golden Globes announcement ceremony, it was another controversial issue.

The Butler by Lee Daniels was bucked by other movies. The Golden Globes just snubbed Oprah Winfrey for her outstanding performance in”The Butler.” In fact, they snubbed the entire movie.

Yeah, the racist right will have a field day with this one. After all they happy to see the media mogul suffer in the face of public opinion. After all she said that the amount of disrespect towards her friend President Barack Obama mounts to racism. The racist right doesn't like being called out for being who they are.

After all they believe that calling the first Black president, a "MUSLIM", "TERRORIST", "COMMUNIST", "SOCIALIST", "ANTI-AMERICAN", "HALFRICAN" is fair game.

Oprah Winfrey got what's coming to her says those on the racist right.

Anyway, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) reports a day after Lee Daniels' The Butler scored three SAG Awards nominations, the movie was completely shut out of the Golden Globes categories.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association snubbed not only the film itself in the best motion picture, drama, category, but also supporting actress Oprah Winfrey and star Forest Whitaker, both of whom had been recognized a day earlier by SAG with nominations.

The films that will vie for best motion picture, drama, are 12 Years a Slave,Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena and Rush.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's awards analyst Scott Feinberg, Winfrey seemingly was snubbed when a slot went instead to Blue Jasmine's Sally Hawkins, who was not among those expected to be nominated. The other actresses nominated for supporting roles by the Globes include Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), Julia Roberts (August: Osage County), Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave) and June Squibb (Nebraska).

12 Years A Slave was a top biller for nominations.

The Butler -- which stars Whitaker as a White House butler who served through several administrations and features Winfrey as his wife -- scored a total of three SAG Awards nominations on Wednesday. In addition to Winfrey and Whitaker, the film also earned best ensemble recognition for the cast (SAG's equivalent of best picture).

The movie has earned nearly $116 million at the box office since its Aug. 16 release.

Conservative Outrage Over Obama Handshake With Raul Castro!

The so-called patriots of America are pissed that President Barack Obama is shaking hands with Cuban leader Raul Castro. The junk food media knew it was going to be bait for the racist right.

They knew anything the president does, it will attract some form of controversy with these conservative assholes here stateside.

At the Nelson Mandela funeral, President Barack Obama accompanied by former presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter were showing solidarity for the world's greatest leader.

The presidents along with First Lady Michelle Obama, former first ladies Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton (former Secretary of State) were at the funeral.

It was a great funeral (and celebration).

Stateside, conservatives are outrage pimping over this.

Matt Drudge (aka That Guy Who Throws Shit On The Wall), Rush Limbaugh (aka King Hippo), Sean Hannity (aka That Guy Who Helped Obama Win) and other assholes are bitching about it. Certainly the racist right will have something to say about it (see below).

The handshake between Obama and the brother who took over the duties of longtime Cuban dictator Fidel Castro was seen by millions around the world on live television and was confirmed by a senior US official to AFP.
U.S. presidents Obama (current), Bush, Clinton and Carter attend the memorial service for Nelson Mandela.
The Cuban government hailed it as a hopeful sign, writing on its website: "May this... be the beginning of the end of the US aggressions?"

But it remained unclear whether it would presage a meaningful thaw in relations across the shark-infested waters off Cuba.

It comes as Obama seeks to live up to his campaign promise made in 2007 to reach out directly to US enemies as president -- and after he spoke by phone to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in September.

Obama is likely to face some domestic backlash from his gesture, as Cuba is a fiercely divisive issue in US politics.

Vehemently anti-Castro Cuban-Americans make up a sizable portion of voters and political donors in Florida, a battleground state where US presidential elections can be won or lost.

Obama's clear jab at states like Cuba, which claim kinship with Mandela but do not follow the example of a man who forgave his enemies and built a pluralistic state, may have been intended to insulate him from some domestic criticism.

"There are too many leaders who claim solidarity with Madiba's struggle for freedom, but do not tolerate dissent from their own people," Obama said, stabbing his finger in the air in the rain-sodden stadium hosting the event.

As a presidential candidate, Obama was pilloried as naive and dangerous by rivals from both parties for suggesting that as president he would be willing to talk to foes without preconditions.

As he ran for reelection, Obama's success in tracking down and killing Osama bin Laden and a fearsome drone war largely insulated him from allegations of weakness in foreign and security policy.

But the interim nuclear deal between US and world powers reached last month and his decision to call off 11th-hour military strikes on Syria over the use of chemical weapons have revived opposition attacks over his foreign policy spine.

It was unclear whether Tuesday's gesture would significantly thaw relations. In 2000, then president Bill Clinton shook the hand of Fidel Castro at the UN General Assembly in New York.

There was no picture of the moment and the White House initially denied it had occurred.

Havana and Washington have not had diplomatic relations since 1961, two years after Fidel Castro came to power in the Cuban revolution.

Tensions have eased since Obama took office, with both countries reaching a series of agreements seen as confidence-building measures including cooperation on air and maritime rescue and migration issues.

In 2011 Obama eased restrictions on visas, remittances and travel.

The move was designed to expand religious and educational travel, allow any airport to offer charter flights to the country and restore cultural initiatives suspended by the previous Bush administration.

Talks are under way to resume a direct postal service between the two countries.

From the story: "The United States maintains a five-decade-old embargo against the communist island nation, which Havana says has cost the economy $1.1 trillion."

This is to prepare the ground for Cuba's demand of "reparations" from the US for damage to its economy, much the way that the third world is trying to pick the pockets of the west for damage due to climate change (see: Philippines representative crying a couple of weeks ago at UN climate talks).

Question: Where and to whom do we present the bill for Polio vaccine, GPS and communications satellites, Penicillin, highly productive and more nutritious genetically modified rice strains, the internet, aviation, ....?

It was not "Obama's abilities" that allowed bin Laden to be tracked down and killed. It was the capabilities of America's intelligence agencies and military. Osama bin Laden's location was known for over a year and the military went to Obama three times trying to get permission to take out bin Laden before he finally relented and gave permission. Even then all of his advisors including the VP Joe Biden advised against it. It was only when it was pointed out to Obama that if the info leaked that he knew the location of Osama and did nothing about it that it would have a "negative impact" on his reelection that 'he' pulled the Trigger.

Then, the scene faded from color to black and white as the camera swung 180 degrees, stopping on a medium shot of a short man with black hair wearing a perfectly tailored Kuppenheimer suit. A lit Chesterfield smoldered in his right hand as he addressed the camera in deep sonorous tones that belied his lack of height:

"Submitted for your approval, an excursion into a bizarre alternate universe. Destination: a country that was once a shining beacon but is now presided over by a man whose arrogance and delusional personality are matched only by the slavish adulation of his blathering minions in the media, a nation formerly called the United States of America but with each passing day becomes more and more a part of The Twilight Zone."

These people can't be satisfied.

They are the reasons to why Republicans are looked upon as "bigots" and "idiots".

They can't even allow a moment of solidarity go through without bitching.

Don't the progressives and rational minded people get tired of this stuff?

I mean all this outrage pimping is going to hurt the Republicans. Even Stallmigo Ted Cruz (R-TX) was getting attacked by his "stans" over even sending his condolences to the Mandela family.

It's basically the reasons to why it's fair to say that conservatives are not to be taken seriously. They don't take issues seriously. The AMERICAN WHITE CONSERVATIVE MALE is more dangerous than Castro.

These are the people the world needs to worry about.

Also in attendance is American gospel singer Kirk Franklin. He was singing at the memorial of Mandela.

Kirk Franklin appears on GospelCentric Music, LLC.
