Like every time the Grammy's come on, someone who made an impact in the music industry passed away. I mean we are reminded about the tragic death of Whitney Houston. She died on February 11, 2012. Now one of the greatest jazz musicians in the world passed away.
Al Jarreau, the voice behind several hits and the winner of seven Grammy Awards passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 76.
On his official website, the news was confirmed. He died in Los Angeles. He was hospitalized for exhaustion and it forced him off his tour. He would cancel his tour dates and semi-retire from touring.
He death was preceded with family and friends present.
He was a product of Milwaukee. He sang for fun growing up and didn't pursue a music career. He decided to jump into show business when he graduated from college.
Before his death, he apologized to his fans.
"With complete sorrow, Al Jarreau must retire from touring. He is thankful for his 50 years traveling the world in ministry through music --- and for everyone who shared this with him --- his faithful audience, the dedicated musicians and so many other who have supported his effort."
He is survived by his wife Susan and their son, Ryan.
Our late thread is dedicated to Al Jarreau and we mourn his loss.

Troy Ave didn't escape the Grinch who tried to take his life.
While on his way to his family's house to celebrate Christmas, rapper Troy Ave was ambushed by a gunman. The rapper and his wife were injured by the attack.
According to early reports, Troy Ave, real name Roland Collins, was shot twice while on his way to see his family in Brooklyn for Christmas. A lawyer for the rapper says his injuries are not life-threatening and that he drove himself to an area hospital for immediate treatment.
A tweet from the New York City Alerts account reports Collins was shot in the arm and grazed in the head while driving his Maserati in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn around 5 PM tonight.
Troy Ave's second brush with death this year. The rapper was at the center of the now infamous Irving Plaza concert shooting in May that saw one person dead and several injured. Troy reportedly shot himself in the leg during all the chaos and was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Troy Ave used his red Maserati on his mixtape cover.
He is currently on shackle after posting a nearly $1 million get out of jail free card. He faces that second-degree attempted murder trial next year.
Troy Ave is innocent until proven guilty.
Troy Ave newest mixtape is out. White Christmas 4.
It's unfortunate that even on Christmas, gun violence continues to happen.
There's no such thing as unity. The junk food media always promote Martin Luther King Day, Independence Day, 9/11, Thanksgiving and Christmas are symbolic days of unity. When in reality, its just another day where someone else loses their life to senseless violence.
Rapper/singer Cee-Lo Green got rattled over the weekend when his Samsung Galaxy phone blew up on him while he was in the recording studio.
A video surfaced over the past hour showing that the Goodie Mob/Gnarls Barkley frontman and former co-host of The Voice speaking on his phone in the studio when the phone explodes against his face.

Some rapper named Philly Chase obtained the video and it's being shared across the internet.
Ignorant rapper uses Twitter fingers to mock rivals. His stunt with a glock got him a court date in a California courtroom.
Crank that...Stupid Boi...Aaah!
DeAndre Cortez Way, professionally known as "One HIT Wonder Boy" is facing a court date.
He posted on social media his firepower. In California, you have to register where you stay and your P.O. does check the social media for potential violations of the terms. The moron didn't understand that in California, you caught with a burner under disability: "You're going to....well he already knows what I'm talking about!"
This stunt landed him in court because he's on in-house and was not allowed to carry a burner on him.
The burner under disability charge could put him in the iron college for up to 10 years.
Thank his blessings he didn't commit a violent crime. Cause under the law, you automatically head to the iron college for 25 years.
He is innocent until proven guilty.
Okay, Soulja Boy the CEO of Stacks on Deck Music has a major feud with waste of music group Migos and the frontman Quavo. The two have traded shots at each other on social media.
Soulja Boy also aimed his agitation at "Broccoli hookman" Lil' Yachty and former mentor Curtis "50 Reasons Not To Watch Power" Jackson over some dick swinging.
The Atl is buzzing about this.
Soulja Boy mocked the Quavo getting jacked for his loot.
"When ya got ya chain snatched in D.C., who the fuck's the one you called, nigga? You called big Soulja, nigga. 'I got my chain snatched, bro. Don't be mad at me, bro.' I ain't mad ain't mad at you. I'm just 'gon help you get yo shit back. You got my address, nigga. Pull up, fuck nigga. Fuck Quavo, I ain't squashing shit! And any nigga that got something to say about it, holler at me, nigga!"
Now he pointed that burner and sent it to his fans and possibly his P.O.
Now he's bonded out and rethinking about doing social media taunts for the time being. If the judge banned him from communication devices, he wouldn't be able to get on social media to release his music without being in violation of his court terms.
Old Fiddy joked about it. He says that Quavo snitched on him.
"Shit be crazy out here. First Soulja was like, 'Quavo want some beef with me.' Couple days later he was like 'Quavo call police on me. You know what kind of gun they found? I hope they ain't find that draco. Find something else don't find that draco. I know that nigga stressed. Niggas calling 1-800-TIPS-ON-A-NIGGA? What the fuck did you do?"
Soulja Boy released a single called Beef. It goes after Migos, Lil' Yachty and Nia Riley.
On social media, Lil' Yachty mocked the rapper for being the fake Al Capone of social media.
By the way, anyone who makes music claiming their from the streets isn't a "Gangsta".
If you're a gangsta, why don't you commit a real crime other than driving reckless in $100K Bugatti.
If you're bold enough to carry out a threat towards an individual, you're bold enough to face a courtroom of your fellow Americans.
If you're not willing to sacrifice a portion of your earnings to the communities where you claim are the "hood", you're not a gangsta.
By the way, 50 Cent, Game, Young Thug, Soulja Boy, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, Tyga, 21 Savage, Future, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, T.I., Waka Flocka, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Wayne, Birdman, Pusha T, Desiigner, Lil' Yachty and every other "street rapper" are not gangstas.
They're entertainers who make profit off the lifestyle and exploit that for financial gains.
I love their music and there's no question they got talent. But really?
Do you actually believe they'll die a "gangsta?"
They'll die rich and famous.
They can wear the tattoos, show off the guns and brag about how many women they banged. They can spurn all people who helped them throughout their lives. Once them bullets fly either they're willing to die under them or spend time in the iron college doing the job. A bullet has no eyes.
Jay-Z was always the smart rapper. He's the real street rapper. He turned his life into a billion dollar business.

Let's listen to LL Cool J.
It's a classic banger called Loungin' (Remix) (Who Do You Luv) featuring Total.

Many in the audience didn't expect Beyonce to appear at the awards. Brad Paisley confirmed Queen Bey's appearance in the second hour of the show.
There's a viral video online of a mom being pissed off at Def Jam's Vince Staples. The Long Beach rapper got Krystle Partido's attention. The mom from Oklahoma was ranting for 11 minutes about the rapper's song. She heard the song on a local radio station and she got emotional about this song.
"Norf Norf" just got more attention. I haven't heard the song but I will give it some attention.
Staples's Summertime '06 was released as a double album. It was released in June 2015 and it was critically acclaimed.
"I cannot believe this stuff is on the radio." She called the rapper's song "crap". Then she starts tearing up about it.
She reads the lyrics and said the N-word.
The online community went after her. She got death threats and criticism for attacking an entertainer.
However, one vital person in the mother’s corner is Staples himself. He’s saying that people online should respect an opinion that’s different from their own.
"I don't really have much to say about the video — I don't think it's funny at all," Staples told The Independent on Wednesday. "It's not right to attack someone over their stance, their opinions, and their religion. I think that's very immature."
Rapper appreciates the concern. He didn't condemn Oklahoma mom. He actually praised her.
In the mother's recording, she describes the 2015 track as "crap" and says that the lyrics infuriated her. "I remember listening to the top hits as a kid," she says. "You know Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, and N'SYNC. Those were the top hits when I was a kid. Nowadays it's not the same, not the same at all."
She admitted that the curse words were removed from the track but encouraged fellow parents to pay attention to music their children are listening to.
"I'm raising four little girls and that just breaks my heart," she says while sobbing. "I tell you right now, music has a strong influence on our children. I normally never listen to that radio station, it's almost like I was meant to hear to let you guys know about it."
To be clear, "Norf Norf" depicts the harsh reality of growing up on the north side of Long Beach, where folks have nothing productive to do but gangbang—a problem Staples has tried to remedy by investing in youth programs in the area.
Oklahoma mom cries over Vince Staples song.
Still, Staples believes that the negative reaction to the mother's video underscores a deeper problem in the states.
"We already have a lot of issues between black and white relations in this country based on misunderstandings," Staples continued. "In my eyes, she doesn't look like a racist. She doesn't look like a mean person. It's not very responsible for people to try to take that and jump, looking for some sort of commentary on these issues."
"It's just not right that’s she’s being attacked—it’s not okay."
Partido was surprised when the rapper gave her praise. She was thankful that the rapper appreciated her stance and hope they could one day meet and talk about it.
Staples has often talked about his life in Long Beach and the violence he grew up in. He works at community centers when he's not rapping.
Atlanta's own Shawty Lo killed in a fiery car crash. The rapper leaves behind many children.
The junk food media is talking about it and the hip-hop community is mourning. Carlos Walker, known as Shawty Lo passed away overnight after a fatal accident in Atlanta. The rapper was 40 years old and was the father of numerous children.
His representatives announced the news just about three hours ago.
At first many believed that the rapper was killed in a hit-and-run. But it might be a self-inflicted and it involved alcohol.
Shawty Lo is best known for the hits "Dey Know" and the "Laffy Taffy" from his previous group D4L. The rapper had connections to Atlanta's biggest acts. He collaborated with names like Ludacris, 50 Cent, Gucci Mane, Future, Rocko, Waka Flocka Flame and many others.
Shawty Lo's huge family will be fatherless.

The crash happened at 2:20 am and temporarily blocked the highway at Cascade Road.
The accident was cleared up.
The accident happened when a white Audi went over the guardrail, hit two trees and burst into flames. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other people inside the car were taken to the hospital and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
You may remember that Shawty Lo attracted major controversy from the junk food media. The rapper leaves behind 11 children from numerous women.
Conservative agitators like Bill O'Reilly, Neal Boortz, old fart Rush Limbaugh and Sean "Softball" Hannity threw a temper tantrum and forced Oxygen to cancel his reality television show.
Lil' Wayne pissed that Birdman let the Tyga loose.
Lil' Wayne is mentally deflated with the music business. He is losing his label and his acts. He was pissed that Tyga was let go from his contract with Young Money/Cash Money without Weezy's approval.
His old mentor has majority control of Rich Gang Music and Weezy's Young Money Entertainment and the move was unprecedented.
Bryan "Baby" Williams, known professionally as Birdman owns the labels as well as Cash Money Records. Cash Money Records was founded by Birdman and his brother Ronald "Slim" Williams.
The two started the label in New Orleans and they signed their distribution deal with Universal Republic Records.
Tyga is a washed up rapper who gained fame following Weezy, Drizzy and Nicki. He had some modest hits on the radio, but unfortunately he had a string of bad luck. That deal with Cash Money didn't help him score Grammy albums. And his record deal that wasn't living up to its expectations.
In October 2014, Tyga was first to express frustration with label. He was upset over the label not releasing his album. He was angry and vented off at Birdman. He also engaged in a public feud with Drake.
Drake let him have it. He knocked the rapper for his sexual deviancy and his controversial relationship with Kylie Jenner.
Tyga's last album Last King: The Gold Album 18th Dynasty was pushed independently with Kanye West co-executive producing the album. The album didn't fare well and it was shipped to the burner.
Tyga begins his new journey from the back.
Tyga who is struggling to pay his bills had got a break. His girlfriend Kylie Jenner asked her brother-in-law Kanye West to give him a leg up.
Tyga officially signed to G.O.O.D. Music and performed with Desiigner, the rapper who sounds eerily similar to Future.
TMZ reports that Lil' Wayne is furious that Birdman let the Tyga go.
Sources close to Wayne tell TMZ, that the rapper is fuming after Tyga was cut loose, opening the door for him to sign a new deal with Kanye. Problem is....he was on Young Money and Weezy had a 49% stake in his company.
The Kardashian/Jenner clan isn't pleased with Tyga's relationship with Kylie. The rapper is blowing money fast and they believe he's embarrassing to Kylie and the family.
Birdman rather make money than waste his time on a failed act.
Tyga's been warned by Kanye West to cut the games. He wants him to destroy his black book, take care of his son and get the financial situation in order.
Wayne believes Birdman's extravagant living has been a burden to the label. Lil' Wayne sued Birdman for $51 million in royalties and his release from Cash Money and Young Money.
Jerry Heller, the co-founder of Ruthless Records and the manager of famed hip-hop group N.W.A., passed away.
Jerry Heller, the man who helped bring the N.W.A. into the mainstream passed away. Heller was the manager of the group and was one of the reasons for the breakup. Heller passed away at the age of 75 in Thousand Oaks, California.
He died of a heart attack and his family confirmed it was a fatal car accident.
Heller met Eazy E and helped him form Ruthless Records. The label was responsible for pushing out the hits. It also gave the West Coast a voice. It dealt with oppression, police brutality and America's treatment of Black America. Critics said that the music was promoting violence and sexism.
The group dismissed this. They were saying that these issues are a part of Black urban life. They were expressing their freedom of speech.
The N.W.A. was composed of Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, and Eazy E.
Arabian Prince would leave the group before it would become a mainstream act.
The group was one of the earliest and most significant members of hip-hop. The group is by far one of the most controversial. They couldn't get radio play because of their songs, but the group managed to pull sell 10 million units.
Things got worse for the group when Ice Cube accused Heller of mismanaging their money.
The world's most dangerous group.
The group would eventually breakup in 1991. Dr. Dre would leave Ruthless to start up the Death Row label with Marion "Big Suge" Knight.
Dr. Dre and Ice Cube would bash Heller and Eazy E for selling out their music. Eazy E said that Jerry was a "gangsta for life" and he wouldn't want to be around them "marks" Dre and Cube.
Eazy E would record a few more EP and his full length album under Ruthless. Around 1995, Eazy was getting ill. He was diagnoses with complications from AIDS. He passed away from the deadly disease.
The critically acclaimed Straight Outta Compton movie portrayed Heller as a bad person. He would sue the F. Gary Gary and NBCUniversal for slander. He would blame the movie for him having trouble trying to secure acts.
The album Straight Outta Compton marked the beginning of gangsta rap. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
You got to give up to the city of Compton. Without the N.W.A., you wouldn't have gangsta rap.
Ruthless Records also was responsible for bring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to the label. The Cleveland based group composed of Krayzie, Layzie, Wish, Bizzy and Flesh Bone.
Another day in court for troubled pop singer Chris Brown.
Chris Brown is a troubled pop singer. He once again is seeing bars in his future. The LAPD paid him a visit after a woman reported him acting a fool at his home. He grabbed his side piece and pointed it at her head.
He will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. This charge could land him in the iron college for up to 25 years in the state of California. He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The call came in at 3am and it had a woman screaming for the law to come to the pop singer's residence. The allegations of the woman is that she saw something shiny and it was dedicate to Brown.
Brown, a notorious hot head got to threatening her and grabbed his glock and shoved it into her breast and head.
The law arrived at the residence. Brown decided to shut the lights off and head to bed. Of course, the law warned him that he better surrender or get dragged out by force.
Brown has been a lighting rod for trouble. His most notable arrest took place in 2009 for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna following a pre-Grammy party.
He pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced that year to five years' in-house, a year-long domestic violence class and six months of community labor. He had issues complying with the terms of probation in that case, but completed that probation in Los Angeles County early last year.
Since then, he has also dealt with a fraud complaint against him in the Philippines last summer for allegedly canceling a New Year's Eve concert and was the subject of a potential battery investigation against a model in Las Vegas in January. She claimed that he hit her and took her cellphone, but police never pursued charges.
Me thinks the victim could be Karrueche Tan, Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter Royalty.
Champagne Papi confirms that his collaboration album with Guwop is a go. The album is coming out in September.
Fresh out the feds, Radric Davis known as the Gucci Mane is hungry for music. He released Everybody's Looking on Atlantic and it was a success.
The Gucci Mane and Drake project will be titled The 6'ers. It will be released through APPLE Music and it will feature production from Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven, and Noah "40" Shebib.
It's sort of a sequel to the platinum album What A Time To Be Alive. That was Drake first collaboration album with Atlanta's codeine obsessed rapper Future.
Drake is riding high as the king of hip-hop. He dethroned Eminem. His album Views surpassed The Marshall Mathers LP in weeks on the Billboard top selling albums.
Drake is engaged in a feud now with Slaughterhouse rapper Joe Budden. He will address Budden on this album.
This will come as no surprise that Drake said it best, "Gucci gets out, you know it's a problem".
Rocko is mocking Future by calling him "Meathead". Future previously known as Meathead the Future. The Dungeon Family signed Future as a member of the group Da Connect. Rocko (right) stands with LA Reid (center) and Future (left).
Atlanta's codeine obsessed trap rapper is feuding with his old rhyming partna, Rocko da Don.
Rocko is suing Future and Epic Records over missed royalties and breach of contract. Rocko is asking for $13 million in damages. Future recorded four albums under Epic Records and one through Cash Money Records/Universal Republic with Drake.
Future is a signed act on A1 Records, the label that Rocko created. Future is signed under contract to make six albums. He is working on his fifth album slated for Winter release.
Future is laughing off the lawsuit. He believe that Rocko's light dims every time he opens his mouth.
Rocko decides embarrass Future by recapping his old rap name. Back in the day, Future was known as Meathead the Future and was rocking with the Dungeon Family. He was rhyming with Da Connect, a group that often worked with OutKast and the Goodie Mob. Future wasn't as big back in the 2000s. When he met Rocko, he learned the game and used it well.
When Rocko signed a deal with LA Reid and Jermaine Dupri during their reign on Def Jam, Future was there with him. Rocko left Def Jam and signed on to Epic Records to disturb his label A1 Entertainment. Rocko signed Future to the label.
Future denies ever getting help and said that ankle biting from Rocko hasn't helped much in sales.
Rocko is giving ammunition to Future's rival Desiigner. Future is engaged in a serious feud with New York rapper Desiigner after the single Panda took off. The rapper sounds very similar to Future and it's gotten some junk food media coverage.
Rocko said that he helped "Meathead" since 2006. He said that if it wasn't for him, "Meathead" wouldn't have the deals, the collaborations with Drake, Gucci Mane, and the hookup with Ciara.

Future is getting his Freebandz Records together. He teamed up with Black Migo Gang leader Young Scooter to make the label. The label is starting to sign acts and Rocko is not a part of that.
Rocko had gave Future his break and I guess the rapper gave him the finger.
Future is the hottest act in hip-hop. He's turned up and blasting off. But that "Meathead" label might stick around a bit. Assured that rappers who feud with Future will now refer to him as that god awful name.
Note: Future is the father of five children. One of the children comes from my second cousin who met him when he wasn't famous.
Atlanta's codeine obsessed trap rapper is on fire. Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn (aka Future) got him three back to back number one albums. The DS2, What A Time To Be Alive and EVOL hit the charts and scored him a platinum deal.
Future is working with some of the biggest names in hip-hop.
We just reported that DJ Khaled is getting Jay-Z off the Lemonade to record a single with Future.
The rapper is working on his fifth album and it's going to be released in the Winter.
Future is currently signed to Epic Records. He credits L.A. Reid for giving him the opportunity to grow and vows to continue to make hits. One person he forgot to mention on his quest to greatness is the guy who gave him his start.
Future's humble beginnings started from the basement of Rodney Hill (aka Rocko). Future signed on to Rocko's label to make his debut mixtape 1000 and the follow up Dirty Sprite. The mixtapes were extremely successful and gave him name recognition. When he broke into the mainstream with his mixtapes, he was quickly signed to Epic to record his debut album Pluto.
Then after Pluto came Honest, then DS2, What A Time To Be Alive and EVOL.
Each of those album were recorded by Future through his A1 contract. But now that Future is trying to build his Freebandz label, it looks like Rocko is going to take him to court over this.
Rocko Dinero is feuding with Future Hendrix over the royalties.
According to TMZ, Rocko just sued Future citing a 2011 contract he believes he breached. He said that Future was to make his first six albums with A1 Records.
Rocko says Epic Records signed on to distribute the albums, but things got complicated. In the lawsuit, Future cut a side deal with Epic and it scored him multi-million dollar advances.
Rocko said that Future stiffed him out of the cut. The commission owed by Epic. Future is also facing a lawsuit over the touring, endorsements and album sales.
Did you expect this rap feud to happen? U.O.E.N.O....!
Note: Future is feuding with Desiigner. The rapper is proudly declaring that he's using Future's trademark flow. Desiigner's smash single Panda is gotten mainstream attention and it drove Future into addressing the rapper.
Future is feuding with the mother of his son Future Zahir. Pop singer Ciara was upset over allegations of the rapper cheating on her. They quickly called off an engagement and are fighting over child support. Future is asking for partial custody and lower support payments. Ciara is fighting for full custody and full payments. Ciara is dating Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. They are planning on getting married in the late Fall.
Future is the father of five children. One of the children is from one of my closest cousins.
The Future HIVE is buzzing about the feud.

The queens of mean tangle with one another. It came to an offensive posting by controversial rapper/model Azealia Banks taking aim at the verbal garbage Sarah Palin spewed in Wisconsin.
Palin said that "real Americans" shouldn't apologize for the horrendous acts of the founders. She basically involuntarily said in an opinion piece that "slavery was justified".
Banks didn't appreciate that. Seeing that she follow politics, she struck Palin hard.
The rapper said that Palin should be gang raped by a group of Black men. That shot across the social media got the conservatives riled up. Conservative outrage poured into the social media.
Mama Grizzly isn't pleased about the offensive shot and she threatened to sue.
Banks got an earful from her publicist and media agitators. She was forced to own up and apologize for posting such an offensive tweet. The rapper said that she doesn't condone rape on anyone.
Note: Palin is the former governor of Alaska and supporter of GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
Banks is a supporter of Bernie Sanders. She was previously a supporter of Trump.
Banks follows politics very closely. She complained that conservatives are ignorant assholes. She said conservative agitators like that old fart Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge can eat a dick.
UNDERSTAND THIS: RAPE IS RAPE! THERE'S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT IT!
RAPE VICTIMS OFTEN NEVER TELL THE LAW FEARING THREATS OF VIOLENCE AND THE THOUGHTS THAT NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE THEM.
A song that goes after controversial Republican candidate goes viral. The group made it specifically for the most unrepentant media whore in the presidential race. Once it made it to the conservative Craigslist, it goes viral and attracts attention from some of the finger wagging agitators.
The most annoying conservative agitator to have radio show, television, blog and access to Republican candidates is concern trolling hip-hop music once again. And he's telling the public that they're freedom of dissent should have them thrown in the iron college.
Instead of calling him Sean Hannity, we should could him, Nannity! Nannity, the whiniest man on the planet. A wannabe that shouldn't have been. He's trying to be like the old farts Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh. He's parroting talking point and name dropping asshole.
On the radio show and television program, Nannity complains about some sucker MCs dissing Donald Trump. He believes that the teens should get a visit from the Secret Service for saying "fuck Trump" and "don't come to Baltimore".
Comedian makes a mock rap going after Trump and conservatives go bananas over it.
The song Choppas in the a Trumk for Donald Trump (CIT4DT) were performed by comedians, Dooley, Tlow and Lor Roger.
Of course, they're not really threatening a presidential candidate. But since it's rap music and it has explicit lyrics, conservatives are outraged over it.
The song's threats of violence against Trump were not literal or even serious.
"We didn't mean no harm by it," Ibrahim said. "We don't got no damn chopper! My religion says don't even kill. I wouldn't kill an innocent fly."
Abdel Ibrahim (Dooley's) popularity online has grown in a short time. (He started posting videos about a year ago, he said.) His Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts each have more than 60,000 followers. A fan-uploaded compilation of his comedy clips has garnered nearly 350,000 views since late February.
