What Happened To James Huber?

James Huber was shot by a New York State Trooper.

The New York Attorney General Letitia James has released the footage of a deadly police encounter between the New York State Patrol Officer and a Pennsylvania motorist. The shooting involved a trooper who shot and killed James Huber, a man from North East, Pennsylvania. He was a father of three.

Trooper Anthony Nigro IV shot and killed Huber, 38 in downtown Buffalo, New York. The shooting happened on Feb. 12 but now is getting national coverage.

Dramatic bodycam footage shows the moment when shortly after Nigro grabbed Huber's jacket, it appears that he tried to get something and thus the cop shot him three times and fell back. The vehicle would accelerate and crash into a parking garage.

The incident happened on the New York Throughway (Interstate 90). Huber was allegedly driving more than 100 mph. He would then get on Interstate 190 and proceed towards downtown Buffalo.

He gets off an exit and then is pulled over. 

The two had a brief conversation Huber said to the trooper "Go away," and refused to get out of his vehicle.

The car crashes into a parking garage.

The trooper then reaches for his hand to grab his hood. He held the firearm close to his head while grabbing Huber. The trooper was close to telling him to "Get the fuck...." before he fired.

Nigro shot him three times before falling to the ground.

The family demands answers to why this incident involved his death. Speeding shouldn't be a death sentence. It appears he was trying to head to Ontario to join in the trucker's protests. In Canada, there were a series of protests around Ottawa, the Ambassador Bridge and International Peace Bridge, major corridors for trade between the U.S. and Canada.

These trucker rallies are not a theme here in the United States.

Anyway, the trooper has been placed in the freezer while the Erie County prosecutor and New York state authorities are investigating whether a grand jury is planning on hearing the case.

Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms. 

I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. 

I don't want to hear folks say masks and vaccine mandates impede their freedoms. It prevents a deadly outbreak from spreading. If you want to die from the coronavirus, that's on you.

I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.
