Elie Mystal tells the truth. |
Writer Elie Mystal goes on The View and tells a hard truth about the U.S. Constitution and how it was represented for the preservation of white supremacy. He literally called the constitution "trash."
It sparked outrage among the far-right.
Those very same folks who believe the Jan. 6 insurrection was just a "peaceful protest" that was infiltrated by those Black Lives Matter and Antifa agitators. The very same folks who support a man who literally is lying about the 2020 election. A man who refuses to concede to the fact that he lost his reelection bid, fair and square.
These are the very same folks who support white nationalist policies. The very same people who want to restrict a woman's right to having a safe termination of fetus. The very same people who want to make it harder for Blacks, Latinos, the poor, the homeless and the elderly to vote in the elections. The very same people who want to keep Americans from using the safety net. The very same people who want to ban books, critical race theory teaching and masks in schools. The very same folks who claim they're for parental rights but in reality masquerading a culture war distraction to win back power in Congress.
White lawmakers who are outraged over an opinion should look at themselves. Conservative lawmakers never believed in the constitution. They only believe in authoritarian rule.
If they can "own the libs" they're satisfied with the country.
Elie Mystal was on The View talking about the founding of the nation. He dismissed the "rainbow and sunshine" version of America's founding. He basically laid out the hard truth.
He literally called the constitution trash. He said it's about time to throw out the U.S. Constitution because it doesn't defy the diversity of this nation.
"The Constitution is kind of trash. Let's just talk as adults for a second."
Joy Behar asked Mystal to repeat his claims. He stuck to his choice of words.
"It's kind of trash. It was written by slavers and colonists, and white people who were willing to make deals with slavers and colonists. They didn't ask anybody who looked like me what they thought about the Constitution."
He added: "This document was written without consent of Black and Brown people in this country, and without the consent of women in this country. And I say, if this is the starting point, the very least we can do is ignore what those slavers and colonists and misogynists thought, and interpret the Constitution in a way that makes sense for our modern world."
So again, we can't talk about slavery but we have to be reminded about the Holocaust and Sept. 11, 2001. I mean each of these tragedies are horrific and symbolic to America and the world as a whole.
Every. Damn. WORD of this https://t.co/blESZa7Yoz

The great thing about UP was that you were on for the whole hour, across a range of topics. So it was more conversational. And, perhaps counterintuitively, a lot easier to be humble. Very easy to be like "Hey, this isn't expertise so... @Maria_Hinojosa tell me more" or whatever.

6yo: Daddy, is it more important to have a lawyer or an agent?
— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) March 5, 2022
Me: Depends. What do you need them for?
6yo: To have rights.
Me: Well, you have parents to defend those.
6yo: But what if my parents don't give me rights?
Me: ... YOU CANNOT HAVE early electronics.
Welcome, new white wing folks, with your oh so original Don King and Professor Klump jokes. Your spicy creativity is, as always, notable. Please stay awhile, your mayonnaise sandwiches are in the back and the lessons will resume shortly.

Those who wrote the constitution, claimed that “all men are created equal,” yet they owned people.

Racism was codified in the document through he notorious Three-Fifths Clause and the repugnant Fugitive Slave Clause.@ElieNYC aka ‘Don King’ to bigots, is right, it’s TRASH. pic.twitter.com/DtqdtCNNKE
The same people mad at him and calling him Don King are the same idiots who clap for Candace Owens when she tap dances for them. https://t.co/kSvSoBO4GW

If Whoopi Goldberg and Don King had a child it would be Elie Mystal.

Does anyone know her pronouns? https://t.co/6e6bb52Pi8
The millions of Jewish people killed by the Axis powers led by the Nazi Germans was a tragedy that never will be forgotten. The legacies of German, Polish and French Jewish people being executed for being different is tragic. A horrific anti-Semitic event in world history.
The thousands of people inside the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and those airliners were killed by professional hijackers who followed a man who never lifted a finger to benefit their cause. A horrific tragedy on a sunny Tuesday morning in September. A tragedy that changed America and made us for a brief moment unified in condemnation of al Qaeda and those who supported this horrific tragedy. A tragedy that will never be forgotten
When it comes to American slavery, Black America should get over it.... says the very folks who continue to deny the history. We should get over systematic racism in policing, the job market, the banks, the housing, the big box stores and the junk food media's portrayal of crime.
Colin Flaherty's rotten ass is dead. Thankfully he's no longer poisoning the world with his vile crap of victim blaming, race baiting and racial angst.
But it doesn't stop the racist websites devoted to calling us NIGGERS. It doesn't stop Fox, Breitbart, The Drudge Report, WorldNetDaily, Newsmax, OANN and The Gateway Pundit from making Black on whatever crime a topic de jour.
Twitter, Facebook and YouTube can wipe the racism off their platforms only for Rumble, Telegram, Gab, Parler, Truth Social and GETTR to revive and relish in it.
Calling it like it is is not critical race theory. It's goddamn truth.
Mystal is being targeted by the far-right. They have resorted to calling him, Don King.
Don King, the controversial boxing promotor and manager to Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones, Jr.,
King, 90 supported Washed Up 45 in 2016 and 2020.
Mystal is brushing off the criticism. He said that the hard truth will never settle with those who never want to learn.
