It appears the killer of New York rapper Pop Smoke is a 15-year old teenager. The killer and his friends were attempting to rob the rapper of his luxuries when they got into a scuffle.
Bashar Jackson was going to be a protege of 50 Cent. He was sporting the "Woo" movement.
Last year, Pop Smoke was gunned down by a group of teens bent on stealing his diamond-studded Rolex watch, the Los Angeles Police Department confirm.
The terrorist and his buddies stormed the rapper's Airbnb rental in Hollywood Hillis also were after his Cuban link chain but only managed to swipe the watch and resold the watch for $2,000.
The terrorist, the youngest of four defendants now facing murder and robbery charges in the case, allegedly admitted his role in the slaying during a recorded interview with an informant at a juvie center last May.
"He admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Beretta 9 (mm.)," said LAPD Det Carlos Camacho.
The detective testified at a preliminary hearing for a different terrorist, who is 20 years old. He is the sole defendant in the high-profile case.
The terrorist allegedly "admitted that they asked for the jewelry" and then had "a confrontation" with Pop Smoke during the 4am home invasion on Feb. 19, 2020.
"They got into a fight, and he shot him three times," Camacho said, citing the terrorist's recorded jail interview. "He said he shot him on the back."
The 20-year old suspect pleaded not guilty.
According to Camacho, the older terrorist similarly confessed to his role in the deadly confrontation during a seperate, secretly recorded jailhouse interview with a different informant placed in his cell after his July arrest.
The terrorist admitted the group used ski masks, gloves and a police scanner to try to evade detection.
Pop Smoke's parents Greg and Audrey Jackson were angered over the way they killed their son.
The literally shot him in the back. As he went down, they kicked him in the head, stomped on his face and then took his jewelry for a quick buck.
The suspects are facing murder charges. If some are underaged, they could be criminally charged as adults and be facing up to LIFE in the iron college. The adult is facing LIFE or DEATH if convicted.
The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
