Images of Tulsa massacre exist.

The Tulsa Massacre of Greenwood happened 100 years ago.

As of today, Greenwood is basically a historical freedom community near downtown Tulsa.

The main highway into downtown Tulsa, Interstate 244 goes through a portion of the community.

A part of American history that the far right and white nationalists want you to forget. On May 31, 1921, a white mob went into the Greenwood neighborhood and burned it down.

Greenwood was called "Black Wall Street" for it was an affluent neighborhood for Black people. The Tulsa community will honor the lives lost in this horrific tragedy.

The white mob burned 35 square blocks of the vibrant Black community were turned into smoldering ashes. Countless Black people were killed — estimates ranged from 55 to more than 300 — and 1,000 homes and businesses were looted and set on fire.

It was all started from an incident involving a Black shoeshine boy and a Karen. This was,  "I will scream if you touch me. I'll tell the police you raped me, even though I am lying."

"You are just a Nigger. No one will believe you."

Jim Crow kept Blacks from going to local hospitals. So the undertaker had to take the dying bodies.

Dick Rowland, a 19-year old Black shoeshiner, tripped and fell in an elevator and his hand accidentally caught the shoulder of Sarah Page, a white 17-year-old operator. Page screamed and Rowland was seen running away.

Police were summoned but Page refused to press charges. However, by that afternoon, there was already talks of lynching Rowland on the streets of white Tulsa. The tension then escalated after the white newspaper Tulsa Tribune ran a front-page story entitled “Nab Negro for Attacking Girl In Elevator,” which accused Rowland of stalking, assault and rape.

In the Tribune, there was also a now-lost editorial entitled “To Lynch Tonight,” according to Ellsworth. When the Works Progress Administration went to microfilm the old issues of the Tribune in the 1930s, the op-ed had already been torn out of the newspaper, Ellsworth said.

They literally shot a man dead in the streets.

Many believe the newspaper coverage undoubtedly played a part in sparking the massacre.

The United States literally covered up the massacre. It was never mentioned in history books.

The state of Oklahoma and it governor, Karen Stitt and Republicans want to ban critical race theory. However, they finally realized that a great wrong was done in the city.

There are currently three surviving members of that tragedy.

Lessie Benningfield Randle, Viola Fletcher and Hughes Van Ellis survived the massacre.

Three surviving members of the Tulsa race massacre were honored on this day.

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and members of Congress honored them.

Only last year, Washed Up 45 decided to hold his first campaign rally after he halted them during the COVID-19 pandemic. He intentionally wanted to keep campaigning despite the danger of the pandemic spreading in the United States. At that time, we were at 55,000 deaths.

So thousands of supporters came to the event and unfortunately, five people had died after attending that campaign rally. Herman Cain contracted the coronavirus and died a month later.

Many campaign workers and Secret Service members contracted the coronavirus.

The city of Tulsa warned the former president that the risk was too great. He ignored the warnings.
