A pandemic killed over 600,000 Americans. The coronavirus isn't going anywhere. We're coming close to the unofficial start of Summer. We are also expected to see more people on the roads and in the air now that vaccinations are up to nearly 40%. We also are seeing Americans slowly returning back to normal operations at their jobs. Folks are going back to work. However we have income inequality. We have a Senate evenly split with Vice President Kamala Harris being the deciding factor. The Republicans are not willing to concede to reality. They vow to oppose President Joe Biden's agenda. 

Colonial Pipeline is trying to regain its strengths.

Biden's proposal The American Jobs Plan is focused on infrastructure. This includes roads, bridges, airports, pipelines, railroads and tunnels. It also includes cybersecurity for structures and family initiatives to help with single families working with young children. 

The bill is being stalled in the U.S. Senate. 

We have gasoline prices going up in the United States and it's due to more people on the roads.

Oh what fickles we have! Last year there was panic buying over toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectants and water. We heard no complaints from the maskless anti-vaccinated far right. 

A private company that specializes in distributing oil through its pipeline was hacked by a foreign operative based out of Russia. The pipeline stretches from Texas to New York. The pipeline and its company will be shut down and now the fuel prices are rising. 

So the maskless anti-vaccinated far right is raging at who?

Not the private company that allowed it to be hacked by a ransomware.

The attack by DarkSide, a relatively new criminal group believed to have roots in Eastern Europe, exposed the remarkable vulnerability of key American infrastructure.

The attack has the pipeline completely shutdown.

President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency on May 9. The declaration removed limits regarding the transport of fuels by road, in an attempt to alleviate any potential shortages stemming from the pipeline shutdown. Biden said on May 10 that, though there was no evidence that the Russian government was responsible for the attack, there was evidence that the DarkSide group is in Russia, and that thus, Russian authorities "have some responsibility to deal with this".

DarkSide released a statement on May 9 that did not directly mention the attack, but stated that "our goal is to make money, and not creating problems for society".

The group was first noticed in August 2020. Cybersecurity company Kaspersky described the group as an "enterprise" due to their professional looking website and attempts to partner with journalists and decryption companies.

In a press release on their website, DarkSide claimed that they would not target hospitals, hospices, schools, universities, non-profit organizations, or the government sector. The group have also claimed to donate some of their ransom money to charity and have posted receipts for several apparent donations on their website.

The gas prices are rising.

The Colonial Pipeline carries gasoline, diesel and jet fuel from Texas to as far away as New York. About 45% of all fuel consumed on the East Coast arrives via the pipeline system. The attack came amid growing concerns over the vulnerability of infrastructure to cyberattacks after several high-profile attacks, including the 2020 SolarWinds hack that hit multiple government agencies, including the Pentagon, the Treasury Department, the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security.

The Politico said it was "believed to be the largest successful cyberattack on oil infrastructure in the country's history".The FBI and various media sources have identified the criminal hacking group DarkSide as the responsible party. The same group is believed to have stolen 100 gigabytes of data from company servers the day before the malware attack. DarkSide is not believed to be connected to any state government.

This controversy has also brought to attention the importance of cybersecurity. The Republican Party will not work with Biden. They're too busy appeasing Vladimir Putin and white nationalists. 

The literally want the Russian government to undermine the United States. 

The writing is on the wall. The Republicans want to see Biden fail so they can return to power.

Once a Republican gets back into the White House, they will remove the filibuster. They will ram through federal judges. They will push for more restrictive voter laws. They will add more Supreme Court justices. They will criminalize free speech (i.e. criticism of Israel, critical race theory and supporting anti-American operatives) and they will ban transgender Americans from opportunities. They will force Christian beliefs in public schools and public institutions. They will bring more firearms on school campuses, more firearms in public facilities, and keep us divided with racial tensions.
