Rep-elect Julia Letlow is the widow of Luke Letlow, the former Rep-elect who died three days before he was to be sworn in as a U.S. Representative for Louisiana.
Letlow easily won her bid to be U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District. The 40-year old widow of former chief of staff to former lawmaker Ralph Abraham, Luke Letlow filed her papers to run for the seat her late husband won.
He caught the coronavirus in late December after he won his run-off election. He was admitted to the hospital in Monroe before being transferred to Shreveport where he died. He died three days before he was to be sworn in.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) Gov. John Bel Edwards, former vice president Mike Pence and Louisiana Republican senators Bill Cassidy and John R. Kennedy shared their condolences to the family.

Julia is a Ph.D. in education and is an administrator for the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
She is the mother of two young children.
The district heavily went to Washed Up 45 and Luke Letlow embraced the actions of this idiot. The idiot ended up not wearing face masks at many of his events. He ended up catching it and dying.
Letlow got endorsements from Washed Up 45, Abraham, the Republican legislature of Louisiana and Mark Levin. She pulled in a healthy 60.1% of the vote starving off a run off. That win also makes a first.
She will be the first woman to represent Louisiana.
She will be sworn in on Tuesday by McCarthy.
Now the race to replace Cedric Richmond who left to join President Joe Biden's Senior Staff will be held as well. The results are pending. The race for the 2nd Congressional District likely going to be for the Democrats but it's likely a Republican can pull a win in the district.
Louisiana has a jumble election. It does not matter who's on the ballot. Whoever wins over 50.9% of the vote will starve a run-off and likely be the person representing the delegation and senate.
