Far-right media critic's son got a taste of the federal sandwich.
The fourth generation of Brent Bozells is facing criminal charges for his role in the insurrection back in January 2021. The infamous "Stop The Steal/Save America" rally sponsored by former president Donald J. Trump and the far-right bastards within the Republican Party sparked at riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The spineless bastards in the Republican minority refused to support convicting Trump of inciting an insurrection.
The people who infiltrated the U.S. Capitol are poor, misguided, white privileged and deeply flawed.
Some of those involved were people of color, gay, military veterans, current legislators, former legislators, firefighters and police officers.
Some were famous.
Meet Leo Brent Bozell IV, the son of the prominent far-right media critic Brent Bozell. He is accused of entering a restricted government building, obstructing an official proceeding and disorderly conduct, according to a complaint in U.S. District Court of Washington DC.
Bozell was seen on camera entering the Capitol and occupying the Senate chambers.
Bozell's father is the co-founders of the Media Research Center, a far-right media company that devotes itself to "advocating decency in the media and exposing liberal biases in television, radio and the internet."
Far-right agitator's son arrested puts an ugly mark on his legacy as the "Christian" moralist. |
On the day of the Capitol insurrection, the elder Bozell said on Fox Business that he condemned the violence but said, "This is an explosion of pent-up outrage from middle America."
"They are furious that they believe this election was stolen," he added. "I agree with them."
The government's case against the younger Bozell began after the FBI received tips from three individuals. Those tipsters identified Bozell from videos of rioters inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, in part because of the blue sweatshirt Bozell was apparently wearing, which included the logo for Hershey Christian Academy, a private school in Pennsylvania. The school describes itself as "a small, Christ-centered school" and teaches pre-K through 10th grade, according to its website.
One witness allegedly told the FBI that Bozell has children who attended the school and was also its former girls' basketball coach. Witnesses said he goes by the nickname "Zeeker."
In January, before Bozell was officially identified, the school said on Facebook, "please understand that the person depicted in the photographs is not a board member, employee, or representative of Hershey Christian Academy."
The suspect faces up to twenty years in the federal time out if convicted. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
