Rarely cops are convicted on murder charges. Donald J. Trump is by far the most polarizing person to ever be in the White House. His legacy will forever be tarnished by scandal.
Jason Van Dyke, the dirty cop who shot and killed Laquan McDonald in 2014 has been convicted of his murder. The city of Chicago was preparing for a massive outpouring of anger if the cop was acquitted of the murder.
The former Chicago Police officer was ten feet from Laquan. According to reports, Lequan was acting erratically while walking down the street and was holding a folding knife.
The police internal review said that it was a justified killing.

Van Dyke was charged on six counts of first degree murder. It was reduced to second degree murder.
This conviction will put him in the iron college for 5 to 30 years in the iron college.

Rahm Emmanuel, the embattled mayor announced he was no longer seeking reelection after two terms riddled with scandal. Cook County prosecutor Anita Alvarez was ousted in a primary. Garry McCarthy, the Police Superintendent of the Chicago Police was fired out the cannon.

During closing arguments, prosecutor Jody Gleason noted that Van Dyke had old detectives tell him that Lequan raided the knife, the dirty cop backpedaled. The claims of Laquan trying to rush him were proven false.
He basically lied because the dash cam showed something different.
The dirty cop shot Laquan 16 times. That was no accident. His lawyers will appeal the pending sentence.
