Dave Chappelle Invests In Yellow Springs, Ohio!

I am here to save the village.

Comedian and actor Dave Chappelle is part of Yellow Springs, Ohio. He practically invests millions into the progressive leaning village in the conservative Greene County.

The local public radio station WYSO which operates from Antioch College has a satellite station inside the Dayton Arcade. There was talk that the radio station was going to leave its original location to move to Dayton to be incorporated in the iHeartMedia Dayton center in the Arcade.

Chappelle put a stop to that.

He put millions into reinvesting the Union Schoolhouse and made it the permanent location for WYSO.

WYSO operates as the NPR/APM radio station for the Miami Valley.

Chappelle stood on the front lawn of a newly restored 19th-century schoolhouse Thursday, joining neighbors and local officials as a small-town radio station secured its future in the community he calls home.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked two historic moments: Chappelle's restoration of the Union Schoolhouse and WYSO's relocation of its new broadcast facility inside it, bringing together distinct efforts to keep the station rooted in Yellow Springs at a time when local media outlets face mounting challenges.

“It’s like our lifeblood in the community,” Chappelle told The Associated Press about the station, recalling how its possible departure to nearby Dayton would have been “a crushing blow” for Yellow Springs.

More than 200 people gathered outside the former Union Schoolhouse, where Chappelle attended along with his wife, mother, station leaders and village officials, including Yellow Springs Mayor Steve McQueen and Dayton Mayor Shenise Turner-Sloss, to celebrate the opening the schoolhouse and the 68-year-old station into its next chapter.

The Union Schoolhouse was originally built in 1872 and once served as one of the village’s earliest integrated schools before later housing municipal offices and small businesses. After sitting vacant for years, it was purchased in 2020 by Chappelle’s real estate company, Iron Table Holdings.

The property has since been transformed into a modern, multiuse space, with WYSO occupying the lower floors, while Chappelle’s offices will be based on the top floor.

For Chappelle, the investment was as much about preservation as development.

“If you have the opportunity like I did, to invest in your community, then it’s one of the greatest investments I’ve ever made,” he said. “In some ways it feels dutiful. Other times I feel proud. ... but ultimately, I'm doing it because I want to, not because I have to.”

The move comes at a time when local media outlets across the country face shrinking resources, shifting audiences and increased competition from digital platforms.

Chappelle said stations like WYSO serve as a stabilizing force. He described it as “a beacon for sanity,” offering “a solid baseline of truth in context” in an increasingly fragmented information landscape.

“I grew up listening to WYSO since high school, and they’ve always been here connecting to the people,” said Mark Willis, a Yellow Springs resident. “They’re not out of a big city. They’re not subject to censorship by a sponsor. They tell the truth, they tell the stories, and it’s rare these days. To see them growing instead of shrinking is beautiful.”

Rather than simply donate funds, Chappelle financed the redevelopment of the building itself, allowing the station to remain locally rooted while maintaining editorial independence.

“Dave has never made a suggestion about our programming,” said Luke Dennis, general manager at WYSO. He said the new facility transforms how the station connects with the public, offering performance space, gathering areas and expanded capacity for programming.

“We belong to the community,” Dennis said.

Public radio stations in smaller markets have faced mounting pressure in recent years, from funding challenges to audience fragmentation.

Dennis said the investment positions WYSO differently. “We’re in a place of strength,” he said.

Yellow Springs has long been central to Chappelle’s life. Though he grew up in Maryland, he spent summers in the village, where his late father worked as the dean of students at Antioch College.

Now living on a 39-acre farm with his wife and their three children, Chappelle has become deeply embedded in the town. He has invested in local properties, opened a comedy club in the downtown area and hosted events that draw national attention, including performances in a nearby cornfield during the pandemic.

Chappelle has also taken an active role in local affairs, speaking at town meetings and supporting community initiatives.

As residents gathered and later filtered through the restored building, the moment marked more than a ribbon-cutting.

“I'm more determined and inspired that these institutions flourish and stay of the people,” Chappelle said after the ceremony. “The only way they can do that is the people supporting them. I'm hopeful more than worried."

Dave Chappelle does not like taking photos unless he approves of them. At many of his comedy events, he requires all attendees to leave cell phones in their vehicles or place them inside a pouch. He takes his art very seriously. The moment a cell phone camera is seen during his performance, he will abruptly stop and leave the stage.

He resides between Washington, DC and Yellow Springs, Ohio.

The comedian is controversial for his acts. He has driven criticism and praise for his comedy.

He faced criticism for comedy aimed at Israel, transgender Americans, former president Joe Biden and President Donald J. Trump.

He was praised for supporting Palestinians, Black Lives Matter, Duchess Meghan and Muslims.

In Yellow Springs, when you see Dave, treat him just like everyone else. He doesn't want to be looked as a major celebrity when he is spotted around Yellow Springs, Dayton or Cincinnati.

I was saving this for the Cash Fever series. Too bad the issue gotten worse for rapper Offset.

Kairi Cephus is a 34 year old rapper, producer and media personality who was formerly part of the hip-hop group The Migos. 

Offset along with Quavo and Takeoff were from Lawrenceville, Georgia but aligns with Atlanta's southern rap scene.

He is the father of six children. Three of his children comes from his former wife, rapper Cardi B. She has him on a restraining order and he has a court order for child support.

He also is struggling. Offset left Quality Control Music to run solely as a Capitol and Motown Records artist.

Offset is really finding himself in some financial issues. His friends and former allies believe he has a huge vice problem. Besides the women, the alcohol, the weed and the failure to commit to doing his job as an entertainer, he has a gambling problem.

A drinking problem. A sexual problem. A lot of anger issues.

Again, it's not my business to worry what people do in their private lives. However, it is newsworthy to find out why the rapper was shot in Hollywood, Florida.

Most who often play are either a family member, co-worker or friend who has a gambling addiction.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Offset confirmed that the rapper was in stable condition, but his exact condition was unknown. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

“Offset has been released from the hospital and he is up and walking,” a representative for Offset said on Friday. “We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him.”

The rapper shared his own statement on social media Friday, writing, “Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good….but I’m planning to be better! I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music…realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses...”

Lil Tjay is county lockup on aggrevated assault with a deadly weapon.

“Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win,” he concluded.

Earlier this week, officers detained two people. The rapper Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested in connection with the altercation that occurred before the shooting, the Seminole Police Department in Florida said. He was charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

The second person detained at the scene has not been charged and investigators were working to identify others involved, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, launched his career with Migos, one of the most popular hip-hop groups of all time. The Atlanta trio is celebrated for their rapid-fire triplet flow, an often-imitated delivery that changed the trajectory of trap.

The group had several multiplatinum selling singles, including “Bad and Boujee,” which went No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Stir Fry,” and “Narcos.” Migos released four full-length albums across their career.

More than three years ago, Offset’s cousin Takeoff, another member of Migos, was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley.

As a solo artist known for his idiosyncratic style — a melodic, aggressive finesse — Offset has released three full-length albums.

He was also previously married to the rapper Cardi B. The pair were secretly wed in September 2017 in Atlanta. In 2024, Cardi B announced that she filed for divorce. They have three children together.

If Trump Can Get Away With It....

Democrats will throw candidates under the bus for allegations. Republicans will elect them even if they're convicted felons, sexual predators and seditionists.

Again, Democrats are their own worst enemy. They rather cancel people than focus on the issues that matter. While I don't give two fucks who becomes governor of California, I know about eight of the candidates are pro Israel. There is no convictions or indictments.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), a frequent target of the Trump Administration, Fox and the far right is once again hog tied in a scandal. 

Remember he said he will not take AIPAC money.

He ran for president in 2019-2020. He is a frequent guest on progressive radio, CNN and MS NOW.

As he is leading in the campaign for governor in a packed jungle primary, the ops got to him. 

Does Israel, Roger Stone, Republicans and Tom Steyer ring a bell? 

They were his biggest threats besides the Republican lightweights Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco and far right British American agitator Steve Hilton.

Having sex with anyone who intoxicated is a huge risk. Many inebriated people make decisions that cause cognitive issues. If a woman or man is drunk and has sex with a random stranger or the victims is too drunk to make decisions, many see it as sexual assault under the guise of consent. People who engage with drunk people often take a risk of an allegation of sexual abuse, theft or murder.

It is best to allow the drunk person to detoxify by letting them sleep in their filth. Bars and restaurants have the legal obligation to not allow drinks to people inebriated.

Also, if you leave your drink unattended, make sure you throw it away. 

Again, heresy not an indictment or conviction.

In a stunning political reversal, prominent supporters of Swalwell’s campaign for California governor withdrew their support Friday after the congressmember denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman twice, including when she worked for him.

Swalwell was among the leading Democrats in the race to replace outgoing Gov. Gavin Newsom. But in just hours, he saw his most prominent supporters - including U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff and powerful labor unions - drop their endorsements and call for his exit from the race.

Newsom, a likely 2028 presidential candidate who has avoided engaging in the contest to replace him, said in a statement: “As we continue to learn more, these allegations from multiple sources are deeply troubling and must be taken seriously.”

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who hasn’t endorsed in the race, said the “serious allegations” must be investigated.

“As I discussed with Congressman Swalwell, it is clear that is best done outside of a gubernatorial campaign,” she said in social media posted by her staff.

The allegations surfaced at a critical stage of the wide-open campaign to lead the nation’s most populous state. The exodus of support threatened to cripple Swalwell’s campaign, less than a month before voters receive mail ballots in advance of the June 2 election.

Many claim Roger Stone has a role in the women making allegations against Swalwell.

This turmoil in the race came after the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday that a woman said Swalwell sexually assaulted her in 2019 and 2024. The newspaper reviewed text messages about the alleged 2024 assault and spoke to people whom she had told about it. She told the newspaper she did not go to police because she was afraid she would not be believed.

The woman worked for Swalwell in 2019 when the first alleged assault occurred, and the 2024 assault allegedly occurred after a charity gala, the newspaper reported. She said in both cases she was too intoxicated to consent to sex.

Tara Reade all over again. 

Again, I take all allegations seriously but this is a timing issue like when Reade tried to force a scandal to Ryan Grim as Joe Biden was considered the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. She eventually left the United States and gained sanctuary in Russia. 

The Republicans dropped her like a bad cold. I still have disdain for Grim despite agreeing with him on Israel having too much influence in U.S. politics.

Swalwell would be outside of his wife when these allegations occurred. It is hard to prove since these allegations run in 2019 and most recently 2024.

Seems like its an op. Because if she was sexually assaulted during his 2020 presidential bid (later House reelection bid), how come this didn't come to light as he declared his bid?

I am not dismissing it. I am totally done with this moral high ground cancel culture bullshit. Democrats need to get the facts before they start burning at the stake.

Swalwell denied the woman’s account and suggested they were part of an attack due to his campaign’s momentum.

“These allegations are false and come on the eve of an election against the frontrunner for governor,” Swalwell said in a statement. “For nearly 20 years, I have served the public — as a prosecutor and a congressman and have always protected women. I will defend myself with the facts and where necessary bring legal action. My focus in the coming days is to be with my wife and children and defend our decades of service against these lies.”

The paper didn’t name the woman, and The Associated Press has not been able to independently verify her account and identity. Her lawyer declined to comment.

The woman received a cease-and-desist letter from Swalwell’s attorney, the Chronicle reported. The attorney, Elias Debaie, confirmed he sent out at least one letter and called the allegations “baseless.”

Swift backlash from prominent Democrats

On Friday afternoon, Schiff said in a social media post he’s “deeply distressed” by the allegations, calling for Swalwell to end his gubernatorial bid.

Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez, who helped run Swalwell’s campaign, said he’s immediately ending his role.

“The congressman should leave the race now so there can be full accountability without doubt, distraction, or delay,” Gomez said on social media.

Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego and California Rep. Adam Gray also said they’re yanking their support. Mark Ramos, who heads the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, called on Swalwell to end his campaign.

Powerful labor unions, including the California Service Employees International Union and the California Teachers Association, said they’re suspending their support. The California Federation of Labor Unions said it’s “acting urgently” on next steps.

A spokesperson for House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries said the allegations require a “serious and thorough investigation.”

“These brave women must be heard and respected,” spokeswoman Christie Stephenson said in a statement. “It is imperative that the investigation follow the facts, apply the law and take place immediately.”

President Donald J. Trump, Erika Kirk and Republican lawmakers have scandals out the ass. Yet, Republicans will continue backing them regardless.

Growing calls for Swalwell to drop out

Uncorroborated and nonspecific rumors that Swalwell behaved inappropriately with female staffers have circulated on social media for weeks, but the Chronicle’s story is the first reported account of someone making a direct accusation. At a Tuesday campaign event in Sacramento, he told reporters he’s never had a sexual relationship with a staff member or intern.

CNN also reported that several women accused Swalwell of sending them inappropriate sexual messages.

Swalwell earlier this week announced a series of campaign functions he’s planned around the state, but canceled the scheduled event Thursday in Palm Springs.

Swalwell is among several leading Democrats in the crowded field to replace outgoing Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, and he immediately came under pressure from all other Democratic rivals to withdraw from the race.

Tara Reade accepts an award in Moscow. This woman alleged Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in the 1990s. She fled to Russia claiming that the U.S. Justice Department was investigating her. She claimed Biden sicced the DOJ on her. The allegations were in 2020. The Trump Administration and his DOJ had an open inquiry.

Swalwell, originally from Iowa, was elected in 2012 and represents a House district east of San Francisco. He launched a presidential run in April 2019 but shuttered it a few months later after failing to catch on with voters. Swalwell, who is married and has three children, is perhaps best known nationally as a House manager in President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial during his first term in early 2021.

Yet, President Donald J. Trump is a convicted felon, an adjudicated sexual predator, a seditionist, a habitual liar, a sundowning geezer and twice impeached president won.

He won in 2016 and 2024. In 2024, he won the popular vote. The first time in over 20 years. The last Republican to win the popular vote was George W. Bush.

California itself makes up the seventh in economic strength. The U.S. is ranked fourth.

Gavin Newsom, the current governor is hinting a run as well as former vice president Kamala Harris who both are from California. However, their support of Israel will doom them.

Trump, Rupert Murdoch, Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison and Vince McMahon are rich, powerful sexual predators. They have the billions to scrub away their deviant behavior.

Me. Swelwell, Hasan Piker, Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), Kristi Noem, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and so many others could be destroyed because of a sex scandal. The personal problems do not put food on people's plates. It does bring paychecks home.

Personal business is not government business. Since when does my focus got to be on the "he said, she said stuff?"

We are practically buried alive by all this chaos by that 79 year old crumungon president.

Whether Swalwell stays in the race or not is depending on the voters. If they care more about this than lowering grocery prices, lowering gas prices, fixing bridges, stopping wildfires, make Hollywood to film capital of the world, fixing potholes, stopping gun violence, save the water infrastructure and stopping the chaos of Trump, vote for that.

Enough with these neverending distractions.

Noem told The Independent the claims in the report were “not all true.” He did not elaborate when asked for more information.

The 56-year-old was reported to have been in an on-off relationship online with Shy Sotomayor, a 30-year-old sex worker known as Raelynn Riley, since 2016, she claimed in an interview with the Daily Mail, published Friday.

It is the latest in a series of exposés on the husband of the recently ousted Homeland Security Secretary, who has been keeping a low profile since the story broke last week.

Sotomayor shared recordings of phone calls and screenshots of messages she said she exchanged with Bryon Noem, where he said she was “so much better” than his wife. He also expressed wanting to transition to become a woman, the messages showed.

In one recent message, the South Dakota insurance boss said he wanted to change his name to Crystal “so bad,” and that he wanted plastic surgery. “I want to be your trans bimbo bitch,” the messages showed.

Sotomayor, from Colorado Springs, is the second online model to go public about her interactions with Bryon Noem after Nicole Raccagno—whose Instagram name is “plastictrophybimbo”— previously told the Mail that he was in love with her.

Bryon Noem made similar declarations to Sotomayor, she said, and in one message told her, “I can see us leaving our spouses for each other.”

Sotomayor said she first connected with Bryon Noem in 2016 but he cut off contact “abruptly” in 2020, around the time that his wife was elected governor of South Dakota, where she ran on a platform of conservative Christian values.

The thrill is gone.

She did not learn his true identity until they reconnected in October 2025, she said, where he “just popped back into my life like a little groundhog.”

“Is it because of everything going on right now with ICE?” Sotomayor asked.

“And life,” Bryon Noem replied.

On January 31, the model said she asked Bryon Noem how he could be with his wife in light of her aggressive immigration crackdown and that she was “unlikable.”

“I do like my wife and I know you don't,” he replied.

“She's a good person,” Bryon Noem reportedly said in defense of his wife. “You are amazing though,” he added, in reference to Sotomayor.

Sotomayor claimed she pressed the husband how he could be with his wife “after everything she’s done.”

“He urged her not to believe everything she reads in the news,” the Mail reported, adding that he mused having a phone call with Sotomayor that night.

“Can talk to you tonight, but I will regret it tomorrow,” he said. “Because I'm still with her.”

Kristi Noem was said to be barely showing up for her new role at the State Department after being ousted by Trump in March, the Mail reported Thursday.

Trump went after big-name conservative media figures Thursday over their criticism of his handling of the war in Iran, calling some of his former allies “low IQ," “losers” and "nut jobs."

“They’re losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA,” Trump wrote on Truth Social before dishing out personal insults.

"They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!" he wrote.

He said Carlson "should see a good psychiatrist," called Owens "crazy," described Jones as saying "some of the dumbest things” and referred to Kelly as having "nastily" asked him about his past remarks about comedian Rosie O'Donnell.

Owens responded by posting a screenshot of Trump’s post on X and writing, “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.”

“Trump’s mad that he’s wrong. He’s mad that he got set up by Israel," Jones said on his show.

"Once a man, twice a child,” he added. “This is dementia.”

Spokespeople for Carlson and Kelly did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In the past week, Carlson, a former Fox host, called on U.S. military aides to reject plans to kill Iranian civilians, while Owens, the former communications director of Turning Point USA, said the Trump administration was “satanic” and urged Congress to “have the Mad King Trump removed.”

Kelly, a former Fox host and NBC News anchor, said on her podcast this week that she was “sick of this s---,” adding, "You don’t just threaten to wipe out an entire civilization.” On his show, Jones, the right-wing conspiracy theorist, called for Trump to be removed through the 25th Amendment.

Their comments, which intensified after Trump threatened to wipe out Iranian civilization, underscore a growing schism within Trump’s base over the Iran war, particularly after he campaigned on "no new wars."

In his post, Trump said his former supporters in conservative media like Carlson and the others are “not ‘MAGA.’”

"MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons," he said. "MAGA is about MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and these people have no idea how to do that."

Afrika Bambaataa Passed Away!

Afrika Bambaataa dies from cancer.

Hip-Hop legends die but their music last forever. So in the honors of golden age, there lies Afrika Bambaataa. Also lies the scandals that tarnished the legacy.

He may be one of the first hip-hop pioneers in the LGBTQ community. 

Afrika Bambaataa, a man widely considered one of the main pioneers of hip-hop, died in Pennsylvania of prostate cancer on Thursday, according to his lawyer. He was 68.

Bambaataa’s sudden death was met with an outpouring of condolences from friends, family and fans across the world, who paid tribute to his profound and unmistakable impact on one of the world’s most popular and politically influential music genres. But others have said that his impact was overshadowed in recent years after numerous men who knew Bambaataa when they were boys accused him of sexual abuse.

The rapper and producer is best known for breakthrough tracks like 1982’s “Planet Rock” and for founding the Universal Zulu Nation art collective.

“Hip Hop will never be the same without him -- but everything hip hop is today, it is because of him. His spirit lives in every beat, every cypher and every corner of this globe he touched,” his talent agency, Naf Management Entertainment, wrote in an emailed statement on Tuesday.

The birthplace of hip hop

Bambaataa was Lance Taylor born in 1957 in the South Bronx, and he came of age at a time when the New York City neighborhood was rapidly deteriorating after intensifying segregation and years of economic neglect. By the 1970s and 1980s, landlords were burning apartment buildings to collect insurance money instead of investing in repairs, leaving low-income mostly Puerto Rican and Black families without socioeconomic opportunity.

Bambaataa had Jamaican and Barbadian heritage, and he was raised in a low-income public housing complex by his mother, according to an interview he gave Frank Broughton in 1998. He was exposed to music at an early age through his mother’s vinyl record collection.

He also was one of the first DJs to use beat breaks, incorporating the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine.

“We was playin’ everything, everything that was funky,” he said. He later added that what set his parties apart was that “other DJs would play they great records for fifteen, twenty minutes. We was changing ours every minute or two. I couldn’t have no breakbeat go longer than a minute or two.”

At that time, Bambaataa said in previous interviews that he was able to leverage his affiliation with the local street gang the Black Spades in order to form a group he called the Zulu Nation, a nod to a South African ethnic group that he drew inspiration from. His slogan eventually became known as “peace, love, unity and having fun,” and he said that he sought to use hip-hops’ ballooning popularity to resolve local gang conflicts.

Later, Bambaataa changed the name to the Universal Zulu Nation to signal the inclusion of “all people from the planet earth.”

“At the core our music made people feel like they belong to a movement and not a moment, our music offered Hope something positive to believe in, it gave people identity, unity, and a way out,” Ellis Williams, a producer known as Mr. Biggs, wrote in an email to the AP. Mr. Biggs was a member of the group Afrika Bambaataa and Soulsonic Force that included Bambaataa.

Accused of sexual abuse

In recent years, numerous people have accused Bambaataa of sexual abuse.

In 2016, Bronx political activist and former music industry executive Ronald Savage accused Bambaataa of abusing him in 1980, when he was Savage was a young teen.

“I was scared, but at the same time I was like, ’This is Afrika Bambaataa,’ ” Savage told the AP in 2016. At the time he recalled, in detail, that encounter and four others that he said followed.

Bambaataa has vehemently denied those allegations.

After Savage went public with his claims, numerous other men came forward to share similar experiences about Bambaataa. In June 2016, the Universal Zulu Nation released a public letter apologizing to “the survivors of apparent sexual molestation by Bambaataa” saying that some members of the group knew about the abuse but “chose not to disclose” it.

“We extend our deepest and most sincere apologies to the many people who have been hurt,” organization wrote.

While the president is dealing with the blowback of his aggression towards Iran, the first lady made the whole situation worse.

First Lady Melania Trump made statements about Jeffrey Epstein which pushes the story back on her and President Donald J. Trump's ties to the world’s most notorious pedophile.

Oh, former attorney general Pam Bondi will invoke executive privilege to avoid a congressional subpoena. Bondi slow walked the release of the Epstein files. 

Only 40% of the documents were released and the president's name was redacted.

Israel was redacted. Many of the people named in the files are not under criminal investigation. Again, taking pictures with Epstein or going to his island is not a crime.

Whatever those victims name are the ones who face the music when the U.S. Justice Department hands out indictments. 

The president will risk it but expect pardons of many of these figures. 

She is denying ties to Jeffrey Epstein and knowledge of his sex crimes, saying Thursday that the “stories are completely false” and calling accusations that she was somehow involved “smears about me.”

Reading an extraordinary statement at the White House, Melania Trump said she and her attorneys were fighting back against “unfound and baseless lies” in regards to her connections to the late financier, a convicted sex offender who leveraged connections to the rich, powerful and famous to recruit his victims and cover up his crimes.

“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” she said. “The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”

The seemingly out-of-the-blue message came as her husband, President Donald Trump, and his administration had finally seemed to move past more than a year of controversy surrounding Epstein, especially as the Iran war had become all-consuming in Washington.

The first lady’s comments almost assuredly will serve to push the story back into the political spotlight even as the president urged the public and media to move on from the case.

Nick Clemens, a spokesperson for the first lady, said the West Wing was aware beforehand that she was making a statement. But he deferred to the West Wing on whether the content of what Melania Trump planned to say was known. The White House press office did not respond to requests for comment.

Calls for a congressional hearing for Epstein victims

The first lady spoke for about five minutes, reading her statement in the Grand Foyer, then walked away without taking questions. She did not go into detail on the accusations against her, but said they came from “individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name.”

She added that they were financially and politically motivated.

The first lady also called on Congress to hold a public hearing centered on survivors of Epstein’s crimes, with a chance to testify before lawmakers and have their stories entered into the congressional record.

“Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes,” she said. “Then, and only then, we will have the truth.”

Two of Epstein’s accusers, Maria and Annie Farmer, said in a subsequent statement: “What we want is accountability, transparency, and justice.”

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican and onetime fierce Trump supporter who resigned from Congress after a public falling out with the president, posted on X, “I am grateful to the First Lady for her brave statement today about Epstein and his victims.”

Democrats, meanwhile, jumped on Melania Trump’s comments, saying they agreed with her call for a congressional hearing. In a social media post, Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee that is investigating Epstein, called on the Republican chair of the committee, Rep. James Comer, to schedule a public hearing “immediately.”

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., who sponsored a bill prompting the release of millions of Epstein documents, turned attention back to the Justice Department, saying it’s the attorney general’s job to bring in survivors for testimony. Massie, who has pressed for more arrests in the Epstein case, ended a social media post with a call to “PROSECUTE!”

Questions about Epstein’s reach have loomed over the administration and divided Republicans, driving a wedge into Trump’s MAGA base as some pressed for the government to release more files and prosecute figures linked to the financier.

The issue has dogged Trump and fractured some of his alliances, including the one with Greene. Trump dismissed the issue as a “Democrat hoax” but later signed a bill to release files from Epstein’s case.

It was not clear what prompted the first lady to revive the issue. She noted that several individuals and organizations have had to apologize for their “lies about me.” Of the examples she cited, the most recent was in October.

In that case, book publisher HarperCollins UK apologized to the first lady and retracted passages from a book suggesting Epstein played a role in introducing her and Donald Trump.

Melania Trump mentioned her husband several times in her comments. She said Epstein did not introduce her to Trump, and that she met her future husband at a New York City party in 1998.

Email to Maxwell was ‘trivial’

The first lady brought Epstein back to the forefront months after federal authorities released millions of pages of documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the law enacted after months of public and political pressure that requires the government to open its files on the late financier and his confidant and onetime girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Lawmakers complained when the Justice Department made only a limited release last month, but officials said more time was needed to review additional documents that were discovered and to ensure no sensitive information about victims was released.

Melania Trump said Thursday that she was not friends with Epstein or Maxwell, but was in overlapping social circles in New York and Florida. She described an email reply she sent to Maxwell as “casual correspondence” without elaborating.

“My polite reply to her email doesn’t amount to anything more than a trivial note,” she said.

Among the documents released by the Justice Department was a brief email from 2002 with the sender and recipient blacked out. It begins, “Dear G!” and ends “Love, Melania,” and compliments the recipient on a magazine article about “JE.”

“I know you are very busy flying all over the world,” it says. “How was Palm Beach? I cannot wait to go down. Give me a call when you are back in NY.”

That email was sent the same month that a New York Magazine article was published about Epstein in which Trump called him a “terrific guy.”

Among other documents released was an image from Epstein’s home showing a series of photographs along a credenza and in drawers. In that image, inside a drawer among other photos, was a photograph of Trump, alongside Epstein, Melania Trump and Maxwell.

Epstein killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in New York. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of luring teenage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Candace Owens is trying to expose the widow, Erika Kirk. 

Kirk has been thrust into the spotlight as the widow. The president, vice president, Republicans and many of the far right have used his vile name as a rally cry to push more authoritarianism.

Owens and many others claim that her two children aren't Charlie's.

Christine Quinn said Erika Kirk is "everywhere but with her kids."

The TurningPoint USA organization continues to function without Charlie Kirk’s awful presence. However, it is facing internal problems and many are losing faith in how Erika runs the group.

Owens who previously worked for TurningPoint USA, PragerU and The Daily Wire has declared war on them. She has vowed to expose the Israeli influence taking over MAGA.

Owens has openly stated she regrets voting for President Donald J. Trump.

Many online have started to question why Kirk isn't putting her children first. 

Charlie's parents aren't in the mix. Usually, everyone who was affected by Kirk's death should have a stake in TurningPoint USA. The online community believe that Erika locked out the parents.

Erika had hid her pregnancy and claimed it was a private matter. That raises speculation.

Candace Owens tells her supporters to question everything.

Rumors the parents wanted a paternity test issued. When the results came and it turned out to be not Charlie's, they abandoned the movement.

She had many relationships before meeting Kirk. 

They do not show the faces of their children. I get it. I respect the privacy matter to not let their children be put into their toxic brew. However, how Christian nationalist Kirk was, I don't understand why he would shield his children.

Owens has been very focused on Erika because she strongly believes that she is disingenuous about her relationship with her husband.

The infamous CBS News interview with Bari Weiss also had red flags.

I am almost happy to see the Dems infight too. Because Americans are fed up.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Got Bluer!

The Republicans are not pleased about the sleeper primary and special election to decide on the state of Wisconsin's Supreme Court.

President Donald J. Trump carried Wisconsin in 2016 and 2024. 

Former president Joe Biden carried it in 2020. Former president Barack Obama carried it in 2008 and 2012.

Wisconsin is your average majority white state. Whites make 65% of the populationm with a 10% indigenous population 8% Black, 10% Hispanic, 3% Asian and 7% biracial and 2% immigrant. 

Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Appleton, Janesville, Kenosha, Waukesha and Eau Claire are the largest cities in the state. Madison is the state capital.

Democratic-backed candidate Chris Taylor won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday, growing the liberal majority on the court as cases affecting congressional redistricting, union rights and other hot button issues await in the perennial battleground state.

Taylor, who focused her campaign on abortion rights, handily defeated Republican-backed Maria Lazar in the fourth straight victory for liberal court candidates dating back to 2020. Liberals are now guaranteed to hold a majority on the court until at least 2030.

“Once again, Wisconsin showed the entire nation that we believe that the people should be at the center of government and the priority of our judiciary, not the billionaires, not the most powerful and privileged, but the people,” Taylor said in her victory speech.

Wisconsin Republican Party Chair Brian Schimming, in the wake of Lazar’s double-digit defeat, called for Republicans to “stay united and continue fighting for our conservative values.”

Democrats tightened their control of the court just months before a November election in which they seek to keep the governor’s office and flip the state Legislature, where Republicans have held the majority since 2011. Democrats aspire to undo a host of Republican-enacted laws that made Wisconsin a focal point for the nation’s conservative movement in the 2010s.

This year’s Supreme Court election stands in stark contrast to the swing state’s previous two, where national spending records were set in battles over majority control. Spending and national attention was down dramatically this year without control of the court at stake.

Liberals took control of the state’s top court in 2023, ending 15 years under a conservative majority. They held onto their majority with last year’s victory in a race that drew involvement from President Donald Trump and billionaires George Soros and Elon Musk, who personally handed out $1 million checks to voters in the state.

Liberals argued that democracy was at stake in the 2025 election, noting that when the court was controlled by conservative justices in 2020 it came just one vote shy of siding with Trump in his attempt to invalidate enough votes to overturn his loss in that year’s presidential election.

The court under liberal control has reversed several election-related rulings, including one that overturned a ban on absentee ballot drop boxes, and it is poised to once again be in the spotlight around the 2028 presidential election.

Races for the court are officially nonpartisan, but support for candidates breaks down mostly along partisan lines. The seat was open due to the retirement of a conservative justice.

Maria Lazar, backed by Trump lost to Chris Taylor. She will become the fifth Wisconsin Supreme Court member.

Taylor, who is a state Appeals Court judge and previously worked for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, focused much of her campaign on abortion rights. One of her TV ads argued that “abortion is on the ballot.” In another ad, she criticized Lazar for calling the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 “very wise.”

Lazar, who is also a state Appeals Court judge and was supported by anti-abortion groups in her run for that court, tried to brand Taylor as nothing more than a politician who will push a partisan agenda on the high court.

They sparred over each other’s partisanship during the campaign’s sole debate last week.

Lazar accused Taylor of being a “radical, extreme legislator” and a “judicial activist.” Taylor said that Lazar would bring “an extreme, right-wing political agenda to the bench.”

But she had a much harder time getting her message out. Taylor had a large fundraising advantage and spent about nine times as much as Lazar on television ads, based on a tally by the Brennan Center for Justice.

The liberal-controlled court has already struck down a state abortion ban law and ordered new legislative maps since taking control of the court, fueling Democrats’ hopes of capturing a majority this November.

Taylor has been a judge since 2020 and before that spent 10 years as a Democrat representing the liberal capital city of Madison in the state Assembly.

Lazar, a judge since 2015, previously worked four years under a Republican attorney general in the state Department of Justice. In that role, she defended a law enacted under former Republican Gov. Scott Walker that effectively ended collective bargaining for most public workers.

A circuit court judge ruled in December that the law is unconstitutional, a decision expected to ultimately land before the state Supreme Court.

Lazar also defended laws passed by Republicans and signed by Walker implementing a voter ID requirement and restricting abortion access.

Democrats had been optimistic given the past two Supreme Court elections, which saw candidates they backed winning by double digits.

Another conservative justice is retiring next year, giving liberals a chance to take 6-1 control of the court thanks to Taylor’s victory.

Clay Fuller Wins MTG Seat!

I knew he was toast when he said "I am not going to be...."

Shawn Harris once again falls to the Republican in the special election to replace the controversial Marjorie Taylor Greene. 

Rep-elect Clay Fuller (R-GA) won the run off special election with 52% of the vote.

Fuller, backed by President Donald J. Trump did not perform with the high figures but a win is win.

Harris said he respects his runoff election loss to Fuller and remains optimistic as he continues campaigning for the full two-year congressional term.

“Whoever would’ve thought that this race would be this close in a ruby red district,” Harris told Local 3 moments after learning he’d lost.

Harris made gains from his 2024 general election loss to then- Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Supporters said they remain optimistic, with Harris running unopposed in the May 19 Democratic primary.

“Having made these kinds of gains in this district is very positive,” said Deborah Wiengar, who started volunteering with Harris in January.

Another supporter, Marcella London, said she wants more people to get to the polls in the primary and then the general election.

“Get out in November cause he’s a leadership man, and he’s going to guide us and straighten out the White House,” London said.

Harris said he remains focused on issues impacting Northwest Georgians as he begins his next campaign.

“Northwest Georgia right now is dealing with PFAS,” he said, “That is our thing that we all have in common. It runs from Dalton to Rome, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.”

If elected, Harris said he would only serve three terms, or six years.

Perennial alert. Shawn Harris is running for the two year House term in November.

Despite the presidential endorsement going to Fuller, Harris said he would support Trump when he agrees with him. He cited the crackdown at the southern border as a point of agreement but said he disagrees with immigration enforcement operations led by ICE.

Harris cast doubts that he will face Fuller if both advance to the November general. He said he believes he could face former State Sen. Colton Moore, who came in third place in the March 10th election.

“He’s [Fuller] in a primary, and it’s not guaranteed just because he beat me tonight that he’s going to beat somebody in that primary come May, so I have to have myself prepared,” Harris said.

Harris appeared on MS NOW saying he will only focus on the issues that centrist Democrats support. Especially the fucking apartheid genocidal ethnostate of Israel.

That right there cost him.

Democrats are not listening and this the end game.

Harris wants to be the status quo, middle of the road, not looking for a fight Democrat.

Dealing with a fascist is not middle ground. Democrats want unapologetic fighters.

Greene who refused to back any of them criticized Fuller as an America Last/Israel First politician. She is right.

Both Harris and Fuller care more about Israel than the fucking district Greene finally paid attention to until her abrupt resignation. The reason she resigned was the president resending his endorsement of her. Trump and Greene had a fallout over Israel, the Jeffrey Epstein files, falling behind on the America First agenda, the massive debt spending as well as his support for endless wars.

The U.S. and Iran agreed to a two week ceasefire. That means the U.S. is likely going to pay for the damages it inflicted on Iran since the start of this aggression. This aggression has put a major dent in the world economy and weakened the U.S. standing.

Israel will continue attacking Iran despite a ceasefire.
