A brutal incident involving a motorist and five Black Memphis Police officers led to a death. The five officers are being criminally charged with second-degree murder and the release of the body camera and dash camera will incite residents.
The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The death of 29-year old Tyre Nichols has sparked national outrage and rings echos of George Floyd.
His death was a lynching and it was a systematic pattern of abuse by police.
Will Republicans get their heads out their asses and help Democrats pass policing reform?
No.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) already calls Black Lives Matter a terrorist group.
Anyway, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Bill Lee, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) and the U.S. Representatives of Tennessee are aware of the situation. Lee has activated the National Guard for potential unrest upon the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Shelby County prosecutor's release of the graphic video.
His parents saw the video and said it was too horrific.
Part 1 - The incident.
Part 2 - The video (next posting)
These five cops are suspects to murder.
On Jan. 7, the five Memphis Police officers stopped Nichols on suspicion of reckless driving. Between a brief confrontation, the motorist ended up in a coma. He died three days after that.
The Memphis Police had fired the five dirty cops. The Shelby County Prosecutor officially charged the former cops and they are now held in county lockup (some on suicide watch).
Police alleged that he was pulled over for reckless driving. He was reportedly about 250 feet (75 m) from his home at the time. According to police, after an initial confrontation with police, Nichols fled on foot. A second confrontation occurred when officers caught up to him and tried to arrest him. Following the confrontations, Nichols complained of shortness of breath. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition, succumbing to his injuries on January 10. Relatives of Nichols claimed the officers involved were in an unmarked vehicle and that he experienced cardiac arrest and kidney failure because of officers beating him. A cause of death has not been released.
The suspects: Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith were charged with second-degree murder, official misconduct, aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
The former cops have three to six years of experience. All were members of SCORPION, a group of about 50 officers assembled a year earlier to deal with the high number of serious crimes. The officers ride unmarked cars and wear plainclothes with a bullet-proof vest marked POLICE.
District Attorney Steve Mulroy contacted the TBI to look at allegations regarding excessive use of force during the arrest. On Jan. 15, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) announced the officers involved would face administrative action. The Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also opened an investigation.
On January 20, the MPD announced that the five officers involved – Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith – would be fired.
Police Chief Cerelyn Davis said the actions of the officers involved was "a failing of basic humanity". Davis later said that after watching footage of the incident, she was "confused" on why the officers were so aggressive, and it was "still very unclear" why the officers conducted a traffic stop on Nichols.
By January 24, two Memphis Fire EMTs who were in the ambulance were relieved of duty.
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland said video footage of the incident would be released later in January, first to Nichols's family and then to the public once the police department's internal investigation is finished and the family has reviewed the footage. Nichols's family attorneys who saw the footage said it reminded them of the beating of Rodney King, and that the officers had used Nichols as a "human piƱata".
California has a jungle primary. It means that the two top candidates will face off in the general, regardless of label. That means if two Democrats are the top finishers, they will be on the ballot in the general election.
So far, three Democrats are vying for the seat of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) who is progressive African American that represents Oakland and parts of Alameda County. She has not announced her bid yet.
Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) who is progressive lawmaker that represents Irvine and parts of Los Angeles County and Orange County.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) now in. He represents parts of Los Angeles County which includes Los Angeles, Burbank, Pasadena and Hollywood.
The 2024 race is quickly emerging as a marquee Senate contest, even though the 89-year-old Feinstein, the oldest member of Congress, has yet to announce if she will seek another term, though her retirement is widely expected. Schiff is jumping in two weeks after Porter became the first candidate to declare her campaign for the safe Democratic seat.
I don't have a clear choice in the race so it would be interesting that Feinstein announces her bid to run and all three of them lose. If they lose, only Porter's seat has the risk of being a Republican gain.
Schiff who was a part of the first impeachment of Washed Up 45 and member of the Jan. 6 House Committee is vilified regularly on Fox (especially by Softball Hannity).
He was stripped of his committee assignments by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Droopy Dog of leadership.
Schiff, a former federal prosecutor, made clear he intends to anchor his candidacy to his role as Washed Up 45’s chief antagonist in Congress. In his campaign kickoff video, he said the “biggest job of his life” was serving as impeachment manager, and he promised to continue to be a “fighter” for democracy.
“If our democracy isn’t delivering for Americans, they’ll look for alternatives, like a dangerous demagogue who promises that he alone can fix it,” Schiff said of Washed Up 45, who has announced his 2024 campaign for the presidency.
Feinstein, a former San Francisco mayor who joined the Senate in 1992, told reporters in Washington this week that she will make a decision about 2024 in the “next couple of months."
The jockeying for the seat has created a politically awkward dynamic for Feinstein, who has broken gender barriers throughout her decadeslong career in local and national politics. In recent years, questions have arisen about her cognitive health and memory, though she has defended her effectiveness in representing a state that is home to nearly 40 million people.
Schiff, 62, said in an interview Thursday that he had spoken to Feinstein a day earlier to inform her about his plans.
“I want to make sure that everything I did was respectful of her and that I did so with her knowledge and her blessing,” Schiff told The Associated Press.
Asked if he was aware of the senator’s plans, Schiff said, “I don’t want to presume to speak for Sen. Feinstein, and I think she’s earned the right to announce her decision when she’s ready to make that announcement.”
Schiff was first elected to Congress in 2000 and represents parts of Hollywood. He has been a frequent target of conservatives — Washed Up 45 in particular — since the then-GOP-led House Intelligence Committee he served on started investigating the former president’s ties to Russia in the 2016 election. Schiff appeared frequently on television to question the former president’s actions.
That criticism intensified when Democrats took the House majority in early 2019 and he became the committee chair, and it reached a full-on roar with his role in the impeachment investigation of Washed Up 45’s dealings with Ukraine. The former president was impeached in December 2019 on charges he abused the power of the presidency to investigate rival Joe Biden and obstructed Congress’ investigation.
In an impassioned plea to the Senate in early 2020, Schiff urged Trump’s removal from office and framed the choice in moral terms. “If right doesn’t matter, we’re lost,” he said at the time.
“You know you can’t trust this president do what’s right for this country,” Schiff said. “You can trust he will do what’s right for Donald Trump. He’ll do it now. He’s done it before. He’ll do it for the next several months, he’ll do it in the election if he’s allowed to. This is why if you find him guilty you must find that he should be removed. Because right matters.”
The Republican-led Senate acquitted Trump of both charges. In 2021, he became the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice, this time for inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol after he lost the 2020 election. He was again acquitted by the Senate.
Republicans are still angry about Schiff’s starring role at the impeachment trial, with new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy accusing him of using his leadership position to “lie to the American public again and again.” McCarthy, R-Calif., said this week that he intended to block Schiff from continuing his service on the House Intelligence Committee.
Feinstein has not confirmed another run.
With the centrist Feinstein in the twilight of her career, the race in the heavily Democratic state already is shaping up as a showcase for an ambitious, younger generation on the party’s left wing.
Both Schiff and Porter are nationally recognized — Schiff through his leading impeachment role and Porter, a favorite of the party’s progressive wing, through her tough questioning of CEOs and other witnesses at congressional hearings. Each is also a formidable small-dollar fundraiser.
Neither has run statewide before, and each would face the challenge of becoming better known beyond their Southern California districts. Democrats are expected to dominate the contest — a Republican hasn’t won a statewide race in California since 2006, and the past two Senate elections had only Democrats on the November ballot.
Asked how he would stand out in what is expected to be a crowded field, Schiff said he would emphasize his central role of national struggles over democracy and the economy.
“I think that record of leadership, that record of staunch defense of our democracy, and the way that I’ve championed an economy that works for everyone, I think are a powerful record to run on,” he said.
In his announcement video, Schiff mixed shots of his family and highlights from his courtroom work with video from the impeachment proceedings and clips of Trump and other Republicans.
He warns that the threat of extremism is not over.
“Today’s Republican Party is gutting the middle class, threatening our democracy” Schiff says. “They aren’t going to stop. We have to stop them.”
The iconic image of a Jan. 6 insurrectionist who put his feet on the desk of then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is found guilty on all charges. He will get a lenghty bid.
Richard "Bigo" Barnett was unapologetic. He literally trying to make money off the image and tried to claim he was only looking for the restroom as he stormed the U.S. Capitol, vandalized Pelosi's office, urinated on her floor, took mail and left "Bigo was here, Nancy you bitch!" on a letter mast. He carried a machete and taser into the Capitol.
The jury found Barnett guilty on all eight counts in his indictment, including felony charges of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding.
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper is scheduled to sentence Barnett on May 3. The judge agreed to let Barnett remain free on certain conditions until his sentencing.
Outside the courthouse after the verdict, Barnett vowed to appeal his conviction, calling it an “injustice.” He noted that the judge had rejected his request to move his trial from Washington to Arkansas.
“This is not a jury of my peers,” he told reporters.
Prosecutors asked the judge to jail Barnett while he awaits sentencing. Justice Department prosecutor Alison Prout said the jury concluded that Barnett took a weapon into Pelosi’s office.
“We can only imagine what would have happened if (Pelosi) had been there at the time,” Prout said.
Barnett, 62, testified last Thursday that he was looking for a bathroom inside the Capitol when he unwittingly entered Pelosi’s office and encountered two news photographers. He said one of the photographers told him to “act natural,” so he leaned back in a chair and flung his legs onto the desk.
“Did it dawn on you that what you were doing could cause some trouble?” defense attorney Joseph McBride asked Barnett.
“I was just in the moment,” Barnett replied. “I’m just kind of going with the flow at this point.”
Barnett’s decision to testify was “unequivocally the right one,” his lawyer told reporters after the verdict.
“He had a story that needed to be told,” McBride said. “People needed to know why he came here, what his intentions were and what he did while he was here.”
Prosecutors said Barnett had a stun gun tucked into his pants when he stormed the Capitol and invaded Pelosi’s office. Barnett was convicted of entering and remaining in restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon — a stun gun with spikes concealed within a collapsible walking stick.
He won't be laughing when his ass is in federal time out.
Barnett took a piece of her mail and left behind a note that said, “Nancy, Bigo was here,” punctuating the message with a sexist expletive. The jury convicted of a theft charge for taking the envelope from Pelosi’s office.
Before leaving Capitol grounds, Barnett used a bullhorn to give a speech to the crowd, shouting, “We took back our house, and I took Nancy Pelosi’s office!” according to prosecutors.
Videos support Barnett’s testimony that a crowd pushed him into the Capitol as he approached an entrance, causing him to briefly fall to his knees as he crossed the threshold.
“We have no choice!” he shouted repeatedly as he entered the Capitol.
After police ordered him and others to leave Pelosi’s office, Barnett realized he had left his American flag behind. Body camera video captured Barnett shouting at a police officer in the Rotunda for help in retrieving the flag.
More than 940 people have been charged with federal crimes related to the Jan.6 attack. Nearly 500 of them have pleaded guilty. Barnett is one of several dozen Capitol riot defendants whose case has gone to trial.
Barnett is a retired firefighter from Gravette, Arkansas. He said he regrets coming to Washington for the “Stop the Steal” rally where Washed Up 45 addressed a crowd of supporters.
“Two years of lost life. Misery for my family,” he said.
While on house arrest last year, Barnett raised money by charging donors $100 for photos of him with his feet on a desk.
A prosecutor told jurors during the trial’s opening statements that Barnett planned the trip for weeks and came prepared for violence.
McBride told jurors that Barnett was just a “crazy guy from Arkansas” who didn’t hurt anybody on Jan. 6 and couldn’t have harmed anybody with the stun gun device because it was broken that day. McBride sarcastically called it “the most famous trespass case of all time.”
Prosecutors said Barnett had a history of arming himself at political demonstrations. In July 2020, they said, a 911 caller reported that a man matching Barnett’s description had pointed a rifle at her during a “Back the Blue” rally.
“Law enforcement ultimately closed the investigation as unfounded due to unresolved apparent discrepancies in the evidence,” prosecutors wrote.
In November 2020, police were called to a “Save the Children” rally when a caller said Barnett was carrying a gun at the protest and acting suspiciously.
Stefanik said Biden committed a crime while Pence made a mistake.
As expected, the Republicans show that they can't govern. They have neverending hypocrisy when it comes to investigations and accountability.
You know they're partisan when they refer to the Democratic Party as the pejorative "Democrat Party."
You know they are partisan when they refuse to say President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris while referring the formers as the president and vice president.
Rep. George Santos (R-NY) faces more controversy but House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the Droopy Dog of Leadership refuses to boot him off committees and expel him from Congress.
Former Vice President Mike Pence had classified documents at his Indiana home, House Republican chair, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) quickly dismissed it as a "nothing burger."
Stefanik pivoted to Hunter Biden and vowed to get more answers to why Biden had classified documents as then vice president. I smell that the Republicans are going to go after former president Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former FBI director James Comey and Biden official John Kerry.
They will go after the FBI, Homeland Security, big tech and civil rights groups.
The do nothing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a frequent regular on Fox who is considering another run for president said is best about Republicans and Biden:
"Oh look, the Mike Pence story, it’s still early. You know, Mike Pence, as you noted he is a good friend, he’s a good man. He’s explained where these came from, what his office has put out is that in packing up the vice presidential offices that there were a couple of papers that were classified that were inadvertently put with non-classified materials. That was a mistake, but there’s no reason to think this was anything but inadvertent."
Pence had classified documents too.
Cruz added, "That is very different from what Joe Biden has done. Joe Biden has given zero explanation how these classified documents got there. And in particular, he has given no explanation as to how he has documents from his time in the Senate."
The Pence classified document revelation came just as Republicans in Congress were digging in on Biden, painting the president as careless and possibly jeopardizing sensitive information.
But similarities between how Pence and Biden each handled their respective cases, with lawyers quickly notifying the Justice Department and National Archives, could blunt some of those GOP attacks against the White House.
Republicans won on the noise. They were screaming inflation, crime and border. It gave them a small majority.
So far, they have passed abortion bans, pushing for spending cuts to raise the debt ceiling, drafting impeachment for top Biden officials and banning transgender girls/women from playing women sports.
Comedian Maya Rudolph will be the official spokesperson for M&Ms. She will replace the iconic candy characters after backlash from Fox and far right extremists.
They try to will Leslie Jones her..... Trust me.
She is a Black comedian who rose to fame from her SNL days. She did celebrity impressions of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Fox notoriously ranted against Mars Incorporated, the company best known for M&Ms, Twix, Snickers and Combos snacks is under fire for its makeover of its M&M mascot spokescandies.
The Green M&M which was known for wearing platform go go boots was given sneakers and the extreme right went bonkers. The Brown M&M wore stiletto pumps at first but was given a lower heel and it set off alleged sexual predators Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters and Tucker Carlson.
Laura Ingraham also participated in the great candy culture war.
Sean "Softball" Hannity, another alleged sexual predator was too busy worrying about Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden to be concerned about candy.
The news comes three weeks before M&Ms is set to return to the Super Bowl with an ad after sitting it out last year. Mars hasn’t disclosed any other creative details about the ad.
The Super Bowl is advertising’s biggest stage, with big-name brands pulling out all the stops and paying millions for a 30-second ad in an effort to capture the attention of the more than 100 million viewers that watch the game live. Many spend millions more on marketing campaigns leading up to the big event.
Mars revamped the M&M candies last year. which are featured in red, green, orange, yellow, brown and blue, to give them more nuanced personalities. Some fans weren’t happy about the changes and took to social media to complain.
In a posting widely shared on social media on Monday, Mars said it was taking an “indefinite” pause on using the spokescandies.
“Now we get it — even a candy’s shoes can be polarizing,” the statement said. “Which was the last thing M&M’s wanted since we’re all about bringing people together.”
Mars didn’t say how long the pause would be for. Some likened the news to a publicity stunt that Planters tried in 2020 when it announced it was “killing off” its beloved spokescharacter Mr. Peanut ahead of the game.
Maya Rudolph is M&Ms new spokesperson.
“M&Ms announcing that they’re getting rid of long-standing and (mostly) beloved mascots because of peer pressure is newsworthy,” said Steve Merino, chief dreative director at ad agency Aloysius Butler & Clark. “That being said, many brands use their Super Bowl moment as a chance to pull a publicity stunt. Remember when Planters faked getting rid of Mr. Peanut? We’ll see if this is real, or just a thin candy shell.”
In Planters case, the ruse did not go seamlessly. Planters teased its Super Bowl ad nearly two weeks before the game, releasing a teaser that showed its Mr. Peanut mascot seemingly being killed. But when Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash, the marketing stunt suddenly seemed insensitive, so Planters paused its pre-game advertising. The actual Super Bowl ad was relatively inoffensive, with a baby Mr. Peanut appearing at the funeral. Planters is also returning to the Super Bowl this year for the first time since 2020, with an ad featuring Mr. Peanut.
The Super Bowl LVII will take place Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and will be broadcast on Fox.
The noise of the Florida Panhandle, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). There is a bombshell series of tweets from a whistleblower. She said there is a possible raid of his home and congressional office. Other allegations include him cheating and having sex with underage girls emerge.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) ain't the only one having a swinging lifestyle. She allegedly slept with numerous men while married. It appears House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) may have dipped in too. It was a rumor McCarthy slept with former North Carolina lawmaker Renee Ellmers.
It appears that Gaetz allegedly have numerous affairs with women and possibly a man.
Gaetz recently married his girlfriend in 2019.
Florida former health administrator turned whistleblower Rebekah Jones was reinstated to Twitter and she broke the news on the platform.
I've had some strange conversations with Matt Gaetz' former ppl over the last few months including the person who hosted his watch party.
The judge dismissed the restraining order because the parent of the minor child was a political figure and thus stalking the child could be considered "legitimate purpose" if framed in a political context. Judge also lambasted Gaetz, Hetu for their behavior & making "propaganda" pic.twitter.com/VW3wdmIGxd
Jones has a claim that Gaetz has been having an affair with a male staffer. He also hired a man who stalked a 12 year old boy, that both saw a sexual interest in. The boy and family placed a restraining order on the man.
Jones also believe that the FBI is going to do search of Gaetz's office, home and associates any day now.
Gaetz, a far right do nothing lawmaker from Florida was one of 25 members who held up the Speaker vote in early January. He along with ten other members of the Freedumb Caucasians got a rules change which now allows one member to protest for an ouster of a House Speaker.
Gaetz is under federal watch for alleged human trafficking of an underage girl.
Dan Harmon survived a scandal. Justin Roiland did not. The voice of Rick and Morty is out.
The co-creator and main voice of Adult Swim's hit animated comedy Rick and Morty is fired out the cannon. It appears the network is formally severing its ties and vowing to continue on despite the cannon firing.
Justin Roiland, who is the co-creator of the show, a script writer, voice of both mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith as well as 12 various characters was fired out the cannon after he was indicted on domestic violence charges.
The cable channel retweeted a statement from the official "Rick and Morty" Twitter account that it intends to continue with the show's seventh season but that it has "ended its association with Justin Roiland." Adult Swim confirmed the news in an emailed statement.
Justin Roiland voiced Rick and Morty. Spencer Grammar voiced Summer.
Roiland, who voices title characters Rick and Morty, will be recast, said Marie Moore, the senior vice president of communications at Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns Adult Swim.
NBC News broke the news that Roiland had been charged with felony domestic violence in Orange County, California, in connection with a 2020 incident.
Squanch Games, the video game company co-founded by Roiland, also announced Tuesday on Twitter that Roiland resigned.
"On January 16, 2023, Squanch games received Justin Roiland's resignation," the company posted. The company also sent the statement to NBC News in response to an inquiry on its relationship with Roiland.
Roiland pleaded not guilty in 2020 and was in court for a pretrial hearing on Jan. 12. In a statement, one of his attorneys wrote that Roiland is innocent and expects the case to be dismissed.
“We look forward to clearing Justin’s name and helping him move forward as swiftly as possible,” attorney T. Edward Welbourn wrote.
Roiland, 42, was charged with a felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and a felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.
How long will Rick and Morty last?
The criminal complaint says the incident occurred on or about Jan. 19, 2020, against a woman, identified as Jane Doe, who was dating Roiland at the time.
Details of the case, including police body camera video, police reports, abuse investigation reports, medical reports and recordings of interviews, are being withheld from the public under a protective order.
The affidavit in support of Roiland’s arrest is also sealed. Roiland was ordered at the pretrial hearing this month to attend a hearing April 27.
"Rick and Morty" debuted in December 2013 and quickly became one of the most popular adult-oriented cartoons, spawning a billion-dollar media and merchandising franchise. The show’s sixth season premiered in September, and Cartoon Network ordered a seventh season as part of a long-term deal for 70 new episodes.
What about George Santos? The Republicans are the party of integrity.
Listening to the bullshit of Sean "Softball" Hannity can be hazardous to Republicans.
Two Democratic lawmakers were removed from sub committees. The Republican House Speaker takes jab at them and "Democrat" leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
Using Democrat instead of Democratic is a pejorative.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) have an open feud with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
On Tuesday, McCarthy has formally booted them from serving on the House Intelligence Committee, escalating the two-year tit-for-tat battle between the parties over who is qualified for certain positions on Capitol Hill.
Minority Leader Jeffries had written to McCarthy on Saturday asking that both Schiff and Swalwell be seated on the Intel panel, where membership assignments come solely at the discretion of the Speaker.
But McCarthy said Schiff’s and Swalwell’s previous actions make them unfit to serve on a panel with jurisdiction over and access to sensitive issues of national security.
“In order to maintain a standard worthy of this committee’s responsibilities, I am hereby rejecting the appointments of Representative Adam Schiff and Representative Eric Swalwell to serve on the Intelligence Committee,” he wrote in a letter to Jeffries on Tuesday.
The move was no surprise.
Democratic lawmakers never called for violence or denied an election but they are booted off their committees.
Republicans have been up in arms over the issue since 2021, when Democrats staged votes to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) from their committees following revelations that they had promoted violence against some of their Democratic colleagues. The eviction votes came after McCarthy declined to punish either lawmaker internally within the GOP conference, which is typically where such disciplinary actions are meted out.
Still, McCarthy on Tuesday denied that his decision regarding Schiff and Swalwell was retribution for Greene and Gosar.
“This is not not anything political. This is not similar to what the Democrats did,” McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday evening just outside his office in the Capitol.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) faces a different situation. The House must vote on formal removal from the Foreign Affairs Committee. While McCarthy has the unilateral authority to block appointments to the Intelligence Committee, the full House must ratify committee membership for the Foreign Affairs panel — meaning a majority of the chamber will have to vote to block the congresswoman from serving.
Asked on Tuesday how confident he is that there will be enough support to block Omar from the Foreign Affairs panel, McCarthy told reporters that “it would be odd to me that members would not support that based upon her comments against Israel.”
Omar, a critic of the U.S.-Israeli alliance is often scapegoated. They make baseless claims that she supports terrorists.
Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) are the only Muslims serving in Congress.
Omar is often a target of death threats, baseless conspiracy theories and false accusations of anti-semitism.
The Speaker of the House has not responded to three mass shootings in his state.
The shootings in Oakland, Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park were deadly.
Gov. Gavin Newsom responded to the mass shootings and slammed McCarthy for not even once addressing them or visiting the victims.
Mind you it is a photo op and it won't convince McCarthy to change his stance on firearms but given three mass shootings in a span of 48 hours, you would think he would say something about it.
President Joe Biden, Washed Up 45 and now former vice president Mike Pence.
Calamity for Republicans. What will they find outrage at today?
Likely Biden. Because they refuse to deal with Jan. 6, 2021, gun violence and political extremism. They believe it hurts their chances in 2024. So why not have the country worry about inflation, high gas prices, the border, crime, critical race theory, groomers, protecting unborn fetuses, radical Islam, Antifa, transgender sports, cancel culture and big tech.
Republicans have singled out Biden for the classified documents and so far have no intentions of investigating the former president and former vice president.
They are under fire for having classified documents at their properties. Biden and Pence have cooperated with authorities. Washed Up 45 refused to do so, had his Mar-a-Lago resort searched, tried to get an inexperienced federal judge to stop the investigation, forced a special master, had an appeals court flat out tell the inexperienced judge that her decision was stupid and is under federal watch for all of this.
With all three of them considering a bid in 2024, it does put their trust in question.
Regardless, it is Biden 2024.
I refuse to back any of these extremists in the Republican Party.
Classified documents were found in Pence’s Indiana home last week, his lawyer told the National Archives in a letter — the latest in a string of discoveries of confidential information in private residences.
The records “appear to be a small number of documents bearing classified markings that were inadvertently boxed and transported to the personal home of the former vice president at the end of the last administration,” Pence’s lawyer, Greg Jacob, wrote in the letter shared with The Associated Press.
He said that Pence “engaged outside counsel, with experience in handling classified documents, to review records stored in his personal home after it became public that documents with classified markings were found in President Joe Biden’s Wilmington residence.
The Justice Department already is using special counsels to investigate the presence of documents with classification markings taken from the Florida estate of the former president and from Biden’s home and former Washington office. The department says roughly 300 documents marked classified, including at the top-secret level, were taken from Mar-a-Lago, and officials are trying to determine whether Washed Up 45 or anyone else should be charged with illegal possession of those records or with trying to obstruct the months-long criminal investigation.
Pence’s lawyer said in his letter that the former vice president “was unaware of the existence of sensitive or classified documents at his personal residence” and “understands the high importance of protecting sensitive and classified information and stands ready and willing to cooperate fully with the National Archives and any appropriate inquiry.”
Jacob said that Pence immediately secured the documents that were discovered in a locked safe. And according to a follow-up letter from the lawyer dated Jan. 22, FBI agents visited Pence’s residence to collect the documents.
A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment Tuesday, and a lawyer for Pence did not immediately respond to an email seeking elaboration.
Pence told the Associated Press in August that he did not take any classified information with him when he left office.
Asked directly if he had retained any such information, he said, “No, not to my knowledge.”
In a January interview with Fox Business, Pence described a “very formal process” used by his office to handle classified information as well as the steps taken by his lawyers to ensure none was taken with him.
“Before we left the White House, the attorneys on my staff went through all the documents at both the White House and our offices there and at the vice president’s residence to ensure that any documents that needed to be turned over to the National Archives, including classified documents, were turned over. So we went through a very careful process in that regard,” Pence said.
A violent police encounter over a restaurant messing up an order.
The U.S. Justice Department and Ohio authorities are investigating an incident involving two Dayton area police officers and a woman.
A customer at an area McDonald's filmed a cop serve a woman a hot plate after an encounter.
It all happened over a customer complaint which led to a trespassing order, a refusal to identify and thus a physical encounter.
Butler Twp. Sgt. Todd Stanley and Off. Tim Zellers responded at 4:20 p.m. to a call about a disorderly customer at the McDonald’s in Butler Township, a suburb of Dayton.
The customer, Laticka Hancock was upset that McDonald's messed up an order and demanded a refund. The manager called the police to have her banned from the restaurant. She said she will wait for the police to come. As they come, they at first started cordial but it turned into a verbal spat between Hancock, Stanley and Zellers.
When the officers asked Hancock for her driver's license, authorities say Hancock told them she didn't have one and refused to provide her identification. The exchange soon became heated, and one of the officers decided to place Hancock under arrest.
The officers said Hancock resisted arrest, and Stanley eventually hit Hancock on the right side of the face with an "open palm strike." Hancock was then placed in handcuffs, put into a police cruiser and charged with resisting arrest and three other minor counts. Authorities said Hancock was bleeding from her mouth and was treated by an EMT who determined the wound was superficial.
Stanley has served on the Butler force for more than 22 years, while Zellers has served for about 2 1/2 years. Butler Police Chief John Porter said Stanley has no formal reprimands in his personnel file and was placed on leave as a result of repeated correspondence from concerned residents, including "a lot of hate emails and phone calls."
Zellers has not been placed on leave, Porter said.
Hancock and her attorney, Michael Wright, held a news conference Wednesday to discuss the incident. Hancock said that she felt like she could have lost her life over a sandwich and felt lucky that she was able to now tell her side of the story.
"I don't want people to feel like I'm complaining for a piece of cheese," she said.
Wright said the responding officers "were looking for a fight, rather than to deescalate."
He called for Stanley to be fired and charged with assault. He also criticized the restaurant for calling police over the dispute.
"If they can't manage basic customer service, opting to potentially put a person's life in jeopardy over a mishandled Big Mac, it doesn't seem safe for Black people to go and eat at McDonald's anymore," Wright said.
Wright said no decision has been made yet on whether a lawsuit will be filed, noting that his firm was waiting for additional videos inside McDonald's and more information from police.
McDonald's did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment Thursday evening.
This was one of 45 mass shootings that happened in the U.S.
Mind you we are 23 days into 2023.
On Saturday, a terrorist killed 10 people at a dance studio in Monterrey Park, California.
The terrorist was seeking to cause more death. He tried to kill at an Alhambra dance studio before being disarmed. For 12 hours, he ended up being spotted in Torrance. He ended up killing himself before the law moved in on the suspected getaway vehicle.
The terrorist was a 72-year old man and his victims were Asian American.
The president lowered the flags, the feds investigate and funerals are being prepared.
We talk about it and debate it. Then on to the next controversy.
The feds are now trying to find out a motive to his attack.
According to the far right: White shooters are mentally ill. Black shooters are unrepentant criminals. Gay shooters are active groomers. Muslim shooters are terrorists. Hispanics and Asians shooters are illegal immigrants. Almost all mass shooters are registered Democrats because they have liked one thing common to the left.
One political party as of today will not show one ounce of concern. That will be the Republican Party. The party of stupidity, culture wars, political violence and conspiracy theories.
The Republicans usually amplify white victims whenever a tragedy occurs to score political points and phony outrage. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox and they will force it into national news.
Republicans solutions are more guns, blame others for America's social ills and defect from accepting reality.
Terrorist opened fire on a farming warehouse.
Well, in the Bay Area, a mass shooting. A mass shooting only two days after Monterrey Park. This mass shooting happened in Half Moon Bay, a city about 30 miles from San Francisco.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) and the California congressional lawmakers were notified.
Two mass shooting in the state that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) resides.
Seven people were killed in a mass shooting at two locations in the coastal northern California city of Half Moon Bay on Monday, and the suspect was arrested after driving to a police parking lot, apparently attempting to turn himself in, officials said.
Newsom said he was visiting Monterey Park victims in the hospital when he was called away and informed of the shooting in Half Moon Bay, about 380 miles to the north.
"Tragedy upon tragedy," Newsom said on Twitter.
The rural area was recently pounded by a series of heavy rainstorms that caused extensive damage, affecting immigrant laborers in the area, farm worker advocates said. A series of atmospheric rivers in the three weeks following Christmas killed 20 people statewide.
San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus identified the suspect and said he worked at one of the shooting locations. Corpus called the sites nurseries, and other officials said they were staffed by farm workers. Local media described at least one of them as a mushroom farm.
"There were farm workers affected tonight. There were children on the scene at the incidents. This is a truly heartbreaking tragedy in our community," San Mateo County Supervisor Ray Mueller told reporters. "The amount of stress that's been on this community for weeks is really quite high."
The suspect was cooperating with investigators but a motive had yet to be established, Corpus said.
A semi-automatic handgun was found in his car, she said.
Deputies responding to a call found four people dead and a fifth victim with life-threatening wounds at the first location in Half Moon Bay, then found three more dead at another place nearby, Corpus told a news conference.
Video on ABC 7 from the Bay Area showed the arrest as two men in plainclothes and one uniformed deputy, guns drawn, ordered the man out of his car. The suspect came out, was thrown to the ground and searched for weapons. Multiple uniformed officers quickly arrived on the scene with long guns.
Expect more.
Corpus said investigators speculate that the suspect drove to the station to turn himself in. The description of car and license plate were already circulating among law enforcement when a deputy spotted the car in the parking lot, Corpus said.
A woman who witnessed the arrest told reporters she had gone to the sheriff's department to get more information as she was involved in agriculture and concerned about the well-being of the farm workers.
"I came down here to find out what I could about the situation and why this happened and I hadn't expected to get quite that close to it," Kati McHugh told reporters on the scene. "It was a little too close for my comfort."
There were 38 mass shootings in the United States in the first 21 days of the year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which describes a mass shooting as four or more people shot or killed, not including the shooter.
With Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives, the only thing they'll offer to every mass shooting is "thoughts and prayers", "our hearts going out to", "the good guy with a gun", and their most common phrase "now it's not the time to politicize these tragedies."
Use the hashtag #ignorethenoise whenever you deal with folks who embrace this.
THE NICE GUY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PERSON WITH A FIREARM. THOSE WHO ARE SPURN BY RELATIONSHIPS, THE WORKPLACE, SOCIETY IN GENERAL WILL SEEK REVENGE BY TAKING OUT LIVES. THEY WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS OF MASSACRING THEIR FELLOW HUMAN BEING. THE JUNK FOOD MEDIA AND POLITICIANS ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE BY AMPING UP POLARIZING RHETORIC.
An active shooter doesn't care about the politics, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, your finances, your family, your plans that day, your successes, your failures, and most importantly, your life.
The shooter is motivated within seconds to take out as many people as he/she can.
What to do to protect your life.
1. Run - If you hear sounds like firecrackers, popping sounds or suspicious activities around a large gathering (i.e. malls, stores, clubs, public gatherings), if you can flee, run away from the shooter. Do not run in a straight path of the sight. Move around and zig-zag if possible to keep yourself out the line of fire. It's best to not film a shooter commiting the act. If you are willing to risk your life for a viral video, more power to you but its best to stay out of the line of fire by running away.
2. Hide - If you are involved in an active shooting, you must barricade yourself in a room and keep doors locked, lights off, phones on silent. Do not go into restrooms, lockers and kitchens. Those are most likely places where shooters often go. If you can barricade a room to prevent a shooter from getting in, it eliminate the opportunity for the shooter to get through. Make sure you keep your voice low when you're involved in mass shooting. Call 9-1-1 if you can.
3. Fight - If you are willing to risk your life or willing to film the incident, you have no choice but to fight. Make sure you grab something that is powerful enough to disarm a shooter. Do not confront a shooter in the midst of sight. Make yourself not visible if you're trying to fight. Do not think being a "good guy with a gun" is going to stop a bad guy. The cops don't see good guys trying to stop bad guys. They see active shooters and they will shoot anyone who is armed regardless of the matter. If you're ready to fight, be prepared to die. It's best to not be easily seen if you're trying to stop a shooter. If you're a conceal carry and attempt to disarm an active shooter, you are willing to sacrifice your life to save lives. You are willing to go hero, you could die a hero or an idiot.
Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence, monkeypox and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms.
I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth.
Terrorist caught without a bullet fired.
When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. This good guy with a gun nonsense has to end. The cops didn't do nothing when children were shot inside a school. A security guard was shot dead trying to protect shoppers. A cop accidentally shot his own. The good guy who tried to stop a bad guy is outgunned and a part of the rule #3.
Remember #3 means: The "good guy with a gun" better be prepared to die if they want to stop a shooter.
I don't want to hear folks say masks and vaccine mandates impede their freedoms. It prevents a deadly outbreak from spreading. If you want to die from the coronavirus, that's on you. We lost over 1 million people from the coronavirus.
I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history. Thoughts and prayers and your heart going out to the victims is not enough. It quite frankly is an insult. I am also tired of scapegoating Black on Black crime, Chicago, Baltimore and Democratic mayors for the nation's obsession to be numb to gun violence. You pretty much enable this nonsense by deflecting.
President Joe Biden is trying to curb gun violence. However, he has no support from Republicans. Most Democrats and America are for gun control measures. However the two Democrats in the Senate refuse to change the filibuster rules and its holding us back.
The National Rifle Association is always pushing against it. They will not relinquish from the narrative that guns are not saving lives. The Republicans aided by a fickle junk food media are openly encouraging anarchy and disruption in a desperate attempt for the Republicans to win back Congress and the White House. These agitators are calling for Biden to curb crime but will not help him. They want more guns on the street. It makes no sense.

The call number to the U.S. Capitol is now going to be used. This is the official phone number, 202-224-3121. Let them know that "thoughts and prayers," "hearts going to" and "good guys with guns" are no longer acceptable and you want legislation to curb gun violence.
GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES.
At the funeral, Washed Up 45 said he did not know Silk. Her sister Diamond passed away.
A funeral for a controversial media figure is a political rally.
Diamond & Silk were the biggest Black supporters of Washed Up 45 besides gay Black agitators Terrence K. Williams and Christian Walker. Christian somewhat denounced MAGA and Terrence has resorted to grifting by selling $20 pancake mix.
Lynnette Hardaway had passed away at the age of 51. She allegedly died from complications of the coronavirus. The obituary will not detail her passing.
Hardaway, known as Diamond was a popular far right conspiracy theorist who supported Washed Up 45 along with her sister Rochelle Hardaway-Richardson, known as Silk.
They got popularity in 2015 when the two gave a verbal lashing to Megyn Kelly when sje questioned the former reality television star about his controversial remarks towards women.
The two generated media buzz when The Drudge Report, Twitter and YouTube ampilified their rant into the mainstream.
Diamond was the most vocal member of the duo. She led the charge to attack critics of Washed Up 45. She mocked Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), Paul Pelosi, Hunter Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden, Eminem, Roland Martin and numerous others.
But in death, Silk and Black conservatives want respect.
Nah.
Washed Up 45, Mark Burns, Lynne Patton and Mike Lindell were in attendance of the far right agitator's funeral.
