Mississippi Republican senator Thad Cochran leaves another potential pickup for Democrat.
Another Republican is planning on a hasty exit. This is Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) and he is citing his failing health.
"I intend to fulfill my responsibilities and commitments to the people of Mississippi and the Senate through the completion of the 2018 appropriations cycle, after which I will formally retire from the U.S. Senate."
At least he, Sens. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Bob Corker (R-TN), Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and John McCain (R-AZ) can enjoy their government paid health insurance.
The old fart who managed to survive a vicious primary fight back in 2014 says he is out on April 1. That puts it squarely on Easter.
Now a special election is going to be held for the remaining term.
Cochran has been a supporter of Donald J. Trump and supported his tax law, the attempts at repealing the AffordableCare Act.
Cochran also faced a challenger who was crazy as shit.
Chris McDaniel, a far right former state representative is going to run for the seat.
Hopefully, the Democrats can line up a candidate capable of turning a Republican stronghold of Mississippi blue.
I have faith in the Democrats.
With Trump's dismal ratings and his ongoing self inflicted wounds, the chances of a Blue Wave could be happening.
Have patience.
Whoever wins the seat will serve the remainder of his term until election 2020.
Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) is running for reelection and has a potential to be usurped as well.
You gotta to love comedian and movie director Jordan Peele. His horror movie Get Out won he Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Screenplay.
Also legendary NBA star Kobe Bryant. He decided to not "shut and dribble." He decided to be an animator. Dear Basketball won an Oscar for Best Animated Short. Bryant took a shot at that cuntservative Laura Ingraham after her attack on LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Black Panther is surging over $1 billion in ticket sales. The Marvel movie is so far the best selling movie of the year.
Ryan Seacrest is killing himself. The allegations continue to plague him. It's coming at a bad time. E! Entertainment decided to keep him as the Oscar red carpet presenter.
He got sonned by Taraji P. Henson.
Henson who stars in Proud Mary also is a main feature on Fox's hit drama Empire.
Also concerns affect an already annoyed Kelly Ripa. She is said to be really angry about Seacrest not coming forth about the allegations.
American Idol begins in March and people are concern that the allegations could damage the brand. It's reboot will come to ABC and it anticipated on it to be a follow up to the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
Behind that bright smile lies the calculated bigot who masquerade herself as a middle school teacher.
Dayanna Volitich is a 25 year old White extremist from Florida who put on this act of being a goody good teacher. Deep down inside, she is a full fledge Nazi sympathizer.
This woman taught at Crystal River Middle School, located 60 miles from Tampa.
This woman worked on a podcast called.... I don't care what it is.
In her most recent podcast on Feb. 26, a guest railed against diversity in schools, dismissing the idea that “a kid from Nigeria and a kid who came from Sweden are supposed to learn exactly the same” and have the “same IQ.” Volitich enthusiastically agreed with the guest, and went on to argue that “science” has proven that certain races are smarter than others.
In the same episode, Volitich boasted about bringing her white nationalist beliefs into the classroom and hiding her ideology from administrators. She said that when parents complained to the school’s principal about how she is injecting political bias into the classroom, Volitich lied to the principal and said it was not true.
“She believed me and backed off,” she said.
Volitich also agreed with her guest’s assertion that more white supremacists need to infiltrate public schools and become teachers. “They don’t have to be vocal about their views, but get in there!” her guest said. “Be more covert and just start taking over those places.”
“Right,” Volitich said. “I’m absolutely one of them.”
Earlier this week, the blog Angry White Men, which tracks white nationalism, wrote a post about how someone named “Tiana Dalichov” had interviewed the prominent white supremacist media figure Lana Lokteff on this week’s episode of “Unapologetic.” Lokteff works for the media outfit Red Ice TV, which the Southern Poverty Law Center recently designated as a hate group.
In the episode, “Tiana Dalichtov” talked openly about being a public school teacher, but didn’t reveal her real name or the school where she worked.
This extremist would teach at middle school around children of color.
And at night, she goes full racist.
The Huffington Post broke the news about her Saturday.
These are the teachers Donald J. Trump want to give guns to. Damn, its getting hot out here.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the inept press secretary for Donald J. Trump. Her father is twice failed Republican candidate Mike Huckabee.
He is a contributor to TBN and Fox News. He was also the shortest termed CMA board members. He resigned after protest from members over his controversial remarks of the LGBTQ community.
Huckabee tired to be a part of the music education board. This was short lived when members threatened to quit over his past.
As a former governor of Arkansas, Huckabee though he could play a guitar and string a twang.
Country music has become a little more diversified. It's not the music of right wing bigots like Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and Hank Williams, Jr.
Country music stars are more open to the LGBT community.
Jason Owen, a openly gay country music manager and board member said that hiring Huckabee is a terrible choice for the CMA. Huckabee was pretty bummed about being forced off.
"I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained," Huckabee's letter of resignation read, which was accepted in a statement by the CMA. The organization, which produces a huge festival in Nashville each summer as well as the televised CMA Awards, has yet to offer further comment on its motivation for appointing him.
The CMA Foundation, which invests in music education programs across the country, made the announcement about Huckabee's appointment late Wednesday afternoon. Soon after, artists, CMA members and fans began voicing their outrage, most notably Jason Owen, co-president of Monument Records and owner of Sandbox Entertainment, who represents well-known clients like Little Big Town and Kacey Musgraves. Owen, who is openly gay, sent a letter to CMA's CEO, Sarah Trahern, and the director of community outreach, Tiffany Kerns, saying the decision to appoint Huckabee meant he would "no longer support the CMA Foundation in any way" and would advise his clients to follow suit.
"[Huckabee] has made it clear that my family is not welcome in his America," Owen wrote. "And the CMA has opened their arms to him, making him feel welcome and relevant. Huckabee speaks of the sort of things that would suggest my family is morally beneath his and uses language that has a profoundly negative impact upon young people all across this country. Not to mention how harmful and damaging his deep involvement with the NRA is. What a shameful choice."
Others soon joined the chorus, sending similar emails to Trahern expressing their anger over the choice of Huckabee, who hasopenly likened gay marriage to incest, has referred to homosexuality as a sin and once escorted former Casey County, Ky., Clerk Kim Davis, who refused marriage licenses to same-sex couples, out of jail (and now one of the very men she denied, David Ermold, is running against her for the job).
Whitney Pastorek, who manages Kristian Bush of the band Sugarland and is also a CMA member, was among those who addressed the organization directly.
"What a terrible disappointment to see [the CMA Foundation's] mission clouded by the decision to align with someone who so frequently engages in the language of racism, sexism, and bigotry," Pastorek wrote, as reported by the Tennessean. Pastorek now takes some solace in the outcome and hopes that the industry can move forward in the aftermath of such controversy.
"What Jason Owen and his team did was brave and inspiring, and I am grateful for every colleague and fan who spoke out alongside them to help set this right," Pastorek tells NPR Music. The development was likewise met with nods of approval from progressive leaders, including Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin.
"Mike Huckabee has staked his entire political career on undermining the rights of LGBTQ people and our families," Griffin tells NPR Music. "His cynical political attacks and discriminatory views do not represent the diversity of country music, and we thank all of the musicians, industry leaders, and fans who spoke out against his appointment to this important role."
Looks like all the corny jokes and snide remarks on Sean "Softball" Hannity's right wing carnival came back to bite his goofy ass.
The body camera released of Asheville Police roughing up a man.
Two Asheville Police officers may lose their jobs after body cam footage of a brutal takedown went public. A man leaving his job was harassed by the cops and he refused an order after a minor jaywalking charge.
The two white officers confronted Johnnie Rush after he was accused of numerous attempts of crossing a right-of-way without being in a crosswalk.
The two would engage in conversation with with Rush in which it elevated and the two were agitating the situation.
Chris Hickman and trainee Verino Ruggiero were the arresting officers.
Rush cussed at the officers and Ruggiero decided to place him in custody.
“All I’m trying to do is go home, man. I’m tired. I just got off of work,” Rush is heard saying to Ruggiero in the footage, recorded by Hickman’s body camera. “I’ve got two options: I can either arrest you or write you a ticket,” Ruggiero responds. “It doesn’t matter, man. Do what you have got to do, besides keep harassing me, man,” Rush says. “That’s all in your mind,” Hickman is heard saying.
That's when he took off and a brief foot chase and then the takedown.
Lucky to be alive.
When he was taken down and served a knuckle style chili with onions.
“I can’t breathe,” Rush says multiple times.
Photos shared to the local junk food media showed his bruises and then the NAACP demanded the body cam footage.
The footage went viral and people are demanding the officers be held responsible for excessive force.
Rush was charged with assaulting a police officer, trespassing, resisting arrest and traffic offenses. The charges were later dropped.
Police chief Tammy Hooper was apologetic to Rush and said their actions were terrible. The city's mayor Esther Manheimer also apologized and called upon the community to not overreact to the video.
The junk food media is reporting that H.R. McMaster is on his way out as National Security Adviser.
McMaster who replaced disgraced Michael Flynn was hoping to calm Donald J. Trump down. Alas, he can't.
McMaster had gotten tired of the immaturity at the White House and Trump berating him. The Russian investigation is still ongoing and Trump has single handedly attack him, Andrew McCabe, Jefferson Beauregard Magoo, James Comey and Robert Mueller for not ending the probe.
McMaster angered Trump by refusing to say "radical Islam" during an intelligence meeting.
General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!
McMaster sparred with Rex Tillerson and Jim Mathis over how to deal with North Korea. Mathis wanted a limited strike to bloody the nose, while the two wanted a safer solution if North Korea retaliated.
Family matters.
McMaster was also at odds with Steve Bannon, the former White House advisor and former CEO of Breitbart. Bannon believe McMaster betrayed Trump by not acknowledging the Russia probe as a witch hunt.
Safra Catz of Oracle could replace McMaster if he exits his position at the end of the month.
The White House denies the reports of McMaster being fired out the cannon.
Arming teachers in the case of a threat is bogus as well.
Okay, a Georgia teacher is spending his nights in the county lockup after he was acting a fool with his loaded flock.
Remember, the NRA says that the best way to stop a mass shooter with an assault rifle is a "good guy with a glock." Granted, I added the assault rifle and glock, but you see where I'm going with this.
The right believes, if we arm the licensed teachers, it could stop a threat. They make an extra dollar If they are trained. Sure helps them when they buy school supplies for their students. If we get more security guards, metal detectors, make bulletproof glass, and put god back in the classroom, it could stop a threat.
Yeah, lets raise taxes and offer more school levies.
You know it's the fault of single parent households. Let's shame the single mother, ban hip-hop music, ban video games, ban movies, blame the junk food media, blame George Soros and hold Black Lives Matter responsible, then we can have safe schools.
Tell me if any of these things ever worked?
A teacher from Dalton, Georgia was an armed teacher. Yeah the "good guy with a gun" barricaded himself in his classroom.
Dalton High School in Georgia.
The teacher who fired a few off sparking SWAT to get involved.
Now Donald J. Trump and the NRA have figured that arming teachers would solve a school mass shooting. Their argument fell flat.
Randal Davidson was the teacher who fired off. He wasn't allowed to have firearms after a previous encounter.
Davidson was the play by play radio announcer for Dalton High School football and was considered the nice guy.
Remember that word, nice guy and link that to gun.
He is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, disturbing the peace, weapons under disability, having firearms on school grounds and improper use of a firearm. Charges that could land the teacher in the iron college for 20 years.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
By the way, Georgia lawmakers were upset that Delta cancelled the NRA. They decided to pass a draconian law to punish the airline company. They pulled the tax break for jet fuel. This could make Delta leave Hartfield Jackson Airport, the world's busiest airport.
For the right and the so called 2A folks: "Now isn't the time!"
They would rather you criticize the Parkland shooting survivors for being paid by George Soros to protest the NRA. The right believes gun control activists are being fed radical Saul Alinsky strategies.
The best strategy to stop a mass shooter according to the NRA is a "good guy with a gun." If we arm the teachers with firearms then they can neutralize the threat. Gun free zones are dead giveaways for a mass shooting.
They call this a "Black on whatever" crime seeing that the junk food media revealed who the shooter is.
Campus of Central Michigan University.
You won't see Congress move one muscle on gun control. They will lower flags, offer moments of silence, and do the usual condolences rountine.
If we raise the age to 21 then it could keep people from obtaining assault rifles says lawmakers.
Words of deflection. Waste of time.
Another mass shooting in the United States. It happened on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
The feds are looking for this terrorist.
Donald J. Trump, Gov. Rick Synder, Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) will do the usual thoughts and prayers routine.
Two people are dead and the terrorist is on the loose. Once caught he will face capital murder. He could get DEATH. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The terrorist shot the victims on campus and it led to a lockdown.
It was a domestic dispute. The most dangerous call a police officer has to respond to.
This is the 13th school shooting and were only three months into the year.
Fred Meyer joins Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart in removing assault weapons. Kroger owns the company based in the northwestern United States.
Kroger, the country's largest grocery retail company has raised the age to purchase firearms at 21 years old.
It applies to its Fred Meyer locations.
The Northwest states that have a Fred Meyer will require adults over 21 to purchase firearms.
This is coming on the wake of Dick's Sporting Goods pulling all assault weapons and banning bump stocks. They also raised the age to purchase firearms to 25 years old.
The firearms debate has become more vocal after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland, Florida.
17 people lost their lives to a terrorist who was a ticking time bomb.
The blame game has became front and center. The left blames the NRA, Republicans and Donald J. Trump for rolling back gun control measures. The right blame the activists, the survivors, Florida sheriff Scott Israel, the FBI and the school administrators for the attack.
