Snap, Crackle and Piss. Kellogg's is doing damage control after it was revealed a worker urinated on a processing plant that made Rice Krispies.
Be warned this video shown is disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.
This is the first "You can't fix stupid" story of the year. It was talked about last week but I've ignored it because I kind of wanted to not focus on that at the moment.
The things that some people do can cause great harm to you and those around. I mean if you have an issue with a company, don't do anything stupid like what I'm about to explain in a moment.
Kellogg's is outraged over the acts of a worker who piss paraded on their conveyor belt. He would contaminate the product line with his urine and it landed in Kellogg's products.
The alleged incident was recorded at a Memphis facility in 2014. The products were already consumed by lord knows how many people in the United States and Canada.
The company alerted the United States Food and Drug Administration's criminal unit, the FBI, the Shelby County sheriff and Memphis Metro police.
The video that showed the idiot was posted on social media agitator WorldStarHipHop.com.
Now the Memphis plant is under investigation. They're determined who was responsible for the act.
They will look at the machines and determined if the idiot urinated on the one in question.
"It is important to note that any products that could be potentially impacted would be very limited and past their expiration dates," Kellogg said. It said the products that were potentially affected include Rice Krispies Treats, granola clusters used in some products and puffed rice treats that it no longer makes.
"We are outraged by this completely unacceptable situation, and we will work closely with authorities to prosecute to the full extent of the law," the company said.
Although "this behavior was disgusting," said Paul Norman, president of Kellogg North America, "this type of situation is a food quality issue and does not present a food safety risk."
The choice to the Supreme Court is Merrick Garland. If confirmed, the Court could swing in progressives favor. Republicans vow to fight until January 20, 2017.
It's rare that a president gets an opportunity to more than two justices to the Supreme Court. Since 1989, most of the presidents had an opportunity to nominate two to the Court.
Ronald Reagan was the last president to have nominated three to the Court. Of those three were Sandra Day O'Conner who retired in 2005. Antonin Scalia who recently passed away in 2016. Anthony Kennedy, currently the longest serving justice in the Court.
Picking justices for the Supreme Court is controversial. Given the partisan rancor by the Republicans in the current 114th Congress, a simple replacement to the Court is going to be a "showdown".
President Barack Obama has nominated Merrick Garland as his choice for the Supreme Court. Expect the Republican controlled senate to fight with the nomination.
Garland is a centrist candidate who the president decided to pick on. He felt that this choice is the most capable of getting through the Senate.
This choice also signals the end of the conservative lean on the court. With the sudden death of Scalia, Republicans fear that their party is collapsing.
Donald Trump, a brokered convention, the infighting between Republicans in Congress shows the signs of the Republican Party's incapability to lead the nation. Democrats are cautiously hoping that the civil war will split the party.
Obama is not playing games with Republicans.
Inept Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has already signaled that he's not willing to take the matter up until the next president comes forth. That right there is the example of partisanship which is driving Congress to low job approvals.
At 11am, the president will address the nation.
Merrick Brian Galand is the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, he is 63 years old and a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
He is married to his wife Lynn (nee Rosenman). He is a father of two daughters. He is Jewish.
Garland was seen on the shortlist of many qualified judges. Sir Srinivasan and Paul J. Watford were on the short list but faced a difficult path given the partisan rancor in the Senate.
Before Elena Kagan was appointed a justice of the Court, Garland was seen on the short list as well.
Republicans better confirm a nominee to the Supreme Court. Their plan will backfire if they refuse Obama's choice to the court.
Obama warned that if he doesn't get a nomination confirmed, the next president will suffer. Cause I bet you if the Republicans block a nominee to the Supreme Court, the next president (if its a Republican) will face the same obstruction from Democrats.
So far the race has ended beneficially for the controversial media mogul Donald J. Trump. He's won the biggest prize of Super Duper Tuesday! The wins destroys a rival who the establishment crowned their candidate.
The results are in. Ohio and Florida are the biggest prizes for the Democrats and Republicans running for president. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton can seal the deal if the turnout is in their favor.
For Marco Rubio and John Kasich, it's due or die.
Victories!
Donald Trump is declared the winner of the Northern Mariana Islands Caucus. The U.S. territory overwhelmingly went to Trump.
CNN projects that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump secure Florida. Major blow to Marco Rubio.
Rubio concedes the race. The junk food media says that Rubio is dropping out. A heckler mocks the senator while he's delivering his speech. The political tides have shifted. Rubio ends the presidential campaign.
The turnout for Rubio isn't in the majority of Florida. He also announced that he will not seek reelection for senate.
Donald Trump ends with a huge lead in the Sunshine State. Hillary Clinton managed to grab a hold of Florida's Hispanic and Black population in the state. Clinton healthy win has given her some motivation.
Missouri is a state that Ted Cruz put some work in. The Republican managed to tap into the bible thumpers and gun owners. There's a slight lead for the Texas senator.
North Carolina is closing up with Trump and Clinton likely winning. We can't call the race until CNN and AP projects the results.
The AP reports that Hillary Clinton is winning North Carolina. This comes a huge blow to Bernie Sanders. Sanders campaigned hard in the Ashville, Greensboro, Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Raleigh. The Black and Hispanic vote and working class women vote went overwhelmingly to Clinton.
Ohio gives the victory!
The AP and CNN project that John Kasich wins Ohio. The first win of the inept governor. It signals that Trump and Cruz will still have Kasich in the race. Kasich gives his victory speech.
A heckler interrupted the inept governor. Trump's call to disrupt rivals is working.
The inept governor had a managed to win his state in a bitterly fought race. With Rubio out, it's a three man race. Ted Cruz wanted it to be a two man race. It's not going to be like that. Now the establishment is backing Kasich. The meddling of Mitt Romney paid off in Ohio. The state that is extremely crucial to the U.S. Presidency has given its prodigal son a victory.
Now it's going to LIKELY a brokered convention in Cleveland. Conservative agitators dismiss Kasich for being a spoiler to Cruz and Trump. The Republican civil war is fully engaged.
The cracks are happening. Republicans fear that this moment could happen. The civil war is out in the open. If they steal the election from Trump, many voters could sit it out. If they nominate Trump, the Republicans may lose a generation of voters.
Michelle Malkin goes after Matt Drudge for posting a Ted Cruz smear. Ann Coulter slams Fox News and Cruz for being ambitious to attack Trump's supporters instead of the protesters. Mark Levin endorse Cruz for president. Ben Shapiro, editor at large/president and Michelle Fields quit Breitbart News after Joel Pollak and Stephen K. Bannon ignored the concerns of staffers being treated wrong by the Trump campaign.
Fields was manhandled by Trump's right hand man Corey Lewandowski. She announced she's pressing charges and filing a lawsuit against the campaign.
The Blaze Network is struggling after Beck's rally to stop Trump.
Failed presidential candidate Ben Carson admits that he's still bitter about Donald Trump and Ted Cruz ruining his bid. He admits that he didn't support Trump. He said that Trump promised a position in his administration if he won.
AP and CNN calls the state of Ohio for Hillary Clinton. The former secretary of state wins handily.
It's going to be harder for them to win!
Clinton's motivation in Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo and Columbus helped her. Clinton's win make her the clear frontrunner in this race.
Clinton comes out proud securing three major states that she was struggling to win. Florida, North Carolina and Ohio went for her in a huge turnout. Now Clinton's delegate lead has increased.
She gives her victory speech thanking Sanders. The Clinton campaign asks for voters to support her in order to stop Trump and Cruz from winning the election. Clinton knocks on Trump for his extremist rhetoric and hammers Republicans for flexing the only muscle they got, their goddamn tongues.
CNN and AP reports that Donald Trump wins the state of Illinois. The huge victory knocks John Kasich's Ohio victory down slightly. Ted Cruz was hoping to upset Trump.
Trump will acknowledge Cruz's dismal results. He will also go after Kasich and Rubio.
Failed presidential candidate Marco Rubio hasn't endorsed any candidate for president.
Bernie Sanders gains traction in Missouri. The Vermont senator could have a victory since Michigan.
The Michigan race was a big shakeup for Hillary Clinton.
CNN and AP reports that Donald Trump wins the state of North Carolina. The victory stops Ted Cruz's win in most of the Deep South.
Trump's victory speech.
Kasich's victory speech.
CNN and AP projects that Hillary Clinton won the state of Illinois. Missouri is close to call, it seems like Bernie Sanders may eek out a victory in the state.
It's told that conservative leaders will secretly meet in Washington, DC to decide on what they're going to do about Donald Trump. They have thoughts of running an insurgent to take on Trump.
It's confirmed that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton won the state of Missouri. Bernie Sanders will not engage in a recount. It comes a blow the Sanders campaign. Ted Cruz also will face a tougher road to victory.
The cops mistaken this cop for a thug! This Jacai Colson, a Prince George's County police officer killed by "friendly fire".
It's already posted on social media and the #AllLivesMatter bigots already assumed the suspects were responsible for the fatal shooting of Jacai Colson, a four year veteran of the Prince George's County police department.
Well I will admit I was wrong. The shooting was an unfortunate act of mistaken identity and I'm not buying that "friendly fire" excuse.
Although the suspects were indicted on the murder of law enforcement, the officer who fired the weapon may face charges too.
Four officers will face the freezer for firing the weapons. The one who pulled the fatal blow to Jacai will face the heat.
The brothers Ford held on murder charges.
Anyway, Reuters report that Jacai was undercover. He was in plain clothes and the officers didn't even know he was a mole. The suspect with a history of mental illness began shooting outside a police station as his two brothers videotaped the action, authorities said on Monday.
Police said the accused gunman, 22-year-old Michael Ford of Landover, Maryland, appeared ready to die. He recorded his last will and testament on a cell phone just minutes before his two brothers, 21-year-old Malik Ford and 18-year-old Elijah Ford, drove him to police headquarters.
Michael Ford suffered non-threatening gunshot wounds in the incident, police said.
Chief Hank Stawinski said at a Monday afternoon press conference that Ford, who has a history of mental illness, appears to have begun firing at random, aiming at the police building, parked cars and an ambulance.
Colson fired back almost immediately and ended up drawing fire, giving other officers a chance to get into position, Stawinski said. Preliminary evidence showed he was hit by another officer's bullet.
"He demonstrated extreme heroism," the chief said.
At least one of the brothers stood nearby and recorded the gunfight on his phone, police said.
The Ford brothers are innocent until proven guilty.
Of course, since the victim was Black police officer and the alleged shooters (or uninteded accomplices) were Black, expect concern racist Colin Flaherty to make the case for Black on whatever violence.
A plainclothes officer who happens to be Black was gunned down because he did his job.
The concern racist Flaherty operates a website called...... and its devoted to making the case that Black people are causing criminal acts and the junk food media isn't focused on it. Of course he's a huge Donald Trump supporter so I assume that he's feeding Trump the bullshit of racially-motivated violence by Black people.
A former South Carolina state trooper got served in the involuntary shooting of an unarmed motorist.
A former South Carolina trooper got served for the unintentional shooting of a Black motorist after a minor traffic stop.
Sean Groubert was found guilty of assault and battery and improper discharge of a firearm.
Levar Jones was the victim of an unintended circumstances.
The dash cam showed that Groubert was preparing to stop the motorist for an alleged seatbelt violation.
Levar Jones now has to walk with a cane. He was looking for his license when idiot cop shot him.
As Levar was getting out of his vehicle, he was on way to a gas station, Groubert asked for his license. Soon as Levar went into his vehicle, Groubert fired on him. The slug went into his hip and injured. On top of that, Groubert arrested him for it.
Well the Department of Safety saw the reckless call.
They ended up awarding Levar, nearly $400,000 in compensatory damages. Groubert was fired out the cannon and had to face the music for his reckless call.
This reckless call now can land him in the iron college for 20 to LIFE.
World News Today wishes Levar a speedy recovery.
Justice was served for the acts of this reckless criminal.
When President Barack Obama invited the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau to the White House for a state dinner, the Obama daughters were there. They had their first experience at a gala such as a state dinner.
They were lovely teenage girls becoming beautiful women. President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama should be very proud of these two.
It seems like Donald Trump's biggest supporter decided that no one is spared. Not even Obama's children. It's duly respected that politicians and pundits stay away from the children. I guess the rules were thrown out the window when Trump complained that political correctness makes America look "weak."
So I happen to click on the link and it directs me to the story published by Yahoo! Style about the president's daughters. The president gave an emotion salute to his daughters.
The dresses that the Obama family wore drove conservatives nuts!
The Obama family will hang around for awhile. Until Sasha graduates from high school, they'll stay in Washington, DC. Malia will be heading to Brown University in the fall.
But what drew attention was the price of the dresses they wore.
Okay, here we go......cue the conservative outrage!
For one thing, Lauren Tuck consider the price of the Obamas dresses, "politics". What does Malia and Sasha Obama have to do with politics?
Besides the trolls who came from underneath the bandwidth bridge, here's a San Francisco news agitator who decided to throw her two cents into the conversation.
Kristen Sze went to social media to question the decision to have the Obama girls wearing such expensive dresses.
That invited a slew of social media assholes who complained that the Obamas were acting like "ROYALS" spending on the taxpayer's dime.
Of course, you'll hear the racial slur tossed around somewhere.
The girls wore Naeem Khan pieces, with Malia sporting one from 2015’s pre-fall collection and Sasha choosing a more recent dress from Khan’s resort 2016 collection. Whether they purchased or borrowed the dresses — which did the job of getting Khan in the news regardless — is unknown. What is known is that people have reacted negatively to learning the retail prices of the dresses.
Last time, conservatives complained about the president being cheap. They went bonkers over the fact that the president gave Queen Elizabeth II, an iPod.
So here's a poll for you.
Should the junk food media lay off Malia and Sasha Obama?
Four year veteran of Prince George's County murdered by callous terrorists. Jacai Colson was a 28-year old member of the law and lost his life serving his community.
Tragic shooting in Maryland. A four year veteran of the Prince George's County police was shot and killed. The terrorists in the fatal shooting were local brothers.
Malik and Michael Ford, were the terrorists. They came from suburban Washington, DC and they allegedly ambushed lawmen.
Police claim that the brothers were wounded after getting into a firefight with the law.
Jacai Colson was killed after the gunfire settled. He was a undercover narcotics officer who worked on the force for four years. He was shot outside the police station on Sunday afternoon. His fellow officers rushed him to the hospital, where he would die of his injuries.
Police did not release a motive for the shooting, and Prince George's Police Chief Hank Stawinski told reporters that the attack "wasn't about anything".
One of the terrorist was taken into custody after being hit with gunfire. The other was caught by Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits a few blocks from the shooting.
Malik and Michael Ford are innocent until proven guilty. The charges alone could put these two in the iron college for LIFE. I believe Maryland doesn't have the legal execution.
As expected, the concern troll will react to the death of the police officer. Seeing that the officer slain was Black and the terrorist were Black, conservatives will run this nonsense about how #BlackLivesMatter, Barack Obama or whatever entity are "truly" responsible for the "act of cowardice".
Therefore, here's a poll for you!
The law has caught the suspects in the killing of a Maryland police officer. Who really takes the blame for this?
World News Today send our condolences to the family of Jacai Colson.
He is still leading in national polls. Donald Trump encourages supporters to interrupt rivals.
Donald Trump's shake up in Dayton, Ohio has gotten the nation's attention. The U.S. Secret Service quickly stopped the threat and were praised by Trump for handling it without people getting seriously hurt.
Trump said that he doesn't condone violence. But he said that the protesters shouldn't disrupt his rallies. In regards to the Fayetteville, North Carolina event, he said that the protester should not have thrown his middle fingers up. This controversy happened when a Black man was sucker punched by a Trump supporter. The protester used his freedom of speech and got hurt for it. Trump looked the other way. The protests in Chicago interrupted Trump's rally. He abruptly canceled the event.
Trump said he wasn't really happy about the events being interrupted by protesters. He demands that his supporters to crash events of his rivals.
The suspect in the Dayton incident was allegedly a #BlackLivesMatter and Bernie Sanders supporter.
Trump says that his supporters should crash Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, John Kasich, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden events.
Republicans said that the rise of Trump was created by "drumroll".......President Barack Obama.
So according to the concern trolls, the rhetoric by the president and not the Republicans sparked the rise in Trump.
Yeah, right!
Republican been whistling and barking all this rhetoric for years and it seems like now they're concerned that the voter they wanted are too extreme for them.
Also it seems like the Pledge to Support The Nominee is not happening. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and John Kasich said they may violate the GOP Pledge. Last year, Trump said that if he wasn't treated fairly he may run a third party. The Republicans scrambled to calm Trump's threats by advocating a pledge to make sure that if you're running as a Republican, you will support the nominee.
The rhetoric of Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, John Kasich and Ted Cruz is disturbing. They have sparked the flames of hate and ignorance.
They have fed the negative into the minds of the irrational. The silent majority is code.
While the junk food media focused on Donald Trump getting shaken by a protester, Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton won the night.
Trump sucks all the oxygen out the room. Did you know that the state of Wyoming, the District of Columbia along with the U.S. territories of Guam and Northern Mariana Islands held their contests?
Well if you didn't know about, I'll tell you!
Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton came out big winners in the contests, respectively.
Northern Mariana Islands and Guam are located in the North Pacific Ocean on the opposite of the International Date Line. The Northern Marianas held its first Democratic caucus. Guam held its Republican caucus.
Hillary Clinton won the Democratic caucus and took home 4 pledged delegates.
Guam went to Ted Cruz in an overwhelming landslide.
Ted Cruz won the conservative state of Wyoming. He ends up picking up 9 pledged delegates. It was a blowout for the controversial senator.
Even the struggling Marco Rubio won the District of Columbia.
Donald Trump still leads in the national polls and leading handily in the delegates.
Republican establishment figures blame President Barack Obama for creating the nonsense by which is Donald Trump. Obama bucked the Republicans by saying, their partisan antics created this.
The Republican Party is fucked up. Seriously the party is majority WHITE, too conservative, and too rigid. Donald Trump could wrap this up if he wins Florida and Ohio. The Republicans created the mess that made Trump a figure in their party. The rules are thrown out.
He's bring together the extremists that cheered when he demanded Obama's birth certificate. He's bringing extremists who believe immigrants, Muslims, poor people and Blacks with grievances are the real threat to the country.
It's getting worse and I hope to god that we avoid electing a Republican for president.
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are weak candidates. But they're far better than Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, John Kasich and Marco Rubio.
Donald Trump had a scare today. The controversial Republican frontrunner was in Dayton, Ohio today. He was at the Exposition Center at the Dayton International Airport with a large crowd. As Trump was speaking, some guy managed to penetrate the bubble.
The U.S. Secret Service had to stop a man from rushing the stage. It really did frighten Trump.
Trump speaks before the crowd.
The suspect, Thomas DiMassimo is being held on assault charges and inciting violence. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty.
The Dayton Police, the Dayton Airport Police, Montgomery County sheriff and U.S. Secret Service were prepared for the potential of violence.
The Chicago rally was abruptly cancelled after protesters disrupted the event and Trump supporters got upset. It led to a riot on the University of Illinois-Chicago campus.
DiMassimo is an activist who wanted to shake up things up. I guess that planned backfired.
Now Trump and the conservative agitators are claiming that the suspect is a supporter of the Islamic State. It's not verified that the suspect was a part of the extremist group.
Video is disturbing.
Dimassimo, a student at Wright State University in Dayton, has been an avid supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and Vermont Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on social media.
He has also taken part in rallies and protests in the past, including a rally at Wright State in April 2015, when he was recorded dragging an American flag. You can watch video from that protest above.
Once the suspect was taken away, Trump remarks to the crowd.
“I was ready for him, but it’s much easier if the cops do it, don’t we agree? And to think I had such an easy life! What do I need this for, right?,” the Washington Post reports.
U.S. Secret Service restrains man after he infiltrated the bubble.
He posted on social media that he was going to infiltrate the bubble and make the news.
These charges could have him spending a few months up to a nickel in the iron college. And since the conservative agitating media claims he's a supporter of #BlackLivesMatter and the Islamic State, no question, he'll get a fair amount of death threats.
#BlackLivesMatter would be blamed for this.
And of course, conservatives will lambasted the #BlackLivesMatter as supporters of the Islamic extremist group.
Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson decided to put a ring on it. He proposed to R&B/pop singer Ciara Harris while on vacation in the Seychelles.
This would be the second time for the R&B singer to be engaged. The would be the second marriage for the NFL quarterback. He was previously married to his high school sweetheart Ashton Meem.

Wilson moved Ciara from Atlanta to Bellevue, Washington. They live in the city and give back to the community. He and Ciara are devoted to community service in Seattle metro and Bellevue.
The feud between Ciara and Future has gotten a tad bit of attention. The couple broke up back in 2014 after allegations of cheating from Future. They have a son named Future Zahir.
Future is the father of five children. One of his daughters comes from my second cousin India J.
Future is feuding with Ciara and Russell Wilson. Future isn't keen on Wilson hanging around with his son.
Ciara has sued the rapper for child support and defamation. Future counter sued after he alleged that the pop singer defamed him in the subliminal diss "I Bet".
Future is dissing on Wilson for being too cozy with his son. According to sources, Future isn't comfortable with his son being around the NFL star.
The rapper is an in-demand talent. Many rappers and singers had Future sing or rap on their songs.
EVOL is the fifth album release from Future. It was released on Epic Records through Apple Music.
The rapper signed a multi-million deal to exclusively sell his music through the streaming music service. The last album releases were DS2 and What a Time to Be Alive with Drake.
World News Today congratulates Ciara and Russell Wilson. We wish them well on their journey.
Donald Trump will come to Ohio to do a rally at the Dayton International Airport. Trump, Chris Christie and Ben Carson will be there to speak in favor of a Trump presidency. Of course, we'll expect protesters there.
Trump despises protesters and the junk food media. He often "jokes" around about beating down protesters and those who play "gotcha moments".
He is leading in the polls in Illinois and Ohio. These two states are crucial to rival John Kasich.
Kasich, the current governor of Ohio is struggling to win. He's placing all his money on his state to support him. After all he mentions Ohio more than America. He and Marco Rubio are trying to stop Trump and Ted Cruz from securing the Republican nomination. The nomination has sparked internal feuds between party leaders, conservative agitators and activists. The civil war is ugly and it's brutal.
While in Chicago, the Trump campaign had to cancel a rally citing safety concerns. There was a riot at the Trump rally. Protesters and Trump supporters got into a brawl and it got out of control.
The AP reports Trump canceled one of his signature rallies on Friday, calling off the event due to safety concerns after protesters packed the arena where he was scheduled to speak.
The announcement the billionaire businessman would postpone the rally led a large portion of the crowd inside the University of Illinois at Chicago Pavilion to break out into raucous cheers. Many rushed onto the floor, jumping up and down with their arms up in the air.
"Trump represents everything America is not and everything Chicago is not," said Kamran Siddiqui, 20, a student at the school who was among those celebrating. "We came in here and we wanted to shut this down. Because this is a great city and we don't want to let that person in here."
Some supporters of the Republican front-runner started chanting "We want Trump! We want Trump!" in response to the celebrations, and there were some isolated physical confrontations between members of the crowd. Chicago police said they made some arrests.
"It's a shame," said Trump supporter Bill Tail, 43, of the Chicago suburb of Oaklawn. "They scream about tolerance, but are being intolerant themselves. That doesn't make sense."
As Trump attempts to unify a fractured Republican Party ahead of next week's slate of winner-take-all primary elections, the confrontations between his legion of loyal supporters and protesters who accuse him of stoking racial hatred have become increasingly contentious, underscoring concerns about the divisive nature of his candidacy.
A North Carolina man was arrested after video footage showed him punching an African-American protester being led out of a Trump rally in that state on Wednesday. At that event, Trump recalled a past protester as "a real bad dude."
"He was a rough guy, and he was punching. And we had some people — some rough guys like we have right in here — and they started punching back," Trump said. "It was a beautiful thing."
At Trump's rally earlier Friday in St. Louis, he was repeatedly interrupted by protesters. Police there charged nearly three dozen people with general peace disturbance and one person with assault.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, second in delegates to Trump in the GOP race, said late Friday that the billionaire has created "an environment that encourages this sort of nasty discourse."
"When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that is escalates," Cruz said. "Today is unlikely to be the last such incidence."
In a telephone interview after postponing his event in Chicago, Trump said he didn't "want to see people hurt or worse" at the rally, telling MSNBC, "I think we did the right thing."
But Chicago police said they had sufficient manpower on scene to handle the situation and did not recommended Trump cancel the rally. That decision was made "independently" by the campaign, said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
Trump said the anger on display in Chicago wasn't directed at him or his campaign, but rather was a manifestation of the public's deep frustration with economic conditions in the country.
"Our businesses are being taken away from us, our businesses are being moved out of the country," Trump said on Fox News. "This is a demonstration against economic conditions on both sides."
But many of the protesters in Chicago said they were there to specifically to stop Trump from speaking.
"Our country is not going to make it being divided by the views of Donald Trump," said Jermaine Hodge, a 37-year-old lifelong Chicago resident who owns a trucking company. "Our country is divided enough. Donald Trump, he's preaching hate. He's preaching division."
Indeed, Trump taunted the protesters at his rally in St. Louis, panning them as weak "troublemakers," and ordered them to "go home to mommy" or "go home and get a job" because "they contribute nothing."
"These are not good people, just so you understand," Trump said. "These are not the people who made our country great. These are the people that are destroying our country."
Dozens of University of Illinois at Chicago faculty and staff had petitioned university administrators earlier in the week to cancel the Friday night rally, citing concerns it would create a "hostile and physically dangerous environment" for students.
Trump looks the other way when violence breaks out at his rallies.
One Trump supporter at the Chicago rally said Trump had created the environment that led to Friday night's melee by holding the event at the school — a civil and immigrant rights organizing hub with large minority student populations.
"I think he was kind of provoking things, to be honest with you," said Dan Kozak, 23, from suburban Tinley Park. "He could have picked the suburbs and nothing would have happened."
Hours before the event in Chicago was scheduled to start, hundreds of people lined up to get into the arena. Trump backers were separated from an equally large crowd of anti-Trump protesters by a heavy police presence and barricades.
Once inside, some supporters and protesters engaged in a series of intense verbal altercations. For the first time during his White House bid, the crowd at one of his events appeared to be an equal mix of those eager to cheer on the real estate mogul and those overtly opposed to his candidacy.
When one African-American protester was escorted out before the event started, the crowd erupted into chants of "Let him stay!"
Veronica Kowalkowsky, an 18-year-old Trump supporter, said she had no ill will toward the protesters — but didn't think they felt the same way. "I feel a lot of hate," she said. "I haven't said anything bad to anyone."
Chicago community activist Quo Vadis said hundreds of protesters had positioned themselves in groups around the arena, and they intended to demonstrate right after Trump took the stage.
Their goal, he said, was "for Donald to take the stage and to completely interrupt him. The plan is to shut Donald Trump all the way down."
