Weeper Boehner Abruptly Resigns!

Weeper of the House resigns in late October. Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) resigning from Congress sent shock waves across the nation

Today, the Ohio lawmaker informed President Barack Obama and his Republican colleagues that he's resigning as House Speaker. He also will end as a term as a congressman in October. This cause a ripple effect in Washington.

With the most powerful Republican stepping aside, this assures a civil war within the party.

Republicans are solely responsible if they stand firm and shut down the government again.

Boehner blames the conservative agitators in the junk food media as well as them knucklehead insurgents for things not getting done. Some of the rational members are signaling a rebuke to the insurgents.

Boehner's abrupt resignation was quick. He faced pressure from conservative members to take a tougher stance against the president. The Republicans want to defund Planned Parenthood. It's highly unlikely the Republicans got the votes to defund the women's health group.

Weeper John Boehner (R-OH) was emotional during Pope Francis's visit to the Capitol. He was routinely mocked for being a "crybaby" and his glowing "orange tans".

Boehner who was reelected last year won easily in his district. The 8th Congressional District is based in Southwestern Ohio. The 8th district covers West Chester, Eaton, Oxford, Hamilton, Middletown, Troy, Piqua, Huber Heights, western Springfield and Greenville.

He also faced a challenge for his House Speaker role by knucklehead insurgents Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) and Rep. Dan Webster (R-FL).

He also watch his right hand man face an embarrassing defeat. Eric Cantor, Boehner's right hand man was defeated by an insurgent disrupting the chain of command. Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) quickly became the Majority House Leader.
Now you know how I feel, Mr. Speaker.
McCarthy is considering the possibility of being the House Speaker. No confirmation yet.

Boehner lives in West Chester. He's been a lawmaker since 1991. He was a the minority leader from 2007 to 2011. Boehner became the House Speaker in 2011 after the Republicans took control over the House of Representatives.

He released a press release to the reason why he's resigning.

"The first job of any Speaker is to protect this institution that we all love. It was my plan to only serve as Speaker until the end of last year, but I stayed on to provide continuity to the Republican Conference and the House," Boehner said in a statement. "It is my view, however, that prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable damage to the institution. To that end, I will resign the Speakership and my seat in Congress on October 30."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) praised Boehner on the Senate floor Friday.

“He is an ally. He is a friend. And he took over as Republican leader at a difficult time for his party," he said.

Boehner's supporters and the top Democratic leaders complained that Republicans are too goddamn extreme. Minority Leaders Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Harry Reid (D-NV) are praising Boehner for at least putting up with such obstruction. But quickly said that a government shutdown is coming and they warn that the ripple effects could hurt the nation.

Reid is retiring from the Senate. He cites his eye injury and Republican obstruction for his departure.

"By ousting a good man like Weeper Boehner -- someone who understood the art of compromise -- the party of Eisenhower and Reagan is no more," he said.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called Boehner's resignation "seismic," adding that it was "a stark indication of the disarray of the House Republicans."

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) said that Boehner had resigned because he knew that he could lose his position.

"There's no question conservatives had a victory here," he said. Huelskamp is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, the group that was trying to oust Boehner.

But Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) said that Boehner was sacrificing his position for the good of the conference.

"I think that following the pope's visit -- this is sacrificial love on his behalf to strengthen the Republican conference. It's really amazing and unheard of in modern-day politics," he said.

Across town, a group of social conservatives were gathered for the start of the annual Values Voter Summit, where dozens of politicians were scheduled to speak over the next few days. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) delivered the news of Boehner's resignation to the summit to huge cheers and a standing ovation from attendees, underscoring the opposition Boehner often faced from within his own party.

Asked about the resignation, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) skipped over the pleasantries and went straight to criticizing Boehner -- without naming him -- and McConnell for making promises to conservatives and not keeping them. Cruz is running for the Republican nomination. He is a relatively unaccomplished politico. He is cited as one of the reasons to why Republicans are too extreme.
Friends to the end. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) lose two allies.
"I have long said leadership decisions are decisions to be made by the House, but I have also long called on Republican leadership to do something unusual, which is lead,” Cruz said at a press conference hosted by Liberty Institute. “To actually stand up and honor the commitments that we made to the American people. There’s a frustration across this country. It is volcanic. And it’s not complicated to understand.”

Cruz did not give a yes or no answer when asked whether McConnell should step down as well, saying it is "a question for Leader McConnell and for the Republican conference." He said he would "sing their praises," though, if they stood up to lead, referring to Boehner and McConnell.

Twice during a nearly two-hour meeting between Boehner and Republicans at the Capitol on Friday applause could be heard from inside the room.

Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) came out teary-eyed and started choking up when asked what he thought of Boehner's resignation. Cramer said that Boehner recited the prayer of Saint Francis when announcing his resignation to House Republicans Friday morning.

"It's kind of like the announcement of a death," Cramer said.

"A lot of really small people look smaller, and he looks bigger," he said. "And why not, why not let the guy who's always taken all the slings and arrows for us, take it one more time."

Rep. John Flemming (R-LA) said Boehner played his decision close to his vest and that even Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) didn't know about it until the announcement.

Boehner had been scheduled to speak with reporters Friday morning after meeting with Republicans, but left the meeting by a back door and didn't talk to the press.

Ohio Suburb Eases Up On Bus Line!

The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority wants to expand into other communities.

About a few years ago, Beavercreek, Ohio was under intense pressure from local riders and the federal government to advocate public transit to its community. Beavercreek residents and city leaders were opposed to the bus line coming to the area.

The staunchly conservative suburb outside of Dayton, fought hard to keep the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) from making stops near The Mall at Fairfield Commons.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Highway Administration gave the suburb an ultimatum. The city better get a bus line out there or else lose federal funding for projects vital to the suburb.

Beavercreek city leaders approved the proposal and RTA managed to get a bus line out by the mall and Soin Medical Center.

Route 1 was rerouted in 2014. It was once a trolleybus route. Now it serves as a semi-county route. It begins at a layover loop in the census designated community of Drexel. It travels through U.S. Highway 35 for a brief moment. The bus passes through the junction where U.S. 35 meets Ohio State Route 49. Once it passes the junction, the bus travels east on Third Street, Dayton's dividing road.

Once it enters the city of Dayton, it goes to the Westown Transit Center and through Roosevelt-Westwood neighborhood. It also travel through the Dayton Aviation Historical National Park before it travels across the Dayton Peace Bridge. For a few miles it's also called Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Some segments of Third Street are dedicated to the slain civil rights leader. It also passes through the Dayton and RTA Cultural Arts Center before it heads toward downtown.

The bus travels through downtown. It passes through Sinclair Community College, the Canary district and Springfield neighborhood. It passes through Riverside and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. It enters Greene County where it runs a concurrent route pattern. One bus will go clockwise through Beavercreek and briefly through Fairborn towards Wright State University. The other bus will go counter clockwise through Pentagon Boulevard toward the Soin Medical Center and The Mall at Fairfield Commons. The bus terminates on Colonial Glenn Highway near the Wright State University campus. The road is devoted to U.S. astronaut and former senator John Glenn.

I've read the Dayton Daily News comment section. I've seen some of the most vile and racist word vomit from residents here complaining about how the ni663rs took the Salem Mall down. The concern trolls were complaining about the Dayton Mall being the hub of Get-Toe B'havior.

When the John Crawford shooting occurred in August 2014, many residents blamed the bus line for the shooting. They didn't find fault in the reckless call committed by Officer Sean Williams.

The concern trolls were saying that the bus line near the Mall at Fairfield Commons would turn the shopping center into a Z00.

So far, I've haven't heard much about unruly behavior at the bus stops. I mean there's only three measly bus stops near the Mall at Fairfield Commons. How many people actually ride that bus?
Dayton during the construction phase. Interstate 75 is being reworked through downtown. Beavercreek is six miles from downtown Dayton.
You have to wait at least 120 minutes to catch a bus.

The Greater Dayton RTA rallied for the next phase in its growth. They want to extend two routes to The Greene.

The Greene is close to celebrating 10 years in business. The shopping mall located in Beavercreek and Kettering is an outdoor mixed retail and housing center that gives residents a "downtown" shopping experience. RTA wants to be a part of the celebration. The owners of The Greene and RTA propose a bus stop located near the movie theater. The city leaders of Beavercreek are signalling approval of the bus line.

There are two buses that run near the mall.

Route 11 is county route that follows in a semi-circular path. Route 11 begins at Woodman Drive near Patterson Road. It travels towards the suburb of Riverside, the Eastown Transit Center and through the Wright Patterson Air Force Base before it heads towards Dayton. It covers the city of Oakwood, and a majority of Kettering. It passes through the Kettering Medical Center and Town & Country Shopping Center. The route terminates near the Kettering Recreation Center. The route passes near The Greene.
The Greene.
Route 12 is a local route that covers Kettering and the Five Oaks neighborhood. The route begins at the Good Samartian Hospital after a brief travel towards Northwest Plaza in Dayton. The route goes through Five Oaks and Upper Riverdale Neighborhood. It also passes through the McPherson neighborhood and the Dayton Art Institute. It goes through downtown and the Oregon Entertainment District. It follows a southwestern path towards Kettering. It passes near The Greene.

RTA is hoping to expand services into Miami, Greene, Warren County, Butler County, and extend their bus service to 2 am.

The bus company now has buses that serve The Austin Landing shopping complex, The Dayton Mall, The Mall at Fairfield Commons, the Dayton International Airport and Wright State University.

Dayton is the smallest city to still have trolleybuses. Out of five cities, Dayton is the smallest city to have overhead trolley wiring and bio-flex diesel trolleys.

Seattle, Boston, San Francisco and Philadelphia have trolleybuses that serve commuters. These cities have subways, light rail transit, commuter rail and ferries. Dayton doesn't have subways, light rail or commuter rail or ferries.

Any thoughts on RTA's decision to expand its bus lines?

Insurgent Lawmaker Wants Willie Horton In Every Democratic District!

Insurgent lawmaker wants to put more prisoners in a competitive district.

Republican Florida State Rep. Janet Akins admits that she's no fan of U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL). Akins wants to make it clear that Republicans can take her out. Brown represents the 5th Congressional District. The lawmaker resides in consolidated city-county of Jacksonville.

Her district is an example of extreme gerrymandering. She represents four metropolitan areas. Jacksonville population 843,000 is a majority Black city. Orlando population 258,000 is a tourist playground. Gainsville population 132,000 is a majority college town. Sanford population 60,000 is where the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman controversy occurred.

Brown's district is by far, the most controversial district in U.S. history.

Since in the inept Republicans took control of Congress and state governorships, they have the power to redistrict areas to their advantage.

The Supreme Court has limited a state party's majority control of the redrawing districts. At any given time, an independent agency could step in and make the districts more competitive and fair to those who reside in traditional holds.

Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D-FL)
Talking Points Memo got the dirt on this insurgent's closed door meeting. At the North Florida Republican caucus, Adkins said, "It's the perfect storm. You draw it in such a fashion so perhaps, a majority, or maybe not a majority, but a number of them will live in the prisons, thereby not being able to vote."

Of course this was recorded on tape and handed off to The Politico.

The Politico ran with it and of course the liberal agitators got wind of it. Now the Florida Republicans quickly put the muzzle on Adkins.

At first, she didn't expect the place to be bugged. Adkins made sure there were no reporters in the room before she made her comments, according to the report.

Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL), who is black, has filed a lawsuit to challenge the proposed redrawing of her district. She also told the Florida Senate Redistricting Committee that she was concerned that redrawing her district to include more prisons would lower its black voting population from 50 to 45 percent, according to Politico.

When Politico approached Adkins, who is white, about the comments she made on the recording, she said she was having a "private conversation" and noted that she does not serve on the state House redistricting committee.

Adkins said in a statement released later Wednesday that she was simply trying to explain what had been discussed in a special session on redistricting.

“My comments regarding the proposed realignment of congressional district five (as recommended by the Florida Supreme Court) were an attempt to explain some of issues that came up in debate during the redistricting special session,” Adkins wrote in a statement, as quoted by The Florida Times-Union. “I apologize if my statements offended anyone. Because congressional redistricting is a pending legal issue, I will not comment on this matter any further.”

Now you see what your local officials are doing behind closed doors. Imagine how the Republican led states waste our taxpayer dollars on trying to hold on to their power.

These are the people who get drive drunk and cause accidents on the road. These are the people who snort cocaine and then ask the poor to take drug tests for entitlements. These are the people who have children out of wedlock and yet bitch about the single mother who raising more than four children.
Gerrymandering in action. Rep. Corrine Brown represents the 5th U.S. Congressional district. A partisan drawn region that stretches over 200 miles.
These are the people who get arrested for shoplifting but tell you to get a job when you can't afford baby formula or cough syrup. These are the people who wrap themselves around the Chinese made American flags saying that in order to win elections, they would create controversies to frame an opponent or themselves.

These are the people who use the Bible in passing intrusive laws. But scream that Shir'a law is way worse than passing a state religion or religious indoctrination in public schools.

This is the Republican Party well on its way to extinction. Supporting an entertainer who shouts insults instead of policies is how brain dead the Republican Party is.

Sorry, if you continue to vote Republican, either you're a racist or you're just too damn stupid to understand.

By the way, the Democrats are no better. They are a joke as well. I wouldn't support any of these candidates for president. They all freaking suck.

What's your thoughts on this insurgent's negative comments about her constituents?

How Adkin's deliberate attempt to defeat Rep. Brown verifies the Democrats complaints about voter intimidation?

Conservative Outrage At Pope Francis! Seriously, The Pope!

Pope Francis delivers a speech at the Joint Session of Congress.

Getting upset over the most trivial things is something that runs common among conservatives.

When Pope Francis delivered a Joint Session of Congress, many Republicans sat and grumbled as he delivered issues that involved climate change, nuclear weapons, immigration and the repeal of the death penalty.

Many conservatives have the nerve to call The Pope, a "Marxist". For what reason?

Because some of his stances are considered liberal. You're overracting to this?

It would be funny if it wasn't sad to have this type of behavior expressed as a foreign leader who devotes his life towards peace. I guess in the minds of those self-serving conservatives, peace is blowing the hell out of those evil "MUSLIMS".

The Pope sympathizes with the poor and the needy. He knows the decline in the church. The church's decline is due the young losing faith in religion.

He is hopeful to change this around.

His mission is to bring to light the plight of the poor. His speech included a mention of the poor and how we can improve our lives. He also condemned those who were involved in the priest scandal. He promises to reform the Catholic church.

They even got upset at President Barack Obama for "bowing" to The Pope. Matter of fact, the airplane carrying the Pope was delayed a few minutes because of the U.S. Secret Service demands to wait until the president made it.

Conservatives getting upset at The Pope is pathetic.

The Pope was invited by the weeping Rep. John Boehner (R-OH). Boehner got really emotional after he gave Pope Francis a handshake.

Earlier this year, Boehner invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu without notifying the White House. In March, the controversial leader tried to influence Congress to not support the Six Party Iranian nuclear deal.

The nuclear deal was authorized on September 17.

White Extremist Craig Cobb Runs Leith, North Dakota!

Small town in rural North Dakota is becoming the mecca of White extremism.

One of the most dangerous extremist in the United States gets more attention. Byron Pitts of ABC News tried to get an interview with the notorious Neo-Nazi, Craig Cobb.

Cobb refuses an interview with the African American journalist. He called him a mulatto....and insert every racial slur. Cobb would hang up on Pitts and post his number on the hate web.

Of course, he warns the journalist not to come to Leith.

Cobb is by far the most craziest White extremist to ever exist. He is a bipolar sycophant who believes that he can create a pure White community in the remote communities in North Dakota. Cobb is a member of a fringe religion called Creativity Movement. The movement teaches the superiority of whites.

Cobb is on federal watch for potential terrorist attacks. So far, Cobb and many of his supporters (or flock) are willing to kill for the name of their "White god".

Cobb is very insane. He really takes any attack on him as an attack on the White race.

He often Google himself and find stories about him. He would troll the website and try to unearth the names of those who "call him out". Once he does, he post their phone number and social media pages on the hate webs. He will encourage his minions to harass the person he's singled out.

Leith, North Dakota is 175 miles from Bismark.
Good to be home! White extremist Craig Cobb plans on kicking the residents out of Leith, North Dakota.
It's a remote town that has a 98.2% White population. Cobb is trying to get rid of the only Black resident is the town.

In the movie Welcome to Leith, Cobb shares his vision of running the city. He wants White extremists to reside to his community. He wants it to be isolated from Blacks, Hispanics, Gays, Jews and Muslims. He wants pure White, Christian, conservative-minded individuals. Any supporters of the fuher, are welcomed to Leith.

The residents of the community fear that he's literally winning the battle. His flock of minions have came to set up shop. He wants to expand into a town called Antler.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights organization that tracks domestic extremists and potential terrorists have noted that Cobb's irrational behavior can pose a threat to residents.

He can come off as the "nice guy" who could actually be an "oddball". This behavior may result in violent outburst and threats of physical assault.

Man Tears Q'uran In Front Of Wright State University Students!

Bigot rips out the Q'uran in front of Wright State University students.

It was confirmed that the 2016 Presidential Debate will be held in Dayton, Ohio at Wright State University. The Republican and Democratic nominee will be here to debate the issues.

Wright State University is celebrating this event. It becomes a first for the university to host the first national debate. It will be televised on major networks and it will help Wright State get national exposure.

Ohio hasn't hosted a debate since 1980.

All this good news was disrupted by a bigot who came to cause some trouble. This man who wanted some local junk food media attention went to Wright State University to protest Islam. When he came to the campus, he brought him a Q'uran, the Islamic holy book. The local news agitators and national media are covering this controversy.

He would tear this holy book in front of the students causing a disruption.

The law couldn't do anything to stop him. He was within his right to be a bigot. But the damage is done.

WDTN reports that the man who wasn't a student came to cause trouble.

The video shows a man who is not enrolled at the university tearing up the Q'uran. As he screamed, “This is evil”, a growing crowd yelled back, “God is Love”.  A Wright State spokesperson says the man is a student who travels to campuses across the country to demonstrate.

Dearborn Cop Insults Woman For Having HIV!

Dearborn police doing damage control after one of the officer screwed up.

Dearborn Police had to owe up to a woman. After a routine pull over in the Detroit suburb, the officer was disrespectful to the motorist. She didn't have a license and held a medical marijuana license.

She was being treated for the HIV virus. The officer freaked out when he searched her vehicle for contraband.

She was cited for driving without a license. It got worse when she was insulted by the officer who felt it was his duty to shame her about her health status.

The Raw Story reports Shalandra Jones, who sued after a Dearborn, Michigan, police officer asked if she had HIV, has settled with the city for $40,000, the city and her attorney announced Tuesday.

Jones was in a car that was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in January 2014 and questioned by police officer David Lacey for having marijuana in the car, as first reported by the Detroit Free Press. Jones had a medical marijuana card as part of her HIV treatment, though the card had expired at the time of the incident.
Detroit area woman sues Dearborn Police for harassment.
The police officer asked if either the driver or Jones had any diseases while searching through Jones’s purse. Her companion said Jones has HIV. “She’s got earrings and shit I’m touching, and I don’t want to get anything,” Lacey said on a video recorded by his dash camera. “That might be something you want to tell a cop,” he said to the driver. Lacey then compared Jones to “drug addicts” who use needles to inject drugs.

Of course, if you're not affiliated with the criminal behavior, you can tell an officer not to search your vehicle or reveal your status unless given by a court order.

The deadly disease isn't gone. HIV cases have actually grown in the past three years. It's mostly due to the heroin epidemic and denial of the disease.

HIV is spread through sexual contact, sharing needles and breastmilk to children. Blood transfusions are limited. HIV if left untreated can become AIDS. HIV is not a death sentence. HIV cannot be cured but it can be treated. You can live a healthy life with the disease.

HIV is spread through anal, vagina and oral contact. Oral sex is oftentimes looked as null. But if not rarely, a person can catch contact from a person carrying if the person has blood or semen infected with the disease.

It's a dangerous disease that I hope I never get. I usually get tested every six months because like most men, we're sexually active. I normally wear condoms whenever I have sex with a woman. Often times, I've been reckless.

Many of the victims of HIV are usually unaware of the disease. Some practice in unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Some may share hypodermic needles without properly cleaning them.

Some are aware of the disease and they don't care. They rather punish others for their failures. Those who do that are often associated with the stroll and they're willing to put your life and their life at risk for contact.

These are the ones who carry the disease. These are the ones who may end up getting me and you!

World News Today wishes Shalandra Jones well on her journey.

The Nightly Show begins Season 2. Larry Wilmore is the host.
When Stewart announced his retirement from The Daily Show, Comedy Central confirmed that Noah will take the helm. Stewart ended his reign in July.

Trump: I'll Take Hannity Over The Rest Them!

Trump would rather go on this ass kissing agitator's program. The Donald is feuding with that network again.

Trump is once again aiming at that network. The network's GOP Sunday show and its primetime line up keeps lining up anti-Trump commentators who continue to denounce his "serious" bid for president.

Trump aimed at The Three Couch Nuts (Brian Kilmeade, Steve Doocy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck), the Smirking Chimp (Chris Wallace), Screeching Greta (Van Sustern), Bill O'Reilly (aka O'Loofus) and Megyn Kelly (aka The Outrage Princess) for allowing washed up pundits like Karl Rove, George Will and Charles Krauthammer on their programs.

Trump hasn't fully boycotted that network. He still has love for a few of them agitators on that network. Trump would rather gamble his chances on that ass kissing annoying conservative agitator Sean Hannity.

Trump believes that annoying conservative agitator will give him an opportunity to speak.

Out of the primetime line up, that annoying conservative agitator has been very kind to Trump and every Republican running.

Everyone except Jim Gilmore went on that annoying conservative agitator's program.

The network is easing up on Trump coverage. After the dust up in Ohio, Trump singled out Megyn for the reasons to why he avoids many appearances on that network.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton has froze out that network after lackey Ed Henry's disrespectful outburst towards her.

Clinton has appeared on CNN, CBS and ABC recently. She is making appearances on NBC and other outlets. No word on a GOP Sunday appearance on that network.

Megyn who is fuming over the "bimbo" comment is very eager to have him on to discuss these issues with her and the network.

Trump made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

As expected, Colbert gave him the works.

What Really Happened At Walker's Place?

Scott Walker ending his quest for the White House. Hopefully he will fade into the limelight.

As soon as he called it quits, many in the junk food media started to question his motives.

His departure was a shock to many of his supporters.

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker's rise to the top quickly came tumbling down when Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina stole his lead. The last poll released showed that Walker dropped from 15% to 0.3% in his seven month quest.

Some are saying that the well-discipline Scott Walker was hiding something. Maybe his Republican and Democratic opponents may have found something damaging to his campaign.

Anyway, Walker plea to the Republicans to end the nonsense and support a truly conservative candidate was ignored. As of right now, the front runner Trump is still ahead with Fiorina tailing close behind. Ben Carson took a drop after tepid debate performance and the "I don't want a Muslim president" comment.

What could it be?

Many finger his campaign manager. Some insiders want the cannon to fire on the campaign manager.

It may have involved something that Gawker and Buzzfeed was eager to release but had no full confirmation.

We may never know. But like John Edwards, I hope it's not a secret love child.

If They Only Knew How To Spell....

Notice something wrong in the banner.

Looks like pro-Confederate supporters forgot something. The "E" from hero. It's correctly spelled HEROES. A mistake that makes Confederate supporters look stupid.

They were counter protesting the Black Lives Matter.

Community activists and historic preservationists got help from an unusual source to draw attention to their protest today of monuments to Confederate leaders on Monument Avenue during the first day of training for the UCI Road World Championships.

A small plane carrying a banner with a Confederate battle flag and the phrase “Confederate heroes matter” circled above Monument Avenue, where the protest had gathered at the statue of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy.

But the drone of the aircraft did not drown the half-hour protest of the Richmond 2015 decision to make Monument Avenue a focal point of the world bicycle competition

The Black Lives Matter activists were protesting for the removal of monuments to Confederate soldiers. The counter protesters wanted to make their presence known.

It's unfortunate that their error in spelling will be cemented.

Pope Francis Meets President Barack Obama!

Pope Francis greets the Obama and Biden family.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met Pope Francis today at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington, DC.

The Obamas and Bidens shook hands with the Argentine-born pontiff as he made his way down a receiving line and was welcomed by young schoolchildren and warm cheers of "Hello, hey, hey, welcome to the USA."

Presidents rarely welcome foreign leaders at the airport, although President George W. Bush set a precedent when he met Pope Benedict XVI at Andrews in 2008.

Francis, 78, was whisked away in a small black Fiat 500L, headed for the Apostolic Nunciature, the Vatican's diplomatic mission in northwest Washington, where scores of people waved Argentine flags from behind a barricade.

He greeted some of them briefly outside the nunciature before ducking inside.

Pope Francis Korea Haemi Castle 19 (cropped).jpgThe six-day visit is marking the popular and unpredictable pope's first time in the United States and includes a packed schedule through Washington, New York and Philadelphia. There are also unprecedented security measures in each city as throngs of Catholic faithful travel to see him.

Pope Francis wraps up his trip to Cuba.

Pope Francis is very popular among Catholics and non-traditionalist church goers.

Formerly known as Jorge Mario Bergoglio (December 17, 1936), Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church, a title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, and Sovereign of the Vatican City.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bergoglio worked briefly as a chemical technician and nightclub bouncer before beginning seminary studies. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1969 and from 1973 to 1979 was Argentina's provincial superior of the Society of Jesus. He was accused of handing two priests to the National Reorganization Process during the Dirty War, but the lawsuit was ultimately dismissed. He became the Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998 and was created a cardinal in 2001 by Pope John Paul II. He led the Argentine Church during the December 2001 riots in Argentina, and the administrations of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner considered him a political rival.

Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI in 2013, a papal conclave elected Bergoglio as his successor. He chose Francis as his papal name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere and the first non-European pope since the Syrian Gregory III in 741.

Throughout his public life, Pope Francis has been noted for his humility, his concern for the poor, and his commitment to interfaith dialogue. He is known for having a humble approach to the papacy, less formal than his predecessors, for instance choosing to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse rather than the papal apartments of the Apostolic Palace used by his predecessors.

In addition, due to both his Jesuit and Ignatian aesthetic, he is known for favoring simpler vestments void of ornamentation, including refusing the traditional papal mozzetta cape upon his election, choosing silver instead of gold for his piscatory ring, and keeping the same pectoral cross he had when he was cardinal. He maintains that the Church should be more open and welcoming. Although he considers poverty a huge problem, he does not support unbridled capitalism, Marxism, or Marxist versions of liberation theology.

Francis maintains the traditional views of the church regarding abortion, euthanasia, contraception, homosexuality, ordination of women, and priestly celibacy. Francis opposes global warming, consumerism, and irresponsible development, a focus of his papacy with the promulgation of Laudato si'. In international diplomacy, he helped to restore full diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba.

The Pope is the leader of the Catholic church. Francis, who is of Argentine birth resides in Vatican City. The Vatican City is a tiny (heavily walled off) enclave country completely surrounded by the city of Rome, Italy.
