The entertainment world lost a very talented artist in comedy. The legendary Gene Wilder passed away today in Connecticut at the age of 83. Born Jerome Silberman in Milwaukee,
It was reported that he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. He kept his conditions secret and retired from acting in 2003.
If you haven't heard of him, you better get to know him. He is most famous for playing Willy Wonka in the movie Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. It's based off the novel Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. The movie has a strong cult following and it spawned the Willy Wonka Candy Company soon after. Nestle owns the company.
Gene was also in the cult classics The Producers,Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. These critically acclaimed movies were produced by legendary comedian/writer Mel Brooks.
Gene teamed up with Richard Pryor to make Silver Streak, Stir Crazy and See No Evil Hear No Evil.
He was married to famed comedian Gilda Radner. Radner a fellow comedian fell in love with him the moment she saw him on the movie set. They were married briefly.
Radner had suffered from stage IV ovarian cancer. Her doctors would not be able to save her and she died in 1989.
Gene was heartbroken and dedicated his life to charity. He would marry his acting coach who trained him to read lips. Gene played the role of a hearing impaired man in the See No Evil, Hear No Evil movie.
He would later marry Karen Boyer and the two would settle in Connecticut.
Gene was a talented actor, writer, painter and community activist.
In a surprising move, Comedy Central has put the breaks on Larry Wilmore's The Nightly Show.
Sources reporting for Variety have said that the two year run for the satirically Black comedy show is ending at 100 episodes. The sources cite the weak lead in from the departure of Jon Stewart as a contributing factor to the show being cancelled.
It also makes it troubling for Trevor Noah who took over for Stewart a year back.
He was the hand picked successor of Jon. The South African comedian and writer has been somewhat struggling with ratings as well. Noah and Wilmore weren't nominated for any Emmys this year.
Wilmore is unapologetically Black and brutality honest. He is very passionate about issues with Black America. He often is annoyed by the showboating antics of conservatives like "Softball" Hannity and Wisconsin sheriff David Clarke, Jr.
He was the host of President Barack last White House Correspondent Dinner this year.
This is some devastating news.
Also it seems like CBS is hoping to pick up steam with James Corden. The Late Late Show is on the rise. Its fueling rumors that Stephen Colbert isn't pleased about his follow up getting all the glory.
Wilmore was then the senior Black Correspondent for The Daily Show before he was promoted to host his own show.
Wilmore is co-executive producer of the Kenya Burris and Anthony Anderson comedy black-ish on ABC.
Actress Leslie Jones was harassed by some internet troll with a vendetta.
Comedian and actress Leslie Jones who is a featured player on SNL has an opportunity to address the nonsense of the internet. She was hit by this gay conservative jackass who writes for Breitbart.
He and his loyal band of bandwidth warriors trashed her and the movie that she was starring in.
Leslie is the star of the Sony comedy Ghostbusters. The movie is out in theaters and it's a success. It's a female version and it's attracted some controversy. Many die hard fans and conservatives are going nuts about the movie. They are trashing the movie online and singling out Leslie and her castmates for allegedly "ruining" the movie.
Many of the trolls have referred Leslie as an "ape" and one big "ugly woman".
Milo Yiannopoulos is dangerous individual on social media. He is a part of the GamerGate group that advocates spamming and trolling of people they deem liberal.
It did blow the spirit of the actress. Leslie who stands at 6 feet tall. Many of these asshats compared her to the gorilla shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo.
It almost drove her from social media. The social media website where all this nonsense came from was Twitter.
Twitter takes all these issues seriously. When Twitter was bombarded with complaints about this asshole, they finally ended his account. Yiannopoulos is banned from Twitter for LIFE.
He and Charles Johnson (of GotNews) are notorious internet trolls.
Leslie got the last laugh. She got an opportunity to address this troll and the support from her fans.
It's been a great four years on The Daily Show but the time is now for Jessica Williams to move forward. She announced on social media that she will leave The Daily Show and focus on her comedy podcast 2 Dope Queens.
Jessica is the youngest contributor to The Daily Show. Her announcement was reported by EW.
“I feel so many emotions,” Williams tells EW in an exclusive interview, which you can read in full below. “I feel like I’m growing up and graduating.”
Daily Show host Trevor Noah was similarly bittersweet about the news. “The sadness I have for Jessica leaving is only eclipsed by the joy I have for her starting her new show,” he said in an email. “If her podcast is anything to go by, it’s going to be an exciting show!”
Like a lot of Daily Show talent, Williams was a relative unknown when she joined the show in January 2012. Her debut quickly changed that: At 22, she was not only the youngest correspondent to work on the series but also the first black woman to hold the position. Now 26, she’ll be the first correspondent to step down since Noah took the reins from Jon Stewart nearly a year ago.
The folks over at Comedy Central bid farewell to Jessica.
On Thursday, Trevor Noah and the crew will give Jessica a special tribute to her work on The Daily Show.
Throughout her time at The Daily Show, Jessica laid some impressive and informative satire towards the issues facing Black America.
She boldly took on the issues such as the treatment of unarmed suspects by police, the Fox News Channel, interracial dating and how to deal with professional women in the workplace.
When Jon Stewart retired from The Daily Show, there was speculation that Jessica was going to be the next host. In the movie Hot Tub Time Machine, they had Jessica hosting The Daily Show.
One of the best moments is when Jessica, Wyatt Cynac and Larry Wilmore tore into Softball Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Matt Drudge for deliberately race-baiting in the 2012 U.S. presidential election.
World News Today wishes Jessica Williams well on her journey.
Social media once again exposes a problem with people sharing services such as Uber, Lyft and now Airbnb.
Airbnb is under fire after members complain about alleged racism from the people who rent out their homes. It became a hashtag #Airbnbwhileblack started trending on social media and it prompt a response from the co-founders Joe Gebbia and Brian Chesky.
The company helps people find and rent lodging. It has 1.5 million listings and operate in 34,000 cities and 190 countries.
A widely cited Harvard Business School study last year found "widespread discrimination" by Airbnb hosts against people with names that sounded distinctly black. And minority users who say their travel plans have been denied or canceled because of their race have rallied under the hashtag #AirbnbWhileBlack, appealing to the company to rein in a practice that was long ago outlawed in traditional hotels.
A woman was trying to rent a place from a guy in Charlotte, NC. The host named Todd Warner, got burned after ignored her request. The woman got her White female friend to rent the place. But when she called the host on the deliberate ignore, he posted on the woman's page that she's an UGLY NIGGER and he wouldn't rent his property to anyone who's Black.
He left a nice one "I hate NIGGERS, so I'm gonna cancel you. This is the south darling...find another place to rest your NIGGER head!"
The woman's friend Shani Taylor took her frustration to social media and it became the shot across the bow.
Soon other Black Airbnb users shared stories about how some of the host would look at them and void their contract. Some would have to recruit their White friends to engage in orders.
And the most infamous incident came into play when an interracial couple. Victoria Yore and her boyfriend Terrence Drysdale were shutdown after she puts a picture of them together.
When Victoria put her old profile picture on Airbnb, it got attention. The moment she posted her picture with Terrance, they would ignore the requests. They often traveled around the world because he's a professional photographer and she's a model.
They brought this to attention last month and since it's taken off, the president of the company spoke out against any of hosts discriminating against their clients.
Brian Chesky said from this point, anyone who denies any of the guests on the grounds of race, sexuality, nationality, religion and social status will be removed.
Jon Stewart was legendary host of The Daily Show. For 16 years, he hosted the nightly satire show on Comedy Central. He announced his retirement last year and he passed the baton to Trevor Noah.
When Jon heard that Donald J. Trump was running for president, he almost didn't want to leave. He was so hoping that he could get a couple of digs at the controversial billionaire. When Trump entered the race, everyone thought that Trump would fizzle out.
It didn't happen.
Trump is now the Republican presumptive nominee.
The Republicans are divided over how to deal with this.
Jon Stewart on The Late Show dressed as The Donald.
Jon offered a little bit of advice for the Republicans. He also took a jab at Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee.
In a taping of David Axelrod's Axe Files podcast, Stewart wondered if thin-skinned "man-baby" Donald Trump was even eligible to be president, CNN reports. "Are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby or a baby-man? I don't know," he said. "He has the physical countenance of a man and a baby's temperament and hands." Politico notes that Stewart also mocked Trump's campaign slogan, saying, "When was America great? What is this time that he speaks of? '81 to '82? Like what are we talking about?"
In true Daily Show style, Stewart was also scathing about the Democrats. "The door is open to an asshole like Donald Trump because the Democrats haven't done enough to show people that government, that can be effective for people, can be efficient for people," he said. "And if you can't do that, then you've lost the right to make that change and someone's going to come in and demagogue you." He described Hillary Clinton as a "very bright woman without the courage of her convictions"—but "that is not to say that she is not preferable to Donald Trump because, at this point, I would vote for Mr. T over Donald Trump."
I guess they didn't get it. On the conservative Craiglist, you see CNN's Don Lemon raising the third digit at the harsh jokes Larry Wilmore threw at the network and especially him.
“America's finest black journalists in the house. Don Lemon is here, too!”
Wilmore is the host of Comedy Central's The Nightly Show. He talks passionately about issues in Black America with a twist.
Wilmore sealed the deal. Brutally honest and right to the point. The White House Correspondents' Dinner was the final event that President Barack Obama will attend.
In his final year, the president gets one more opportunity to jab the press.
And then the comedian gets an opportunity to go after the president and the press.
Cue the conservative outrage.
Okay, Larry Wilmore was good. I mean he was really good! He brutally hit the junk food media so hard there were jeers from some. He had the most hard line jokes on Fox News, CNN and MSNBC.
Wilmore goes after conservatives when they complain about President Barack Obama using the race card.
When the comedian said that's "my Nigga" Obama, the audience gasped and of course conservatives lashed out as usual. They also got riled up over the joke where he called Ben Carson a jiggaboo.
“Your hair is so white, it tried to punch me at a Trump rally,” Wilmore joked. “The president’s hair is so white it keeps saying ‘All Lives Matter.’” Then, he added, “All I’m saying is that in less than eight years, Mr. President, you've busted two time-honored stereotypes, black does crack, and apparently once you go black, it looks like we are going back. Thanks, Ben Carson.”
He made fun of Wolf Blitzer's The Situation Room and how the CNN projection board and clock was too much.
He made fun of Fox News and their obsession with trying stifle #BlackLivesMatter. He also clowned on the network for being riled up over Black leaders and Harriet Tubman being on the $20 bill.
Obama drops the mic like a boss.
He made fun of MSNBC having Black hosts shafted around. In the wake of Melissa Harris-Perry and Al Sharpton drama, he mentions Chris Hayes and Lawrence O'Donnell's frustration with the network pre-empting their shows.
You know that Todd Sternes went ballistic over this. Breitbart went nuts. Conservatives were screaming racism when Wilmore went there.
I mean going there is a part of comedy.
Wilmore skerred Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. He didn't have much to say about John Kasich.
For all that are interested in the events of tonight, you may see the White House Correspondents' Dinner tonight. Most of the cable news agitators will cover tonight's event.
This will be President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's last appearance at the annual ball of journalists, celebrities and lawmakers.
Larry Wilmore of The Nightly Show will be the host of tonight's event.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the Democratic candidate for president will be there in attendance. The others declined attending.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his running mate Carly Fiorina declined attendance.
Wilmore who is the senior Black host and commentator on The Nightly Show and The Daily Show will be skerring Trump.
In 2011, Trump attended the event at the peak of his feud with the president over his birth certificate.
Obama will likely go after Donald Trump, Fox News, The Drudge Report and CNN.
Obama hammered Trump for that one. Seth Meyers was mocking Trump, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and father Ron Paul for their stupid ambitions of running for president. The president was laughing and having a good time. He also was being fed information about a major break in the fight against terrorism.
To add insult to Trump, on the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice, NBC News interrupted the program to announce that U.S. forces caught Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. This will be fifth anniversary of the successful raid that lead to the capture of the al Qaeda leader.
The cast of black-ish, Modern Family, Scandal, House of Cards, The Daily Show, and Empire will be in attendance.
I will give you the livestream if you're interested in watching the event. You can visit the official White House live feed for all events that features the Obamas, Vice President Joe Biden and Press Secretary Josh Ernest.
The good folks over at The Daily Show took on online dating. The websites OKCupid, POF.com, Badoo, Tinder, and MeetMe are popular websites for singles.
I've told you before that I've dated women who have checkered past. I've vented through World News Today. Some of the women I've dating in the past were Black, White and Hispanic. Age doesn't matter to me. Interesting conversation and a good heart is the only thing I ask for.
Trevor Noah and his crack team of investigators make the case for why it's so hard for certain singles to find love. Jessica Williams and Ronny Chieng brought attention to social media and online dating.
"There is kind of a systemic racial bias pretty much in every dating site I've ever looked at," said Christian Rudder, co-founder of OkCupid. He tells Williams and Chieng that "dataclysm" is primarily a factor to the unprecedented bias and often ignored requests.
"We found that 82 percent of non-Black men have some bias against Black women... And Asian men get the fewest messages and the worst ratings of any group of guys."
Jessica Williams and Ronny Chieng take on social media and the bigots online looking for love.
Isn't it OK to have preferences when it comes to finding a partner?
As "The Daily Show" segment explained, the discriminatory behavior exhibited by many online daters appeared to stem not from "preferences" at all, but from deep-rooted stereotypes evident in statements like, "[you're] pretty for a black girl" or in outrageous assumptions such as all Asian men having small penises.
In an outtake posted to social media, Williams and Chieng shared other offensive comments made on online dating profiles with writer Zach Stafford.
"Vanilla or spice, no chocolate or rice," read one, with "chocolate" being a reference to black people and "rice" being a reference to Asians.
"People really like using food to talk about their racism," Stafford quipped.
Romeo Rose faced scrutiny after he placed on his dating profile he will not date Black women. He said that Black women look like monkeys and if he was ever in a relationship with any women who dated a Black person, he would dump the beast.
Remember Romeo Rose. He still looking for the right woman who is willing to date him. The hapless idiot from Austin is still trolling online dating websites. This was the guy who is looking for a woman who is Blonde, height 5'3" to 5'9", under 120lbs, conservative-minded and talented. He won't date any woman who has slept with Black men or have male friends that are Black. He will not date any Black women. He believes that Black women are monkeys and women who slept with Black men are fucking animals.
A real winner, ladies.
The idiot insulted host Caitlyn Becker on her looks on HuffPost Live. Since then, he has gained infamy for being one of the most disgusting human beings to ever exist. He gets a fair share of death threats and swipes to the left on Tinder.
Word of advice for the singles who's looking for the special someone: DON'T ACT LIKE A RACIST!
Bill O'Reilly is totally clueless when it comes to Black America. Obviously, O'Reilly doesn't understand the plight of Black America. He actually believes that Black unemployment is contributed to tattoos on foreheads.
O'Reilly had an interview with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. O'Reilly said that in a previous interview Tavis Smiley, the liberal agitator called Trump a "racial arsonist". Trump relentlessly brings up the Black unemployment rate under President Barack Obama. Like a blowhard, Trump promises to win the Black vote in huge margins. He says that Obama's policies were a disaster and whatever word vomit he concocted.
O'Reilly went ahead and gave his opinion about the unemployment in the Black community.
I guess he didn't have ass tatted on his head.
"Many of them are ill-educated and have tattoos on their foreheads, and I hate to be generalized about it — but it’s true. If you look at all the educational statistics, how are you going to give jobs to people who aren’t qualified for jobs?"
That comment right there lit a shit storm of anger from the Black community. O'Reilly's latest remark goes into a long and quite frequent record of racially agitating issues that plague him and that network.
To make such utter generalizations of a group you have no connection to is basically one of the reasons to why many in the Black community believe that O'Reilly is a dick. More of a racist dick.
Larry Wilmore wanted to give O'Reilly a shout out! Larry wanted to show some love to Bill and his distaste for ill-educated Blacks with tattoos on their foreheads.
The most unusual feud in entertainment. Atlanta rapper/singer B.o.B taking on astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. This stemmed from an argument over the Earth. The rapper is a flat-earther and he's adamant about it.
I'm so shocked but not surprised that B.o.B would tick off one of the coolest nerds in the world.
B.o.B went to social media to talk about the Earth being flat. The rapper rejects claims about the Earth being round. He mocks the scientific community and it touched a nerve with Neil.
So on social media, Bobby Ray went to the Twitterverse to explain his thoughts on the Earth being flat.
The cities in the background are approx. 16miles apart... where is the curve ? please explain this pic.twitter.com/YCJVBdOWX7
So once again, Neil goes to The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore to drop the mic on B.o.B.
The scientist responded to a B.o.B. diss by schooling the rapper on exactly why he's wrong, making points about Calculus and B.o.B.'s "size" relative to Earth.
Neil deGrasse Tyson explains gravity to B.o.B by dropping the mic. He burned the Atlanta rapper.
"Isaac Newton, my man, said, 'If I have seen farther than others, it's by standing on the shoulders of giants.' Can I get an amen? So that’s right B.o.B. When you stand on the shoulders of those who came before, you might just see far enough to realize the Earth isn't fucking flat!"
He added, "And, by the way, this is called gravity!"
Neil let him have it. He said that influential celebrities such as B.o.B have a right to say the Earth is flat. But if you're broadcasting that to an audience who antagonizes common sense and reality, you've proven to the world you're an idiot. He basically said, entertainers such as B.o.B, as well as politicians (i.e. Donald Trump and Ted Cruz) are pretty much "Flatline".
The song that was posted by Neil was called Flat to Fact (a take on Back to Back by Drake).
It goes hard on Bobby Ray....
But what you're going to love is the video of Neil deGrasse Tyson on The Nightly Show.
Trevor Noah announces his lineup for The Daily Show.
The anticipated return of The Daily Show comes Sept. 28.
Trevor Noah will take the helm of Comedy Central's primetime political satire show. The South African comedian and writer was chosen after Jon Stewart retired from the program. Stewart host the program for over 15 years. Stewart recently won an Emmy for The Daily Show.
The program was an anchor to liberals who enjoyed Stewart's hard hitting satire towards Washington lawmakers and media agitators. Noah came to The Daily Show in 2014. His memorable segment "Spot The Africa" was an instant hit.
The Nightly Show begins Season 2. Larry Wilmore is the host.
When Stewart announced his retirement from The Daily Show, Comedy Central confirmed that Noah will take the helm. Stewart ended his reign in July.
Noah is mum on the new set and what's expected from his reign. He admits that he's got a lot to fill, but he's willing to make it happen.
He confirms that Kevin Hart, Whitney Wolfe, Republican contender Chris Christie, Ryan Adams and surprises.
The Daily Show will premiere on Monday. The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore is already in Season 2. Wilmore was picked as Stephen Colbert's successor. Colbert had went to CBS to become the host of The Late Show.
Actor Damon Wayans goes to the junk food media to defend his mentor, Bill Cosby.
The nation of Cosby collapsed after numerous accusations of rape and sexual assault allegations came forth. In a sworn testimony, Cosby admitted to using items that would make women extremely tired.
Wayans is not convinced that Cosby did this. He went on The Breakfast Club to defend him.
"If I was him, I would divorce my wife, wink-wink, give her all my money, and then I would go do a deposition," says the actor. "I'd have some wine and maybe a Quaalude, and I would just go off, because I don’t believe that he was raping."
"It’s a money hustle". Wayans continued, saying, "Forty years — listen, how big is his penis that it gives you amnesia for 40 years? If you listen to them talk, they go, ‘Well, the first time…’ The first time? Bitch, how many times did it happen? Just listen to what they’re saying and some of them really is unrape-able. I look at them and go, ‘You don’t want that. Get outta here.’”
Again understanding that rape is traumatic and 90% of the time, rape goes unreported.
Wayans is ignorant. Many rape victims often don't report their accuser because of power, the state of belief and money. Cosby obviously paid off women when he was caught doing it. I mean he's often trying to keep his legacy afloat. He would gladly silence an accuser if it stopped her from revealing his horrible deeds.
The famous Cosby frown.
Wayans don't see that some rape victims would commit suicide or have an unwanted pregnancy.
When Cosby was accused by a woman of fathering her child, he denied it. Shawn Upshaw, the mistress and her daughter Autumn Jackson tried to extort him. Jackson got some time in the iron college for this event. Many people sided with Cosby on that issue. Despite failed attempts to get a DNA test, Cosby refuses to acknowledge this.
Wayans should be very careful about his words. He could face some serious backlash for his comments. Trust me, rape is not funny or a rite of passage. It's a serious criminal act and it could land you in the iron college for LIFE or in some cases death.
In this gotcha media society, you have to have proof that a rape occurred.
Concern trolls often shame a rape victim.
"She shouldn't have dressed like that!"
"She always slept around!"
"She said that she wanted to have sex!"
"She cries rape to get attention!"
"He should be raped in prison!"
"He had it coming"
"Like, most high school boys, they don't care if they bang the teacher!"
Did you know the first Black family of comedy are the Wayans.
Keenen Ivory, Damon, Marlon, Shawn, Kim, Damon, Jr., Chaunte, and Damien Wayans are entertainers, comedians, writers and producers. They each had a hand in either a movie, a sitcom or animated series.
Keenen and Damon created In Living Color, the iconic sketch comedy on Fox. The show lasted for five seasons. It sparked the careers of Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey and Larry Wilmore.
The end of the road for Jon Stewart. The Daily Show finished second to the Republican debate.
Thanks to Jon Stewart for 16 great years hosting The Daily Show on Comedy Central.
He ends his bid as the host of the political satire show. I mean the left is so disappointed he didn't want to stay through the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections. Especially with Donald Trump running.
Trevor Noah will take the helm in late September. He will bring his A game to an already skeptical audience.
But as with the Stephen Colbert departure, it's going to be hard to accept but we'll move forward.
John Oliver went to host Last Week Tonight on HBO. He made an appearance.
Wyatt Cenac, Samantha Bee, Steve Carell, Jessica Williams, Jason Jones, Kristen Schaal, Larry Wilmore, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Che, Mo Rocca and Craig Kilborn made appearances on the show.
The best of the show was the appearance of Stephen Colbert. Colbert ended the Colbert Report this year to join CBS as the host of The Late Show. He got a big spot to fill now that David Letterman retired. Same standard. Colbert will bring his A game to an audience used to see Dave run the show.
His departure came around the Republican debate. Stewart would have found a whole lot of zen in this debate. Especially with the hosts of that network he called Bullshit Mountain.
Chief Roger said in a parting shot that Jon's efforts didn't stop his network. Matter of fact, Roger said that his impact helped bring more to the network.
Don't worry too much, I am guessing that Jon will turn up somewhere. Don't think retirement is the end of a career.
black-ish deals with a family member coming out as a Republican.
ABC sitcom featuring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross takes on Black conservatism.
black-ish is a go for a second season. The show is one of the very few Black sitcoms on right now.
It was created by Anderson, Kenya Barris, Laurence Fishburne and Larry Wilmore.
black-ish, Fresh off the Boat and Cristela were ABC freshman sitcoms that featured a diverse family.
In the end, two survived the cut. Cristela was cancelled.
black-ish is still strong despite a slight drop in ratings. Mostly due to the Fox juggernaut Empire hitting the 9pm spot. Modern Family and black-ish had strong lead ins before Empire took to the scene.
The cast of black-ish, a hit comedy on ABC.
In this episode, it certainly pokes fun at the Republican Party and Black conservatives. Even a jab at that cable news channel that scares White folks.
It also gives you an idea of Black voters and their support of the Democratic Party. The Republican Party still has trouble cracking over 20% of the vote. The party is struggling to pull in Black and Hispanic voters.
Stallmigos Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Benjamin Carson are non-White candidates.
Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal may declare his intentions. Another non-White candidate.
Carly Fiorina is a woman. A woman who is running besides Hillary Clinton.
But yet, they're not even appealing to Black voters.
In the words of black-ish: Republicans! We Just Don't Do That!
Reason you may ask!
The Republican Party comes off as condescending assholes. They don't understand the struggle. Even though many Black Americans are struggling with jobs, education and a sense of pride, the Black community continues to put their trust in the Democratic Party. The Democrats believe in the middle class, fairness and a leg up. They encourage hard work for equal pay and time off.
Many believe that the rich should pay a little more in taxes because it's the driving factor to why the middle class is shrinking. That's probably why Obama mentioned this during his Georgetown University speech.
Dre and Bow meet Junior's girlfriend's parents. They find out they're Black Republicans.
Republicans can say that Obama hasn't done anything for Black America. They are right. I mean he's got the My Brother's Keeper policy and it's hardly being mentioned by the junk food media.
He's proposed many ideas that would certainly help the middle class. The minimum wage, fair labor practices, banning non-gender/sexuality/criminal history hiring policies and an infrastructure bill were on the docket.
This stuff is stalled with a Republican congress. They're too busy trying to ban late term abortion and allowing a Canadian conglomerate to build a pipeline through the Midwest.
Republicans will say Obama's doing too much for Black America whenever he speaks on issues facing Black America. And for the record, it's been going on for over 50 years, it doesn't seem like it's going to change in the seven years of Obama's presidency nor in the years to come.
The first thing that comes out of the mouth of a Republican is the past. They can't admit that the Democratic Party changed its ways. The political party nominated twice the first Black candidate for president.
Second, many successful and failed Democratic nominees pull over 90% of the Black vote.
Republicans make race an issue now that Barack Obama wanted to run. They believe that passing restrictive voting measures may prevent those from voting on race, gender, and political affiliations.
They believe that Blacks are committing voter fraud and the such.
Yeah, Blacks are proud that we got the first and we're not ashamed to vote for Obama.
Republicans offer nothing of interest to the Black community.
In the minds of most Republicans and conservatives, they see Black people as criminals, lazy, immoral and believe race is over in America. Conservatives expects us to owe them for 159 years of their past Republican policies. Note the Republicans of yesterday are the Democrats today. The Democrats of yesterday are the Republicans now.
The Republican Party is like cocaine. It's 90% WHITE 10% EVERYTHING else.
This episode, Elephant in the Room is dealing with Dre (Andre) and (Rainbow) Bow's oldest son Junior joining the Young Republicans club. This revelation shocks the family.
Junior joins a political party club because of his views on issues and he's trying to win affection from a hot girl who is a member. Dre and Bow meet Junior's new girl's family. And things gone terribly wrong.
Bumper Robinson plays a Black Republican father.
In a separate segment, oldest daughter Zoey gets a pair of glasses. And her younger siblings Jack and Diane hate the fact that she's getting more attention for wearing them.
It also features a clip of Real Time with Bill Maher.
The comedy series will rile up conservatives. Because of the liberal views of the characters and it certainly mocks Republicans notably Benjamin Carson, the only Black candidate so far running in the clown car.
The cast of black-ish was there for the White House Corespondents Dinner.
Comedian Trevor Noah is the new host for The Daily Show.
Jon Stewart is stepping down from The Daily Show later this year. Who's to replace him?
One who just joined the Comedy Central program is already getting major buzz as the predecessor.
Trevor Noah is getting some major buzz. The South African actor/comedian joined The Daily Show and took off.
Noah had a major role on the South African soap opera, Isidingo in 2002, when he was 18. He then began hosting his own radio show Noah’s Ark on Gauteng’s leading youth radio station, YFM. Noah then went on to host an educational program Run The Adventure from 2004–06 on SABC 2. In 2007 he hosted The Real Goboza, a gossip show on SABC 1, and Siyadlala a SABC's sports show. In 2008 Noah co-hosted alongside Pabi Moloi on The Amazing Date (dating game-show) and was a Strictly Come Dancing (celebrity dance competition) contestant in Season 4. In 2009 he hosted the 3rd Annual South Africa Film and Television Awards (SAFTA Awards) and co-hosted alongside Eugene Khoza on The Axe Sweet Life (reality competition series) at the 15th annual South African Music Awards. In 2010 Noah hosted the 16th annual South African Music Awards and also hosted Tonight with Trevor Noah on MNet (in the second season it moved to DStv's Mzansi Magic Channel).
In 2010, Noah also became a spokesperson and consumer protection agent for Cell C, South Africa's third largest cellular provider.
Noah dropped his radio show and acting to focus on comedy, and has performed with South African comedians such as Riaad Moosa, Darren Simpson, Marc Lottering, Barry Hilton and Nik Rabinowitz, international comedians such as Paul Rodriguez, Carl Barron, Dan Ilic and Paul Zerdin, and as the opening act for Gabriel Iglesias in November 2007 and Canadian comedian Russell Peters on his South African tour.

He's in the running. With Larry Wilmore running The Nightly Report, Jason Jones and his wife Samantha Bee leaving, Michael Che joining SNL, Jessica Jones out ruling hosting duties, Stephen Colbert jumping to CBS and John Oliver moving to HBO, we can't determine who's going to replace an icon of comedy, politics and sanity.
Everyone is speculating that Comedy Central may appoint an insider. The outsider speculation includes: Tiny Fey, John Fugelsang, and Patton Oswalt being named as potential picks.
But all eyes are on Trevor and the media is buzzing about him.
Confirmed.
Trevor is the new host of The Daily Show. Comedy Central broke the news today.
The news breaking is that Comedy Central's Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show, a series that he's been hosting since 1999.
Stewart who has been a fixture among the faithful watchers is resigning at the end of the year. The Comedy Central president released a statement:
“For the better part of the last two decades, I have had the incredible honor and privilege of working with Jon Stewart. His comedic brilliance is second to none. Jon has been at the heart of Comedy Central, championing and nurturing the best talent in the industry, in front of and behind the camera. Through his unique voice and vision, ‘The Daily Show’ has become a cultural touchstone for millions of fans and an unparalleled platform for political comedy that will endure for years to come. Jon will remain at the helm of ‘The Daily Show’ until later this year. He is a comic genius, generous with his time and talent, and will always be a part of the Comedy Central family,” Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless.
No replacement has been announced for Stewart.
This comes fresh after hearing that Stephen Colbert announced his departure for The Late Show on CBS. Writer and director Larry Wilmore teamed up Stewart to create The Nightly Show.
Comedy Central announced that the comedy writer and director Larry Wilmore will replace Stephen Colbert effective March 2015.
The Daily Show's "Senior" Black correspondent who often goes hard on Republicans and the Tea Party for its not so subtle racism is going to follow Jon Stewart, the head hancho of the program.
The Colbert Report will be renamed The Minority Report.
Wilmore and his brother Marc have been comedy writers for The Bernie Mac Show, In Living Color and The Jamie Foxx Show.
Wilmore as an actor have appeared on Damon Wayans, Jr.'s comedy Happy Endings, In Living Color, and The Facts of Life.
His brother Marc was also a feature on In Living Color and a writer for The Simpsons.
Stephen Colbert was announced as the successor to David Letterman when he retires from The Late Show.
Colbert has hosted The Colbert Report since 2005 and has been a target of criticism by the likes of O'Loofus (by whom Colbert refers to as "Papa Bear").
Well wishes to Larry on his new gig.
Well wishes to Stephen on his new late night spot.
