Pan-African News Wire: Reflections of Fidel Castro: The World Half a Century Later: "AS the Revolution celebrated its 51st anniversary two days ago, memories of that January 1st of 1959 came to mind. The outlandish idea that, after half a century — which flew by — we would remember it as if it were yesterday, never occurred to any of us.
During the meeting at the Oriente sugar mill on December 28, 1958, with the commander in chief of the enemy’s forces, whose elite units were surrounded without any way out whatsoever, he admitted defeat and appealed to our generosity to find a dignified way out for the rest of his forces. He knew of our humane treatment of prisoners and the injured without any exception. He accepted the agreement that I proposed, although I warned him that operations under way would continue. But he traveled to the capital, and, incited by the United States embassy, instigated a coup d’tat."

Britain must produce more food, government to warn - Telegraph
Britain must produce more food, government to warn - Telegraph: "A soaring global population, climate change, diminishing energy sources and depleted fish stocks mean that society can no longer be complacent about its ability to feed itself, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) will say. Setting out a comprehensive food strategy for the next 20 years, ministers will also say that:
* The public must accept genetically-modified food; The Sunday Telegraph has campaigned for country-of-origin labelling and highlighted cases where consumers are misled as to where their food comes from. However, the Government will stop short of promising compulsory labelling and will instead recommend a voluntary scheme.
* The EU's Common Agricultural Policy adds £52 a year to every Briton's annual food bill; and
* Food should be clearly labelled with its country of origin, to help consumers choose.

Thanks Peruanista for writing this article. It confirms everything about antiblack/anti-indigenous racism around the world via the mass media. Racism/sexism isn't limited to the U.S. Latin Americans, Europeans and British have a poor history of race relations as well.

colour-blind racism « Abagond: "The “Bring Me Home a Black Girl” debate between Ms. Walsh and Ms. Edwards at Salon.com.
Ms. Audrey Edwards:
Ms. Walsh:
I read with great interest your critique of my article “Bring Me Home a Black Girl,” in the November issue of Essence. To begin with, the article never stated, nor have I ever told my son not to “date” white girls. He has always had a number of white friends, male and female alike; he has escorted white girls to proms, and continues to have friendships with whites now that he is in college. I have also dated white men, but married a black man, and want my son to marry a black girl. This to me is normal, natural and what people of all races, tribes, ethnic groups and nationalities have done for eons. To say that “no mainstream magazine today would publish a comparable piece by a Caucasian mom exhorting her son to ‘Bring me home a white girl!’” is a bit disingenuous, don’t you think? White moms don’t have to give such messages to their kids. It’s implicit in everything they do — from the neighborhoods they live in, to the schools and churches they attend, to the social organizations they belong to. Whites still live, for the most part, in a segregated white world, so it’s natural that their children will marry other whites. But just watch what happens when they don’t! You yourself admitted that most of the hostility to your interracial dating came from other whites, not blacks."

White Reactions to Interracial Unions Between People of Color - ColorQ Articles Etc
White Reactions to Interracial Unions Between People of Color - ColorQ Articles Etc: "White Reactions to Interracial Unions Between People of Color
Many people react negatively to seeing a member of their ethnic group with a member of another ethnic group. To play devil's advocate, let's claim the 'what is one of our women/men doing with an outsider?' reaction is almost 'natural'. Hold your flames. I am NOT against interracial unions. I am just stating that it is not incomprehensible that people (of any race) might feel, rightly or wrongly, that they should stick with their own kind." Read more on this by clicking the above link.
Sad, but true. Why does it have to be that in any IRs, white has to factor in each one. That mainstream media rarely covers IRs between peoples of Color, i.e. black and Asian, Asian and Hispanic, etc. It's the Eurocentric bias that's gets under my skin everytime the media tells professional, well-educated single black women to date outside, preferably white men but you don't see the two paired together nor would they interview real-life BW/WM married couples. Nor does the media tell the sistas to date/marry Hispanic, African, Arab, Native American, Asian/PI, multiracial men either.

Emma & Daunte Culpepper: The Black Blind Side
I'm sure by now must have heard the story of Michael Oher who was adopted by a white family and made it to the NFL beacuse of the blockbuster movie "The Blind Side". But how many know that one time NFL star Daunte Culpepper was also adopted? How many know that his adoptive mother was black? Her name was Emma Culepper. Read an article from 1999 about this amazing woman that passed away in 2007 by using the link below:

From The Obsidian Files
Why do plus-sized women get so much hate? It's because the narrowmindedness of the game community. Roissy, Half Sigma, etc., are really hard on such women and that's pitiful. They would waste their life bashing women instead of being open to their personalities and their humanity.
