Fine barely won the seat. Since he became a member of Congress, he has started agitating Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and pro Palestinian protesters.

Mars, Nestle, and Hershey's will raise the prices of chocolate.
Hershey and other chocolate makers are continuing to hike prices, saying a volatile cocoa market gives them no choice.
Hershey, the maker of Reese’s, Whoppers, barkThins and other chocolate candies, said Wednesday that it will be raising U.S. retail prices later this fall. In some cases, pack sizes will get smaller; in others, list prices will rise. The average price increase will be in the low double-digit percentages.
“This change is not related to tariffs or trade policies. It reflects the reality of rising ingredient costs including the unprecedented cost of cocoa,” Hershey said in a statement.
Hershey stressed that the price increases won’t apply to products specially packaged for Halloween.
On Tuesday, Swiss chocolatier Lindt said it raised prices by 15.8% in the first half of this year. The company said it was able to offset some of the higher cost of cocoa with long-term contracts but had to pass much of it on to consumers.
“The development of the global chocolate market in the first half of 2025 was a continuation of what we saw in 2024, with cocoa prices remaining close to record highs,” said Adalbert Lechner, Lindt’s CEO, in a conference call with investors.
Cloetta, a Swedish confectionary company, told investors last week that it raised chocolate prices in the second quarter. And Nestle raised U.S. prices for products like Toll House chocolate chips in the spring.
Cocoa prices have more than doubled over the past two years due to poor weather and disease in West Africa, which supplies more than 70% of the world’s cocoa.
Cocoa futures, which are binding contracts for a specific quantity of cocoa, stood at $7,380 per metric ton on Wednesday, according to the International Cocoa Organization, which releases a daily average of prices in London and New York.
That’s down from December’s peak of $11,984, but it’s still 121% higher than two years ago.
And the situation remains volatile. According to the International Cocoa Organization, prices surged in early June on concerns about production in Ivory Coast but eased on optimistic forecasts for production in Ghana and Latin America. They rose again in late June after heavy rains in West Africa, which could worsen the outbreak of diseases that harm crops.
“It’s almost a bit dangerous to comment on this because it’s changing so fast,” Cloetta Chief Financial Officer Frans Ryden said last week in a conference call with investors. “This is something that’s moving hugely up and down all the time.”
Meanwhile, prices have been rising on store shelves. The average unit price of a chocolate bar in the U.S. in July 2021 was $2.43, according to Nielsen IQ, a market research company. As of last week, it was $3.45, a 41% increase.
That’s hurting customer demand. Nielsen said unit sales of chocolate fell 1.2% in the year ending July 12.
Tariffs could also impact U.S. prices. President Donald J. Trump threatened a 21% tariff on cocoa and other products from Ivory Coast in April, for example, but then paused the tariffs’ implementation.
The National Confectioners Association is asking the Trump administration to protect cocoa from tariffs. The group says the U.S. imports nearly $4.4 billion in chocolate, cocoa and candies each year, and the association’s members export nearly $2 billion in American-made chocolates and candy annually.

Brian and Jill Griffeth, along with 21-year-old Dallin and 19-year-old Liberty Griffeth were arrested for sex trafficking, torture, child abuse and negligence of duties.
These individuals adopted Black children and tortured them. Their other children these monsters had by birth were also victims too.
These four adults were arrested after being accused of abusing nine children in their Florida home by caging them with plywood under a bunk bed and spraying them in the face with vinegar as a form of punishment, authorities said Friday.
The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The four adults are suspected of abusing five biological and four adopted children — ages 7 to 16 — at their home in Fort White, Florida, roughly 35 miles northwest of Gainesville, the sheriff’s office said.
The suspects are accused of beating the children with a cane, locking them in their bedrooms and giving them nonprescribed medication, according to the sheriff’s office.
The children had also been instructed to lie about what was happening in their home and were not taken to or provided with adequate schooling to read or write, the sheriff’s office said.
All nine of the children have been court-ordered to be removed from the home, authorities added.
The investigation into the Griffeths began when a mandatory reporter at their local church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Branford, Florida, raised concerns about the children, according to the statement. A “mandatory reporter” is a professional who is legally required to report suspected cases of child abuse or neglect.
While at church camp a few days prior to the arrests, one of the children was caught with a functioning electronic stun gun, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office added that investigators believed the adopted children were “being treated unfairly compared to the Griffeth biological children, in addition to the children not knowing their full name or their own birthdays.”
When Department of Children and Families investigators interviewed the family in their home, “it was noted that the adopted children were working on chores, while the biological children were playing or watching TV,” according to the statement.
Bond for all of the adults was set at $500,000 each.
The Griffeths could be immediately reached for comment. It is not clear if they have obtained legal representation.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department in South Carolina arrested a man who just decided to use his Second Amendment on a stranger. He decided to shoot at a Black jogger and use racial slurs to boot.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott identified the suspect who was the first arrest under the county’s new hate intimidation ordinance.
Lott said 33-year-old Jonathan Felkel was arrested Thursday and charged with violating the ordinance as well as assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Felkel’s charges are linked to a July 17 incident on Brooksprings Road. RCSD said deputies met with a victim who said they were shot at while jogging in the neighborhood at around 6 a.m.

RCSD said Felkel made several comments following his arrest, saying he opened fire to scare the victim because of their race.
The sheriff’s department also noted this alleged exchange between investigators and Felkel:
Felkel: “So I went down there and I seen a man standing in the bushes, it was a Black man in a white shirt, just standing out there at 4 in the morning, and I saw him there and he was by himself so I was really going to do something at first and then...”
Investigator: “What do you mean by that?”
Felkel: “Well, I was going to shoot at him. I was. I was going to shoot at him.”
Lott also noted that Felkel and the victim live in the same neighborhood, but did not know each other and had no prior history.
Felkel was granted a $1 million cash bond at a hearing on Friday on the assault and weapons charge. A cash bond notably requires the full amount to be paid in cash.
A judge additionally set a nearly $1,100 bond for the hate intimidation charge.

Richland County became the first county in South Carolina to pass a hate intimidation ordinance in June. The law makes hate intimidation a misdemeanor, punishable by a $500 fine or up to 30 days in jail.
Spring Valley neighbors are at a loss for words as they watch the video.
“It makes me feel uneasy being in this neighborhood,” said Theo Blue, one neighbor. “It’s very unfortunate. The fact that things like this are still happening in this day and age makes me kind of feel unsafe, especially having young ones growing up around here.”
Erin Bower, another neighbor, said she believes racism is still a systemic problem.
“It honestly really breaks my heart for people of color everywhere, but particularly for people of color who live in this neighborhood,” she said.
But what’s even scarier for Spring Valley resident Ryon Miro is the fact that the State of South Carolina does not have a hate crime law.
“That man just felt like he can do that, and there was nothing that he felt was stopping him from doing that, so I feel like we do need a law or at least more knowledge of this ordinance,” he said.
Harold Friedman says he agrees with his neighbors.
“Minority hate is terrible and it shouldn’t exist in this country, period,” he said.

According to the far right, almost all white [or non-white] mass shooters are registered Democrats [or some progressive activist] because they have liked or done one thing common to the left. Of course, they often share or post disinformation by using the "Sam Hyde" meme or make bogus social media platforms with the shooter's image as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white or associated with conservative causes. The far right says a white person should "protect" themselves from thugs, terrorists or protesters. They believe the use of firearms are "justified" if they are protesting or even instigating a conflict. The far right believes if a shooter is a police officer, an active military member, a veteran or a citizen who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and use of firearms are justified. If the shooters are teens in urban communities, the far right automatically assumes the gunmen are Black.
The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox, Twitter and they force it into national news. They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican legislators who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms.
Holding these lawmakers accountable is not just a pledge, but a promise. You need to learn who represents your community. Your local community member, your school board member, your mayor, your state representative, your state senator, your governor, your U.S. Representative, your U.S. Senator and the president need to be held accountable for their actions.
We need to put pressure on Republicans and Democrats to do something to improve everyone's lives.Keep pressure on them with Israel.
Israel must be held accountable for war crimes and the U.S. must end its aid.
Our taxpayer money should not help Israel any further.
Republicans have extremely unpopular ideas. They will find out the risk of supporters being turned off by their policies.

Let them know that you are tired of private equity firms getting away with destroying small businesses and long established companies. A shooting at a midtown Manhattan office building on Monday left at least three people dead, including an off-duty New York City police officer, sources told the The Associated Press.
The suspect was identified as Shane Tamura, of Nevada, two people briefed on the investigation told the AP. Sources said he fatally shot himself.
Law enforcement officials located identification on Tamura’s body, including a concealed carry permit from Las Vegas, the people said. The people were not authorized to discuss details of an ongoing investigation and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Active Shooter with assault rifle targeted a police officer and injured at least six others at Blackstone's New York headquarters.
The Fire Department of New York said emergency crews were called to the Park Avenue office building Monday evening for a report of someone shot. The building houses some of the country’s top financial firms and the National Football League. A spokesperson said the call came in around 6:30 p.m. but provided no other details.
Mayor Eric Adams said multiple people were injured. He posted a clip to social media urging people still inside the office building to stay put because police officers were conducting a floor-by-floor search. The Democrat said he’s headed to the hospital to speak with the family and loved ones of those involved.
Local TV footage showed lines of people evacuating the office building with their hands above their heads. The building includes offices of Blackstone and the consulate general of Ireland.
Some finance workers at an office building down the block were picking up dinner at a corner eatery when they heard a loud noise and saw people running.
“It was like a crowd panic,” said Anna Smith, who joined the workers pouring back into the finance office building. They remained there for about two hours before being told they could leave.

The building where the shooting happened is in a busy area of midtown, located a short walk north from Grand Central Terminal and about a block east of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The city’s emergency management alert system warned of traffic delays, road closures and disruptions to public transportation in the area.

They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican legislators who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms.
Holding these lawmakers accountable is not just a pledge, but a promise. You need to learn who represents your community. Your local community member, your school board member, your mayor, your state representative, your state senator, your governor, your U.S. Representative, your U.S. Senator and the president need to be held accountable for their actions.

Police officers killed so far: 49 killed.
A gunman opened fire Monday outside the largest casino in Reno, Nevada, killing three people and wounding three others before police shot the suspect and arrested him, officials said.
The suspect had no known connection to the victims, and it was unclear if he was a guest or an employee at the Grand Sierra Resort, one of Reno’s most prominent venues that has hosted concerts, sporting events and a campaign rally by President Donald J.Trump before the 2024 election. Near the California border and just northeast of Lake Tahoe, the town is a popular summer tourist destination.
Police were still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
Two victims were in critical condition, while one was treated and released from the hospital, said Chris Crawforth, the police chief of the neighboring town of Sparks whose department is leading the investigation.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the gunman walked up to the casino-hotel’s valet parking area, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at a group of people, police said. His gun initially malfunctioned, but he quickly was able to get it to shoot multiple times before fleeing on foot through the parking lot where he encountered an armed casino security guard. Crawforth said the gunman opened fire on the guard, who returned fire as the shooter fled again.

The suspect later shot at someone driving by in the parking lot, striking and killing the driver before officers arrived on the scene within three minutes of the first shots being fired.
“There was incredible, swift action that took place,” Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve said, adding that it stopped the suspect from going into the casino-hotel to continue the rampage.
The shooter had multiple firearm magazines, according to Crawforth.
The suspect fired at Reno police officers and hit a patrol vehicle. Multiple officers returned fire, striking the suspect, Crawforth said. The suspect, whose name was not released, remains in critical condition.
Michael Sisco, 60, said he was in his room and about to head to the valet for his car when he heard popping sounds. He looked out his window and saw people screaming and running from the valet area.
He said he saw a man holding his stomach and staggering before falling motionless next to a car. Sisco moved away from the window as the gunshots continued.

Christina Martinez heard the shots just as she was stepping onto an elevator in the lobby, and they were still going off when she stepped out onto the 18th floor.
Someone in a neighboring room told her there was a gunman right outside the main entrance, near where Martinez said she was getting coffee just moments before.
“I feel very blessed, but that’s kind of why I had a panic attack,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God. I was just there.’”
Hours after the shooting, the entrance inside the casino leading to the valet area was roped off to guests and privacy screens were placed in front of the glass doors to block the view outside.
In addition to those who were killed and the people taken to the hospital, three more were treated for minor injuries at the casino, according to Devon Reese, chair of the Board of Health in northern Nevada. One person was grazed by a bullet on their pinky finger, one was treated for severe anxiety and one was injured while running, he said.
One officer also was injured from what was likely “glass fragments,” Reno Police Chief Kathryn Nance said.
“Tragedies like this are horrific for any community to endure,” she said.
More than a year ago, two men were charged with fatally shooting another man who was staying at the resort in January 2024.
The Grand Sierra claims to have the biggest casino floor in northern Nevada and sits just a few blocks from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. It’s also one of the tallest buildings in the city, with nearly 2,000 hotel rooms.
“We are heartbroken by the senseless violence that occurred in our parking area earlier today,” the casino said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by this tragic incident.”

Calese Crowder, is a sexual predator from California. He is required to register in the offender base for the rest of his life. He recent encounter with a woman now puts him in the crosshairs of the penal system that could lock him up for 10 years.

He was confronted by a woman who observed him trying to rub his face into her buttocks. He was trying to pretend he was look for something on the ground but in reality, he was trying to grope the victim.
The Burbank Police Department arrested a registered sex offender after he allegedly sniffed women's buttocks at a local department store.
Officers arrested Calese Carron Crowder, 38, on July 22. The department said he is a registered sex offender on parole and has a history of similar arrests for lewd conduct in Glendale and Burbank since 2021. In 2023, the Glendale Police Department arrested Crowder after he was allegedly peeping into a Glendale family's home.
"It's frustrating but we do what we need to do," said Burbank police Sgt. Stephen Turner.

The Burbank City Attorney's Office filed one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime against Crowder for the latest incident. He's being held on a $100,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on Aug. 1.
Burbank police said they arrested Crowder after receiving reports of a suspicious man lingering around the women's section at a Nordstrom Rack in the Burbank Empire Center. However, when officers arrived, witnesses told them Crowder had already left the store.
Police searched through the shopping center and found Crowder inside a nearby Walmart.
Surveillance cameras captured Crowder moving through various departments and stopping in the women's section, according to police. Investigators said the footage showed Crowder crouching near a woman and sniffing her buttocks while in the women's section.
Crowder also gained national infamy after a TikToker recorded him allegedly sniffing her while at a Barnes & Noble in Burbank.
"I feel like the justice system is just neglecting everything," said Michaela Witter, who recorded Crowder allegedly sniffing her. "It's crazy to think that someone like this, who's constantly stalking and violating these people, is allowed to be out and about."
Detectives asked anyone with information on the case to contact the department's Investigations Division at (818) 238-3210.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
