| If I was wrong, what "is real"? |
The Zionists and far right angry at Michael Che and Colin Jost. Last night on SNL, the Weekend Update hosts made a joke that took aim at a factual issue that is happening in real time.
Michael Che made a controversial joke about Israel's high voter turnout, delivering the punchline: "Regardless of if you’re on the right side, or the left side, or the genocide."
Okay, what is controversial about that?
It hurts poor Israel's feelings.
Pro-Israel organizations, such as StandWithUs, heavily criticized Che for utilizing the platform to spread harmful misinformation. Other critics condemned the framing as a "blood libel dressed up as comedy."
We are starting to get tired of this noise being peddled by these fruit cakes.
A fucking joke. They are upset over a joke.
Critics argue that framing Israel's democratic election through the lens of genocide goes far beyond acceptable political satire. Organizations like StandWithUs have labeled the joke dangerous misinformation, pointing out that Israel's election saw high participation across its diverse voting base, including Arab citizens. Online campaigns have begun targeting SNL advertisers to pressure the network into letting Che go.
Conversely, supporters argue the line is protected political satire targeting the Israeli government’s military actions rather than its citizens. Many have pushed back against the calls to fire him, framing the controversy as an attempt to censor late-night comedy and free speech.
Che has faced firing demands over segments regarding Israel. In February 2021, he sparked intense backlash for a Weekend Update joke regarding Israel's COVID-19 vaccine distribution, where he joked: "Israel is reporting that they've vaccinated half of their population. And I'm going to guess it's the Jewish half." That incident similarly provoked viral petitions and condemnation from groups like the American Jewish Committee, though NBC took no disciplinary action at the time.
Imagine, many of these agitators and politicians say things about immigrants, Blacks, Muslims, transgender Americans and disabled. They wet their pants over jokes about President Donald J. Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, their children, Israel, Jews, 9/11, Christians, the Pope and Charlie Kirk.
Before the Abdul El-Sayed and Haley Stevens feud blew up, Israeli ops were angry over the jokes made by Che, Dave Chappelle and Sammy Obeid.
